Satellite A300 PSAGCA - blue screen using Windows 7

First by Satellite A300 - PSAGCA-0C301N did not come on the European Internet site when I update the drivers... there PSAGCE...

I am running on the assumption that A = Australia & E = Europe.
Can someone clarify this for me.

The computer worked fine with Vista but since put Win 7 Ultimate here he sometimes gets the blue screen.
It was a clean place do not install an upgrade

He can go for a week without a problem, and then I'll have 5 blue screens in one day.
All the drivers came to the site of the European

I have 4 GB of RAM
No devices are connected
WiFi is always enabled
Usually connected to the power supply

If anyone can help to direct me to a solution I would be eternally grateful

See you soon

Sammy

> I am running on the assumption that A = Australia & E = Europe.
> Can anyone clarify this for me.

You are right that the last digit or the letter designates the region. Then E means Europe and Australian way.

It s an Australian series for Toshiba laptop and, therefore, you need to download the drivers from Toshiba Australian page

The BSOD may be a result of not fully compatible drivers

    Hello!

You need to install SATA drivers before you install Windows and if you have compatible SATA mode you t need SATA drivers but you have lost performance a bit.

So I want to reinstall Windows in AHCI mode, you need to download the Toshiba Storage Manager (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com).
Copy the driver on an external floppy drive and press F6 after starting the laptop to CD or create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.

I checked memory with 2 different programs. No errors. HARD drive checked - no error.
Updated the BIOS, but get the error 1275 attempted using Toshibe updateprogram code.

Anybody have ideas, what to do?

    Hey,.

I m a bit confused about your ad first, you wrote that you did a clean install and then you wrote something about an upgrade
    What's true?

Anyway, if you see the blue screen in safe mode too? If this isn't the case, it seems to be a driver issue because in safe mode no drivers will be loaded.

I want BIOS update latest version 2.10 for windows 7, but in the Web of Toshiba-NZ site, I can only find the version 1.9, I find 2.10 for A300 Toshiba Europe, but Europe models are all different from NZ.

    Hello

I would not recommend using a BIOS that is not released for your laptop model.
There are a lot of different series for laptop on the market.

You must use the BIOS that is designed exactly for the portable model!
As you know, the BIOS update is a reasonable process and can damage the ROM chip using BIOS wrong!

  • Impossible to install Vista on Satellite A300 PSAGCE - not ACPI compliant

    Hello

I'm recovering the laptop from a friend.
He has installed Windows XP on its Satellite A300 PSAGCE and concluded that of course XP 32-bit Windows does not support the full functionality of the laptop.

Now I wanted to reinstall Vista that came with it. I have two recovery DVD but when I wanted to start them (them two DVDs) I always get the error message that the system is not fully ACPI-compatible.

Now of course this laptop should work with Vista and the provided restore DVD should work as well, no?
I tried to download a Bios nw, but it seems 1.10 is the most recent.

I also can't find all the ACPI settings in the BIOS that I could activate.

    Could someone help me?
It is really urgent and driving me crazy!

    Thank you!

    Hello

Strange! Usually, if you have created the DVD recovery Toshiba using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator then everything should work correctly and you should be able to install Vista on this A300!

I put t know if you have changed something in the BIOS or elsewhere, but you should access the BIOS and should define the default settings.
Then try to boot from the recovery DVD Toshiba again.

  • Re: Satellite A300 PSAGCA-03C010 - downgrade from Vista to XP

    Hello

I'm really new to all this, so I hope that will not ask a question that has already been answered :)

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 (model PSAGCA-03C010) in October 08. It came with a preinstalled version of Windows Vista Home Premium.

Initially, using Vista was not too bad, but it happened at a point now where his things slows down and is really frustrating. Want to downgrade (/ upgrade) go back to Windows XP and I want to know the "implications" of this and if the Toshiba Utilities are consistent and will work with XP.

