Satellite A300D - upgrade RAM

I bought a Satellite A300D PSAH8A 01K00H of a site affiliated with ebay.
The laptop had some problems of virtual memory, but has not been slow etc.
What is the maximum ram that can hold my laptop? don't know what other information is needed but will stick around and answer to this thread, thanks.

I couldn't find a specification for your model of laptop but I ve compared to European models A300D and each of them can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM so I think you can use it too.

As verification of Rams compatible 2 GB
2 GB DDR2-667-PA3513U-1M2G

2 GB DDR2-800-PA3669U-1M2G

    Hello

I use Satellite A300D with Vista and I tried to upgrade to Windows 7 using Toshiba upgrader.

After the language selection and proceed to the other steps, it asks me to uninstall a bunch of programs. Some are uninstalled very well, but when it comes to four other programs he says "Setup.exe has stopped working" and it does not uninstall.

I tried to uninstall the manually, but I got the same message.

    These programs are;
    Setup driver Atheros
    Toshiba hardware configuration
    Toshiba supervisor password
    Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

So I can't go ahead with the upgrade.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello

Anyboday tried to run the upgrade as an administrator? Therefore, click on the setup.exe file on the upgrade disc and run it as an administrator.

Moreover I also upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, but in the manual supplied with the notebook, I founded the information, that it s to start the upgrade directly after a new installation of recovery.

  • Satellite A30 - upgrade RAM

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to get an upgrade of ram for my A30? I have an extension connector. If so, where can you offer me that I buy it from?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can buy the ram modules where you want, but be sure that these modules are supported and compatible.
Do you know which module you use?
If this isn't the case, I found a nice info site:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=7241&ft=m&St=3

According to this site, you can use PC2100 200 pin SODIMM (266 MHz) DDR modules.
From my experience, you must order a Kingston or Toshiba modules because the performance is very good. Don t trust the market good memory modules as these modules are no piece of name with bad quality and performance

  • Satellite M110 - upgrade RAM and a maximum capacity

I have a Satellite M110 and want to update the RAM as much as possible. It has the RAM of origin of the plant. The manual give me model numbers of memory depending on the model of the computer - that is to say either PC2-4200 or PC2-5300. How can I say that I have? I am not either of these numbers anywhere. 1 GB is the more RAM will have this computer?

    Hi lenore104,

The maximum RAM capacity is also related to the chipset. In addition the maximum RAM capacity can be found in the user manual.
    Did you find this information?

The specifications of the memory modules, you can find on the memory module itself. So if you remove the module memory current you should see a sticker on it with technical information such as PC2-4200.

If you post the exact model of the laptop number, we can search the Web from Toshiba site for maximum capacity.

  • Satellite L450: upgrade RAM: BIOS shows 8 GB, Win 2 GB

    Hi all

I have a L450 - 13L that has provided my company to me with 2 GB of RAM, it was about 2 years ago now...
The laptop has been very good, but it has been gradually slowing down with the applications that were installed and suites operation
so I recently decided to upgrade the RAM.
Research on the web I found that I can install 2 RAM cards each a maximum of 4 GB, which is what I did.

The RAM is IN2V4GNXBFX DDR2 4 GB 800 Mhz SODIMM

What I have noticed is my laptop is now a little faster, but not much

If I open the control configuration\systeme Zumex tells me that I have more than 2 GB of RAM
If I open the BIOS it tells me that there are 8 GB of RAM

What I did wrong or what should I do to get the RAM working properly

I tried just putting 1 RAM card and new control configuration\systeme shows 2 GB and Bios 4 GB
I tried to Exchange 2 cards between the slotts

    Any help much beautiful

    Hi mate

    What chipset do you have?

The laptop with the Chipset Mobile Intel (r) GL40 Express supports 4 GB RAM max. This means that you can use 2 x 2 GB RAM modules

The laptop with the Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express supports 8 GB of RAM. In this case, you can use 2 x 4 GB RAM max modules.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what version of Windows 7, you use. 32-bit recognize 3.2 GB RAM max. The 64-bit version would recognize the total RAM.

  • Satellite S300CDS - upgrade RAM

Is it possible to increase the RAM in this model - and how is it easy to complete?

