Satellite A110 - BIOS for Win7 and FN key features

Hello
I installed the new Windows 7 on my computer laptop toshiba a110 and surprisingly almost every device was dected and installed by win7. There is problem with PCMCIA driver for Vista solved the problem. But I always have problems with the function keys and of the extra buttons. Do you know which driver should I install to operate the keys Fn?
Either way, I would ask if toshiba will be dedicated for toshiba satellite A110 Windows 7 drivers?

I have another problem with the BIOS.
I have seen that there is new bios update available for my laptop but I don't know which version should I use for WINDOWS 7?
01/21/09
Update the BIOS
Toshiba Windows Vista 32 bit 5, 40 - WIN World Wide
01/21/09
Update the BIOS
Toshiba OS independent 2, 00 - WIN World Wide

I thought that if I have win7 OS independent bios update should be fine for me, but in this version, there is a warning, that 2, 00 - bios WIN is not dedicated for users of Vista. I've heard that Windows 7 is based on Vista OS so I don't completely now which version should I choose.

Waiting for help
Simon

I assume that your Satellite A110 will not be supported for Win7. This means that you probably won't be able to find any driver, tool or utility designed for Win7.
In my opinion, you should be happy that Win7 works and you have no serious problems with the physical property of work. Then you probably need to have lived without some specific features of Toshiba FN options, but most of them, you can use in different contexts.

On the BIOS I say not a lot but, as far as I know, Toshiba will offer no special Win7 BIOS update for old models of laptops and if everything works well, you have to update BIOS at all.
In any case for me, it makes sense to use the latest version of the BIOS that is designed for Vista OS.

  • Question about product key for Win7 and upgrade Win8

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the impression that it is a key to general product on the back of most mobile phones HYF8J-CVRMY-CM74G-RPHKF-*.

If I bought the victory 8 update and it activated on my * office * (assuming I installed win7 using this key) what does that mean? Since it is a General key on many laptops.

This means that I am legally eligible to upgrade?

    Hello

Above all, the key of Win 7 you can find on the lower part belongs to the preinstalled image.
It is the key of Win 7. Your Windows 7 system has already been activated by default

    Now to win 8 upgrade:
Visit this page to upgrade Toshiba EU win 8 for details:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/Windows8-message

The upgrade to win 8 is available if you purchased a PC preloaded with genuine Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, professional or ultimate edition between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013.

If your laptop is NOT bought between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, you will not be able to move from Win 7 to 8 Win, but you can buy the full version of Win 8.
The key would be provided by Microsoft mail.

  • Re: Satellite L300-254 - need Win XP driver for WLan and FN keys

I have laptop satellite L300-254 pslbge and have problems with drivers. This computer was emty (no recovery disk or drivers) then I bought it.

I installed Win XP SP 2 disabling AHCI. Instaled the common Modules, Chip Set Utility, and when I try to install the drivers of controls (for the Fn keys). It is said that I did not install common Modules.

Tried to install the WiFi drivers (realtek, but I do not know if the wlan hardware is realtek), but it is not recognized in Device Manager, (? ethernet controller), Lan works well.

So please help me with wlan and the Fn keys problems

    Hey Buddy!

I m using a Satellite L300 too with XP and I t notice any problem. It works correctly and the Web from Toshiba site displays all the drivers and tools for this.

However, firstly everything that you should make sure that you have installed all the drivers for your laptop. The site Web of Toshiba shows only Realtek driver for WIFI then I guess you have Realtek WLAN card. You can run setup.exe to install drivers or if you get an error message?
If you are not sure, you can also check what WLAN card you have on this site:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/
The vendor and device ID, you can see in-online WLAN card properties Device Manager.

Toshiba tools for FN keys, I can only say that you must install applications first Toshiba and then all the other common Modules. Common modules are required for all Toshiba applications works. Then remove the tools installed Toshiba and use this installation order that I used successfully on my Satellite L300:
    Toshiba Common modules
    TOSHIBA Hotkey utility
    Toshiba Touchpad POWER utility
    Toshiba Utilities
    Toshiba controls
TOSHIBA Power Saver (not necessary, but very nice tool).

