Satellite A105-S2051 memory upgrade problems

Sorry for the huge block of text...

This is not my computer, but a problem I need to fix nonetheless.
I use a Toshiba A105-S2051 and I want to upgrade memory.

When I have the original 512 and a 1024, it works perfectly, and I can move them to a port without problem.
I also have a PNY 1024 that I can replace the other 1024 with and it works perfectly even in the two ports, but when I put the two 1024, it does not work (starts and stops quickly and repeatedly).

Similarly, even if I let one of the 1024 in but remove the 512, computer does the same thing.

Is the computer laptop for any reason + need + 512 to work?
This is no logical sense in the PC world, but I have no idea on laptops...

Hello

Just a question: last chart shows an empty slot.
Can you please check if the laptop works with all modules placed in this slot machine only?

    Hello

I know that the issue has been already discussed several times, but it seems that none of the solutions or suggestions posted earlier apply to my situation.
I recently bought an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300. The laptop has a slot filled memory of 64 MB module of the system's total memory was 128 MB.
Because in my opinion, the system has worked to slow down, I decided to buy an additional memory module. I bought 128 MB - module TOSHIBA PA3005U k and placed in the slot B

I was very surprised when I found that, after the upgrade, Windows showed that the total memory is 192 MB.
When I put the 128 MB in the slot module is and the old module of 64 MB in the slot B - the surprise was even bigger, given that windows showed only 128 MB.

I first thought that the slot B is defective, but in this case, it would be impossible to get in the first place the 192 MB. Then I thought that the new module of memory was either defective or it was 64 MB instead of 128 MB, but this option is also likely, according to my observations. Furthermore, I checked with EVEREST software system and it recognizes the new module as 128 MB module, but does not see the old 64 MB module.

The situation is quite strange. Does anyone has an idea whay happens?

    Kind regards

    Sebastian

To my knowledge, the 4300 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to 320 MB max.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5769&ft=m&St=3

64 MB module which was fitted with your laptop should not be removable.
So in this slot ONLY this 64 MB module could work properly.

I know it's strange but the computer world is sometimes strange ;) you know :D

  • In Satellite A105-S2236 RAM upgrade problems

I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.

I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.

Homepage of Kingston. You can find a list of all compatible RAM for your laptop model.

  • Satellite M50-165 memory upgrade problem

    Hello
I realized that I bought a model that is only sold in Saudi Arabia. This is the model of Satellite M50-165. I want to improve the memory, I bought memory from EBAY who said it works in M50 sieries, but he did not.

I read all the manuals in Toshiba, tried to contact by phone, they said that they do not have this model.

in any case, I'd appreciate any help in that matter, as I am looking to upgrade the system to its full potential, I guess 2 Giga.

    This description of the model:

    Model name: Satellite M50-165
    Model PSM50E-0NX02JFC number
    MP 740/512 / 60 G 54/14WBT/DS2/LM/W
    Series No. 26271662 K

It's memory, that I bought from EBAY dealer:

    Please advice me!

    Hello

you bought the bad RAM. You need DDR333/PC2700 memory for your machine (which is expandable to 2 GB). If you're lucky, then return/sell memory and buy a RAM with the specifications described above.

If you still have some questions then just ask.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A105-S4064: memory upgrade Questions

    Hello

I plan on upgrading the ram in my Toshiba A105-S4064 (preinstalled with 512 MB). I wanted to discover a few questions, if I could.

First of all, what RAM would be compatible to install in housing, no?

Second, the size of the new RAM should be the same as the RAM that is already installed (in other words, 512 MB)?

In addition, only adding the new RAM to a laptop invalid warranty Toshiba?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

I see that you have several questions about upgrading memory on your A105
OK I'll try to make the best, I hope ;)

Firstly you can upgrade the memory and the warranty still valid
Upgrading memory hasn t any bad influence on the validity of the guarantee

Second, you can mix the sizes of memory. … for example, you can use 256 + 512 or 512 + 1024 MB, etc.
This is possible because you can upgrade it to 4 GB max

And now finally something you kind of compatible modules it looks like you could use a DDR2 PC2-4200 533 MHz modules

I hope this info will help you :)

Any help would be most appreciated, Please help!

    Kind regards

    Paul.

There is no reason to discuss on the RAM upgrade, because things are clear: RAM upgrade will be successful if you use only compatible modules and module 1 GB for your laptop with PA3411U-2M1G part number.

Use two of them, and everything will be OK.

    Back to WXP stuff.
Installation of WXP can be quite complicated as all things, especially specific tools Toshiba and public services must be installed in the correct order. Before you begin to install Toshiba stuff, you must install common modules. It is a fundamental tool, and it must be installed first. Problem is that we support for your laptop model page, I can't find common modules for download.

What you can try is to install from the European page. You can find it HERE. Check it out.

  • Satellite A105-S2051: common Module not found. This configuration will be terminated

    Hello

I installed Windows XP but when I try to install any utility (like the Hotkey Utility) I get the message:

TOSHIBA common Module not found. This configuration will be terminated.

I can't find the "Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP" on the Toshiba web site. I tried the web site in English,

I tried every single link in the support for the Satellite A105-S2051 page.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

There is nothing like the Module 'common '.

I have lived a great incredible waste of time while searching for the reader.

So please, any help would be welcome.

    Hello

I found Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP (Toshiba value-added Logic Device) in some different sets of Satellite A105.

    For example: A105-S271 A105-S2711 A105-S361 A105-S3611, A105-S2719, A105-S2712, A105-S2713, A105-S2716, A105-S2717

Go for no apparent reason the A105-S2051 is not there.

