Hello

I have a laptop A60-106 Satellie. For some reason or work shift pressed.
I even reinstalled XP and all the utilities Toshiba etc...
Any ideas please?

Antony

It's really not easy to say what is wrong, but you should test an external keyboard because the keyboard internal or let the shift keys are defective.

Have you installed your portable computer with the recovery disc or Microsoft? It is important to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to ensure that all the necessary drivers and tools are installed.

On the one hand I'm the A and the other side works like ESC.

    Help me I'm crazy.
    Thank you.

    Hello

To me that sounds more like a keyboard failure, I can't imagine that it could be linked to the question of the windows operating system do you have tested an external USB keyboard.

Please test this. In this case, you can check if it s really a software problem.
If the USB keyboard works correctly, it means that your internal keyboard is malfunctioning.

To use this Toshiba control buttons you will need a Toshiba control utility for Vista OS.

  • My shift key does not work on my MacBook Pro

My shift key does not work on my MacBook Pro. Can I use capital letters but only if I click on change and it's annoying. When I click on the passage icon shift comes at the top right of my screen to show its on but when I click on the lock button nothing happens as it used to glow green when I clicked it. Before someone says go to the system preferences and go to the modifier keys and restore them or make sure caps lock shift is on lock shift, I've tried that already, I looked it upward and found nothing similar. Help ASAP would be appreciated because it is really annoying

    Hello Gracepullan1,

I understand that shift key of your MacBook Pro does not respond as before. Fortunately the steps below can help to restore the functionality of the SHIFT key on your Mac.

    1. In the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    2. On the view menu, choose the speech.
    3. Click on the text to Speech tab.
    4. If "Text Speak selected when you press the button" is enabled, the key or combination of keys set to read the text cannot be used for other purposes, or used for typing text - click on set the key and replace it with a less commonly used key combination (try using the modifier such as SHIFT keys, command) Option and control). Or disable the option "Read the selected text when the key is pressed".
    5. Click the accessibility pane or universal access in system preferences, and then click the keyboard tab.
    6. Make sure the slow keys is off. With slow keys on, you must press a key for a longer period of time so he can be recognized.
    7. In the accessibility pane or universal access, click the mouse and make sure mouse keys is turned off. With the active mouse buttons, you cannot use the numeric keypad to enter numbers - instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to activate the MouseKeys to five presses down option, you can disable this option to avoid accidentally activate it.) If the mouse keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard without the numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Impossible to type while mouse keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
    8. If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard do not work as expected, see Mac OS x: how to change the behavior of the function keys.
    9. If the problem persists, use the keyboard Viewer to help isolate the problem:
      1. Click the component language & text (Mac OS X v10.6) or international (Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier) in system preferences.
      2. Click on the tab Input Sources (or tab Menu entry under Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier version).
      3. Click on the keyboard and the characters 'On' box Viewer checkbox to select (click on the viewer of keyboard "On" checkbox under Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
      4. In the entry menu (flag), choose Show Keyboard Viewer.

  • If the keyboard is connected and detected by OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application) and try to type something using the keys that failed before to see if they highlight in the keyboard Viewer.
  • Start up from the Mac OS X installation disc, choose Terminal from the utilities menu and test buttons that did not previously.  If the keys work while started from the install disc, the keyboard works correctly.  How to solve a problem of software allows to isolate the software problem that may be causing the keys to not answer.

    Hello

I put t know if you have the original Tools & Utilities CD for this camera. If so there must be advice that the common modules (V.5.03.00) must be installed as a first step, before you install any other tool or utility. This order of the facilities is very important because the common modules is a kind of module which is very important for the other features of the tools.

Also check out this CD if there is some sort of html file with installation instructions. If you can't find anything please post again. Maybe we can find something to help you.

  • Satellite P300D - 12L: Enter key did not work in games like FIFA, NFS

    Hi all!

    I own a laptop Tshiba Satellite P300D - 12 L.
In the last month, I got Win XP 32-bit installed and it became a strange problem: the Enter key did not work in games like FIFA, NFS, but in others, and in the office, it worked normal applications.

A few days ago, I installed Win 7 64 bit and now I have the same problem.

Recently I went to my local Toshiba service and they told me, about this problem, it's a software issue, so I changed my OS.

Anyone know what I can do to solve my problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

You mean the Enter key works in common applications such as Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, or some editors correctly?
Only these few games are troubled?

