Satellite M50-165 memory upgrade problem

Hello
I realized that I bought a model that is only sold in Saudi Arabia. This is the model of Satellite M50-165. I want to improve the memory, I bought memory from EBAY who said it works in M50 sieries, but he did not.

I read all the manuals in Toshiba, tried to contact by phone, they said that they do not have this model.

in any case, I'd appreciate any help in that matter, as I am looking to upgrade the system to its full potential, I guess 2 Giga.

This description of the model:

Model name: Satellite M50-165
Model PSM50E-0NX02JFC number
MP 740/512 / 60 G 54/14WBT/DS2/LM/W
Series No. 26271662 K

It's memory, that I bought from EBAY dealer:

Please advice me!

Hello

you bought the bad RAM. You need DDR333/PC2700 memory for your machine (which is expandable to 2 GB). If you're lucky, then return/sell memory and buy a RAM with the specifications described above.

If you still have some questions then just ask.

Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro 4300 - memory upgrade problem

    Hello

I know that the issue has been already discussed several times, but it seems that none of the solutions or suggestions posted earlier apply to my situation.
I recently bought an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300. The laptop has a slot filled memory of 64 MB module of the system's total memory was 128 MB.
Because in my opinion, the system has worked to slow down, I decided to buy an additional memory module. I bought 128 MB - module TOSHIBA PA3005U k and placed in the slot B

I was very surprised when I found that, after the upgrade, Windows showed that the total memory is 192 MB.
When I put the 128 MB in the slot module is and the old module of 64 MB in the slot B - the surprise was even bigger, given that windows showed only 128 MB.

I first thought that the slot B is defective, but in this case, it would be impossible to get in the first place the 192 MB. Then I thought that the new module of memory was either defective or it was 64 MB instead of 128 MB, but this option is also likely, according to my observations. Furthermore, I checked with EVEREST software system and it recognizes the new module as 128 MB module, but does not see the old 64 MB module.

The situation is quite strange. Does anyone has an idea whay happens?

    Kind regards

    Sebastian

To my knowledge, the 4300 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to 320 MB max.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5769&ft=m&St=3

64 MB module which was fitted with your laptop should not be removable.
So in this slot ONLY this 64 MB module could work properly.

I know it's strange but the computer world is sometimes strange ;) you know :D

  • Satellite A105-S2051 memory upgrade problems

Sorry for the huge block of text...

This is not my computer, but a problem I need to fix nonetheless.
I use a Toshiba A105-S2051 and I want to upgrade memory.

When I have the original 512 and a 1024, it works perfectly, and I can move them to a port without problem.
I also have a PNY 1024 that I can replace the other 1024 with and it works perfectly even in the two ports, but when I put the two 1024, it does not work (starts and stops quickly and repeatedly).

Similarly, even if I let one of the 1024 in but remove the 512, computer does the same thing.

Is the computer laptop for any reason + need + 512 to work?
This is no logical sense in the PC world, but I have no idea on laptops...

    Hello

Just a question: last chart shows an empty slot.
Can you please check if the laptop works with all modules placed in this slot machine only?

  • Satellite S1800-204: memory upgrade

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite S1800-204 memory which I just try to improve, two sticks of Kingston, 64 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM (like the one provided with the laptop) to two sticks of Crucial 256 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM. The laptop will post more, and even if the power light is on it will not start. The screen remains black. The manual of user leads me to believe that it is capable of supporting up to 512 MB and I can not find all the features that say the new memory should not be working.

Can someone help to solve my problem or tell me where I have gone wrong? I hope we have not bombed just from all this money for nothing.

    Spanky

    Hello

Yes. I also think that you should check if your modules are compatible.
I found in the official document that this device supports these modules:

    PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25)
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)
    PC100 64 MB (PA3004U)

As far as I know that you can upgrade this laptop up. 512 MB memory SDRAM (2x256MB).

    Hello Jim

My colleague from work the same As model of mobile and he uses it to Web design and type a few codes to our database. From time to time, I'm sitting near his office and several times I looked at what he do exactly. Believe me that there are no such problems.

It is important to say that his book is preinstalled with recovery image and slightly modified for our enterprise security needs.

Can you please tell us since when you noticed this problem with keyboard? Are you also using recovery image and have you ever tried to fix this somehow? Have you noticed any other strange questions about your Satellite phone as a disk busy, high utilization of the processor or something similar?

I can add more technical info on request.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

PS Please report any stupid error, I did. Stick and stones could not curb my bones.

    Hello

Well, it's not easy to say why you can t burn on some media. Maybe it s a malfunction of the media?
Have you tried to burn CDs or DVDs from different manufacturers?
I use TDK media and I m very happy. I found an interesting article on the CD/DVD burning.

I'm trying to age 5 years Veriton M498G memory upgrade my son of 4 GB to 12 GB now when I upgaded to Windows 7 64 bit.

The original 2 GB key still works fine and the 2 GB key that I added back a bit works very well too (4 GB total).

But when I remove all the sticks and put in a new 4 GB stick the computer crashes in the POST just after the BIO 1024Mo of RAM (!). Looks like that the BIOS does not like the 4 GB stick! Compensation of the BIOS did not help.

I bought a module of memory of 128 MB (128 MB 144pin SODIMM PC100 3.3V CL = 2) of technology crucial to take my ram up to the maximum of 160 MB.

When I install the RAM, the computer doesn't recognize it, and I get no error while starting the system, the system shows still 32 MB

    Concerning

    Scott Bremner

    Hi Scott,.

I suggest these two modules autour swapping or just use the new 128 MB module to the main location.

Also, make sure that the modules of memory are firmly and correctly locked in place.

The normal recommendation is to use only authentic RAM Toshiba modules, but personally, I use the RAM modules that I got from ORCA, so I don't think that there should be no problem with your crucial.

I have exactly the same problem as Juan29. Link to his post below.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=15837&MessageID=57907

I want to improve my Toshiba Satellite pro 4340 to 320 MB of ram.
The computer came with 64 internal RAM and I bought 2 x 128 MB of ram.

My problem is that the second (B) ram slot does not detect the new ram.
2 x 128 MB of ram were tested both in the ram slot (A) and work.
I thought that a bios upgrade would solve the problem, but it didn't.

I have the same defective (B) housing like Juan or does it have
    a solution?

    Help, please.

    What memory did you use?
I've found that these modules are compatible:
    PA3003U - 1 M 03 32MB MEMORY KIT
    PA3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB MEMORY KIT
    PA3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB KIT MEMORY

I think there could be a problem of compatibility of the module.
