Satellite A500-025 and Satellite A500-02F processors

The A500-025 said she had the centrino T6500 processor while the model A500-02f has processor T6600. Does make a difference that they say it is a CENTRINO processor or is there a difference... or they is the two centrino but just was not mentioned in the specifications.

Thank you

Have two notebooks the same model number (PAxxxx).

    Hi junglo,

I think that you have answered the question yourself. Satellite A500-02F has a faster CPU and DDR3 memory. It should be a little faster in programs of they need a high-performance CPU and in games for example.

It s also according to the programs you want to use, but I would choose the faster model. I n buy t each year a new laptop then I would choose the fastest and 10% difference isn t so. ;)

  • Satellite T130-02F - display driver error

    Hello

I just bought the Satellite T130-02F and after choosing 32-bit operating system, I had the power to recharge the battery and then started to get 'to display driver errors"where the screen black flash and then flash back on. I checked Device Manager and Driver Details, the reader is up to date and as far as I can see is the suitable driver. I searched websites to see if there are other drivers out there ar, but its update.

I have nothing more have not installed on the computer again and find that I get the error more regularly on the farm rather than power, that concerns me. The computer is less than 24 hours old.
    Any advice?

    Mobile Intel (R) display firmware.
    Windows 7 32-bit is installed.

    Hello

In your case I would try to reinstall the display driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

After that, make sure that the latest version of the BIOS is installed. You can download the Toshiba site too.

If nothing works your only chance is an authorized service provider. It seems to be a hardware problem and should be checked for professional people.

  • Satellite L750-201 - processor upgrade

    Hello

In the last two weeks, I bought a brand new Satellite L750-201 (PSK6ME-026004EN) of PC World, the United Kingdom, which has an i3 - 380 M 2.53 Ghz with front side bus 1 066 Mhz.

Compared to my Toshiba laptop 6 year, it is lightning fast and I am generally very happy with it, but after the purchase, I was appalled to see that the CPU is a first generation Intel and not 2nd generation like most others on sale.

The i3 - 380 M is a trademark of Passmark CPU of 2337 and so the 6 GB of RAM is sufficient for my current needs, especially now I installed Ubuntu Linux in dual boot with Windows 7.

In the future if I I want to upgrade the processor and almost wish I had held out for an i5.

Question: What are my options for upgrading the processor? Specifications of the motherboard obviously comes into play here.

I would like a lot of techniques of information that you can give me because I am a software engineer with some knowledge/experience of the material.

    Thank you in advance.

Upgrading the CPU may be possible, but you must use the CPU that is supported by the chipset of the motherboard.

But there would still be a question about the BIOS, no one can say that if the new processor would be proccessed by BIOS and in the worst cases the laptop would not stable after upgrading from CPU

is it possible to upgrade the processor?
I would buy a cpu merom and install this one...
or is the processor soldered to the motherboard?

    Hello

The answer is no, it is not possible to replace the processor in a Toshiba laptop. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

By the way: A100 is one of the latest devices and I don t understand why you want to swap the CPU. Why you didn t buy best camera has better CPU performance?

The installed BIOS has been configured by using the installed processor so presumably only if it is compatible or not
As said codes for the replacement of the CPU is always risky, and is generally not recommended.

I read in different messages than the laptop didn't start after replacing the CPU, but I have also heard that a laptop had run without problem after these updates.

Therefore, it is really not easy to tell if these updates will be fine

It s always at your own risk.

  • Re: Satellite L555-10T - processor falters with play MP3

    Hello

If I play music with windows media player, the latest version and any other program, I opened my stuck processor / weakens with to play the mp3 music. Initially, the music of this notebook is not very good because it was not a very good sound, shrill, but that is my experience.
I put an additional program in which makes its better and more real. It's DFX version 9. I also tried the settings of windows 7 and WMP but without results.

Maybe that's the problem, but I'm not sure. Why music stucks and after a few seconds it go on. Later if I try to do another program, when I play music it gives the same problem, but I can't fix.
Is there someone who can help me solve this problem? Because this laptop is strong enough on CPU internal memory and the rest, but sometimes it's the drama.

    Thank you
    Sierras

    Hi Sierras,

Have you also tested the quality of the sound on external speakers?
The point is that portable speakers these times are already quite good, but they never have the quality of due small external speakers form factor. So, you must connect the speakers of high-quality Logitech or creative example and test it again!

In addition, I use VLC media player to play videos and music. It s a very small multimedia player that can read all the files, never had a problem.

  • Get the best out of Satellite 1900-803 processor / upgrade possible?

