Satellite C660 - suddenly lost sound

Sound worked perfectly last night... on this morning and nothing. I checked in the Device Manager, does not show is not a problem. Ran A convenience store - no display probs. Updated drivers. Uninstalled and reinstalled sound and still nothing :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • MacPro 2009 suddenly lost sound and the start-up time is more than a minute

Hi just a couple of days my MacPro in early 2009 has started to take well over a minute to start when she used to take less than 30 seconds.

Around the same time, I lost the sound of my Analog Audio Line out port.  (Don't know if there is any connection.)

I can still use my head set for its ok when plugged into a USB port.

When I go to the sound pane there is no visible line output port.  I have a Boise radio connected to the line port, having the sound transmitted by the intermediary for the auxiliary voltage on the radio.  It has been working well for many years.

I tried to plug into a spare set of powered speakers, the choice of output Line Out appeared in the pane sound but still cannot get any sound from the speakers when I chose it.

The loss of the noise is a nuisance, but I can still use my head set.

It is the slow-start up that bothers me, although once it has finally started the computer works very well and reacts quickly.

Something has changed dramatically, and I feel that something happens and it doesn't bode well for me.

Hope someone can give me some good news and a difficulty.

    Thank you

Try to open disk utility and repair the drive.

  • Satellite C660-155 - no sound with headphones, fair speakers

Sound still come from the speakers when the headset is connected. I've been through all the settings in the sound Manager and cannot find that anything related to the headphone jack.

I've seen quite a few similar questions in regard to other laptops Toshiba, but none of the C660.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Doris,.

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba or your own installation of Windows?

Normally if you plug in headphones a window should appear and ask you for headphones or line out output. You see this window?

If this isn't the case, I recommend reinstalling the audio driver. You can download the latest version of Toshiba's official website:

I lost the use of the function (FN) key.
Have recently updated the BIOS with the latest version about 2 weeks ago, I did notice something wrong, until I tried to deactivate wireless last week.

Does anyone know what has caused this?

    Hello

Have you noticed any problems with all FN keys or only with the special combination FN + F8, which turns on and the WiFi network?

  • Satellite M70 - suddenly no sound

    Hello!

My son was watching a movie on my Satellite M70 the other night and just in the middle of it the stopped sound... second. He didn't touch anything (I was in the room with him when it happened) and there is no new parameters. So, I've updated all the audio drivers and crossed with all kinds of checkers 'hardware' (including my own common sense) and were not able to resume his.

The computer is basically a company and there is an incredible amount of information about this. This means that I really don't want to make a full recovery. I surfed a bit and seen that others have the same basic problems. They're told to reinstall the drivers and try to downgrade and upgrade and 1 million other things that should work. I mention this because I have done all this. I'm at the point where I'm going to have to or consider in a store (guarantee is already done...) or simply live without sound (data backup is possible... just hard right now).

What I was wondering if there is a comprehensive solution to this problem? It is the first time that I come to the forum and I am surprised that this problem is not mentioned. Do you have a solution for this? Can I do something to get it back? Since we don't have television, movies are the only 'entertainment media' that my children receive and silent movies were not what I had in mind ^ ^

    General solution?
I doubt that you could do try this one solution.

First, you must connect the helmet to check if the sound seems to use the headset.
If you could hear something using the headset then it would mean that there is something wrong with s for laptop speakers.

In addition, go into Device Manager and remove the sound card in the list of devices.
Then restart the laptop and check again.
If it does not help then I would recommend creating a backup of your announcement of important files to recover the entire system.
The sound still not appear then if say there is a problem of serious material, perhaps the sound card could be affected.

  • Satellite C660-117 - crackling sound at startup

    Hello

I recently started having problems with the sound on my laptop which is 5 months old.

It emits a crackling sound at startup and also during video playback, it sometimes looks like interference and is more sensitive to the higher sounds.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers and devices audio, but in vain.

The sound is the same when read by aswell TV or a helmet.

Is this sounds like a trip to the store where I bought it is necessary that its still under warranty?

    Hey Buddy,

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or you have installed your own version?

Generally speaking everything you tried is correct, and the only option you have is to find your computer laptop initial configuration using Toshiba recovery disc. The drive will restore the original settings of the box with all the drivers and tools in order to have the same settings as you bought the laptop.

If this still doesn t work you should contact an authorized service provider because it looks like a hardware malfunction, but it s covered by warranty ;)

  • Satellite C650D suddenly no sound

There is no sound coming from my speakers - no sound of boot or anything.

They sometimes work and sometimes not (more often the latter these days).
The 'secret' is not (FN + ESC), verified that the speakers are on, verified that everything - the BIOS update, re-installed the driver and still NOTHING!

The sound from the headphones if I plug them in.

