Satellite A210 PSAFGE - is my dead battery?

Hello

my Toshiba Satellite A210 PSAFGE-06900RGR battery is 48% damaged and only 31000mWh can be charged more.

This means that 2900mWh are lost due to the memory effect.

Is - this warranty?

48% damaged after 1.5 years?
I just want to try a tool called "Batterieanimator" but to use it I need to know the voltage of the battery that the computer turns off.

Sorry for my English... :)
Or are there other ways to revive my battery?

Hello

I think the battery needs to be replaced.
Always it is that, sooner or later, every battery would die or lose the performance...
Battery is covered under warranty for 12 months (a year).

I think your battery is old and so it s not covered by the warranty
This means that you will need for a new battery

Check the used battery part number (remove it from the laptop) and use this part number to find a few online merchants offering this battery.

Welcome them

On my new Satellite A210 PSAFG I installed Windows XP with SP2. I found most of the driver sound card drivers including on the site Web of Toshiba. After installing the driver card is not sound.

There is no yellow question mark at the hardware level. It seems that all good. Sounds and multimedia, there is no hardware shown.
Also under directx (dxdiag) there is no indicated his card.

    Can anyone help please?

    Hi bonnie

I would recommend using the forum s advanced search option because this question was already asked and the solution has been provided repeatedly.

I remember that some important fixes and patches from Microsoft must be installed.
You must use website update MS for all patches and fixes as the windows update option don t automatically install all required updates.

Then I recommend to download the site of Realek audio driver and install it again.

Best regards and happy new year ;)

  • Satellite A500 - update BIOS with dead battery

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A500 (PSAR3E) laptop and I need to update the BIOS to the latest version.
Unfortunately, my battery died completely, and I have no chance to get a working one.

I was trying to update the bios all day, but no matter how I try (even created a boot back drive and took command line phlash16, /forceit and so on) it keeps telling me that he needs at least 10% charged battery present.

How can this problem be solved?

    > If I remove the battery, engine update fails, say there is no battery present, if I fix the battery, then update will fail saying the battery must be at least 10% - but he died, this percentage is 0.
And you write about original Win version that you have downloaded from the Toshiba BIOS download page and started in Windows?

To be honest is unclear to me that there is a trick to avoid this situation.
Maybe something stupid, but now, do you really need to install the update to the BIOS?
Is there a problem with your machine?

  • Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR) - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hey guys,.

I'm happy with my Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR), but I had some problems with the Energiesaving Mode on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
I read on the internet that a BIOS update would be useful on the download site there is only 1 update of the BIOS and that includes WinPhlash but WinPhlash does not work on Vista or Windows 7.

Because there is no other update tools on the host and my machine was delivered with the Vista operating system. Because of this, I created a bootable usb key with phlash16.exe and the 'm10a190.rom' I've renamed "bios.wph" on this subject.
When I start BACK and enter ' phlash16/x', my laptop starts the Application and I see a progressbar crossing. After perhaps a second I see the main menu of Phlash16 but it freezes until I am able to do something (the keyboard doesn't respond when I press a button).

Do you know what I did wrong, or is it not possible to update my BIOS?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to receive your reply soon.
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

I also checked the Web from Toshiba site for BIOS update on a series of Satellite A210 PSAFGE and it shows an update to BIOS version 1.90. This update is based on Windows and it will appear on all versions of Windows (XP, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64-bit). So perhaps you can explain what you mean with it doesn't work under Vista. You get an error message?

I understand that the update doesn't work on Windows 7 because at the moment are no drivers available for this system in that time so the update should only be done on XP or Vista. I put t understand why try to Flash the BIOS in DOS mode. It's really risky and you can destroy the ROM module in the worst cases.

I did also update the BIOS on my laptop, I did:
-Update the BIOS on a Toshiba preinstalled OS
-J' was logged in as an administrator
-J' closed all the running background processes and programs, also the antivirus, firewall and internet connection
-J' extracted all the files to zip archive and start the update has been done successfully.

    I hope I could help you! :)

  • How to identify the model number Toshiba Satellite A210

    Hello

I have a Satellite A210, now, I would buy an extra RAM. On all the Ive visited the site, they ask for a little more information. They ask for a Satellite A210...
I looked at the sticker on the bottom of the laptop, but that only shows the A210. My model number is PSAFGA-078019. Where can I find what is supposed to come after the 210?

