Satellite C660-15 wireless

Hello useful people

I just got my new Netbook from Satellite C660-15. To get rid of all the bloatware installed on the new netbook, I formatted and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. I combined to leave them hard drive and being silly did not have a proper backup of the presumption of installed recovery software drivers that I required would be on the site Web of Toshiba.
The wireless device does not work.

The driver (version 1005.18.0413.2011 RTL8188CE) installs OK and said peripheral works properly, but does not see wireless networks.
Is this the correct wireless card? I tried to download and install various Realtek drivers, as well as those on the Toshiba site (Atheron Broadcom etc.).

I've seen people be said on the forum not to unsuccessfully WLAN drivers because they may stop working. Unfortunately the last one is the only one I can find on the
Internet.

I tried windows 32-bit and 64-bit with different drivers, that none works. The wireless worked when the netbook is here.
Maybe I should have kept the bloatware.

Thanks in advance

Hello

I would check the specifications of the laptop but you didn't write the name of the laptop all (C660-15?). Can you please post it again?

In any case, if the wireless network adapter is installed correctly, but none of the available WLAN networks are perhaps visible is your card not enabled wireless network? Usually you can do this by using the FN + F8 key combination. Can you use it?
Seeing WLAN on when you scan the area?

Please use ConfigFree tool and check if the wireless network adapter is correctly enabled.

BTW: the biggest mistake is that you don't l l create recovery DVDs.

    Hello

If the wireless network adapter does not work or its lack in the device, the FN + F8 key combination Manager would not work.
So the problem is your wireless network card.

The WLan card driver is missing or malfunctioning of the WiFi chip.
The device uses the Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.
Have you installed the chip RTL8188CE WLan driver?
    Make sure what you've done!

Otherwise, if the WLan card is not listed in the Manager (no unknown device or Ethernet controller) devices marked with yellow exclamation point I guess that the module is faulty.

I put t know what WLan driver version you are using and I don t know what BIOS is preinstalled on your laptop, so I recommend you update the BIOS. Then download the latest driver for WiFi (Realtek RTL8188CE) for this device and update it.

Have you noticed the same problem with WiFi using another standard Wlan as 802.11 B or G?

The laptop seems to supports the 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.
You can compare the version of the driver Wlan available including the version available here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads
the last seems to be: 1005.19.0420.2011

In addition, it would be interesting to know if the WiFi network disconnects using only the power of dough or also use laptop connected to the power adapter.

It would be possible that the system saves energy and this affects the Wlan functionality.
In this case, you should disable this option in: Device Manager-> WLan card-> properties-> last tab (power management).

  • Satellite C660-108 - Wireless does not work

    Hey everybody,

New to the forum, I had to sign up because of a problem with shame. I would like to apologize in advance because I know nothing about how computers work.

I have a toshiba satellite c660-108, windows 7 OS. Yesterday I was updating it and I used it very well after that I restarted. He stops and went to bed. Today, I turned on and he did a system restore, don't know why. So all went through and then it wouldn't connect to the internet wireless, only ethernet cable (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=69127&tstart=0 - same problem as far as I can tell).

I'm in the middle of my diploma thesis and word does not work now, so I did a full factory restore hoping everything would be ok. This isn't.

Ive tried to download the driver toshiba wireless, just didn't work. It currently downloads Realtek but I'm sure it won't work either.

How to get another wireless network card?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    James

The essential is that you it works again.
    So congratulations. :)

  • Satellite C660 - 1440 Wireless connection interruption on battery

My satellite seems to suffer from an unstable WiFi connection. It seems to be worse when operating on battery. I read a few comments in the FAQ, indicating that it might be an old driver or my settings for energy savings.

I installed a newer driver and also tried to change the energy settings on my adapter (not allowing to close), but without satisfying the result. Other options I could try. I find it rather annoying, especially because my I - pod works great on WiFi...

    And Satellite you need exactly?
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop (factory settings)?

