Satellite A30 - fan still working

Hello

My Satellite A33 (although the case said A30 my model number indicates otherwise), there are problems of overheating for some time now, the fan always runs at full speed. I'll have to raise the notebook so that the fan can get more air.

I'm not sure why this happens, is just needed a clean place (never did)?

I looks as if it has two fans, and it does not blow out as much air as the other or not at all. I don't know much because I moved new laptops, but I use it when traveling.

Can you help?

Thank you.

Hello
You say you ' never played cleaning and this may be the reason for overheating (clogged cooling module). So, do the following:

1. clean your computer with air well. If it does not help and your computer is out of warranty you can take it apart. Check then if it has 2 fans (I dunno if this model comes with 2 fans if it has 2 fans and them does not work replace it at all).
If you decide to dismount, step this www.irisvista.com link to remove the statement

Imen quite so much as the title, when I try to put my computer to sleep the screen turns off but the computer is still running. My computer is a HP pavilion dv6 is a little more than 3 years. If you use a wireless keyboard or mouse to your computer, these items can keep your computer enter standby mode automatically because they constantly send a signal to the system, thus preventing downtime. An optical mouse (that changes color) causing a similar problem.

  • Cooling fan still works with an average speed on the Satellite A100-405

    Hello guys,.

If anyone can give me a reason why my satellite cooling fan is always running at speed average. I shot all the "Toshiba Power Saver Properties" settings, to "Battery Optimized" condition and so I took the battery, and the pleasure of cooling is still running and operating at average speed. I'm in a place of model (18 Aºc) without any direct exposure to the Sun or heat.

If you can help me about whether or not it is a normal condition. I think that it is not normal to have fun all the time for work. Runs normally for 2 minutes and stops during a similar period (used to be the case in other phones that I had in the past).

Maybe, I need to set or check adjustments internally or in the Bios. I really don't know and I'm really worried about it.

    Thanks guys... Please respond.

Laptop cooling depends on the use of laptops and the applications that run on the laptop.
Strong performance of the software is running on the laptop each part as CPU and GPU produce a lot of heat.
Have you tried to use a material like Speedfan monitoring tool.
SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips

But back to the energy saver. In the eve of power configuration, you should try to the CPU for auto control method and try to change the processor, the speed of processing and cooling method.

Don't forget that there is enough free space around the laptop. It is important for the circulation of fresh air.

  • Drive CD/DVD of Satellite A30 does not work correctly

I have a satellite A30 - 921, but for some reason any cd/dvd stopped working. It is said in the folder Drivers 'driver corrupted/missing. (Error code 39). It will not back down or update either. Do I have to download the driver (this is Toshiba dvd - rom SD-R6112) new & if so, how/where? I can't use the installation or recovery disk as it will not read the drive. Any ideas pls.

So, you mean that your CD/DVD drive is faulty and you can't read or restore your system.
To download drivers, you should take a look here:

  • Tecra S3-130: why fan still working

    Hello

The fan is too loud on my laptop Tecra S3-130, because it doesn't always work, never stops. I tried the settings in the properties "Toshiba Power Saver", but after changing anything that the fan starts working again in a few seconds, despite the ACPI temperature is 46 degrees Celsius only, not much higher. This fan of work is always very disturbing.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

    Kazi

    Hello

The temperature is 46 degrees Celsius, only because the fan works properly. If the fan doesn't run the temperature climbs. I put t know how you use your device, but if you are working with programs of high performance fans should run because of high utilization of the processor and overheating problems. In addition if cooling method is set for maximum Performance the cooling fans work up.

  • Satellite A30: Fan works

I got mega problems with cutting the A30 after 20 minutes. I bought a cooler that has not worked, but after reading your advice now have cleaner at the back - a lot of fluff was released which was a good thing I think!

However, how many times the fan should come on? It always is whirring away most of the time, is this normal?

And forgive me if I'm stupid but do you need a special screwdriver to unscrew the heat sink that I can't get mine cancelled (am very non-technical kind of girl)

Here's hoping that the laptop will last longer than 2 minutes now as fits. has a brief to write!

Thanks for any help in advance

    Hi Emily,.

You are quite correct because the fan on your A30 will run most of the time (especially in hot weather or in a warm room), although it should not run at particularly high speed.

You should also find that applications that use a lot of CPU will cause the fan to run more frequently and more quickly.

You do not have some control in the management system of the Toshiba power where you can set the A30 to use less CPU in order to reduce the activity of the fan.

