SATELLIT C870 - SD Card reader cannot be used

Hi all

I recently bought a satellite C870 with Windows 8.
(Realtek?) internal SD card reader is available on this laptop. But the reader (usb I think) will not work properly.

I only use this card successfully sd reader only 1 time. After a restart of my computer, the drive may not be recognized by the operating system. I tried to re - install the driver on Toshiba support site wihtout success.

This sd card reader came out?
How can I solve my pb?

I can still return this laptop for an Exchange with another, but it is very long.

Thank you

Concerning

You did not provide the full name of your Satellite C870-xxx model, but I know that for example Satellite C870 - 10 p supports the 2-in-1 (SD and MMC) bridge location and this crack manages cards:

SD-> 8MB - 2 GB
SDHC-> 4GB - 32 GB
-> 64GB SDXC
Mini SD-> 8MB - 2 GB
Micro SD-> 8MB - 2 GB
and MMC

So make sure that you have used maps compatible and right.

  • How can I disable the 'auto play' settings on my laptop built in SD card reader? I use Windows XP and it is a DELL INSPIRON 9400 laptop

    When I use a card reader external to see pictures on a CF card is not a problem, it gives me options to choose what need do is what I want my internal card reader to do, any help, advice or solutions would be very welcome for all your technicians over there.

    Follow the procedure described in the following article:

    "How to disable the Windows Autorun feature"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/967715 >

    There is a section in this article "How to selectively disable specific Autorun features", but you can disable it only based on the "Type" of the player.  What you can find, is that your CF card reader goes up as a 'removable disc' then your SD reader rises up like a 'fixed reader' (or vice versa) and it is the determining factor on the behavior that you get.

  • Memory card reader cannot read SDHC cards.

    HP m8120n memory card reader apparently cannot handle the SDHC cards, or it is possible that he can't because I changed from Vista to Windows 7.  Where can I find the proper drivers?

    A driver will not solve this problem. It would require an update of the firmware, but depending on the age of your system, which will not happen. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but buy an external USB card reader to solve your problem.

  • SD card reader cannot read a 4 GB SDHC card.

    I have a gateway MT6451. I've updated the driver. Seems to be a Vista issue. He reads the card if I have it in a device, so I know that the card is good. The drive works because he recognizes a 2 GB SD card.

    SD card reader will not read a 4 GB SDHC card, help please.

    Hello

    Check with the gateway as this card reader isn't able to read SDHC format cards.

    I hope this helps.

  • Display card reader cannot find enough resources

    HI all - I volunteer administer laptops for a small school.  Last week a motherboard (not an Acer) fried, and a kid dropped her Acer crashed hard drive.  So I took the disk hard non-Acer, with his system and software always on this issue and put in the Acer laptop.  It starts OK and I installed some drivers from the Acer site.  However, I was not able to get the installed display adapter driver, and now the laptop is limited to the resolution 1024 x 768.

    The hard disk came from a computer with an AMD processor and an AMD/ATI video card.  The Acer computer has a processor Intel and Intel HD Graphics.  I ran the Intel driver installation program from the Acer site.  I tried "Uninstall" in the Device Manager display adapter and reinstall.  The only time where I had the Intel driver to install, its status was, "this device cannot find enough free resources that it can use.  (Code 12) "at the present time, sort the display adapter has been restored"Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", but even that cannot find enough free resources.

    I don't know if this is relevant, but following some advice I found in a forum, I tried to uninstall a couple of devices under system devices.  Specifically, even if I installed the Intel chipset drivers and I see them in the Device Manager, I still see two devices called "AMD PCI Express (3GIO) Filter Driver".  That cannot be good.  I tried to uninstall both, but the uninstall dialog box never ends.  I tried Mode without failure, but same result.  I tried to delete the referenced driver, AtiPcie.sys, but then the computer cannot start.

    Any ideas what I need to do to get the Intel driver work?

    Thank you!

    Bob

    Thanks philetus - I'm not back to school until last night.  I deleted all the system programs and all HP bloatware programs but no change.

    Of course I can't simply run factory recovery when the hard drive of the plant is dead and that the computer has a hard disk of another company.  But I'll just reimage the entire hard drive - I found an image of the entire system, I took a couple of years.

    Thank you all,

    Bob

  • Satellite Pro A100 - card reader no longer works

    Hello

    I have a Satellite Pro A100 - PSAACE-008002EN, that I bought a month ago, its worked perfectly so far and has been fantastic to use.

    The main part that I use is the memory located on the front card reader, I have used it with SD, MMC and cards XD for my pda and cameras, until now, it worked well, but recently, I was music transfer etc for my Sony PSP Memory Stick using a Memorystick Pro Duo Pro adapter so that the card fits properly in the slot and it works very well.

    All of a sudden the laptop can no more read on my MS card, I tried the card in a usb card reader and it works perfectly with or without the adapter. The laptop card reader reads cards SD MMC and XD, still perfectly fine but when I framed my memorystick, it shows the stick as being there in my computer, but when I click on the dialog box appears and says that there is no disc?

    I tried to install the latest drivers but it does not work, any help is appreciated

    Thank you very much

    Rich

    I found this information and first of all, I want to put a list of supported cards:

    SD (support of multiple Digital Media Card slot) capacity 8MB - 2GB
    Memory Stick (supported by several Digital Media Card slot) capacity 8 to 256 MB
    photo 16-1 GB xD card
    Memory Stick 8 to 256 MB
    Memory Stick Pro 256 MB to 2 GB
    MultiMediaCard 8 MB - 1 GB

    According to this list, the Memory Stick Pro Duo is not supported. But you used an adapter.
    But maybe this is a reason why the card reader cannot read the MS cards more.

    What you can do is to remove the card from the Device Manager reader, and after new restart try to install this new device

    If you can't get the working card reader, you can use a card reader that is
    not expensive.

  • Satellie A100: How to use MMC card in the card reader

    Hello world

    first of all, I have a Toshiba Satellie A100 laptop computer.
    And now my question: at the front of the laptop (private), there is slot card reader, right next to the microphone and volume, etc.

    I have my cell phone MMC card, but it does not fit the slot in becuse I have a lot of fat. Do I need an adapter? I'm afraid I haven't been out there more later!
    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you!

    grettings, thomas87

    Hello

    What unites exactly do you have? Very interesting is the number of station A100-xxx
    I googled around and it seems that the SD card reader is not available on the laptop.
    There is only one PCMCIA slot.

    So, if you mean the PCMCIA location, then you should know that it s not possible to use any SD, MMC cards into this slot.

    The best solution would be an external card reader that you can connect to the USB port.

    Have you tried to roll back the OS to an earlier time to see if the card reader is working properly again?

    Have you tried reinstalling the driver of the card reader?

    Why you need to install the drivers? Your Tecra is not installed with the original Toshiba recovery image?