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A110 - BIOS password after update BIOS interruption

    Hello

I have a Satellite A110, I did a flash update using the Phoenix utility within windows XP. Upgrade flash my office, I need to disconnect the battery to be placed to restart the laptop. After that whenever I try to turn on the laptop it ask me a password on the BIOS but I never put a password in the BIOS.

    How can I please?

    See you soon,.

    David

    Hello David

I believe that no one here can say with certainty what was happen exactly after the update of the BIOS. The fact is that the BIOS password can be removed by service provider only. Contact the nearest service provider and explain the situation.

I'm sure they can know what was happen exactly and help you remove the BIOS password.

  • Is it true that MS has created some files updated bios for WIN7. for old motherboards from Intel?

My MB is an INTEL D965GF and I have loaded WIN7 Pro on what works well enough most of the time.  The Intel BIOS provides from time to time however causes some problems.  First and foremost it is a part of the BIO of labeled ME which was protected by when I received the seller MB and no matter what, I can't break this password.  So, I can't access the parameter/s inside the part of the bios.  Any ideas? There seems to be nothing about it on the INTEL Web site.   BTW, that program seems to have something to do with security for professional use.

Second, the system is loading too slowly IMHO, which I think is due to the use of a bios that is designed for Windows XP.

If you know any source for BIOS files to MS or even any other site, please let me know if I can get this machine working with WIN7,

    Thank you very much

    Jer

Microsoft would never write a BIOS for the material, it's down to the manufacturer to make their Windows-compatible hardware. Intel would be the only source for BIOS for an Intel motherboard and a consortium which defines standards of material for which Windows accedes, it is unlikely that the motherboard is not compatible.

The BIOS level password clearing procedure differs from most manufacturers because there is a menu of specific maintenance. The procedure is here for Intel just in case you've not seen. You can also remove the battery for about 30 seconds with the power disconnected must reset the ME admin password.

    Hi gryloo,

You can download all the drivers for your laptop on this page:

  • Satellite L750 - BIOS check error and now the screen is blank

Good yesterday my laptop was working fine and was recommended to an update of the BIOS so I downloaded and tried while he was hooked up to update the BIOS, at half way through she says check error and nothing else, I therefore closed the BIOS window thing and close the cover I did not stop the computer.

Today, I opened the lid and just fan continues to operate and the CPU light flashing but nothing else. What should I do? I tried the F12 and F2 method, nothing happens the screen does not come on, I will try to use an external monitor later in the day, but I don't think that is the problem.

Thanks in advance even if I'm not all green if it's a BIOS problem. The laptop is less than 6 months old.

    Hey,.

    > I'll try to use an external monitor later today, but I don't think that's the problem.
I put also don't think the monitor is the problem if it happened since the BIOS update.

    > if this is a BIOS problem
With other words, turned something went wrong during the update of the BIOS and now it s a BIOS problem. Updating the BIOS is always a little risky If you do the update only if it of really necessary. Don t update the BIOS if you see there is a new version, but everything is ok. Never touch a running system ;)

In any case, now you need an ASP to get rid of this aid. Guys have to reflash the ROM module professional tools:

    > The laptop is less than 6 months old
It makes no difference if the noebook is 6 months or 6 years ;)

  • Satellite A660-1DW - fault LED and arrow keys

I just bought an A660-1DW. Everything seems to work fine except that the arrow and DELkeys do not always work. Most of the time they are very good, but maybe once in every twenty depressions you must press the button twice or even three times or he press very hard to make it work.

This is a new laptop, and no liquid has been spilled on it.

I found an entry in the knowledge base that deals with a similar problem for other types of satellites, but not the 'A' series. He recommended to switch off, remove the battery, wait awhile and turn with FN / N / 1 keys at the same time. I did, but it has no effect.

Someone had a similar problem? I have to send the laptop back to fix, or is there something I can do myself?

All opinions and advice are welcome.

    Matt.

    Hello

    > I found an entry in the knowledge base that deals with a similar problem for other types of satellites, but not the series "A". He recommended to switch off, remove the battery, wait awhile and turn with FN / N / 1 keys at the same time. I did, but it has no effect.

The described issue was slightly different. It's a keyboard delay which has not assigned a particular button, but all the keys on the keyboard. But this has been fixed by the BIOS updated.

