Satellite A100-308: is there an audio S/PDIF taken?

Hello

Sorry if this question was asked several times but I have no clear answer to this: laptops Satellite A100-30 [789] series have a digital audio output?

I'm pretty happy for the moment of my A100-308 (PSAA9E), but would be really great to be able to connect to my home theater system. On comparators, I found that the A100-307 and A100-309 seem to have a S/PDIF output - so use it the HD Audio chip on board - but no info on such a capability for the A100-308... It seems that this model has existed just long enough for me to buy it :)

I also found information about an external docking station (named Dynadock in my memories) which seems to provide S/PDIF and DVI - I output for the A100 series, I have to find one to take advantage of its 7.1?

Thanks in advance for any link/howto!

Hello

you have a link where this dynadock is shown? It would be interesting for me, because I have the same thoughts as you...
But I must say one thing: I never see not a S/PDIF out on a laptop and it would be very interesting to know what kind of machine you need. :)

Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite A100-033 PSAANE: Realtek Audio stereo Mix has become 'lost '.

Following an encouraging response to a question from the forum, I replaced the original 60 G hard drive in my Toshiba Satellite A100-033 PSAANE with a 500 G drive.
All right, except that I have more "Stereo Mix Realtek High Definition Audio" in the recording tab in the audio in the control panel.
This means that I can't record any sound at all, if I try to capture sound, for example to help start Video Capture Software from NCH.

If I replace the original 60G drive, stereo mix Realtek is there and I can record OK. If I plug my external sound card, I can record the sound with it. If (in my new 500G drive), I look in Device Manager in the Control Panel, Realtek High Definition Audio is listed under game controllers & sound video. Thus, it seems that the correct driver is correct. But somehow, it is not recognized under sound in the Control Panel, and it cannot be used by software that requires it.

It may be a simple problem but it's confusing to me. Can anyone help?

    Thanks for this second info

  • Record from an audio cassette in digital format on a Satellite A100

I want to record music old of an audio cassette to MP3 or similar. I downloaded the Audacity software but don't know if I can actually put up a line of connection of my tape to my Toshiba Satellite A100 player. Is this possible via the microphone connection? Are there other ways to make it through one of the USB ports?

If anyone has any suggestions I would be interested to read.

    Thank you

    Ken

    Hello Ken

If you want to do this on professional road, you need good things to do. One of my friends bought a package to scan old gramophone records. He bought some external device and special software.

Can I really do not remember the name of this product, but I know that it was connected on the USB port. The gramophone or, in your case, cassette player must be connected to the external device.

Small little around Google and you will find many good products for these purposes. In my opinion the MIC port is not the best solution.

  • Audio Glitch problem when the playback/record on Satellite A100

    Hello world

I have an audio glitch issue with my Toshiba laptop.

When you play any audio file off the coast of the HD I mean glitches.

I play audio with the media player through the integrated sound card and...
A Firewire Interface Audio FF400 RME. (which works fine on other computers).
A USB Alesis Photon x 25 USB 1.1 Audio Interface. (which works fine on other computers).

but all still produce this annoying glitch.

Other forums (see below) seem to think it's the fan.

But what anything what is the solution to solve this?

Someone on one of the other forums (see below)

Said that they could not fix it and sold their laptop, I hope I don't have to do that too.

A reply as soon as possible to support Toshiba or anyone with ideas please give your contribution.

    Hello

I had the same problem with my Satellite Pro A100 - basically whenever the fan kicks inside or outside, there was a glitch in the audio that pretty much unusable laptop for music.

At the end of the day, I followed the advice of Nelucard and changed to MPS Multiprocessor PC ACPI processor/computer on Device Manager driver. I then had to reinstall most of my drivers, but once this is done, the fan has been all the time, so there are no glitches more - at least not once the laptop has heated up to... at the beginning, the fan still comes in and out, but after 3-4 minutes, that's all the time. I can live with that.

It's far from ideal, but in my case it worked and I can now use Reaper, audio streaming and use a load of plug-ins with no problems. I hope Toshiba will come back with a better solution via a BIOS update in the future, but I think that this problem has been known for 7-8 months and nothing has been done so far...

In any case, good luck and I hope this is of some use.

    See you soon.

  • Satellite A100-920 - Audio driver problem - Win XP Pro

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with audio driver. I can't seem to find one that works anywhere, I looked at several forums and the Toshiba site for drivers without success. I basically hit a wall, so I hope someone can provide a working solution. :)

    Audio device:
Feature: 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller
    Manufacturer: Intel

(Information retrieved using a Ubuntu 9.04 Live CD)

Although a windows system it labels as "Realtek High Definition Audio Controller"? (I'm not an expert with the drivers, so maybe this is a stupid question...) :)

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite A100-920 (PSAA9E) Windows XP Professional.

I spent hours trying to solve this problem, so I hope this is the last mile. :) Thanks to anyone with suggestions.

    Best regards

You use Windows XP Home with SP2 or SP3?

  • Satellite A100: audio stream recorder requires that called the stereo mix

Try to use a workflow program audio recorder/converter, but it requires what is called "stereo mix". The toshiba only a100 doesn't seem to have this? Help?
I have tried downloading drivers latest Tosh site for Realtek sound card, but it has not made a difference.

    Hello

First of all, Toshiba has designed different models Satellite A100. You should put a portable name exactly.
Second, what do you do exactly?
Called the stereo mix is unfortunately not a very expressive information.

As far as I know on some units of the A100, the sound effect Manager realtek HD is installed.
Here you can choose different settings and audio control inputs and outputs.
Toshiba virtual sound is also pre-installed on the A100. Here, you can set the parameters for a surround sound.
By the way; all applications that you can find in the control panel.

    Thank you

    Alphaleader's right.
First of all patches must be installed. Then restart the laptop and remove PCI devices with yellow exclamation mark appearing in-system devices > Device Manager.
Then restart the computer and reinstall the Realtek audio driver
