Satellite A100: Need to English instead of German recovery CD

Hello.
I have an A100 of Germany and I wand to change it to English. If I can get the English recovery disk? I can compile one myself?

Thank you

Hi Philippe,.

You will need to approach a UK based Certified Service partner in order to obtain a recovery in English for you CD A100.

You will not be able to compile it yourself, because the restore CD contains a "ghost" of the complete installation image, so unless you already have an English operating system installed you will not be able to create a recovery CD.

Of course, you can get a Windows installation English CD and allows to install on your A100 and then to download tools and utilities from the Toshiba web site.

Kind regards

  • Satellite A100 - need tools for Windows 7 and 64-bit drivers

    Hello

I have W7 RTM from Technet, and I install 64-bit edition on my laptop ' Satellite A100 (PSAA9) "I need 64-bit drivers and 64 bit utility (value added package..), but I can't find them... value added 32-bit package does not work on 64-bit (installation is rejected) :/"

Sorry, my English is very very bad

    Thanks for the tips

I do not think that you will have success installing Win7 64 bit on an old system as the A100, you should install 32 bit Win7 and use Vista 32-bit drivers.

  • Satellite A100 - need Vista 64bits Mass Storage Controller & TOS1901 driver

I have a notebook "Toshiba Satellite A100-049" who has the ability to support 4 GB memory (but which came with 2 GB) and I'm unable to find some drivers for it on the site Web of Tosiba. I put a second hard drive in the laptop (although far from my normal 32 bit Vista installation) and test Windows 7 64 bit. I currently have 2 GB of memory. I have most of the drivers, but need:

    * Mass Storage Controller
    * Unknown Device - TOS1901
    * According to the "Action Center", I also need to install "Intel Management Engine Interface". I suspect this is related to the mass storage controller.

I searched the Intel site but without knowing which chipset etc... my laptop uses, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

When I installed Vista 32 bit, I had to install the package of value-added and supervisor password utility.
The problem is while I managed to find a value-added Package 64-bit I can't find a Supervisor Password Utility 64-bit.

I understand "Unknown Device - TOS1901" supervisor password average Utility.

Where can I find drivers for 64-bit for this and also the mass storage controller?
Even if they are for another model (but fine installation).

    Thank you

PS - If I can't find the drivers I'll send a letter of complaint from Toshiba to sell a laptop capable of 4 GB of memory but absolutely no way to actually do this. Response from Toshiba a while ago (when I asked) had to settle for 3 GB on 32-bit Windows. It is not really satisfactory to lose 25% of your memory.
That was before I had installed 64-Bit Windows.

    Hi Brad

As you can see here, nobody can offer the correct answer. Problem is that this model of laptop is not supported for Vista 64-bit and you will be unable to find the Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities that are designed or tested with your model of laptop.

Maybe you can try to install the other laptop satellite model tools, but there is no guarantee that it will work properly.
    Sorry :(

Maybe you should use 32-bit Vista support

  • Satellite A100 - need drivers for Savvy TV using Windows 7

    Hello

I spend my Toshiba Satellite A100-165 under Windows 7 32 bit. Everything is ok except for Savvy TV.

When I bought the computer, he was inside a USB stick tv tuner with tv savvy running; the version of the software is not compatible with Windows 7.

Where can I find a savvy tv version that runs under windows 7?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You mean that the Vista 32 bit driver/software can be installed on Windows 7?
Hmm that's wrong because it seems that drivers Win 7 for Savy TV are not available at this time.

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba.
    I chose;
Options of-based office-> tuner Accessories > TV-> TV tuner hybrid USB and I could find only the drivers for Vista, XP and W2k

  • Satellite A100: Need guide to clean the fan

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A100 is about 18mnths old. Recently, it started to freeze and crash in particular when using any CPU intensive process. I think that the laptop could be overheating - recently, I noticed that the fan seems to be a lot longer than it used to be.

I want to keep it simple and do not go so far as to clean the radiator or the change of grease between the CPU and the heatsink. I want to just open the case and give the Interior a clean place.

First, is it reasonable? OR should I clean the radiator, change the fat, etc.

Second, there are tips online with step by step pictures? I searched and found nothing for my specific PC.

    Thanks in advance.

You might be right! These symptoms are related mainly to an overheating problems.
Especially these behaviors could begin if the laptop is a little older and it was not cleaned before.

So first of all it of necessary to says you won't find all the instructions (photo) on the page Toshiba how to clean the fans generally this procedure must be done by a technician for laptop

However, you could make yourself using a jet of compressed air. These aerosols can be purchased from the computer or some google simply online dealers

I cleaned my fans several times and used this spray. It of very easy to use and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.

    Good bye

    Hello

Don t user recovery drive to another PC, because it won't work.
You can use a clean Windows OS disk or the Toshiba recovery disc.

Why? Because the recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing a Windows OS, drivers and other software.
If you want to use the recovery from another PC disk then all the drivers, tools and software distributed for this PC will be loaded on your Toshiba laptop.
    This can cause the BSOD!

So if you n t have the Toshiba recovery disc then you should use MS Windows CD!
Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba page!

    Welcome, Tobias Erdmann

    Hello

I guess you have you used original restore CD that was shipped with this laptop. That's why I put t thinks it is a CD problem but maybe with your HARD drive.
Have you tried to format the whole HARD drive? Delete all partitions and format the HARD drive before installation

If the OS install will not work or will divide in the middle of the procedure, then the material should be checked. The A100 is not very old unit and therefore the guarantee must be valid. If a new HARD drive is necessary you should get it for free.

Good luck and please post if you know more details

  • Satellite A100-234: how to identify the good recovery CD

I have 20 laptops from TOSHIBA in my office. I have the CD of restoration for all laptops kept together. Now I want to reinstall my laptop A100-234.

How do I identify the recovery for this laptop CD.

I tried to use 3 different recovery CD. With all the CD Installation is done properly and reboot is requested. But the system does not start.

    Any suggestions?

Generally all recovery CD are labeled and you should see the name of the laptop on the recovery CD.
In order to compare the information on the CD with the numbers that lie at the bootom of the laptop.

  • Satellite A100 PSAA9A - drivers and applications from the recovery disk

This laptop was reformated HARD drive and I decided to try Windows 7 (beta), which is currently installed and working well. I would like to install the original drivers and applications from the Toshiba recovery disc but I don't want to reinstal the operating system (XP). Is this possible?

As far as I know that is not possible because applications from the recovery disk and drivers are for Windows XP and they are not compatible with Windows 7.
In addition it of not possible to install the only special drivers or applications from the recovery disc.

You can download all the drivers and tools on the site of Toshiba, but I doubt that it of compatible with Windows 7, but you can try it out and post your result here.
