We have around this simply by avoiding the selection of the browser prompt, but would still have problems every few months, IE being told there was a communication problem with the DNS server.
  We did the usual stuff: unplug the modem for a few minutes and sometimes he would settle the matter, but only temporarily.

  Usually, as soon as the first problem arises, it would be just a matter of time until we could get no connection whatsoever. The only thing that could make it work again was a complete restoration of the system, we have done 5/6 times over the months.
