Satellite C660 - Touchpad pointing out everything on what it will

I have a problem with my C660 satellite with the Synaptics touchpad V7.2 sensitivity. The cursor keeps pointing out everything on what he will and by dragging files or programs, or open them.

He drives me crazy and restore to an earlier date does not, or not clicking on deactivate to tap into the Synaptics or returning to default properties box.

Anyone out there able to help?

Hello

Try to install the latest Synaptics driver from Synaptics driver page:
http://www.Synaptics.com/en/drivers.php

In addition, you can adjust the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse-> device-> settings button settings

Here you will find many different options that would improve the functionality of the touchpad.

  • Satellite C660 - TouchPad freeze at startup

Hi I'm new and this is my first post so please be gentle!

I have a Satellite C660 with windows 7 purchased as a refurb factory it is my 1st laptop, I have a problem after startup, and everything loaded on my desktop, it seems that if I use my TouchPad too early it freezes, he did it since I bought it, but I thought it was me being not used to a touchpad and the "bloatware" to start is the only way I can get the pointer to move if I have a finger from the top to the bottom of line scrolling to the right of the TouchPad horizontally or diagonally, it moves very slowly until I can be open and close a browser window, the file or even the startup window, then it will then act as usual and do not freeze again for my entire session If I leave it for five minutes at the start, it works fine, sometimes it will freeze also out of standby or hibernation, but not always.

OK, I thought maybe it was the necessary driver update I checked in Device Manager and it said it was working properly but that of course is when the pointer is as it should be, in the Device Manager if I pilot of the touchpad/driver/update and internet search it tells me I have the drivers updated If I choose to search for a driver on my computer/let pick me from a list of device drivers that I have the following:-

    Mouse Compatible PS/2
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

I should have all those showing? can someone with a file of similar specifications check that for me please?

strange thing is that if I go to TouchPad properties via the taskbar, and then click driver all options except the driver Details are grayed out and done, I can open two windows of TouchPad properties from the device and the task bar manager and have them on the screen at the same time.

Some things I should mention are a mouse in the usb works fine, I stopped a lot of the "bloatware" and would help the useless stuff running at startup, hoping that I have disabled the function of locking of the click on the TouchPad, sound as it needs to be "warmed up" to run correctly when running properly it works fine without problem as the laptop came pre installed and only Disc I have is the recovery one create you the initial Setup!
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello

First of all, I don t think that this problem is related to the installed touchpad driver but if you wish, you can install the latest touchpad driver available from the European driver Toshiba.

Visit the European driver Toshiba page and choose:
Computer laptop Satellite Satellite C series Satellite C660 driver Touchpad

Now you should get all the touchpad driver available for C660 series.
I found the driver for the touchpad Synaptics for Win7 32 bit and 64 bit.
The latest version seems to be v15.2.11.1

I think you should go to Panel of-> Software
Check here if Synaptics touchpad driver appear in the list of installed software.
    If so, uninstall the present.
Then, download and install the Synaptics v15.2.11.1 driver

The touchpad settings could be changed in Control Panel-> mouse-> tab advanced-> button Advanced.

  • Satellite C660 - touchpad problems

    Hello

I have problems with the touchpad on my Satellite C660. I have only had it for about 2 & 1/2 months, and the problem seems to be worse.

I tried to check for drivers, changing the settings of the touchpad, but nothing helped.
The main problem is that when you move your finger on the pad, the cursor will not move, however it also scrolls the page more or less important size.

I'm quite frustrated because it is essentially a new machine.

Everyone has ideas, or should I try to get replaced by a new one.

    Thank you

    James

Looks like you're triggering gestures. For example, if you press the right side of the touchpad, it will allow the scroll bar.

You can disable these features in the advanced Touchpad settings.

  • Satellite C660 - Synaptics pointing device does not work

    I use a Satellite C660 32-bit laptop.
After that uninstall and removal of a large number of unnecessary programs to free up space I found that disc my touchpad not working more.

It won't scroll up and down, left and right more.
So I don't know if I deleted this program by mistake. Can't do a system restore either because that which is also eliminated.

    Help, please...

I assume that you have not disabled the device or damaged Windows installation - the mouse is as fundamental as the keyboard and would need some removal of smart to 'delete '.

Have you checked the State of the key in the Device Manager?
You have a small button near the touch pad that turns off?
If missing just the driver, then, you have 3 options

    1. click on 'My product to support' near the top of this page and follow / complete the pages to find the Toshiba touch pad driver

    2. access the synaptec site and download the driver

3 go to Uscrybe.com, a synaptic site and download the driver - more features than 1 or 2

  • Software Webcam on Satellite C660 - 1 M 2

The webcam works correctly when you use Skype etc. But I have no access to it from Windows, so I can not change options, or take a photo without using Skype.

