Satellite A100-797: Vista Device Manager show different CPU speeds

Hi all

I had an an A100-797 with Vista Home Premium 32 Bit and I was cruising along the system properties. Via 'Control panel system->' I saw the spec CPU as

Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00 Ghz, 2.00 Ghz

Then I checked the CPU the Device Manager section, he showed me two CPU

Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66 Ghz
Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00 Ghz

Do you think this is normal?

This inconsistency happened only on a single server running windows 2008 r2.

Could you please guide me in the right direction on how to understand this situation/problem.

I checked the msconfig and some other items, but before making the changes, I would like to know if its designed that way in any specific combination.

Kindly let me know if you need further details to help me understand the process or the issue in the case.

  • Satellite A100-1AI watch CD player but Device Manager shows the DVD player

I own a Satellite A100-1AI and went from Vista to Windows XP?

My DVD player has been discovered as a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N but is only showing as a CD drive in my computer screen.

Also Device Manager shows Mass Storage Controller and controller SM Bus as an unknown device (other).

Since the switch from Vista to XP I have not adjusted my BIOS settings

How can I make my DVD see CD and erase those unknown devices

    Thanks in advance

    Spon

    Just a question;
You can read and burn CDs?

    Regarding the unknown devices:
These devices are only compatible Vista and so there is no drivers for the mass storage controller.

    Check this box:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB83023N0000R01.htm

+ After the installation of Windows XP, there might be a yellow exclamation by a "PCI memory controller" or * mass storage controller * in Device Manager. +

    _Solution: _
+ This unit is probably the module of Robson former Turbo Memory. +
+ This hardware will only supported by Windows Vista. +
+ That is why there is no Windows XP drivers. +

  • Device Manager shows two different processors on Satellite P200 - 1 K 9

    Hello
I just bought P200 - 1 K 9 and spotted (Vista 32-bit) Device Manager shows two different processors under the section of processors:

    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 @ 2.40 GHz CPU

I expected to see the two excatly the same processors here.

Vista recognizes in general CPU core 2 duo 2.4 GHz, BIOS too.
What is on the Device Manager?

Is there something wrong with the CPU? Should I return it better?
Would you please check your processor in Device Manager (start-> right click on computer-> select Properties-> Device Manager) and let me know what you have?

I'll start some live linux CD and check there too.

    Thank you
    Miroslaw

    Hi mate,

the you´ve got problem is not a problem. It s just a simple bug in the Vista Device Manager and hardware abstraction layer.
    Follow these steps:
Remove the CPU from the Device Manager (uninstall just like any other device) and then restart windows. The processor will be indicated correctly next time you reboot the system.

    Welcome them

  • Can not install device driver USB IRDA Kingsun on Satellite A100 with Vista OS

I have a USB IRDA Kingsun device that worked well on a desktop with XP but my Satellite A100 with Vista defies installing the drivers that came on a CD with the IRDA.

How can I install or does anyone know one that works with Vista?

    Hello

If you are not able to install the 3rd party device IRDA driver on Vista, it seems that the disc is not compatible and don t support Vista.
Seems you have to contact the manufacture of the IRDA device and ask the compatible reader

But maybe that you're unlucky and the Vista driver does not exist?  :|

  • Is satellite A100-797 - compatible with Windows 7?

    Hi all

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-797 and want to upgrade to Windows 7, it will be available. When I run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it shows me a few errors that make the upgrade is not possible.

The following devices are incompatible with Windows 7, the Upgrade Advisor:
    -ACPI Bluetooth
    -Bluetooth RFBUS
-Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller

If I understand correctly, after upgrading to Windows 7 Blueooth and the card reader will not work. I searched the net for updates of pilot, but did not find any.

Can someone please tell me if there is a Windows 7 compatible driver available for these devices and if not, when they do? Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

Most computers mobile new generation are compatible with Windows 7.
The hardware components are strong enough to get Win 7 smoothly.

If you can install Windows 7, but the question is if Win 7 drivers for A100 will be published on the page of Toshiba.
    Maybe maybe not. We'll see
If you won't find Win 7 drivers on the page then you will have to search for the drivers on different websites and will have to collect the drivers with your own hands

    See you soon

  • Is the Satellite A100-797 x64bit or 32-bit?

    Hey,.

I have a question on the Satellite A100-797.
    Is this laptop a x 64 computer?
The installed operating system is Vista 32 bit...

