    Matt

I have no idea why the password has been set after BIOS update, but I know that a BIOS password cannot be rid of the Toshiba laptop without additional assistance from EPA.

So, if it's a BIOS password, then you really must ask ASP for the removal of the password

The BIOS battery has nothing to do with the BIOS password so don t spend your time disassembled. It can happen that do you some damage.
I put t know how much it costs but if the laptop works well it is a worth paying. This old A200 is not bad machine and works perfectly with Win7 32 bit so that you can use next years without problem.

    Hi all

I have a Satellite P850/040 and after the BIOS update to the new version 1.50 I checked that a BIOS password has been set up, if I can start the operating system.

It's amazing. I am very disappointed with Toshiba.

How can I remove this password? Perhaps with no matter what JCMOS rider?

    Thanks in advance.

    > How can I remove this password? Perhaps with no matter what JCMOS rider?
Unfortunately, something like this will not work. Best thing you can do now is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

You shouldn't be disappointed. I know it's stupid situation but make a call, explain the situation and the guy will help you.

You will find the phone number?

  • Satellite A200 - change in BIOS, so installing XP after Vista

    Hello!

I have a Satellite A200-1SM and I would like to install an os win XP (for the moment, I'm working with Vista and the latest BIOS for this system). Do I have to Flash the BIOS of my motherboard or this step is simply an option that I don't have to do it because XP works fine without him?

    Thx for the help :).

    Hello

The number of threads here on this forum, you will find discussions on this subject.

You can use Windows XP Home edition on your laptop without the BIOS upgrade, but you will not have the full support of WXP. This means that you probably won't be able to use all the features of FN keys. If you want to have the full functionality of Windows XP Home edition, you must upgrade the BIOS to version 5.20, I think. Find out on the Toshiba BIOS download page.

  • Satellite A200 - 10W PSAECE - BIOS need for Vista 64-bit

    Hello

I'm having problems trying to update my BIOS under Vista 64-bit of the system. The plashnt.sys driver generates an error when loading.
On the update of the BIOS page I can't find no 64-bit BIOS update for my laptop Satellite A200-10W (PSAECE). Also I've seen most of the computers portable ETA is updates of BIOS of 2009 and my update to the newest BIOS comes from 2007 (version 1.80 for Windows Vista)!

The reason why I'm trying to update my BIOS:
I have recently installed 4 GB of RAM on my laptop, the screen of the BIOS reports 4 GB but during POST, there are only 3! Vista reports also only 3 GB of physical memory total. I ran a series of landmarks and notes I got using 4 GB are well below the marks using only 2.
Memory modules have been tested on another laptop and none of these problems has occurred (another laptop of the manufacturer).

So I really need a sollution to update my BIOS and prefferably a BIOS update of 2009 available for download.

On the other hand, I was looking for specifications of my laptop on the Toshiba site and I couldn't find my model on the current models, or models discotinued page. In 2007, when I bought the laptop, it was listed as new on the current page of models, so I expect at least to see it in the abandoned list.

    Thank you for your time!

    > 1. Why there is no updated BIOS newer than that of 2007 and
There is no update of the most recent BIOS as Toshiba didn t release new updates.
Why? Who knows maybe a new update is not necessary.

    > . Why my laptop is not listed in the discontinuous model (Satellite a200 - 10w psaece)
Why should it be included as a discontinued model? The A200 series is not very old... so I n t think that this series could be abandoned

  • Satellite A215 boots to BIOS password screen.

I have a Satellite A215-7425 with a problem, I thought I'd pass along the forum. Thank God the three Toshiba laptops that we use, it's the only one who has this problem, so far.

Spontaneously, this laptop starts with the screen of the BIOS at startup password. The problem is, there is no solution for this problem before returning the computer to a Service Center Toshiba where the password can be reset or replaced a security chip or such nonsense. Toshiba technical support can help you to short to send you a UPS box to return the computer in. Technical support Toshiba doesn't have a password that they can give you, or they do not know what causes this problem, but "Toshiba working on it." A search for this problem on Google translates into various web sites that list the Toshiba BIOS passwords, which none has solved my problem.

Now for my question, that Toshiba could not answer, why, in heaven's name would be a laptop or any computer for that matter, be set up in this way? What is a BIOS password, which, with the lack of effectivly, the computer makes them unusable, has to do with security? It's stupid!

Oh and another thing, Toshiba is not the only company that does this, Gateway, HP and Dell do not provide a password of BIOS for repair, or their Support technicians technical people.

So if your Toshiba start screen of the BIOS password, and that your Toshiba just happens to contain information essential for peace in the world, you're out of luck until it can be delivered being repaired and delivered back to you.

Desmond, a very dissatisfied customer of Toshiba.

I m the ASP will remove the BISO password and will solve this problem.

  • Satellite A300 - Question about BIOS password

    Hello

on the machine, I had a bios password set for the start.
After that I put this password empty start it asks me for some other password enter the bios menu.
I am able to boot up the laptop, launch Vista and do what I want to do besides enterering the Bios.

    Advice to solve this problem?
Tried to update the bios, did not help.
Looked in the internet for a description where to find CMOS batt. Still no idea.

    Best regards
    Rob

    Hello

Are you sure that you have set the BIOS password?
If you set the BIOS password then the laptop would request the password before it would start in Windows Vista.

I think that set you the password of the user or supervisor password!

In Toshiba Assist-> Secure you could erase that two passwords too.
    Please check this!

  • Satellite Z30 - A - 12R BIOS password not recognized after update BIOS

I updated the bios after that I warned the Bios of Toshiba v3.50. The process was done by the utility software of Toshiba and after restarting it has 'password =' on a blank screen and it does not recognize my BIOS password, write not 'certified '.

I also tried the HARD drive password, but no luck.

    What can I do now?

    Hello

Before you try to update the BIOS, all passwords must be removed!
BIOS password can be removed by the authorized service provider available in your country.

But the unknown HARD disk password can be removed more.
In such a case the HDD isn't accessible and cannot be used.

Mate sorry but in my opinion that you only have one chance to get the BIOS password removed. you need the help of ASP.

  • Satellite P300-1 has 8 - password requests when you turn

    Hello

I bought a P300 Carphone Warehouse for years as my first laptop, but because I am not versed in computer things, I thought that he had broken causing buy me a new acer laptop.

Yesterday, I found the laptop and tried to put on with a spare magazine and discovered that it was not the laptop, which was broken, but the actual charger wire has been damaged, so it worked yesterday but when I tried to turn it on this morning he asked me a password to 8 digits in a blue box.

After 3 incorrect ones, it would be closed.
A friend told me that it is a bios password and I was hoping if anyone knows the password because I threw away the manual who died in 2007.

    Thank you in advance!

BIOS password is the individual password and not a standard password that you can find in manuals s or any other official document.
Someone put this password and the laptop is now locked.
All you can do is check the Toshiba authorized service provider and allow them to remove this password.

  • Satellite A100 BIOS password request

I did a disk check on my Satellite A100, but after the control of what my system is in place with the message "Password".
There is no password set for the system.
    What should I do?

    Pleas help.

I agree with Akuma, but I don t understand why Notepad starts with a password prompt.

However, an ASP (authorized service provider) can remove the password. You can search on the Toshiba site to find an ASP.
