Satellite A200 load questions

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my problem.

I own a Satellite A200 laptop.
A few days ago, I noticed that while it was connected, the load icon told me he was "plugged in, not charging.
I removed the battery while it was still plugged (fact that before, never no problem), when all of a sudden everything just turned off.
I put the battery back in and nothing. It wouldn't boot, even with the head.

I called technical support and arranged to have picked it up. Shortly after the phone call, I managed to do start again taking the power on button for 10 seconds. I plugged the charger drive in and it was "plugged and charge.
Only he was in charge very slowly. A few hours later and it was only up to 37% of load, so it took maybe 15-20% of a load.

A little later, I disconnected the cable. Therefore, the battery would not take a charge.

I thought that the problem could be with the charger, but using another appropriate charger has not remedied the problem.
Then, I assumed that it was the battery. A new battery arrived this morning, but that will not take a charge either.

I am now left with a vague belief that it may be the charging circuit. But in all honesty, this is just a stab in the dark.

He sends out of the tech guys will cost me 10 to 14 days, something I'd like to avoid. So why am I here and post.

Advice, suggestions, news, whatever they might be would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like the motherboard may have a problem of power circuit. I would like to send the system to an ASP for a quote.

    Hello

I have the Satellite A200-1TS with bios vista x 64 vers.2.60 and I upgraded the RAM with (slot 1 and slot 2) each module 2 GB 800 MHz, and work, but the cpu - z program is detect the TIMINGS TABLE frequency is what is good for 800 MHz to 400 MHz, but the DRAM frequency is always working with 332,5 MHz (667 mhz).

What is the problem? Can I do something to work at 400 MHz?

    Hello

I think that the RAM works on 333 MHz because it s always according to the FSB of the processor.
It seems therefore that the CPU has a 333 MHz FSB and RAM also runs on this speed.

  • Satellite A200-1CR: Question about upgrade HARD drive

    Hi all...
I would like to ask something...

I have toshiba Satellite A200-1cr with 120 GB HARD drive...

I would like to change my HARD drive. I found a disk hard 2.5 "with 250 GB.

    My questions are the following:

    (1) my knowledge of the workstations are very very good. Is it easy to change myself?
I guess it is, but I want to be sure... I guess that is on IDE, right? No SATA at all?

    (2) if I changed it I lose my warranty?

    (3) can I give my laptop Toshiba in Greece official store and let them make the change?
May I take in an informal shop, too?

    (4) can be put on the laptop 2 x 250 GB such US new computers laptops from toshiba?
Is there enough space in the laptop for such a change?

    Thank you in advance...

    Hey Buddy

It is good that ask you the question.

    (1) the Satellite A200-1CR supports SATA and no IDE interface and that's why you need a SATA HDD. It of really not difficult to replace the HARD drive and as far as I know, you should find a few details in the user manual. There is a useful statement and photos that explain the entire procedure.

    (2) hm AFAIK the drive replacement HARD will not void the warranty, and has no effect on the State of security.

    (3) you can also contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for a HARD drive replacement, but in my opinion that is not really necessary because the replacement is not very sensitive. As I said above, check the user manual.

    (4) I don t think that your laptop will support 2 x 250 GB HARD drive.
Of course, there are a few other series laptops which are abele to support two hard drives but I n t think that your laptop A200 support.

Just a small comment on the new HARD drive:
The fact is that some more HARD drive are not supported by the BIOS. I mean an upgrade to 120 GB to 250 GB drive HARD is really a leap one possibly your BIOS would not recognize the HARD drive correctly.
So I recommend to test the HDD first before buying.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 - strange question after updating the graphics driver

The problem is with the driver Mobile Intel (r) 965 Express Chipset Family. System: Grand VISTA 32 bit Home Premium Service Pack 1. Laptop: Satellite A200.

I have installed the new driver of this (suggestion by Toshiba TEMPO) source:

    http://CE.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?id=65340&OSID=26&drive rLanguage = 42 & SOURCE = TEMPO & LNG = 20

After switching on the computer, the system is constantly asking me ("warning on securities"), whether to execute (open) 3 files: C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe /... hkcmd.exe /... igfxpers.exe. Disabling the option "Always ask before opening the file" does not help. I have to choose the option "Open / cancel / close" to continue the implementation of the windows (an option to switch). Please don't forget that I translated above mentioned communications of poles.

Answer to the question, I received the support of Intel (r):

++ This is not really a problem with our drivers. This is related to the rights of the user/administrator and security functions defined by Windows * Vista. ++

    Yours faithfully,

    Maciej Kochan

When you install the drivers, you must right click on the EXE file and choose "Run as Administrator".