    Thank you
    Mathijs

Well, the Satellite A100-797 is a unit of the PSAARE series and it has been bundled with an Intel Core 2 Duo (Merom) T7200 2.0 Ghz 667 FSB CPU.
According to the Intel page this processor supports 64-bit architecture.

But as you mentioned in your ad above the installed operating system is a 32-bit Vista.
The laptop is able to manage the two BONES s. Vista 32-bit and 64-bit.

  • The Bios password has changed on my Satellite A100-797?

An hour ago my bios on my satellite A100-797 does not accept my password more, so I can't start my laptop more.
Is started the laptop views both today, and suddenly my password doesn't work anymore.

-Im am 100% sure I type the password.
-Never change the password always used this password on this laptop, for the time of year I have now.
-I'm the only person who has never known the password.
    -No recent bios update

It should not be possible that changed the password.
Is it possible the mapping of the keys or something like that has changed?

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country too.
It turns out that only the ASP can remove the BIOS password.

Maybe they could update the BIOS to make sure that this is not a BIOS problem.

    Good luck

  • Device Manager shows no device, is empty

My 8200 Dell under XP Professional SP3 shows not all devices in Device Manager.  I think that it started very recently when I was installing TM Internet Security after the removal of Norton Anti Virus 2009.  Eventually after using Norton Removal Tool. It doesn't show the devices safe.  Plug and Play is on.  I recently installed an old HP DeskJet 820Cse printer using existing drivers.  I do not think that article 953979 applies since it just (seem), took place but it seems to fit the description.  Any help is appreciated.

There is a Microsoft 953979 patch that works, but it didn't on mine, I then found this articale and followed the instructions and it worked.

    (1) logged as an administrator;
    (2) Regedit > HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\ENUM.
    (3) right clicked Enum and gives right to the system and administrators full control.
    (4) clicked the button Options at the bottom of the window.
    (5) on the Advanced window checked 'reset permissions on all child objects... ". »
    (6) the deleted Enum key. Error message: error while deleting key. I had to remove this key twice because initially, it appeared the remains of Enum key. After that, the locked ENUM\ROOT\LEGACY_SSDPSRV who already had a lot of weird symbols example $% &' () * +-, etc., now gone. Registry shows an own ENUM\ROOT subkey.
    (7) PC rebooted and back connected to Windows;
    (8) window of the Device Manager showed some yellow exclamation not to mention that some devices not recognized, then refreshed a few times showing successively less then not many of these features.
    (9) PC rebooted again;
    (10) message screen saying according to Windows has finished installing new devices, and the computer must be restarted before the new settings take effect.
    11) Yes to restart the computer

Now the Device Manager window is full and all devices running again!

This solution works for my situation. I hope this helps someone.

  • Satellite A100 - ATI Vista driver moved - cannot read from device

    Hello

    I have the following problem:

I downloaded the official Toshiba mobility driver for Windows Vista 32-bit (I had a Satellite A100 (PSAA9) for construction in mobility x 1400.

Once I run the Setup, it will install the ccc, but the real driver, no matter what I do! If I try to install the driver manually, Windows says

"Unable to read from the device (ATI Mobility X 1400).

As an error during the installation. It will not work in safe mode, either.
If anyone can help? Thx a lot!

    Greetz Jens

    Hello

First are you sure that you have an ATI graphics card?

When trying to boot the laptop says bootmgr missing and he won t let me to do nothing, just a blank screen.

Can someone help me please and don't forget I'm a novice so will need an idiots guide.

    Thank you very much John

    Hello!

Have you tried with the disk recovery Toshiba or a disk of Microsoft?
If you want to reinstall Vista with Microsoft disc, you need SATA drivers.

I m do not know what is the problem, but in your case, I would like to format the HARD drive. You can do this with the Microsoft disk or with special tools like the Drive Fitness Test (http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT).

Delete all partitions and then do a low level format. Then try again to install Windows.

Give me a reason why this has happened.

  • Satellite A100-237: unknown device after installing Vista

    Hi all

Just installed vista on my A100-237... After doing the upgrade of the BIOS and the installation of the "unknown device" Value Pack, with the location "on system compatible ACPI Microsoft" appeared in my device manager, any ideas on how to address this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Could you please check if you can see the 'Batteries' entry under ' computer in Device Manager?
As far as I know that the entrance of batteries should have a "Microsoft SMART Battery" & "Microsoft SMART Battery subsystem.

If there is an unknown device, this might have something to do with Microsoft ACPI Compliant Embedded Controller.
In this case it seems that you need a driver for MS SMART SMART Battery & MS battery subsystem.
