    ·         How did perform a restore factory on your computer?

    ·         Who is the manufacturer of your computer?

    Note:

If you had done a factory restore using recovery discs system provided by the manufacturer of the computer or by using the recovery on your computer partition. You will not be able to recover user files and folders on your computer. Perform the restore factory on a computer will format the entire hard drive and re - install a new copy of Windows. This process is not reversible except as the system restore.

Difference between restoring the system and restore the factory:

System Restore is a Windows system restore. It resets Windows and a majority of programmes to registered previous States, defeating all updates, new facilities and changes to settings that have happened after the restore point has been set. It is not, however, recover deleted data files or get rid of the infection. Your data will not be affected by the Windows system restore.

System of recovery or factory restore , this is generally what the constructor calls their built-in tool to reset the entire computer to factory default. If your computer came with restore or recovery disks, then they do the same thing. All data on the system wiped and only what came on the system initially is reinstalled, with the kind permission of the recovery disks. All your data, added programs and ideally viral infections are removed, and the system is as if it was when you bought

You can use any third-party data recovery software and check if you can retrieve lost data or images of your hard drive.

No idea how to reset it to factory settings? the use of workspace > reset to saved the layout seems to be the only option that obviously doesn't work.

  • Qosmio F60 trying to return to the factory settings

    Hi all

I recently purchased a Qosmio F60. When I started it upward and the preload Windows 7 has started to install, I clicked on the option for 64-bit. A few days later, after the installation of a few other programs I noticed in configuration/system board that windows was reported as 32-bit. (Yes, I'm sure that I chose 64-bit). He noted also that 4gig ram withonly 2.98 usable.

First of all, can someone explain why this could be?

I had not created a recovery disk because I planned to load the machine with all the programs that I use regularly and THEN create the recovery disk and image. However now that I see that windows is apparently loaded as 32 bits I want to return to the beginning and reload the windows preinstalled as 64-bit. I really need it to make full use of the suite cs4 Adobe. And I'm confused as to why only three-quarters of my ram is usable.

I backed up the data (a little), I've created so far and the TOSAPINS file and put it on a USB key. What is the best way to restore it to how it was when I got it out of the box? It came with preloaded trial of Office 2007, and Norton, versions.

If I go back to the system default Toshiba Restore Point will it take me back to where I re - load Windows? Or is it just restore point after installing windows?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Can you please tell us what F60 (F60 - xxx) have you exactly.
It is really strange that you have it with 32-bit because I know with certainty that this machine comes with 64-bit only.

To be honest, there is no sense to install 32-bit on such portable high-end with excellent material. Please try to install the recovery image using HARD drive recovery procedure. Procedure is described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

    Please note:
When you want to create the recovery DVD you will get recovery on that image if all applications that you will install in addition will appear not in this recovery image.

  • Aspire V3-771 Wireless Windows 7 Ultimate edition will not return to the factory settings

    Hello everyone,

So I entered in safe mode and saved all my valuable information. The laptop has windows 7 Home Edition. I decided to install W7 Ultimate RTM. So when I was doing that, I formatted ALL partitions that I saw on the screen. After that i have PXE boot problem. I realized that I need to connect my lan cable. Ok. After that the computer does not start, it shows just acer splash screen and immediately restarts again and again and again. I tried to click ALT + F10. At the bottom left, I saw "switch to erecovery" or something like that. After pressing alt + f10 there is a '_' in the upper left corner, and the Frank is frozen. So I can't even boot to see victory logo, even I can't return my phone to factory settings. Just to note I have no CD with my PC, only the power chords and that's all. The House of win 7 was already languages. Please guys help me how to fix my laptop.
    Best regards

Well, you could have done your own recovery discs when you bought your PC!

I agree that it is a shame that you can't get a copy of the disks where you live!

If you are happy to have a cracked version of Windows, it is to you. Even if you can open a Pandora's box, we'll agree disagree on the question

As for the problem of button, it could be a sign of a faulty keyboard or it could be a software problem. A few copies of cracking are so changed, it could be an error in the code!

You can try and run a Linux live disk to see if it happens there. If so, then the keyboard will be replaced.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Satellite C660-1LD and OpenGL video card

    Hello

I bought a program that needs a graphics card with openGL driver - how do I know if my laptop has this? If it is not person knows if I can get one and if so where to go?