You should also temporarily disable your security software or reconfigure it to allow the file system.
Tools such as AdAware and Spybot spyware removal (or spyware in your Internet Security package tool) may block the file system.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - question of upgrading the Bios

I have a Satellite A200 PSAF6A and I am trying to upgrade the Bios as the current has a virus or something in it and I want to know how to do this with a floppy disk based BACK or how to make a boot disk for bios.

Any help would be so appreciated thanks.

    > I'm trying to upgrade the Bios because the current has a virus or something in it
    Virus in the BIOS?
Sorry mate but I put t believe that! Why do you think the ROM module where the BIOS is stored could be affected by the virus?

In addition, the traditional BIOS (BACK as you say) is not available for download!
You can find a BIOS based on the victory and these BIOS can be updated from windows system!

I also didn't try to install Win 7 RC on my laptop
I think you can try this to test the new Win 7 OS but I wouldn't recommend installing if you want to use it as a compensation for Win XP or Win Vista.

I want to say this version is a beta and there are still many bugs and security risks
So I would wait for a final version, but to test its ok

  • A few questions on the Satellite A200-1BJ

    Dear Sir.

A couple of days, I bought laptop Toshiba Satellite A200-1BJ of Jarir Book Store, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The system configuration is provided by the company.
Operating system: Windows Vista editions Home Premium
300 hard drive space is divided into two partitions:
    C - Vista with Go 138
D data disk seen 139 GK

When buying the laptop, I had only the recovery CD and there is no Drivers CD. Three years agao, at the time of buying laptop toshiba, I got the drivers CD as well with the recovery CD. Why the driver CD does not come in the current edition of the laptop.
I need to install a software application which requires about 200 GB of space. In this regard, I have the following questions for which I want explanation from you to guide me to take the appropriate action.

    (a) I want to create a new 50 GB partition using the free space on the C drive. How can I do this? If possible, so I can install my application software by merging 50 GB with the D drive space.

    (b) can I change the configuration of HARD disk space by installing the new copy of windows vista operating system. During the installation of the operating system, it will ask for the disk partition in this case, I'll format the C drive current and have a new partition of C (78 GB) and D (190 GB). Is this possible.

    (c) If b is possible, so how do I install all drivers in the system currently installed with, since Toshiba Co. don't did not provide me with the driver CD. How

Can I get the drivers CD. Do I have to load all the drivers of webside and create a DVD of the same thing?
Waiting for your response, which will allow me to take the appropriate decision.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards.
    N. Rama Krishna Pai

    > Three years ago, at the time of buying laptop Toshiba, I got the drivers CD as well with the recovery CD. Why the driver CD does not come in the current edition of the laptop.

I put t know exactly why Toshiba has decided to only provide the recovery CD and not the driver CD with the laptop, but all the drivers that are preinstalled on the laptop are on the Toshiba driver page. Given that all computer users have access to the internet, it should t be a problem with the driver download!
Also the restore CD contains the entire image of Toshiba with all the pre-installed driver, tools and utilities.

    > I want to create a new 50 GB partition using the free space on the C drive. How can I do this?
You can do it in Vista disk management.
You can reduce the C partition and on free space, you can activate a partition of second or third.

    > Can I change the configuration of HARD disk space by installing the new copy of the windows vista operating system?
To my knowledge, this is not possible using the Toshiba Vista recovery CD.
    But check the proposal above!

    > If b is possible, so how do I install all drivers in the system currently installed with, as Toshiba not did not provide me with the driver CD.
B is not possible, but as already mentioned, the drivers are on the Toshiba page

    > Can I get the drivers CD. Do I have to load all the drivers from the website and create a DVD of the same thing?
This CD can be obtained, because it does not exist. Download driver page.

  • Satellite A200 - question format HARD drive after replacing

    Hello

I know this is probably a stupid question to ask as I am not that great with computers.
I have problems with my hard drive from my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop.

Now, when I took it out it was a 120 GB so I bought another Seagate 320 GB hard drive to replace it.
Now can I just put it back in or do I have to format the known brand hard drive.

So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    Hello

New HARD drive should be recognized by the laptop properly.
If you purchased a HARD drive 2.5 SATA, so I put t see serious reasons why this HARD drive is not working.

Once the HARD drive has been replaced, boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. The HARD drive must be formatted during the installation procedure
    That article should work

  • Could not load the BIOS after RAM upgrade - Satellite A200

    Hello

I've updated my RAM memory on my laptop Thishiba Satellite A200 (from 2 GB to 4 GB) but unfortunately now I can't enter the BIOS. Automatically load the operating system (windows 7 64 bit).