    Thank you

    Hello

All information must be posted at the bottom of the unit.
There are a few labels including details such as the model number, serial number, etc.

But to be honest that the Satellite A210 PSAFGA 078019 is not a European Toshiba model.
It s possibly an Australian / New Zealand series.

I googled for the number PSAFGA-078019 and get some information.
It seems that the laptop is called Satellite A210/801

However, the laptop should support the same modules as the other units A210 and compatible modules supports these specifications:
    * DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM *.

    See you soon

For your model laptop you need 6-cell batteries. You can use:
    PA3534U-1BRS
    PA3534U-1BAS

Put the part number in www.google.uk and you'll find enough shops where you can order online.
If you do not contact online store closest to Toshiba service provider. They can order battery for you by Toshiba directly.

  • Satellite A210 - battery and no boot

    Hello!

I used my about 4 years by Satellite A210BX as usual two days ago. The next day, I wanted to start the computer, but it does not start. Just brought an error message indicating "dead battery"... So I searched the Toshiba site and found that it might be the RTC battery for the time and date settings. The laptop battery was fully charged during the last night, but it still does not boot to the top. Just a black screen and you can hear the fan running. But nothing else. No BIOS, no letters on the screen, just nothing :-( If the laptop is loaded via a regular power outlet in the front of the case three LEDS are on (the cable, the SDNA circle battery smbolshe). All three symbols are blue, flashing light.

The advice I can do now? I found an article on the battery to charge for a few hours when the laptop is on RTC.
I will try that today. AY of other things I can do now.

    Thank you very much
    Florian

    Hey,.

I doubt that this has something to do with the RTC battery. This battery can be charged if the laptop is connected to an AC adapter for 24 hours, but this should be mentioned in the user manual

Can you start the laptop with AC/DC adapter only?

If this is not the case try removing the battery and the AC adapter for an hour and then test it again.

In the worst case, it s a hardware malfunction and it would need you will need to contact the technicians of laptop for help :(

  • Satellite A210 - 17 X-PSAFGE 03600LFR - upgrade DVD-RAM

    Hello

I currently have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 17 X - PSAFGE-03600LFR, after the upgrade level of RAM and HARD drive, I would need help to update my DVD-RAM. The original CARPET * a (Panasonic) DVD - RAM UJ-870 doesn't work anymore, because the laser cell seems to be damaged, it will not recognize any disk if the CD-ROM or DVD and firmaware update provided by the assistance of Toshiba Europe has not changed anything.

Because I need to replace, I would rather install a newer, more efficient, quieter model, but I'm having trouble to find this replacement.

First, the front "façade" of the current unit is smaller on the right side than on the left most pattern that I find have a rectangular "sham" - that is both sides have the same size, so it does not fit into the laptop. Is that the "bezel" so that I could take the old Chase and put it on the new?

Someone would be able to provide me with assistance to choose the correct replacement drive?

    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

    Eric

  • Satellite A100: Dead battery + Random closures

    Hello everyone

I'm having some trouble with my Satellite A100 after taking in a service center and I hope you can help.

One of the brackets holding the button broke on my laptop so I took it to a service center to replace. Once I come back the laptop I noticed that the battery was completely dead and that my laptop stops after about 20 minutes of playing any kind of video game. I thought that the judgments must be an overheating problem, so I cleaned the fan with compressed gas however it made no difference. What is strange about closures, it is that the fan does not work at high speed until the computer shuts down, and according to a temperature probe, I downloaded that the internal temperature is not greater than 55 degrees. I tried my friend's battery in my Toshiba and it worked, so I know that it's just a dead battery and not a motherboard problem, but I mention that the two problems occurred at the same time and in some sort could be related. I have no idea what is the problem and I can't take to service center because I am currently a student in Finland and cannot afford to be without my laptop for a week.

    Thank you for your help.

    Ned.

Update: I just upgraded my BIOS from 2.0 to 5.1 and had a mistake on the first boot: 0251: checksum CMOS bad system - default configuration used
I hit F2 paged through the BIOS settings, then straightened and everything was fine. Should I worry about the error? Or is it normal for the first start after an upgrade?