Also how can I update the driver on my laptop (if I need because I think they get the automatic updates)?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

OpenGL is a standard specification and an interface for applications that produce 2D and 3D computer graphics. OpenGL is open source.
There is also another standard called DirectX. This is from Microsoft and most graphic drivers media and contains the DirectX instead of OpenGL.

    How to get the OpenGL?
Well, the OpenGL must be part of the graphics card driver, so you have to find a driver already include the OpenGL as shown here:
    http://www.OpenGL.org/wiki/Getting_Started

Satellite C660-1LD seems to be equipped with a graphics Intel HM55 HD card.
That's why I recommend the Intel page for these drivers.

  • Try to update the graphics driver for Satellite C660-1LD

    Hi all

So I'm trying to update my graphics driver on a satellite C660 1LD, and I'm going nowhere quickly.

The current driver I have is version 8.15.10.2622
Site Web from Toshiba offers the 8.15.10.2189 version which I'm inclined to believe this is an older than my current version?

I tried downloading the new version on the Intel site but it does not work either and I can't really figure out what the new version of the site. Can anyone offer advice on how to achieve this?

The trouble is that I've lived this process for more than a year to fix a bug on civilization 5. I remember that it is a bit of a headache then. The most annoying is that I don't remember the process that I had to pass by to do. DOH!

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

    Hello

In General, you should only use the drivers from Toshiba. Why? The drivers offered on the Toshiba support page are tested and adapted to work with the s portable equipment. Of course, you can use the GPU manufacturers support page drivers, but you should know that most recent drivers will increase performance GPU. More performance means more heat and also some risk for material.

Result can be suddenly stopped downs or even damage the hardware.
In any case, I hope that you are satisfied with the performance of the GPU with your latest driver so I don't understand why you want to update the current version. Be happy that everything works well with this version of driver is not supported.

In any case, I m you know that everything you do is at your own risk you can do with your computer laptop all you want. I found an interesting article that can help you.
Check it out please - http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-033915.htm

    Good luck

  • Satellite C660-1LD - I want to add 4 GB of RAM

    Hello!

    My model is Satellite C660-1LD.
I want to add 4 GB of RAM to my laptop.

There are now 4 GB RAM DDR3 *(1066MHZ) * on my laptop.
I can add, or is it better to add 4 GB RAM DDR3 to the second slot with *(1333MHZ) *?

And how often my computer will work? (1066 mhz or 1333 mhz).
As better RAM to add (brand, frequency) you think?

Also the RAM I found is not buffered, does that mean?

    Thank you!

    > Can I add, or is it better to add 4 GB RAM DDR3 to the second slot with *(1333MHZ) *?
    It depends on your chipset.
If your chipset supports 1333 Mhz RAM then works with maximum performance, otherwise it would be clocked up to 1066 Mhz.

  • Satellite C660-1LD is super slow

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with my Toshiba Satellite C660 - 1LD PSC0QE

    Let me share the problem.

So I have to use without the battery, most of the time when sudden power failure happens my laptop turns off also. Then I have problems starting upwards just on the black screen. I tried to change the memory in different locations, a disk check HARD and troubleshooting. The last thing I did was to reformat the HARD drive and tried to reinstall windows. Here are my observations:

-My SATA in the bios configuration is DCIS, so windows tells me that it cannot detect any partition bootable windows installation is not possible to any partition of my HARD drive, but if I move the SATA configuration BIOS compatibility and windows continues to be installed on any partition that I want.

I thought all right but, when windows are complete its installation suddenly an error pops up

Now I don't know what to do. It's so frustrating. Then I accidentally inserted the recovery media and the laptop start booting from the disk and install windows and restore it to the factory with its bundled software setting.

Now, here's the problem. It's so slow. Even the andbootup of starting Windows isso slow it would take 30 minutes just to start. the mouse cursor reacts accordingly except when you open a program or by clicking on the right button takes 10 minutes. Everything is so slow. Now I don't really know what to do.

Now I am trying to reinstall all drivers and utilities with the latest versions. But I do not get a positive response. Is it a hardware failure? Is it because the SATA setting in bios was put on compatibility, although the default is ACHI?

I still have to reformat? Help please.

My advice to you is to use the recovery image only. By default the BIOS settings and install the OS by using recovery media. Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, so you'll have perfect configuration OS.
What you need is small optimization of BONE.

Take some time and read http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=134947
It's old NET, but the principle is the same on the new machines too. As a small test remove application preinstalled antivirus and check if startup is faster.
