  The replacement of CD/DVD is not really difficult.
  The STRANGE is fixed with a screw hidden under the keyboard.

  To remove the keyboard you have to remove the thin plastic which is placed above the line of F1 to F12 key. You will then see the screws securing the keyboard.

  Remove the screws to lift to the top of the keyboard.
  Now, on the left, you will find a screw that holds the ODD.
  Remove this screw and now you should be able to move the disc.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S507, which more is under warranty and has begun to report S.M.A.R.T. errors.

  SmartMonitor reports a lot of questions especially marked as old age so I need to replace the disk. I was wondering if I can replace it with any standard 2.5 "ATA as an ATA-100 player. as the disk of 60 GB specification is ATA - 5.

  The P20 supports an improved IDE (ATA-5) interface.

  ATA - 5 = Ultra DMA 66 = 4, = 6 MB/s UDMA-66 ;)

  with my laptop older, one Satellite 5005-S504, I recently problems with the USB ports. None of the three ports detects a USB device. Device Manager does not indicate a problem on the host controller or root hub.

  I am running Windows XP, SP3 and there was no recent updates to be identified as the cause of this dysfunction.

  Suspicion over there?
  Is there a driver available that could help?

  The USB ports are listed in the Device Manager or not?
  If so, I'll try to remove them and restart the laptop. After that the ports will automatically install again.

  It seems that the recovery CD can not initialize the motherboard of your laptop (String DMI) information.

  Hi all

  I'm on a Toshiba (Satellite)? T1960CS/200 (model No.: PA1170U VT) with MS-DOS operating system.

  Then plug the power adapter into the laptop, PC IN lamps is green (means the adapter sector seem to be OK).
  After turning on the laptop, the power/speed light indicates a green light for a second but switches to a nothing more happens.

  What's wrong?

  It looks like a hardware issue to me. You should try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait an hour and after that connect the two devices again. Try restarting the laptop and hope that it will work! ;)

  If this isn't the case it seems to be a hardware malfunction, maybe the motherboard needs to be replaced. I put t know if you want to spend the money for this oldie, but on eBay, you can get second hand parts maybe they are cheaper or you buy a new laptop.

  my laptop is satellite L500-1UU.
  When I tried to start today on battery it gives me white screen and I heard the fan works quickly and only the captain led is lit and refuses the pc shuts off when I press the power button until I have to remove the battery.

  I'm not quite sure if anyone would be able to help you here in the forum because it sounds more like material of Mr. problem but try this:
  Unplug eth AC adapter, remove the battery.
  Press the power button / stop along 30 sec
  Now connect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start the machine.

  If this doesn't help, you will need professional help technicians Toshiba ASP.

  I put t know how RM module are in your P200, but if there are two modules, then you can try to boot the machine using that one module

  A few months ago my girlfriend s notebook developed the similar question
  I ve replaced the RAM and Notepad starts again.

  But please don t understand me wrong. I put t say that this question is related to the faulty RAM memory, I think it could be a RAM, and if you want you could test it 100%.
  But in my opinion if you n t want to waste money for some RAM modules without knowing exactly what's wrong then you should ask a technician for laptop for a control.

  After these checks, you'd know what part is affected.

  I have a laptop M30 and it was a good laptop, but one day suddenly it crashed. When I start the laptop, nothing happens and the Power Led switch on the battery and power the conection too.

  Not just what message appears on the screen, the screen stay black, bright but black, no BIOS, nothing. On the other side, I hear tha usual noise, no HARD drive, no FUN.

  I dissambled it and are looking for a conection unwired, or any stupid problem, but I 'can' t find any.

  Believe me; usually it of not possible to provide a diagnosis exactly. For me, it looks like a motherboard failure, perhaps also the lack of CPU operation but who knows!

  Without a laptop, check it s not easy to say what's wrong. So I think that you will need to contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