    Hello

    1.) judgment of problems:
    I'm a bit confused of m.
Was the laptop connected to the power adapter when the bottom is closed?
You said you used another battery for laptop you and it worked. So in my opinion, there is a problem with your battery
Try to replace and check if it works

(2.) the system CMOS checksum bad:
It s nothing unusual. The same thing happened to me after that the BIOS updated. I simply set the BIOS settings by default and everything was fine
    Don t worry

  • Battery on Satellite A210

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A210-1as, and it has a battery life of about 20 min. Lappy is a couple of months and this week is the first time that I ve actually used without being able to... (Nice try).
I say just Toshiba or is it only a bad batting for these lappys mania...

    Concerning

    Hello

In my opinion, you should contact Toshiba (authorized service provider). 20 minutes is certainly not the real battery life time and something is wrong here. I hope that you will get the new battery.

  • Satellite A210-1AP - battery and power supply problem

A few weeks ago I received my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.

Since then, I got problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.
When the cable is in the laptop running on battery power I do not know why. Then when I turn it off battery led is lit Orange and the battery is charging.
When the PC is turned on, the indicator light does not work and the battery becomes lower.

So I wonder what the problem is.
I read somewhere that this problem could solve the BIOS update.
So anyone have experience like this.
Also how is installed BIOS, I saw there is an installer for windows (so I guess it isn't hard).

And somehow can back up old BIOS so I can go back if something bad happens.

    > A few weeks I got my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.
    > Since then, I had problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.

In my opinion, the technician has done something wrong
The point is that this problem occurs after the exchange of motherboard and I think what this is about.

Contact the ASP who repaired the laptop and explain your problem.
I doubt that a BIOS update would solve this problem. I think it s a question an electrician

  • Satellite A210 - question about the battery life

I have a problem: my laptop works only 1 hour of unplugged to electricity, so my battery died after working of 55minutes (I mean I look at the pictures or typing in WORD). Is this normal? How long is the average battery life?
My model is SATELLITE A210/1AP (4000mAh) (my laptop is new; I bought it a week ago)
Please write how much your maximum battery work.

It is not easy to discuss this topic. With similar activity, I can use my Satellite A200, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I don't know how you're using your laptop, but I recommend you to use all the power settings that can make the life of the battery a little longer.

Check the method of cooling, power profile, reduce the brightness of the display and turn off WIFI if you do not use and so on.

You must also understand that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and the life of the battery under Vista is not identical with Windows XP Home edition.

  • Differences between Satellite A210 - model 11b PSAEGE and PSAFGE

    Hello

Is there a difference between Satellite A210 - 11 c model PSAEGE and model Satellite A210 - 11 c PSAFGE? I have a model PSAEGE and I need the XP drivers. I found some useful for model PSAFGE drivers and I don't know if it's ok to install.
    Thank you very much!

Can you please tell me where you've created all of these useful drivers?

Sorry, but according to all possible documents, I found on the Internet by Satellite A210 - 11 c is certainly PSAEGE and I didn t find with PSAFGE part numbers. When you picked up that info?

  • Satellite A210-17I extinguished but battery led amber goes when reconnected AC

I've seen a few discussions on the batteries is discharged quickly.
To be honest, when my Satellite A210-17I is on batteries, they last for 1 hour + / 15 min and recharge relatively fast.

The strange thing is when I worked on AC and stop and unplug all night, I always find the battery when connecting to Acre the next orange light.

It happened when I had only Vista as well as now with only XP in the boot menu (Vista still not deleted).
I have no alarm clock apps in the start menu and could not understand what Windows or Toshiba apps should force the laptop to wake up while it is turned off.

Someone at - he a clue, any similar experiences, comments?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Sorry, but I could t find problems with your laptop.
Is that battery working time depends on the use of the laptop.
I have an A210 with an AMD processor and my battery out lasts for about 1 hour 20 minutes using only internet Explorer.
The point is that all parts high performance like CPU and GPU ATI needs and wastes a lot of energy when running it only with the battery.

    > The strange thing is when I worked on AC and stop and unplug all night, I always find the battery when connecting to Acre the next orange light.
It is perhaps strange to you, but this is normal behavior for laptop.
A wake on LAN (WOL) function could be the reason for the flow of this power.

    Check this doc from Toshiba:
[Battery draining 15-20% when it is turned off during the night | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01N50013R01.htm]

On the other hand, the battery still loses 2-4% of the power. Also if the WOL function would be disabled.
There is also an interesting Toshiba doc who could confirm.
[My unit loses 2-4% battery by turning the device off then turn it back on. | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6B01MY000WR01.htm]
