Satellite A300 - keys not working not properly

Hello

I have problems with my laptop... TOSHIBA A300

When I type "n" slap it "ny".
When I type b he types "b5".
When I try to type 'a' it opens using the application that I use, such as Word or Firefox.

Strange thing is that another user on a forum of Toshiba had EXACTLY the same problem about 2 years ago, unfortunately a solution has not been posted, so I don't know how the problem was resolved. I myself have had this problem in May 2011, but it will - fixed somehow but now back.

After using a program of mapping of results below:

a key = F1
button b = 5%
n = y key
Enter key = (= +)

Any ideas? A I support inadvertently on a wrong combination of keys?

Ta!

Hello

In my opinion, the internal keyboard is defective.
You can try to plug an external USB keyboard and you can check if the same thing would happen from the 2nd keyboard.
Generally this should not happen using USB keyboard, so in this case, need to replace the internal keyboard.

    Hello

My problem is that I don't know exactly what the problem...
I have a laptop of 1MS Satellite A300 does not have built-in Bluetooth

I have a bluetooth (MX5000 series) Logitech mouse that I installed for Windows Vista (I downloaded the latest driver of Logitech's official website)
The Logitech software for bluetotth is called set point and the Assembly says I can connect other bluetooth devices through the bluetooth mouse receiver (like a cell phone, for example).

The mouse works perfectly well, the problem starts when I try to connect my cell phone to the laptop (with the Nokia PC Suite software). I get a message that says that there is no bluetooth hardware installed. I tried to look in the bluetooth configuration control panel, but it isn't here. I can't find a folder or a tool that allows me to set up bluetooth.

I would like to know what is the problem, why my laptop does not recognize the bluetooth receiver.
I used to have installed on another laptop with Windows XP and it used to work without any problems.

I tried the receiver in all the USB ports on the laptop with no result.

    Hi guys

I can say with certainty that the Satellite A300-1 ms was not was equipped with the internal BT module and so the laptop does not recognize the Bluetooth receiver
If you want to connect to the laptop to the external BT device then you need a BT USB key for example.

Drivers of HW can I vista can be used also for windows 7... ?

    Hello

Satellite A300-20V belongs to the PSAGCE series and so already a lot of drivers for Windows 7 is released and also for 32-bit and 64-bit.

    What drivers need you exactly?

And Yes, you can use the Vista on Windows 7 drivers. Many of them also work.
On my Satellite A300 Windows 7 works really well. I got all the drivers for it and it works better then Vista in my opinion.

  • Satellite A300 keys menu does not display drop-down

    Hey guys,.

I think that when I delete a whole bunch of programs, I have deleted something that I wouldn't by chance. When I press on and press and hold the Fn key and press one of the function keys (F1 to F12), the computer no longer displays the drop-down menu blue she. The function key still works, but I can see is more what I selected the function. (see which monitor I select or turn to the tooth blue on/off) The light always on the key board to indicate that I pressed the function button, it's only just the drop down menu no longer appears.

Any help you can give would be great.

    Hello

Have Hmm you tried to restore the operating system at an early stage of time?
I think it would be the simplest solution to recover requests to remove.

Otherwise I think you would need to reinstall the VAP.
The pre-installed VAP should be removed first and after restarting again, you need to reinstall the VAP.

  • Satellite A300 - can not find a suitable FN & hotkey keyboard XP driver

Hi my laptop model is psag0a - 02100q... Yes, it sounds weird. It is quite rare, is in New Zealand.

Vista was annoying me so much with his wireless and compatibility so I chose this downgrade to XP...
now I'm having real problems with getting the key fn and these media keys IE. keyboard shortcut (keys background LED for windows media player) to work.

I installed all the compatible common modules and tried all kinds of utilities hotkey. The best result I got was to bring the ESC, the keys F1 to F7 working with the fn key, BUT I couldn't even control (wireless) F8, F9 (touchpad) and buttons in windows media player...

I'm getting so frustrated, someone please help!

    Hello

The Satellite A300 PSAG0A seems to be an Australian series laptop.

It seems that the Australian driver Toshiba page does not all drivers for XP at this time.

Usually, you should the common Modules to get the keys FN working on the Windows XP operating system.

The European driver Toshiba page provides some XP drivers for different A300 series.
If you wish, you can check if the common Modules released for another laptop A300 would run on your notebook in the series.

Maybe you are a lucky man, the application will run.

    Good luck

  • Impossible to install Vista on Satellite A300 PSAGCE - not ACPI compliant

    Hello

I'm recovering the laptop from a friend.
He has installed Windows XP on its Satellite A300 PSAGCE and concluded that of course XP 32-bit Windows does not support the full functionality of the laptop.

Now I wanted to reinstall Vista that came with it. I have two recovery DVD but when I wanted to start them (them two DVDs) I always get the error message that the system is not fully ACPI-compatible.

Now of course this laptop should work with Vista and the provided restore DVD should work as well, no?
I tried to download a Bios nw, but it seems 1.10 is the most recent.

I also can't find all the ACPI settings in the BIOS that I could activate.

    Could someone help me?
It is really urgent and driving me crazy!

    Thank you!

    Hello

Strange! Usually, if you have created the DVD recovery Toshiba using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator then everything should work correctly and you should be able to install Vista on this A300!