    It makes me crackers.

    Any ideas please?

    > The sound from the headphones if I plug them in.

This means that it s not a driver problems. The sound card works correctly because the noise is coming from the headset (if connected).

This means that your speakers are defective it would be also possible because you said that the sound was sometimes available and sometimes wasn't noticeable

  • SA50-532: lost sound in speakers, but work with headphones

    Hello support forum,

I suddenly lost sound through the speakers. I checked the audio drivers, audio and all controls. He looked at the work, I could not hear the sound, but when I plugged in the headphones, to my surprise, I could hear the sound.

Please suggest me, what could be the problem behind all this. It is a hardware problem or software problem and how to get out of it.

Thanks for your help in advance,
    Kind regards
    Kiran

    Hello Kiran

Not easy to say but I think that there is a hardware problem. All parameters of the volume control affect the speakers and headphones. If the headset works perfectly, I guess there is a problem with the speakers.

Your device is not old and warranty should still be valid. Contact the customer Service of your country partner and let check the device.

  • Lost icon volume - Satellite C660 running Windows 7

I was wondering if someone could help me with a little annoying problem...

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 running Windows 7, since working I could use the function button to turn the sound off, I lost the icon for the volume control on the taskbar... it's one of the things that I use a lot, so I want to recover!

I checked for other people with the same problem and there is a little, but most seem to be able to remedy this by going into the properties of the taskbar and by turning the volume on. The drop-down list is gray for me and will not work :( I can't restore the default behaviors and on the notification icons page it says she is silent, but "Show icon and notifications" is selected.

    I hope someone can help!
    Thanks for reading :)

    Hello

The sound volume icon belongs to its driver.
Recommend reinstalling the audio driver to address this issue.

  • Satellite C660 deploys continually tapping/knocking sound

I recently bought a Satellite C660 and after that I turned it on, there is this continual sound plays. This is a second gap between each beat and it's really annoying. There seems not to be problems with all programs, diagnoses were clear showing no abnormalities.
I've only had this top tour 4 weeks, I should send it to Toshiba for study?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey,.

This sound is perhaps just a Windows navigation sound you hear this noise if you cut the spakers too?

If so, I would try to turn off all Windows sounds in the control panel.

  • Lost use of the fn on my satellite C660 - 10H

I think I exaggerated my storage and deleted a program/driver too. As a result, I lost the use of the FN key. Can someone tell me what (s) I need to re - install? My laptop is a Satellite C660 - 10H.

    Hello

the FN keys require value added Package and Flash Cards Support utility. These two tools can be downloaded from the official website of Toshiba:http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > support & downloads > download DriversInstall value-added package in first, then the Flash Cards Support utility.
After the installation of these two tools the FN keys will work as usual.

Please, an update on the progress made.

  • Satellite x 200 SLi: I lost sound after Vista SP1 installation

    Hello
    I have a Toshiba Satellite x 200 SLi

After I installed the SP1 of Vista, I just lost sound and even update the audio drivers... I still have several problems such as: sometimes the sound stops, errors, try to display movies... etc...

Vista tells me that I have Norman for update my drivers but I already have the last avaiable driver on TOSHIBA page.

    Anyone with the same problem?
No idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

The problem is that Microsoft's Vista SP1 makes trouble. The problem is that not all drivers are compatible and fully supported by SP1.

I think you have a Realtek audio chip. Perhaps have you check the site Web of Realtek s the latest HD audio driver

If this doesn't help, then you will have to wait until the new update is available (or you will remove him SP1)

    Thanks for you support!

    > Toshiba Hello, how are you?

LOL :), it seems to be a forum for a user to buddy don t think you meet someone from Toshiba here.

    > I need Xp for the use of old softwarer for medical activity. (not compatible with Vista or Win7)
Didn t you know that you can install the incompatible software in compatibility mode for Win XP?

    Here's a nice Microsoft documentation:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

PS: You must first install for Win XP SP3 before installing the audio driver.
The display driver is Intel. So there were also on the page of Intel graphics driver.
But Toshiba driver European page contains two drivers too.

  • I lost the Internet connection on my Satellite C660-1F1

    Hi to you all

My problem is until last week I had installed on my Satellite C660-1F1 internet.
Now I ve lost connectivity, I can t enable wireless by FN + F8.

It s saying not available on my device connection. Could someone give help, please?

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I guess that there must be a mistake.

At first be sure that your router is working properly and the WIFI is enabled it.

Check it please as next step WLAN on your laptop satellite. Open the Device Manager and check if the WLAN card is installed and registered properly. Next step is to activate the card wireless network on your computer.

If your laptop is the WLAN light remember that power is on. If everything is OK check if your WLAN is visible for your laptop.

Please check it and send comments.