However, try the Toshiba ACPI common Modules of different A105.

    Maybe the latter won't work.

  • Satellite S1800-204: memory upgrade

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite S1800-204 memory which I just try to improve, two sticks of Kingston, 64 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM (like the one provided with the laptop) to two sticks of Crucial 256 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM. The laptop will post more, and even if the power light is on it will not start. The screen remains black. The manual of user leads me to believe that it is capable of supporting up to 512 MB and I can not find all the features that say the new memory should not be working.

Can someone help to solve my problem or tell me where I have gone wrong? I hope we have not bombed just from all this money for nothing.

    Spanky

    Hello

Yes. I also think that you should check if your modules are compatible.
I found in the official document that this device supports these modules:

    PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25)
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)
    PC100 64 MB (PA3004U)

As far as I know that you can upgrade this laptop up. 512 MB memory SDRAM (2x256MB).

  • Satellite A105-S4014 and fingerpint problem

    Hello!

I have Satellite A105-S4014 (PSAA8U-O2200U) with Vista Ultimate and there is a problem of fingerprint reader. When I try to register my fingerprints (UPEK) using Protector Suite 5.8.0 program hangs for a while and then displays an error message: an internal error has occurred (rpnpipe:rpnpipe: No. - svr (00000001fusserver)).

For the fingerprint reader does not work.
I did a little research, tried the latest drivers and soft - nothing helped.
I also in the BIOS disabled TPM (I can't change) and I have a feeling that it is connected with my fingerprint reader problem (correct me if I'm wrong).

I upgraded my BIOS to 6.0 before this problem. Then I found on a forum for decommissioning of the BIOS to enable the TPM. So I downgraded to 5.1. Nothing works. Also I know that some manufacturers provide a BIOS setting that hides the TPM by default module.

Can someone help me to enable TPM in the BIOS or better give advice to get the fingerprint reader working?

    Hello

Your ad is a little confusing, but I'll try to help you as much as I can.

First, the Satellite A105-S4014 laptop belongs to the American TV series and was designed for the American market. Therefore all the drivers, tools or utilities must be downloaded from the page of the American pilot.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

This page provides the Toshiba Fingerprint Utility for Windows Vista and XP. You must have version * 5.6.0 Build 322 published 08/12/2006 *.

Remove your old application and perhaps not compatible and install this new v5.6.0 one.

  • Satellite A105-S2141 - software compatibility problem Modem region

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2141 computer laptop bought in the United States. I am currently in a small country knowm as "Maldives" and unable to successfully connect and use the modem connection.

The selection of region internal modem utility does not include the Maldives in the list and if I select a random country as "current location" I can connect only if I keep the speed of the modem at 2400. What should do? I tried the upgrade, but no uogrades are available. Other computers can connect normally on the same telephone line.

Kindly advice. Is there another available modem which can be downloaded? Any other loophole?

    Hello

You don't need to use this utility select region of preinstalled modem.
You can choose the Maldives using own settings of Windows.

Choose Control Panel-> Phone & Modem Options->-> my position (Edit button)-> country (Maldives) dialing rules

On the Modem tab, you can choose the modem you are using and can check the properties. Here, you can set the maximum port to a higher speed.

Cheers and enjoy yourself on Maldives... big Islands... I wish that I would have enough time and money for the holiday he...

    Hi guys,.

Could you tell me what is the motherboard installed in my Satellite chip?

And when I choose Control Panel > system > device > household devices > IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller > IDE channel base > avancΘs > current transfer type it shows me * does not *.

    Thx for any answer

Detailed specifications, you can find the Toshiba site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

However, you have an ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Chipset. The display driver contains the chipset driver.

I put t know your type of transfer does not apply.
You put the SATA mode in the BIOS to AHCI or compatible?

Chassis: HP Compaq 6000 Pro Compact

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @3. 00 GHz

    RAM: 2 x 1 GB

    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I can add more technical info on request.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

PS Please report any stupid error, I did. Stick and stones could not curb my bones.

  • Satellite A105-S2051 does not supply power to the top

I have a client who brought in their laptop, A105-s2051 that when you turned on the device, he would go on and then off. While you press the power button, it shut for about 2 seconds, then off, then on ect for 6 times and stay off.

I first replace the RAM always loop, then took off material one by one and tested, always in the loop. I then had the MB from the case and plugged in power, always looping on and outside. Checked the power supply, which was right. Also, tried every start with material missing with/without battery on each piece.

So I installed a new processor, always looping. Only thing left MB. Classes listed in MB, guess what, still a loop. Fixed several hundred laptops, did not run in this with a Toshiba before. (Another producer to do same thing once, turned the PS would lose slight tension after 5-6 seconds).

Here, I'm stumped, any help would be great. Thank you.

Which is really strange because you changed a lot of material.

Then I'd go to an official ASP. You will find a:

The original 2 GB key still works fine and the 2 GB key that I added back a bit works very well too (4 GB total).

But when I remove all the sticks and put in a new 4 GB stick the computer crashes in the POST just after the BIO 1024Mo of RAM (!). Looks like that the BIOS does not like the 4 GB stick! Compensation of the BIOS did not help.

Back original memory makes the computer works perfectly.

I am well aware of the memory manufacturer/type compatibility issues.

I tried 4 different memory of 4 GB sticks from 2 different sources with no luck.

2 I missed a setup or configuration to let the BIOS see the 4 GB memery stick?
