Satellite A505 - change standard user instead of administrator

Hello

I recently bought a Satellite A505-S6005. Windows 7 is already installed on the laptop.

The problem I encounter is that I'm a standard user. I'm not the administrator. I would like to change that, so I'll be able to change or install programs.
The problem came earlier, but the difference is that I don't have the windows 7 CD to start Setup again and choose administrator instead of the standard user.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi ManiakRe,

In my opinion it of not necessary to reinstall Windows. You can change user permissions in your control panel of the active administrator account set. Then you can use this account, but normally you shouldn't t use an account with permissions to administrator if you surf the Internet.

Also take a look on Google. There are enough pages they describe how to change user permissions.

  • How can I change Standard user to administrator?

user title: original Standard to the administrator

I've recently updated my laptop Compaq 32-bit of Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate.  During this conversion process, both user configured as an administrator reset to standard user accounts.  Now, I don't have anyway to keep my computer.  The system won't let me change.  How can I reset the administrator user accounts?  Or, how you're going to help me change the setting?

Let's look more closely your accounts. Please try this:
    1. click on start, then type the three letters cmd into the search box and press ENTER.
    2. type the following command:
    net localgroup administrators > '% UserProfile%\desktop\Admins.txt' {Enter}
    3. Paste the contents of the Office "Admins.txt" file in your reply.

  • How can my computer change a standard user to an administrator in itself?

I have three sons. Yesterday, I noticed that the user account for them had been changed from Standard user to administrator. This son don't know how to make such a change, even if he had Admin rights. It happened several times in the past, and after correcting, it happens again.

Today, I discovered that the accounts of two of my sons have been modified by the Standard user to administrator. Why is this happening? How the computer can change the type of account alone?

I checked the status of user account control, and the cursor is on "notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer.

Windows 7 gives me fits in too many areas.

I login or Administrator status seems to be granted just like my wife.

-> Have you ever checked if this happens when you start mode safe?

Frederik, I've responded to your suggestions several times.

-> September 5, I posted a second script and very detailed instructions. I can't see your response to it. I suspect that you have completely missed.

When I double-clicked on the program, nothing happened.

He could; depends entirely on the program. And not properly written (for Vista) progam should be installed by a standard user.

    Hello

Let a standard user can change to an administrator account. This is possible only if the standard user knows the administrator password or if the administrator does not have a password on the user account.

To block access to programs, it is required to connect to the computer as an administrator or at least know the admin password, if you try to block the program as a standard user.

  • I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account.

I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account. Now whenever I try to update or install "User Account Control" is constantly asking me to (type an administrator password, and then click OK). The problem is that I can't do this because OK is disabled (grayed out) and no place to type the admin password or the other. How to restore this administrator account or even to enable the local administrator account by default here?

    Hello

If you have another administrator user account on your computer then log in and change the account to standard user for the administrator account.   If not, then follow the steps from the link and check if that helps: how to use system restore to log on Windows 7 or Windows Vista when you lose access to an account http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940765/en-us

You can only change a Standard user to an administrator account administrator. That's why...

  • I can't change my user account type

    1. I can't change it back my administrator account type, I accidentally change standard user.
    2. How can I change it to administrator?
    3. I use window7

You yourself effectively painted into a corner. Here's how you can jump out of it and avoid a recurrence (requires a tiny amount of foresight...):

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before downgrade you your account.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
  • Demote a standard user account when the account was promoted to admin using a program named pclogin now

My son used pc connect now on upgade its standard user account to administrator now when I try to downgrade, it does nothing. I can't remove it or even when I try to put this in command prompt net user 'account' / del it says not found user account. How can I remove or demote

I was in an administrator account. When I did the brute force we were always there when I restarted the computer.

"Brute force" involves a little more by using an administrator account. Assuming that you want to delete the folder "C:\Users\Harry, you can do the following:

    1. Reboot the computer.
    2. Logging in as an administrator account.
    3. Click the start planet.
    4. Type cmd.exe in the search box.
    5. Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    6. Click on "Run as Administrator".
    7. Type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
      takeown /f "c:\Users\Harry" / r
      Cacls /g /T "C:\Users\Harry."
("are answer Yes when asked you sure?")
      RD /s /q "C:\Users\Harry."

    Orders are not reversible.

  • Accidentally changed both to 'standard user' user accounts, so now there is no user "administrator."

I changed the two accounts to standard user accounts, and now of course I can't make changes, or download anything. Whenever I try to change anything, a UAC popup window appears, but that still leaves me not chang anything. Help.

I think that window version my computer is XP (home).

    Thanking you in advance,

    Ms. lee

It must be a built-in Administrator account that does not remove-able.  When you get to the login screen, hit Ctrl-Alt-Del twice.  Then you should be able to enter "Admin" as user and leave the password empty (unless you have changed in the past).  Then, you should be able to create other users with administrator privileges or other functions of the administrator.
