Satellite C50-A-1DV - mouse / keyboard problem

Just bought this laptop and have heard of problems with the keyboard and mouse.
It happened to me today.

The mouse stops just in response to the movement of the keyboard.
Thought that update of Windows 8 may have changed / added something so this causes rolled the driver in Device Manager that was available as an option, but now is not.

The mouse still works sometimes and sometimes not. If I press F5 it sometimes is.

using the FN and F5 took me to the keyboard layout where I set the keyboard to the default setting and it worked well for a while and then stopped again.

Someone suggested removing the battery and now the switch for 20 seconds, but has nothing actually. Is an appropriate solution for this outside assistance from a separate mouse?

All thoughts welcome.

Thank you

Dave

Hello Deborah

The touchpad could be simply disabled in case where you have not checked it in the past, the combination of keys try Fn + F5 to switch from a touchpad on/OFF function.

In case this does not resolve your problem, reinstall the electric Synaptics and Alps Touchpad driver.
Both can be found and downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page:

  • Touchpad and sleep questions on Satellite C50-A-1DV

I bought a Satellite C50-A-1DV for my wife and noted 2 significant 'features' that, to all purposes intention should be easily solved, but I'm damned if I can cure for her.

1 the touchpad (at least, I assume it is the touchpad) seems incredibly sensitive. Supervised, another workspace (Windows 8) seem to open even without direct contact with the pad. It's really very annoying, but it's pretty much within the limits to be able to live with it.

2nd machine is unexpected drops in a sleep/power saving mode. Now personally I have not met this when running through controls on it, but the pain in my ear tells me otherwise.

Anyone else experienced this or better yet have a solution to this?

Changes to the touchpad can be applied very easily:
Go to control panel-> mouse control
Last tab device settings would offer you some additional options to enhance the functionality of the touchpad.

Take a look at this Toshiba HowTo doc on the touchpad settings. It should be useful for you:
[How do I change the settings of the Synaptics touchpad in Windows 8? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD3101Z30000R01.htm]

    > the machine is down unexpectedly in a sleep/energy saving of 2nd mode. Now personally I have not met this when running through controls on it, but the pain in my ear tells me otherwise.

Well, you could disable or change the settings of the unique power of the Panel-> power options.
You will find the option for standby and hibernation

  • Satellite C50-A-1DV - reinstall the pre-installed Win8

    Hello

A few months ago, I bought a new Toshiba laptop (Satellite C50-A-1DV, PSCG6E-08P01CEN, Win8). I tried to double win8 with Linux I needed in my study. But something went wrong and I lost the windows. I did a full backup to my system, including the windows and profiles folders just in case.
Is there anyway for me to get my 8 win using these files?

    Thanks in advance,

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. S user guides document is clearly describes how you can create a recovery (DVD or USB) media and use it in the situation if HDD recovery installation doesn t work.

  • Cannot find drivers for Satellite C50-A-1DV 8.1 Win

    Hello.

I reinstalled windows 8.1 from Disc I have, but I'm having driver problems, namely find some support pilot on the Toshiba site.

It seems that my phone is not listed, or I can't find it in the support section for drivers.

The drivers so that I am looking are the drivers of the motherboard.
I already tried a pilot site, but my laptop took a good few minutes to turn off after a stop so I doubt than those who were correct. I will try the software intel chipset device and see if it gives me good.

Rest of the drivers, I can get enough simple through the Manager of devices, but not the chipset drivers and probably usb 3.0 also.

On a side note, I noticed I don't need to type the key that I wrote using belarc, I guess that it is registered in the BIOS and windows auto detect it correctly?

    Hello

According to specification for laptop, your laptop comes with Windows preinstalled 8.1 64 bit so what you need to do is to reinstall the original recovery image that contains all the necessary drivers.

When you say you have installed Win 8.1 from disk, does that mean exactly?
Did you install your own OS version or the original version of Win8.1 recovery disk created?

Anyway, al Win8.1 64-bit drivers, you can download at Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
There you can find all the drivers for your C50-A-1DV Satellite with PSCG6E part number.