  • Loss of wireless connection casual on satellite C660-115

    Hey,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite c660 (2.5 years now, I think) and I have problems with my wireless connection (for 3 weeks now).
Never had any problems with my connection before.

When I use my laptop + - every hour my laptop disconnects Internet and immediately connects again.
My computer is often used for playing games online and after 3 weeks, it's starting to annoy me, because I need to restart the whole game etc...

Now, I have already updated all my WLAN drivers, I have the latest version of the BIOS update, and I adapted my energy profile settings to make sure that my computer is not turning off my wireless connection.

I really think that the problem is on my computer because I have the same problem on 2 different networks.
Don't know what to do, I hope someone can help me.

    Kind regards
    Jeroen

  • Continual loss of wireless connection with Satellite C660

    Hello

I hope that someone out there might be able to help.

I've had my Satellite C660 for about 18 months now. Since the first day we had continual problems connecting to the wireless network. It connects but then lost the connection again a few minutes later, and then after a few more minutes, he reconnects. And the circle continues. An Ethernet cable didn't improve things.

Initially, the problem is solved by leaving the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

We have new broadband services and the router installed and the problem came back now, but this time the fix of power cable does not work, and once again an Ethernet cable does not work.

The laptop is now continues to lose the connection, and it's very frustrating. I have 2 other laptops from Dell, 2 tablets, and they all work very well, never losing connection.

Can someone give me it please advice on what could cause this problem and how to fix it (easily!).

I can't wait to hear your thoughts and thank you in advance for your help.

    Glenn

    > Initially solved the problem by letting the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

I think WiFi disconnects due to energy savings.
As you say, linking the main specifications address the issue. I think because of the connection of the AC adapter, the laptop switches to another profile of power where Wlan energy saving is disabled.

Therefore, I recommend to change the power profile that is used in battery mode.
-> Panel-> power option choose the power profile that you use in battery mode
Now, select advanced to change power settings
You will find an option called settings of the adapter wireless (or something like that)
The mode option of battery and AC adapter must use the performance parameters

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 29G does not detect wireless networks

    Hello.

    I own a SATELLITE C660 - 29 G PSC1LE, bought in Spain.

Once shaped my development pc, I installed Windosws 7 64-bit.

As I lost the DVD attached to the purchase of the laptop, I have downloaded all the drivers for my model based on the Toshiba site

I installed all the drivers and the thing is that the wireless card is most recognized. I canĀ“t see WiFi available.

I connect to the laptop with a cable to get access to the internet and it works properly.

    Could you please help me?
    Thank you.

You can first test what is the status of the WLAN card in Device Manager?
Wireless network adapter installed and registered correctly?

If yes do not forget the wireless network card is enabled.
    Please check and post comments.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL-wireless button do not work running 8.1 Win

    Hello

my wireless button does not work. I have windows installed 8.1,
I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.

    Any suggestion?

As much as I know the Satellite C660 can't win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.
I think you can use Win 8.1 but be aware that there is no guarantee that you can use all the features of the special specifications.

    > I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.
I doubt that this is correct since VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

However, try to install the driver of Toshiba and Toshiba function Key Utility system to win 8.1
You can download this software that has been released for other series like Sat C870 for example.

  • Wireless adapter has disappeared on my Satellite C660-22V

Hi, I am very well to this new and have knowledge on this SUBJECT.

The situation is, my computer had a problem turning on and the opportunity to restore to a previous point in time, that I continued with. After the completion of this and that the computer opens completely, the wireless adapter is no longer meet!

I tried to look in the network and sharing Center, there is no option for a wireless adapter, only one ethernet adapter unplugged.

I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C660-22V

    Thank you!
    Tom

    > I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

What devices appear in Device Manager under the category network cards?
    Is any unknown device visible?

To my knowledge, this Satellite C660-22V has been fitted with a 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.

For installation of the driver Realtek RTL8188CE WLan should help to make it work (of course, just in case a missing driver would be the problem)

By the way: what system are you using?
