Satellite A660 - 12 fall down during the update of the BIOS, start again

Hi all

I bought my laptop A660-12th in June 2010, and a few months I've been encountering frequent problems of freezing of the screens, stops unsollicitated... so I decided to clean up my computer and update programs the computer base (including the BIOS) with the latest versions available on the Toshiba site, hoping it would be more correctly.

Then, when it came to upgrading the BIOS. I wanted to do it slowly because I know this is the most delicate point in the update, but I don't know what is happening during this step: program launched barely (and it was the only program running) that it has been already updated my BIOS, and in this special moment my laptop automatically go restarted... obviously I don't have BIOS more because my computer does not start still, the screen does not display anything AT ALL. There is just the noise of the fan and the lights when I turn it on, but that's all.

I am so very angry to the Toshiba BIOS update program (and also Toshiba), because I feel that I have everything done correctly, but nevertheless this update bricked just my computer.

Is it possible to get it back, or do you also think it bricked and lost?

I'm afraid BIOS is dead now and what you need now is a professional help from m.
I highly recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help.

    Josefa Hello,

It sounds as if you of the BIOS chip was damaged during the attempt to update failed, and unfortunately this will prevent you from starting your laptop so that you can tyr to redo the update.

In my view, that it will be necessary to bring or send the laptop to a Toshiba authorized service agent who has the equipment necssary to re flash your BIOS chip.

  • Satellite A660 - beep sound stuttering during the use of Player multimedia CD player

    I have a boring beep and stuttering (music is delayed momentarily every few seconds, type electronic interference noise) when using the media player or CD player. I took the laptop for a repair under warranty where they replaced the motherboard without success, they then informed me that they believed that it was a software problem, and a reinstall of Windows 7 was necessary if I've done the following with the recovery disks that I created in that order, results in parentheses;

-restore the factory software (no change still beeps and stutters)
-formatted the HD (initially, I thought that solved the problem but after beginning dload and install about 80 Windows updates the question came back)
-formatted the HD once again (once more I thought that the problem has been resolved, but I heard the beep/stuttering only once or twice)

Given this HD format takes 26 hours, I will not begin to dload/install updates including Windows 7 until I can try something else or have an answer.

If anyone can shed some light on this issue, the noise is terrible review it was purchased as a unit of entertainment media playback.

Thanks for any help in advance here.

No problem. The bad news is that confirms that this is not a problem at the user level. I think you really need to uninstall CC, and then run the cleanup tool (CS for installation problems cleaning tool |) CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3), then reinstall.

Today only has what is going on has begun - BB8320 synchronizes very well until the moment of synchronization of calendar (outlook 2003) I get this error message

have you tried re - start (laptop and phone), have the modified sync settings, but always crashes at the same point - form 23 of the 35 records.  Someone at - it ideas?

Well, if the sync has gone well, you must have in your blackberry 22 items. Maybe they are stored in chronological order?
Anyway, 22 out of 35, which means that there are more than 7 events that can cause the problem. just wipe everything and re-create them then!

For the reason for the bug... here is maybe something at the event? an attachment, a special category...

  • Animate edge falls down during the collage

    Hi all

I use Edge animate 1.5. Until today, the experience has been great! Today, however, whenever I try to paste or duplicate something, I get the message "an error has occurred."

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

    Hi, Andrew.

I was able to reproduce the bug on my side.  The good news (for me), it is already fixed in the latest version of Animate.  It happens also on Mac and Win, then you are probably impossible to escape.  That being said, there is another way to do exactly what you want to do: copy your item from your components panel or mounting and right-click in the same pane.  Select "paste special" > "Paste it all."  Your active and all transitions will be pasted as if you had selected "duplicate".  I just confirmed that the accident does not happen in this case.

Thanks for the presentation of a report as detailed - it really helped to be able to reproduce the problem on my side.  I hope that the solution is simple enough to use in daily work.

    See you soon,.

  • ENVY 100 printer D410 - screen says "Do not, power down during the update" permanently.

I'm a Mac user Mavericks 10.9.1 running on a Mac Book Pro.

I have a HP ENVY 100 D410 printer that works your for a few years.

Recently, the LCD screen of the display on the printer offered, "there is a new driver. You want to update? "(Yes/no)

    (Or something close to that.)

    Unfortunately, I chose 'yes '.

The printer then tried to update, but eventaully the LCD screen on the printer displays a flashing message:

"Do not feed, down during the update"

The printer now flashes just this screen continuously. The LCD screen will not display anything other than this message.

The printer works when connected by cable and wireless. (Airprint works very well).

I can scan documents, I can print pages, I can even access printers "Web page.

But the LCD touch screen control panel is 'stuck' in flashing update message.

I can't find any way to clear this error and allow the printer to complete the update.

    Help. Please, I beg you.

    Hello

There is a fix to resolve the specific problem, but I'm afraid it is only available for earlier operating systems under OS X 10.5 and 10.6, Windows XP, Vista or 7.

I you suggest to get a computer with any operating system supported, install the latest version of the software on the HP site using a USB and then follow the steps.

The latest version of the software can be found below (the basic software should be sufficient):

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4062&product=4073738&softwareitem=MP-92513-1&sw_lang=&

Make sure that you carefully go through the procedure to the installation section in the patch download page.

    Hope that helps,

    Shlomi

  • Satellite P100: Multiprocessor is disabled in the BIOS v4.20

    Hello

I have just updated the bios to 4.20, after reboot, I went to the bios settings and saw that the multiprocessor (the option for the use of 2 CPUs) is disabled.

After I enabled it, the computer is very slow, and I had problems with starting the computer.

When the multiprocessor option is disabled, the computer works ok, but the Task Manager indicates that a single processor.

I had to go down to the bios to version 4.00.
I would like to know if there is another solution for this.

    Hello

In front of me, I have Satellite P100-191. I did the BIOS update to version 4.20, and in my case, Multiprosessor is undoubtedly permissible. In this case, the entry in the Device Manager shows 2 processors.

I disabled this option and the laptop runs slowly than before and in the device manager what a processor is listed.

I don't really know what is wrong in your case, but I can confirm that the Satellite P100-191 friends, everything works well.

    Hello

    ·         Update is causing the problem?

    ·         You get the error message?

    Method 1:

Try to install the update to the clean boot and check if it helps.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Don't forget to start your machine in normal mode by following step 7 of the link.

    Method 2:

You can try temporarily turning on all security software and then try the updates again.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.

My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

    Check this box!

Sounds like an Energy Saver preference, but what computer do you use?  A G5 (PowerPC) machine will not work on El Capitan.