    Check it out.

Hi N H key and there do not work on the keyboard, sometimes also the arrow keys does not work.
any advise? or search and return? It s not even ages of two months and has this problem since day 1.
Not only still used little. Very disappointing quality...

    SATELLITE C50 - B - 11 D

    >... and has this problem since the day 1
Why wait so long? Where this problem occurs from the beginning, it is always possible to return the laptop to your local dealer and ask for replacement.

Anyway, do last and final test. Reinstall the original recovery image and check if the problem persists. If so I think you should contact the closest service Toshiba and ask for help. Your laptop is new and its warranty valid, they will help you.

Maybe new update BIOS, if available, may help, but first try to clarify this issue with the technicians.

  • Satellite C50-A-1DV freezes

    Hello

I bought a C50 A 1DV SATELLITE in June and had any other problems with it.

It opens programs slow and freezes a lot, especially during video playback. I already did a complete reset (case reference 73179371) over my problems and it did not help. I can't get help here!

    Hello

I think that the freezing issues described are related to overload the system windows.
Maybe you should just clean the system and should disable unnecessary processes that typically run in the background of the system.

Install the freeware software called CCleaner. This tool allows you to disable the process when the system is started. Note: some features from process controls as key function or Bluetooth phone. So be careful while doing this, and if you n t know the process, google to more information or don t turn off.

  • Care need for Satellite C50-A-1DV

Everywhere, and have been nothing else than the frustration of trying to use the services of Toshiba 'help' heavy and largely unnecessary.

If anyone can help, I need the specs for the i3 C50-A-1DV Satellite.
I looked for an hour now and I can't find anything.
In short, I want to buy the new memory - update 4-8 GB - but I can't find any info beyond
    What ddr3.

    Hello

Autour Googling, I found the tracking information: your laptop model can be improved up to 16 GB.
RAM modules compatible you can use are:
    2 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M8G
By using these reference numbers you can find the complete specification but it takes DDR3 1600 MHz.

I recommend you to use Rams compatible and quality only.

  • Satellite C50-A-1DV - keyboard, type multiple letters

    Hello

I was wandering if someone can help out me.
My laptop keeps typing additional letters.

So when I type we'll say the word dogg. "dog", I'm frustrated
Someone can tell me if I need to send this back to the store, or is their something I can try to solve the problem.

Partition is an example of line I'm not such a bad speller.
It is howw is just my laptop to type please help me because I am pulling my hair out.

    Thank you

    I am running windows 8.1

Connect the external USB keyboard and check if the same problem of double letters appear using this external USB keyboard.

If the symptoms of double letters will not appear with the external keyboard, the internal computer keyboard must be faulty.

This means that the internal keyboard needs to be replaced to solve the problem.
But if even the double letter appears using the external keyboard, then the keyboard controller (part of the motherboard) may be affected.

Not quite sure if this could be corrected by BIOS updated, but where your BIOS is not updated, try updating the BIOS.

Otherwise, I recommend you contact the authorized Toshiba maintainer for a control.

  • Satellite Pro P300-19 q - keyboard problem

    Hello

I bought a * Satellite Pro P300-19 q * laptop and got the shipment yesterday. I am happy with the features and performance of the laptop. It has a keypad as well. The problem is the key board sinks and rises all the keys the keys (lower-right). I feel like its not secure properly. The key to this place Board feels fragile and irritating during use. Even some of my laptops at low prices to friends do not experience this problem. I can't live with it like that because it's a new laptop.
Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you
    Ravi

    Hello

Satellite Pro P300 I almost three months now and I can confirm that keyboard on this area is not stable on the other side, but it moves when I press with very great strength. Typing normal I do not use so much force and I have very sensitive keys. Just give a contact, and the symbols are on the screen. I use laptops for a year now and type on the computer keyboard is different as standard desktop with large and robust keys keyboard.

To be honest, I don't see any problem here. Maybe you use to force much press. If you check the mechanism under the keyboard protects it's so small and sensitive, and you can press the keys very gently.

So for me there is no problem at all. If you think that the keyboard should be more service contact stabile and explain the situation.