Regarding special tools, you will need a small screwdriver 'star' to remove the heat sink access panel (which has five points as opposed to a Phillips screwdriver, which has four). The heat sink is attached with four classic Phillips screws, but it can be a little difficult to remove in fact since it is also attached to the CPU chip with the heat, scatter the dough that acts as an eraser and tends to stick the radiator in place.

However, the heat, scatter the dough is critical and should not be removed.

  • Satellite L655-1HC: win 8.1 Fan still work and / is not closed

    Hello everyone,

I have laptop L655-1HC owner, part no: PSK1JE-0GT00XAR, where am facing 2 problems I couldn't solve until now.
First of all, the fan continues to work always and stops any bothers me really.

Second, when closing, windows turns off but the machine continues to work with the fan and never stops unless I stopped it with the key switch seconds, even when I close the lid, windows turns off but the machine continues to work with the fan, at the opening of the lid it is freezing just until I stopped it manually through the switch.

Before two or three days windows crashed down and I formatted the laptop and upgraded to windows pro 8.1 and since updated, I was faced with these issues.

    Hello

I think that the problem is related to the system Windows 8.1
Probably it of not known you 8 Win and Win 8.1 does not power the unit off by default. The laptop will be defined in hybrid close mode that allows you to boot up the laptop faster.

I guess this could be the reason for your problem and recommend that you deactivate this mode.
Please check this document Toshiba how to do this:

  • Satellite P300D - CPU still works on the highest speed with XP

    Hello

    I bought a Satellite P300D with processor AMD QL. (P300D-211, PSPDCE-02K00WGR)

For my work, I needed to install Win XP. ID installed the CPU-, chipsetdriver and energy savings, but the processor is still in the fastest speed of avaibel (2, 1 GHz). If the fan is very noisy.
However, there is also no effect I chose in the Toshiba Power Saver the CPU speed... The CPU always runs with 2.1 GHz, even I chose the 'Step 1' fix CPU clock frequency.

Someone at - it an idea how to fix this?

    Greatings Fabian in German

    Hello!

Do you also have this problem with version preinstalled Windows or only with your own version of Windows XP?

And where did you download the drivers? You should only use the drivers from the Toshiba site to ensure that everything will work on the laptop:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers
Check this box if you have all the drivers installed laptop you can find on the Toshiba site.

Last but not least, I would try to update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site too.

  • Toshiba Libretto W100 is hot and fan still works

    Hello

my new Toshiba libretto W100 is still very hot and the fan is still running.
Even with programs that use few resources.
If I use programs like Trackmania or Fifa 11, the temperature rises again, and the fan works very quickly and loudly.

Is this normal? reduce the temperature and noise?
    Thank you. Best regards.

    Hello

I think you use high hard who insist a lot on the CPU.
This causes higher heat dissipation and therefore the temperature drops to a higher level and this is why cooling modules run faster.

So in my opinion, everything is ok here; It s nothing unusual in the world of computing. the warm air must be removed, and so the fans run at a higher speed.

I think that the fans don't run faster if you use low performance applications. Right?

  • Satellite A300 - system still works, but the screen is blank

    Hello

I was downloading an update of tempro toshiba (synco or something in that sense) for my laptop Satellite A300 and the frozen screen. I pressed the power button for 5-10 seconds until it is turned off. When I turned it the system seemed to work but the screen is completely black.

I tried to remove the battery, and fn + F5 but the screen still won't turn on.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Rob.

    Hello

It happened because of the updated BIOS, or during the common software update?
In case it was an update of the BIOS I recommend contact the ASP in your country, because it seems that the ROM module must be flashed again.

If it happened during a common software update, so I advise to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour.
Then reconnect the two parts and check to see if you could power the laptop properly!

    Check it out!

  • Tecra A11 - 11 L - fan still working

I already turned on eco mode and 1 core CPU temperature is 22 ° C and core 2 is at 15 ° C.

I have even an SSD in this laptop, so it should be cool and silent. Cold air comes out of my laptop and the whole case is still warm (really, I hit the computer laptop while at the top of the page down, everywhere!), but according to PC Health Monitor the rest fan continues to operate at 50%! It is certainly stronger than my old laptop.

Is this a problem with my laptop, or the A11 series has this problem?

You come in on the problems
I put t see any problems
The fan operates at 50% and therefore the temperature is low
If the cooling module would not go, then the temperature would be much higher

In any case, you can check the Win7/Vista power management.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=41

In power management, you can set the performance of cooling on the lower level.

I also recommend updating the BIOS. If a newer version is available, and then run the update.

  • Fan still works after stop (10 of Windows).

    Hello

    I installed 10 windows in my Inspiron 15 3542.
When I shut down the computer, sometimes the fan continues to run until the battery runs out.