    Hi all

Well, this forum has been great for me up to now, thanks JohnnyS!

I was wondering if there might be someone out there who can help me with the following problem:

When I right click on "My computer" (current running winXPpro) I can't see what follows.

    line 1 * Intel (r)
    line 2 * Pentium (r) 4 CPU 1.70 Ghz
    line 3 * 1.69 Ghz, 768 MB RAM

I guess that the two readings of the CPU speed indicates the maximum speed of the processor (* line 2 *) followed by the actual speed (* line 3 *). If this is the case, can I shake the extra 0.1 Ghz out of it, it is better to it and if the answer to each of these questions is 'yes' then how do I do it?

Secondly, if I wanted to update (/ replace with a slightly faster) processor would be possible?
So how high I can go and where I could get such a thing? Should I be careful?

A big thank you to you experts helping beginners all out.

    Pablo

    Hi friend

How you´re? Good hope, today I give you another clue (which, I hope, could perhaps help you... or not ;)))

Your CPU is already underway to * 1.70* Ghz but windows often displays with a few mhz more or less. If you want to know if your CPU is really clocked 1.70 Ghz then download 'CPU - Z', which is a good reliable tool measures on the CPU.

There should also be a tool that shows the frequency of the processor in real time and you'll see that the frequency of the processor performs constantly at 1.70 Ghz, it s more like a clock generator (which is a CPU) who will * autour * 1.70 Ghz.

Surely, you can try to upgrade, but here in this forum person won't give you instructions or advice. If you want to know what capabilities can check which chipset is installed, and with these specifications, you should be able to know what CPU probably would take it or not. Research a little bit is never bad ;)

    Here´s a useful link (I hope) for you: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/

Otherwise, my advice is to 'never change a market system'

  • Satellite M30, the processor speed?

    Hello

I received my laptop Toshiba m30 pentium 1.6 m John Lewis back after replacing the LCD screen. After using it for a few hours last night, I realized the fan did not come at once.
I checked the speed of the cpu and it is fixed at 600 mhz. I can't change it much matter what I do. It was fine until it went for repair. I put the option always entirely in the bios, but it's still 600 mhz. Even playing DVD is the same and the fan never turns on. Before that happened for repair, there is a Toshiba power save option where you can set the speed to always high or dynamic etc., but now there is only an option to adjust the level, either 1, 2 or 3. Also, I had already updated the bios to 1.60 and when I looked after taking over it was 1.20? Is there a reason why Toshiba needed to do this? I updated the bios to 1.60 and its still the same.

    Hello

looking at your history, it seems that you have had more than a replacement of the LCD screen. I guess the servicepartner has also changed the PCB (motherboard). If they do, they need to upgrade a special firmware to get the full speed of the CPU. If they fail to do this, the machine runs at a speed fixed 600 MHz. Just as you describe.
So, my suggestion, contact the serviceprovider and ask them if they have changed the motherboard and if they did, ask them to update the CPU microcode.

    Good luck

    Tom

  • Satellite M30-951 - processor clocked at 600 MHz (it must be at 1500) - high energy saving

    Hello

earlier this year, a company has changed the case of my laptop. Since that time on the laptop was very slow. I thought it has something to do with the software, but after a new installation, the problem was not solved.

Now, I used severel programs to check the speed of the CPU. Programms all tell me that my CPU Speed is 600 MHz (it must be at 1500 MHz).

The laptop is connectet to current alternative and energy-saving is high. I did a bios update and spent setting the CPU in the Bios of dynamics to high. But no sollution.

Then I saw that my fan does not (at the beginning, or when I use Notepad). I thought that his damaged, but I tested it on another laptop and the fan works perfectly with 5V.

Moreover no program shows me the temprature, so I think the sensor of temprature or anything else is failure, so that the fan does not work and the CPU is at each time at 600 MHz.

Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this problem or I have to change?

    Thank you very much

    Concerning

    Nassim

Seems you have tried almost everything that can be done now.
And I agree with you that there could be something wrong with temperature sensor and this is why I advise you to go to an authorized service provider to verify if this is really the problem.

Before you do, you could try if the programmable notebook hardware control (NHC) can display the temperature because it is a very good tool. But as you say, no other tool could do this job, I doubt that it can control it. But worth a try.

  • threads, processes and the dual core processors

    Hello

We use the CVI and we want to use multithreading. The application is running on a dual core processor, so the question is if it is possible to define the basis on which the thread is running? Does anyone know if it is possible to start a program, process, or a thread on a predefined kernel?

If this is not possible with the CVI, is it possible directly with the Windows API?

    Thank you