I put t know if you have changed something in the BIOS or elsewhere, but you should access the BIOS and should define the default settings.
Then try to boot from the recovery DVD Toshiba again.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A300 does not start

    Hello forum members

I had a lot of problems with my Toshiba Satellite A300 for quite awhile. I had found the solution to one of the problems through this forum, but now the problem I am facing. I can t find the solution to the problem.

When I press the power on button, the laptop just blinks (fan runs then shuts down, as he gets power pulse. sign satellite on the left side of the laptop flashes and the laptop stops, then the laptop itself tries to start, but this goes on and for a long time.) It finally boots (not really specific time when it starts up, sometimes after an hour, 2 hours or all day) and I can use. I tried to put the laptop in hibernate mood/sleep but no use, whenever I press the power on button, I face the same problem. Once it starts, it doesn t stop and works very well.

I can't really understand what is the problem? Your answers are really appreciated. I really have a hard time with this laptop.

  • Why my PSAG0A - 02100Q Satellite A300 does not install audio drivers?

I unsuccessfully downloaded (several times) the audio drivers from Toshiba downloads to fix a no audio device installed on a laptop Satellite A300 of operation Vista x 32. Previously it was solid. Also had computer built to solve the problem, but it did not work. Can someone help please.

    Hello

I think you tried a bad driver.
Some of the A300 series supports a Conexant audio chip and some of these units are equipped with a Realtek audio chip to use the right driver for a sound card.

Satellite A300 PSAG0A - 02100Q supports a chip (onboard) Realtek ALC268 sound and you have the Realtek HD audio driver.
    This can be downloaded here:

  • Satellite A300 - is not eject the CD/DVD drive

I have exactly the same problem with my 4 month Satellite A300. Every now and then and apparently without cause, the CD-ROM drive (Mat * a DVD - RAM) refuses to open. The little light near the eject button flickers when the button is pressed, but nothing. It will do if the drive is empty or not. Device Manager can see the disk and claims that it works correctly and that the driver is up-to-date. But if, for example, I display open with a trombone player and load a DVD, ImageBurn (which could also see the drive) calls for a communication error (e/s).

Nothing seems to make the drive to work once he got into this State with the exception of a reboot, and even in this case we know remain 'dead' until a second reboot.

I followed the instructions on [this site | http://www.randomfix.com/2007/04/12/windows-vista-%E2%80%93-missing-cddvd-rom-drive/] and the disc looked good for three days, then made his old trick. I checked the registry and the filters that I removed is still deleted. I uninstalled the drive via the Device Manager and let Vista find again to restart. Everything worked fine for 24 hours then the problem comes back.

When the drive opens the button it works perfectly in all ways music - reading, writing, start, DVD...

    Very frustrating.

The above post was originally a response on an existing thread, so I don't know where the rest disappeared. And I can't change it. This forum works as well as laptops.

  • Satellite A300 - does not connect to the secure network to WPA

Help please... new Toshiba Satellite A300 - running XP Professional with atheros AR9281 (driver 7.6.0.200) wireless network adapter will not connect to the secure networks, WAP, but seems to be fine with the WEP and non secure networks?

I can connect to my WAP secured network using LAN cable and also if I use an external Netgear wireless adapter, so the problem is probably with this adapter or driver. I updated the bios and tried update driver, but no luck. Current driver is (I believe) more up to date?

Would be grateful for your help.

    Thank you.

On the Toshiba site is a newer version of the driver available (7.6.1.149.1)
Then I would try the new driver.

    Consult the Toshiba site:

  • Satellite A300-114 - not reinitate after that screen stops

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-114 running Windows Vista Home Premium.
It worked well until two weeks, now, after some time of inactivity, the screen goes off and it turns on again. Spots bright disk hard but the screen remains black. This becomes more often.

Does anyone have the idea, what the problem?

    Thanks :)

    Hi jjginga,

Have you tried an external monitor to your laptop computer? It's interesting because if you can identify if this is related to the internal screen or graphics card.

I had a similar problem on my laptop that the internal screen was black, only the outer one worked. The solution was replacing FL inverter or screen internal.

  • Satellite A300 does not start after the installation of the anti-virus

    Hello

I brought a Satellite A300 today and loaded it up and it was fine.
I uninstalled the google toolbar, office and land it came preinstalled with also the mcafree anti virus.
So I could install my own anti virus.

After that the system asked me to restart my pc I did.
Since then, the system cross the 'Please wait' screen
But it won't let me boot into safe mode. I tried a system restore.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

To me, it seems that you 3rd party antivirus software caused this strange and confusing problem the Vista OS installed.

In my eyes a simply, new installation of operating system using the Toshiba Recovery disk would solve this problem.

If you are able to start the operating system in safe mode and then try to remove your installed Antivirus software, then clean the registry and operating system using the free tool called CCLeaner and try to start the laptop again.

    Hello

As far as I know Toshiba portable computers can be purchased with an operating system Windows.
There is a Toshiba image that contains the Windows operating system (Vista, Win 7, etc.), drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities

I put t know why you plug a laptop without OS to maybe was a bit cheaper to buy it without the Windows operating system

What to say to the original Windows disc to install