So I continue to press on button / shut down and turn off the power to the laptop.

Previously, I had Windows 8.1 and no problem at all.

    Any guy healpful ideas?

This seems to be a common problem with Windows 10. The culprit is Intel Management Engine (IME) v11.* Since v10.* This has been a problem. What you need to do is to install a V9 or V10 IME and the system will work as it should which relates to the power off, the sleep and hibernation. I had the same problem and pilot declined to v10 and everything has been fine since. 2 weeks and no problems.

If you can't find the drivers on the site of Dell back, get the driver Intel ME here. Simply use the driver installation and answer that you know you are going back on the driver level.

    Any suggestions?

I read that the BIOS upgrade does nothing good...
There will be a new version of the BIOS?

    > Is this normal?

No, this is not normal. Perhaps, your laptop is overheating due to dust. First of all, clean it up:

in this forum, no one can tell you when it will be released. You can always check on the [page driver Toshiba | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]

  • Satellite A30 - 404 - the fan does not work

I have a Satellite A30-404 for a couple of years now, and recently I saw serious problems with my laptop.

Let me start from the beginning:

My laptop has been a few months, when he suddenly stopped, I contacted the helpline and they picked up the phone and fixed.
Again, a few months later, it happens again and I call them, they tell me that the problem is caused by the dust accumulating on the radiator of the laptop.
I used a vacuum among fans to clean dust.

When I do that, indeed, there was a lot of dust coming out, so I made this process, I realized a few months and the laptop remained very well.

A few months ago, when vacunuming the pc again once I heard something breaking and I soon realized that all the components of one of the fan where gone.

Probably one of them broke and since it had to be rotated at high speed he stopped and beat all the others. So I had 2 broken fans 1. I realized that in the long term that my processer could be destroyed because it did not good cooling. Since then the processer would become very hot and consumes much more energy than normal.

Now, I also have the problem that whenever I turn on the pc it starts slowly draining battery (its plugged into the power supply). It's like I have a giant battery, the laptop power and eventually it will turn off. I also tried to boot the pc with no battery at all and it works very well for a while, but then it turned off suddenly. I try to turn on the pc and after 1 or 2 seconds it stops again. I don't know if its related to the fact that the processor is damaged boats.

I talked to a lot of people in order to get the fixed fan but they say it can become very expensive since its hard getting the same fan. And by the way, when I work on the computer with only the battery that it depends on almost an hour

    Any suggestions? Help, please

EDIT: I turned of the auto in hibernation when the battery is low to see what is happening, the energy of the battery indicates 0%, but the laptop stays on.

    Hello

Well, you should be cautious if you use the vacuum cleaner to clean the fans. It is risky!
Extra ball bearings might damage if the fans turn too fast.

So if you have no experience with these procedures you should t do.
The person with the experience as a technician workbook must clean the fans and cooling modules.

I agree with Doomlord, and it seems that you need a new cooling module.

  • Re: Fan is constantly running on Satellite A30

Whenever I start my Satellite A30 the fan starts to operate in an audible manner. However, HD is about 32 to 35 ° C, according to speedfan. In addition, from time to time, the fan speeds up and gets really loud.

In addition, sometimes the laptop just closed without any warning. I shall now put the end of the book a one bar so that air can still pass by the pc, and I feel it helps.

I would like to stop the fan always running and to reduce its noise.

My RAM expansion may be the reason?

To make the A30 run better and be able to install WinXP SP3 I upgraded from 256 MB to 2.0 GB of RAM which is the maximum size of RAM according to the manual. I used the site Web of Kingston to select and buy the CPU, so I guess I bought good extensions.

If the extension of RAM were the reason for the fan always market that would mean that if the A30 Gets the full load of RAM it's overheating. Right?

Are there people here on the forum who had the same problem with a noisy laptop after upgrading the RAM?

    TIA
    FT

Satellite A30 is old enough for laptop and, in my view, there may be a big problem cold air and cooling rack is full of dust. Laptop cannot be properly cooled. I opened several old notebooks and it was amazing to see how the dust was inside. I really wonder how the laptop worked

Laptop last I opened was friends Satellite A100 (not so old as yours) and I've been irritated how fan worked on this laptop. He was so strong and ON / OFF sporadically. After cleaning it computer laptop was extremely calm and fan has worked almost constantly, but at the low level silent.

The same was on my old satellite 1900. It was full of dust.

Upgrade RAM or any other reason can be the reason for more power and performance. Performance notebook more runs faster and produce more heat. The critical threshold is reached laptop after suddenly OFF.