How can I solve my problem?

P.S. The new RAM works perfectly and it is recognized by Windows 7.

I don't know what you've done and why this happens, but what you can do is to check if the quick start option is enabled.
Open Toshiba Assist > optimize > HWSetup > priority Boot and check the startup speed option it.
Remember that it is set to Normal.

    Please, check and send comments.

  • Re: Satellite A200 Windows crash when loading according to the decision

    Hello

Recently, I had problems with my laptop during booting. Whenever I start my laptop after a stop, my laptop goes down while windows tries to load. However, when I try to start it up for the 2nd time, windows works perfectly. I tried to do the repair start several times but each time the laptop hangs on the window to the loading screen when I try to start it after the next stop.

You are able to help me please because I don't think it's good to have it down whenever I turn it on my laptop.

Thank you for your time and help,

NOTE: I have the Satellite A200, running Windows Vista. Oh and recently I posted a problem with my computer laptop freeze after awakening from a sleep. I don't know if the two are related: S

    Hello

You see, the windows repair is a fairly complicated procedure. I don't know if reinstalling the operating system is acceptable to you, but I would recommend.
You can use image disk or hard drive recovery. And don't forget to save all the necessary staff.
Even though I know that a lot of things about windows troubleshooting, I prefer reinstall problems rather fixing that can take a long time.

  • Satellite A200 - 28 p - question when it starts

    Hello

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 28 p in October, it's a great laptop, but I always had a problem when it starts.

Occasionally, and I mean at random without cause, when I turn it on the lights of disk hard flash but it beeps twice and nothing happens.
I have to turn it off and try again, I found the best way to solve the problem is open and close the lid a couple of times and then try and start the machine. I took it to PC world where I bought it and they were a less useless place, the first time the ' + technician + ' said that he had set and it was losing RAM, when I asked if he had reproduced in fact he he looks some what confused.

I took his word, even thought that I had done my own research that pointed to a problem of graphic\screen and took it home. Of course the problem reproduced immediately in a day or two, the second time I took it back they suggested because its so casual, that it is and I find no reproducible model, that it would not be worth sending away.

Can anyone shed light on what could be the cause of this? It doesn't seem to affect the machine somehow when his works actually, checked all the Windows event logs and nothing so its occurring long before that.

The second question is much easy one of my CTRL keys has broken the key is fine, is there anywhere I can get a replacement Cap? Please do not say PC World!

    Thank you
    Jon

    Hello

I put t know why it happened, but to me this looks like a motherboard or RAM problem but I don't know m.
The RAM, you can check with Memtest86. It s a special diagnostic for the RAM and the freeware tool. Use Google to find out.

In addition if Memtest86 can t find a problem your laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop. They can determine what the problem is and they also have experience in laptop disassembly.
And a new keyboard, you can also get to an authorized service provider.

Sorry, but at the moment I can t tell more.

  • Questions about the discs of recovery and partitioning Satellite A200-QH0

I bought a model of Satellite A200-QH0 in Australia and due to the lack of forums in our country, I would like to ask a few questions here if that's ok.

The book contains 3 partitions - partition "EISA Configuration" of 1.6 GB, the great partition of the BONE and the recovery partition. So I did the recovery DVD? s using the Recovery Disc Creator tool, as we are not provided with a real disk. But I would like to know what will make these records? My questions:

    1. they really will return that disc hard back to the _exactly_ how he was including the partition layout and software pre-installed?
2 will be the recovery DVD works even if the disk has been repartioned? I would like to divide the system partition to give space for the files of data etc. But this extra partition will stop the recovery procedure works correctly?

Please understand that I'm not interested in reformatting the entire disk. I want to just split the partition from the OS. But in case I need to replace the disk in the future or something, I would like to know how to close to 'original', these disks will make me, no matter what I do on the disc?

    Thank you
    Dave

    Hello

I m not 100% sure how recovery works on the Australian laptops computers Toshiba, but I presume that the restore CD contains the image of Toshiba with the operating system Windows, drivers, tools and utilities.
I think that if you want to use the recovery CD then the whole HARD drive will be formatted and all partitions will be erased.

I think that the recovery partition is not created using the recovery CD because the CD of restoration has already been created for the recovery partition is no longer necessary

    Hello
How do you assign more memory to the graphics card on laptop Satellite A200-1V0?
    Thank you

    Hello

in your case it s not possible to change the size of graphics by yourself, memory as graphics memory in your machine is shared with main memory, so if you upgrade main memory and graphics memory should increase. But this question is governed by the chipset and the user has no influence on it.

    Welcome them
