  For three weeks I have Satellite A500-157. I had with Vista, but after a week, I installed Win7 (clean install). So far, I am convinced, and performance is really good.
  I does not have a lot of extra software. I use Office 2007, Skype, MSN messenger and Firefox only.
  Last week when I installed Win7 I have found no Win7 drivers for this model of laptop but I did the combination of Vista and Win7 for Satellite A350 pilots. Everything goes well.

  With all these stuff pre-installed and portable standard configuration runs stabile and pretty quiet (after updating the BIOS). I use the daily sleep/hibernation mode and up to now I did not notice anything unusual. Laptop wakes up correctly.

  Sound is pretty good, but I think that his was better on my older Satellite P200. Maybe the older speakers in P200 were slightly larger and more powerful.   I have a laptop SATELLITE A500-19N. My wlan collapsed on the overalls. Windows (7 65 bit) card says I should activate the hardware switch and the wireless communication is disabled. What I did:

  However, towards the end of the 1st DVD I get an error message saying "Faile dto open the next file. e:\Boot\BCD (0201123-F1-00000000 error code)"and then when I click 'OK', the DVD is ejected giving a message"unable to create recovery 1' media. Physical examination, I noticed that the DVD is written almost entirely.

  Any advise on this? In addition, in the interface, it shows a USB option and says to insert a USB media with more than 7 GB of free. That I can use it to create the recovery disk? If Yes, when I reinstall windows 7, this allows as a bootable drive?

  Try to create the recovery disk using only DVD-R media. Use high quality media like TDK or Verbatim.