First of all, can I use my ID current product that came with Vista and it enter the product ID when I install XP?

Also, I am concerned about the Wi - fi, bluetooth, finger scan and HDMI applications - will this work with XP?

Finally, when I created the "recovery disk", should everything go 'bad' when installing XP or if something does not work, can I use this recovery disc to return to the original "out of the box" installation?

Thanks in advance and again once, apologies if these qns have already answered in other posts (im not too technical).

    Tamara

    > I'm really new to all this, so I hope that will not ask a question that has already been answered
In many cases, these questions have been answered already and you might find useful views by using the Advanced ;) search option

    > Want to downgrade (/ upgrade) go back to Windows XP and I want to know the "implications" of this and if the Toshiba Utilities are consistent and will work with XP.
Tools and Vista drivers are not compatible with Win XP. If you want to install Win XP and want to use all the features of the laptop you must make sure that the Win XP drivers are available for this model of laptop.

Satellite A300 PSAGCA seems to be an Australian model. The drivers are placed here:
    http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au

I checked this and found a few tools and drivers for this device.

    > First of all, can I use my ID current product that came with Vista and it enter the product ID when I install XP?
No, you can not use it because it belongs to the Vista operating system preinstalled on your laptop.

    > Finally, when I created the "recovery disk", should everything go 'bad' when installing XP or if something does not work, can I use this recovery disc to return to the original "out of the box" installation?
Yes, the recovery disk allows to reverse the laptop back to factory settings.
You will get the same as on the first day of purchase

  • Re: Satellite A300 PSAGCA: how to install Win XP as 2nd OS

Hey any reader for the first time and shows for the first time.
My comp is the Satellite A300 PSAGCA-02U010

You 2 questions, hopefully someone can help me with.

The issue of the first: like many people, I hate Vista.
How can I run XP as a second OS that don't live my warranty?

    2. the volume level is not very strong (sound) when you watch a DVD etc. I tried different settings, and every time I do I have to restart to take effect, which is a pain that vista is slow to restart. I have downloaded the driver, but noticed that it is exactly the same as what is installed already :(

    See you soon

    > How can I use as a second OS XP who don't live my warranty?
Installing programs or operating system would not avoid the warranty!
You can install the Win XP as second OS without fear.

But before install you anything, I would recommend the Toshiba recovery disc creation!

    With regard to the sound:
As far as I know the parameters which are changes in the player are not not in trouble. You must increase the volume of every time when you start the software again.
But have you tested different actors? For example, VLC player is a simple and free tools.
    I recommend to test

  • Satellite M30X-118 blue screen of death

Hi all. Please help me with this one. The problem I have is this. After power on and loading windows of windows (the version of picture Toshiba) will crash after a few seconds with a blue screen. Windows reports that an ATI driver fell into an infinite loop and the computer stopped to avoid damage. I use the latest toshiba BIOS (1.9), ati drivers and chipset and I did a virus scan. I also tried to reinstall windows from the CD.
What is strange is that after 2 or 3 restarts the computer works perfectly. No more reboots and not problems with the ati drivers. I even tried a few 3D games to be totally convinced. The problem is most obvious when the computer has been closed for a long time (hours or days). So maybe it's a thing of temperature. Maybe a graphic component does not work properly in times of low start-up and after a while when the temperature rises, it's ok? What do you think?
Finally, after the exit of the hibernation mode or standby driver ati fails and that the resolution is back to 640 x 480. A reboot but corrects this problem and I don't know if it's relevant.
    Thank you for your time!

    Hi George,.

I don't think overheating is the cause of your problem. It resembles a suspect hard drive. Usually after a period of inactivity the drive has problems reading of the driver file.

You could try to reload the ATI driver (this should load the driver to a different location on your hard drive) and see if the problem persists.

You disk defragmentation will not help because the drivers are usually installed in a non-transferable area of the player.

I strongly recommend to take a safe backup of your user data at the earliest.