  • Satellite L450 - 18 d - language keyboard problem

    Hello!

I have a Toshiba Satellite L450 - 18 d, which was purchased in England in May and then sent to me to Portugal, so I chose Portuguese as default language for my keyboard. However, for the last two weeks, I had this problem: since I installed Microsoft Office 2007 and the Office SP2 update, I had this curious situation with accents - instead of see only 1 focus whenever I click on a button, I see 2 accents (with one click).

    Something like this:
"(1 click); ~ ~ (1 click); ´´´ (2 clicks) and so on. This is * huge *, _because we use a lot of accents in portuguese_ - for example, I should be able to write + português + (written in Notepad) and not + Português ^ ^ are +!

Now, this does not occur when I use Notepad, but happens to all other programs (Office, Works, OpenOffice,...) and also in my browser (Mozilla Firefox). Is it possible that I can manually remove or manipulate focus associated with a specific key? I tried to change the default language of Brazilian Portuguese and uninstall Office 2007, but the problem remains... It would be associated with an update about Office?

    Thanks for your time!
    Petra

    Hey,.

To be honest this really strange behavior...

Interesting, it would be if you remove Microsoft Office if the problem still exists or not. If so, it seems to be related to Microsoft Office and therefore, you must contact Microsoft for the detailed response.

Otherwise, you can check only the keyboard input language. Make sure that only one language is defined.

  • Satellite A30: For those inventive keyboard problem

    Hello

My problem is that I spilled juice on my Satellite A30. Since MN then. keys on the keyboard do not respond. I think it has to do with the fact that the juice having disappeared left a sort of insulation under the buttons. I wonder if anyone can advise me on the following:

    1. How can I remove the keyboard off Satellite A30? The manual does not give an indication on it.

    2. is it possible to remove faulty buttons, clean the surface below them and put back them without any problem? I heard that once removed laptop keyboard buttons cannot be placed back correctly.

3 should. what solution I use to clean the remains of juice? My only idea is to use some sort of soapy solution.

4 wouldn't be allright just to put the keyboard without removing faulty buttons in a solution and keep it for a while until all the juice remains are taken away? The keyboard let completely dry and replace in place? Or, maybe there is a way to disassemble the keyboard in order to break the circuit so that it can be cleaned without worries?

I hope you people help me get through this question cause I don't want to spend a fortune on a new keyboard, as people in the service center possibly won't bother to clean up my keybard and will just get away with ordering a new.

OK, thanks for your ideas and consideration.

    Hello

If the buttons just does not have the "n" and am ' ones, then you may be able to clean adequately without the need to disassemble your A30.

First, you need to remove the covered buttons involved. To do this gently prising upward from the bottom edge of each button (use the SPACEBAR as a rest for a small flat blade so that you can lift buttons up. Once the keys are deleted (not to lose) you will be able to see the cantilever spring mechanism that makes electrical contact when you press it. Carefully clean the area with a small cotton swab (or even a small brush) and a lot of alcohol isoproyl (or an electrical contact, cleaning solution). I hope that this will restore the normal operation of the keys.

To replace the top key locate top edge first and lower aid in position and apply progressive pressure the bottom of the key top until your feel/hear a 'click '.

If all else fails, then you need to replace the keyboard, but fortunately, they are not too expensive (about £65 I remember well).

    Good luck

  • Satellite L555 - 11L - Sound and keyboard problem

    (1) 2 months after the purchase, laptop began screaming sound. He brought back to Fnac, they restored the system. The screeching starts now if the level of speakers is higher than 50% or if I plug headphones with microphone. Making it difficult to use Skype. What could be the cause?

((2) recently, keyboard became slow - Return key and SPACEBAR react unless you press several times and 'double letters' (repeat) will not work unless I stop everything first before typing the new letter--regardless of the letter). I tried to change the properties of keyboard long/short, delay/frequency, no difference. Browsing the forum, I noticed that + users with similar problems also have a computer laptop french keyboard +. Would he be there? What should I try how can I set the properties of the keyboard, anyway?

    Thanks for help.