    Hmm that's strange
You use the latest version of the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then update it!
You can find the latest version of the BIOS on the European driver Toshiba page

    Hello

The FN keys should work after install Toshiba common Modules.
Depending on your other threads you have not installed the common Modules on this laptop and I assume that this is the reason why don t FN keys work properly.

    The solution is simply.
-Go to the page of the European driver Toshiba
-Choose your laptop computer and downloaded and install the common modules

  • Satellite A500-15N: FN keys do not work

    Hello

    I hope someone can help,
The function key does not work in windows (I mean here the keys Fn + F6/7 change the brightness during the windows loading screen). There also seem to be buttons along the top of the keyboard (commodity the power button), but these also does not work and never have (and if they are sposed to light up they don't do that either). To let you know where I am, I received my upgrade to windows 7 and installed as the instructions in the package yesterday, (although I had the lappi for a week, I waited for the upgrade before installing anything) but once it was installed, I found he had installed the 32-bit version After trying to re - install vista 64-bit of the unsuccsesfully partition, I finally have reistalled Windows 7 64-bit DVD upgrade, (I think I should add that when it has finished installing any additional software IE.) Toshiba software, McAfee, etc. was installed)...
I downloaded all the software Toshiba on the site, including the update of the bios (V1.50) and the update of recovery, I searched on the web and the forums and although have managed to install the infrared port that there appear to be no driver for on the dirver for this notebook page, these keys Fn stupid are making fun of me anyway... Please help :D

    THX Telico

PS. I have a Tosh A500-15N and I forgot to say that I tried to do a new installation to see if that would solve the problem, but the ability to recover from the hidden partition is not available on the list, you get to by pressing F8 as windows starts (although the partiotion still exists)

    Post edited by: Telico

Hey man, you made it so complicated but in fact all it is so easy and it s pitty, that you have not written of this before you start the upgrade procedure.

I did update Win7 on friends Satellite A500 month last successfully. This means, he had the factory settings (Vista 32-bit) and we have installed Win7 upgrade using the Toshiba upgrade kit. Laptop works perfectly.

    Back to your question:
HARD drive recovery option (F8 and repair my computer) is available with the factory only settings.
If I understand you right, you did a fresh install of Win7. This option won't be available more, and the image recorded on the second partition is useless now and can no longer be cast.

You can get it if you reinstall Toshiba recovery image. Have you created any such recovery disc recommended by Toshiba?

I checked Toshiba support and download page and Win7 64 bit is supported on your laptop model and you can do clean install Win7 and install all missing things also. You will be the factory settings but works fine Win7.

If you need more information please let us know.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Fn keys does not work with Windows Vista

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site ([http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT]).
BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32 contained in this file: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080404121735.zip]

After the installation of the operating system, I installed "Value package" ([http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-20080109135106.zip]) that contains the "utility Flash Cards". In my understanding, the installation of the "value added package" should allow the use of Fn keys.
This doesn't seem to be true or not true.

    Here's what's happening.

-Prior to installation of the 'value-added' package, all Fn keys did not work.
-After installation of the "value added package", if the process of TCrdMain.exe is running, all Fn keys do not work.
-If I remove the startup TCrdMain.exe and I restart the PC, only a few keys Fn function (Fn + ESC, Fn + F1).

There is no way (or I have not found a way) for all keys Fn works.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance,

    mme000

I am not sure, but it may be because of the SP1. I installed Vista Ultimate on A200 and stuff all listed (drivers, tools and utilities) from Toshiba support page.

Contains your Vista DVD facilities SP1 or you install on your own? If you install Vista Ultimate Edition (without SP1) and all the stuff on the Toshiba support site order Instructions of facilities.

  • Satellite A135-s2326 - shortcut keys do not work after installing XP

    Hello

    I have Toshiba Satellite A135-s2326

I kill Vista and installed Xp on it, but the shortcut keys do not work now.

Someone knows how to fix this?

Do you mean the FN button functionality?

Well buddy, the question is clear like a Crystal, the buttons FN don t work after the Win XP because the necessary drivers have not been installed.

But first he must know that it is a series of models Toshiba us.
I checked the Toshiba page us and unfortunately, I didn't find any Win XP tools or drivers for this model of laptop.

It seems that you will have to use the laptop without the functionality of the FN button if you want to use Win XP. :(