In your case, it sounds like keyboard problem
    Perhaps it should be replaced

  • Satellite Pro C650 - arrow, slash and z keys do not work

Can anyone help - my slash keys, arrow keys, z and question marks have stopped working.
I saw several other posts on different forums for exactly the same combination of keys.

    I have a Satellite Pro C650.

Looks like a malfunction of the keyboard.
You can use the external USB keyboard properly?
If you haven't noticed the same problems with the external keyboard, then I would recommend replacement of the internal keyboard.

  • S50 satellite - B - 14 M - button and function keys switch F

So, I posted this a few days ago on plateau "Tools & Utilities", but did not answers, then maybe I should be more patient. But, since this forum seems to be a little more active, I thought I would try it here as well. Who knows, maybe some people with a Satellite S have experienced the same thing!

I looked for an answer on google and this forum for days, but were not able to find something useful (especially in combination with 'windows 10', I have no idea if install had no effect in the present).

I installed Windows 10 last week, and I don't know if it's the 'problem' at the start, but since yesterday I've been aware of the fact that the 'modus special function"F - keys (i.e. the function in which you don'thave to store the function key to access the special functions under the (former) F keys) no longer works.

    I have already tried:
    -My system restarts
-Control Panel > keyboard > function key modus (but which has been defined correctly!).
-Tried any combination of Fn with any other possible key.

So I don't know what the problem is. It might have something to do with the $ 10 Windows?

    Details:
    Toshiba Satellite S50 - B - 14 M
Pre-installed with Windows 8.1, upgraded to Windows 10 Home last Tuesday

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

I solved it myself! Turns out I just needed another obvious solution: reinstall the utility function of key driver.

    Well done!

Thanks for sharing the solution with us!

  • Updating BIOS for Win7 on Pavilion DV6000

    Hello

I have an older HP Pavilion DV6000 with 4 GB of RAM (2 GB RAM upgrade).    However, only 2.69 GB can be used.   It has been suggested that I have upgraded the BIOS and turn "remapping memory."    The OS is Win7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.

l has a problem to find good BIOS upgrade.

Currently, the version of the BIOS is F.3D

    Processor: AMD Turion 64 x 2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 Ghz

    Product ID: 00359-062-3478866-85570

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as my new software needs more RAM to work.

    Thank you!

    Sam

    You are the very welcome.

Chart type is the main factor.

Even if your laptop has a Nvidia graphics card, a system memory is set aside for the graphics.

There is nothing you can do to change the amount of memory usable in your PC, unfortunately.

  • SDHC-Card-Driver for Win7 and Portege M200?

ICH is not SDHC-Card-Driver for Windows 7 and the Portage M200.
Either way... work the SD Card Reader in the M200 with linux (ubuntu) and someone has a link with instructions?

    Sorry for my bad English.

You could try the Win7 driver card to a similar newer model reader, such as the Portege M400. Have a look here: http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/drivers_au.htm

Also run WindowsUpdate Control Panel, it can find a driver automatically.

When I start my laptop after hibernation and connect to any network hang up and LAN Realtek laptop freez. I am trying too use latest driver for Realtek, but he still freez. Pleas help.

I have twice the recovery of product recovery and still freez and hang up.

    Pleas help.

    Hello

I have no idea why it happens, but I'll try to give some advice.
    Maybe this will help you:

Try to access the properties of the LAN card. This can be done through the Manager of devices (click right-properties)
There you should find a tab with different option. First of all, you should try to disable the save option.
Check in the BIOS if the setting Wake on settings is OS controlled.

    Then proceed as follows:
    1. click on [start]-> [Control Panel]-> [Toshiba HWSetup]-> [LAN] tab
    2. enable Wake-up on LAN
    3. click on [apply]. System will ask to restart.
    4. after restarting click [start]-> [Control Panel]-> select [System]
    5. the system properties dialogue box select [Hardware] tab-> click [Device Manager]
    6. in the Device Manager dialog box, select [network adapters]-> double-click [Intel (r) PRO/100 VE Network Connection]
    7. go to the [Advanced] tab-> property [Wake on settings] select-> Select [Wake on Magic & realized] and press [OK] to close the dialog box.