    Hello

Well, as far as I know it s a very old notebook. This unit was delivered 7-8 years ago. However, I found information that you can upgrade the memory for max 144 MB. In addition, the compatible memory modules are:

    PA2039U 16 MB
    PA2043U 32MB
    PA2044U 64 MB
    PA2054U-MS 128 MB

I hope that this info is a little help for you

    Good bye

  • Satellite L655 - upgrade RAM causes the system crash

I bought and inserted 2 RAM Kingston 4 GB chips. When I boot the Windows and Ubuntu 14.04 (I have a dual boot) fails.

If I run a test memory Ubuntu start menu, the system hangs.

I put the old RAM and all is well.

To resolve this problem, I tried upgrading the BIOS firmware using the software available on the Toshiba site, but it gives me an error saying that the battery must be fully charged and the power adapter is connected. A fully charged battery with the charger plugged still gives the same error. I replaced the battery, which was old and lasted 5 minutes, but the error remains on the upgrade of the bios.

Any ideas what could be causing this would be appreciated.

Can I get hold of a BIOS upgrade CD ISO which does not check the status of the battery and the charger? I promise you I will not let the of of the machine while upgrading the bios is going forward!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

At first, I must say that updating the BIOS won't help you any. Many people think that the update of the BIOS is a kind of "quick fix" for different questions.
In my opinion there must be a compatibility problem. Did you buy the memory right modules approved for your system?

I don't know what 665 do you have exactly, but I think that you need the modules of DDR3 - 1066 MHz and 4 GB of RAM has part number PA3677U-1M4G.

  • Upgrade memory on Satellite A300D-15B

    Hi all

I'm going to upgrade the ram on my laptop 4 GB to 8 GB. First of all, I will post all the details of my laptop then explain the problem.

    (Original configuration)
    Satellite A300D-15B
    Model: PSAKCE
    BIOS ver: 3.30
    AMD Turion X 2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM - 86 (ZM - 80 upgrade)
    Genuine Windows® Vista® Home Premium 32-bit
    4096 MB (2048 + 2048) PC2-6400 DDR RAM (800 MHZ)

Then to the right, I installed Windows 7 32 bit top centuries ago and implemented at the processor level and have never had problems as I work with computers.

I did some checking and found out that my motherboard supports up to 8 GB of ram and decided to purchase two 4 GB RAM modules. I made sure that I had good ram to my laptop.

I upgraded the ram and it recognized without any problems and has even stated that 8 GB of ram was installed under 'System' in contol panel and in the bios. As it was a 32 bit OS it has only 3 GB of ram. So I decided to upgrade my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and that's when the fun begins.

Basically, my laptop does not start if I have more than 4 GB of RAM installed (in all configurations) and get a BSOD. I had a few different Stop error codes, but I can't seem to find a solution. Also, there is no all/many options to change in bios, so Im puzzled.

I tested the modules of ram with Memtest several times without error and tried in different laptops without problem. I know that my computer laptop suppors the 8 GB that I had no problem running the 32 bit OS.

All my drivers and other software are up-to-date and work very well and have installed all the updates of windows to date.
If anyone else has had this problem and is at - it a patch/fix available?

Any help, ideas or suggestions are welcome and I hope I can fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Melchius

    Hello

You are right. Your motherboard can be upgraded with RAM and max RAM for your laptop model is of 8 GB.
This info you can find in the specifications of the laptop.

Problem is that, for the upgrade, you must use 100% compatible modules. I'm pretty sure there must be a compatibility problem.
Can you please tell us what modules you use (brand and specification).
For example: module 4GB compatible for this model of laptop has part number PA3670U-1M4G.

Hi all, I am considering upgrading RAM on my * SATELLITE A100-667 * (PSAARE-02700DIT). Is anyone know the maximum amount of ram I can install it? What clock is supported? (553, 667...)

And what about CPU? The laptop comes with an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz on Intel i945PM chipset.

Thanks in advance for any information.

    P.

    Hello

I think that you should also check your RAM upgrades for user manuals. As far as I know that you can upgrade your laptop with 4 GB of RAM. Therefore, you can use DDR2-533 modules. You buy from an authorized service provider or Kingston modules also recommendable.

Upgrading the CPU is not supported. BIOS and motherboard are tested only with the preinstalled CPU.