On the first day all worked them very well, and now after a few months I can not even find an application (do not remember exactly the name, but pretty sure I tried everything and google any possibility). No, I'm not stupid - I did not remove the shortcut from the descopt.
Windows cannot find any application, or there is no option in the Windows Control Panel (just an adnotation in Device Manager saying that I have a Chicony USB2.0 camera, it works, and there are some original installed installed drivers, I have not changed anything.)
I tried reinstalling the drivers, no change at all (as it was easy to foreshadow).

Then I googled some of the C series Toshiba laptops have a Camera Assistant Software, which I didn't think to install the first day (Yes, I bought "in white" laptop and installed Windows and the drivers manually). I thought that might be what I'm looking for, maybe I just deleted it accidentally.
Too does not work, when I try to run it it says that the camera is turned off (it is active) or does not properly (oh, rly?).
Maybe it's because the version of the software is not good for my model (which cannot get technical support, there no model like mine to choose in the list. It of funny, isn't it?).

    Thanks for any help.

What you need is Web camera application and it can be downloaded from the Toshiba download page.

Please visit http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and select your laptop model and the OS. Your laptop is Satellite C660 with PSCJ1E part number.

You will find the driver for the Webcam. Install it and try to use preinstalled software. Before you start we sure Skype is turned off.

    It works for you?

  • How to increase the video memory dedicated Satellite C660?

I want to increase the video memory dedicated 64 MB to 700 MB for the model Satellite C660

I do not know what model you have exactly and can't see the exact specification for laptop, but usually with more RAM more than memory will be used for graphical operations.

I thought that there was a temporary error, but it's been 3 months and it has still not repaired.

Have you tested with WLAN and LAN connection?
Have you noticed the same problem using two connections?

  • Satellite C660: How to turn off the zoom of the touchpad on/off function

My Satellite C660 zooms pages Web etc. in & on the touchpad mouse.
I tried to get used to but its been a year & I had to buy a wireless mouse that I can get along with it.

Can I turn off this feature so the Mouse touchpad don't zoom in & out everything more & just did normal move the pointer of the mouse & tap to click functions?

    Hello

I think you are talking about the pinch to zoom.
    Yes, this can be disabled.
Go to control panel-> mouse-> device settings (I think its last tab, it could be called Advanced too)
Here click the Advanced Settings button
Here, you should see all the available options. I guess that option should be available here.

This problem happens using the touchpad only or have you noticed the freezing of cursor using the external USB mouse too?

What is the notebooks touchpad works properly without loading and using this 3rd party software?
For example, work the touchpad with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, etc.) or navigation in internet by using IE or Chrome?

My guess is that the pre-installed 3rd application part could affect the functionality of the touchpad.

  • Should what battery I buy for Satellite C660?

I find a lot of batteries online, but my main concern is that. My laptop is Satellite C660 - 1 M 0 (ps1ge-02901fgs).

I find that the batteries that claim is for c660 but they reffer to as (PA3634U-1BAS), some reffer to as c660d and some reffer to as c660 (PA3634U-1BRS). I am comfused, a bit is not compatible?

    Thank you

When you remove the original battery, you can see which part number there. In my opinion the best thing is to order the same model of battery. By using this part number, you can try to find an online store where you can order.

On the market, you can find several batteries offered by some manufacturers of third party (without the Toshiba label thereon). These batteries are cheaper than original batteries by Toshiba. They might be good, but usually, they died very quickly.
Last year, I ordered this battery for my old A300. The battery was OK, but I couldn't get it up properly. Battery was in place, but at the back, there was a sort of pressure and plastic was out of shape. In any case, it's your decision what to do.

Compatible batteries for your portable Satellite have following reference numbers:
    PA3757U-1BRS
    PA3787U-1BRS
    PA3817U-1BRS
    PA3818U-1BRS
    PA3820U-1BRS

    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite C660-1LD - Touchpad no longer works

    Hello

I'm having this problem because more than a month now, the touchpad works all of a sudden and it starts to work after a reboot, and sometimes after a few reboots.

The frequency of this issue is at least twice an hour. I'm really tired to restart all the time.
I tried the system restore, but that did not help and the function keys do not work or the other.

    Details:
    Model: SATELLITE C660-1LD
    OS: Windows 7-64 bit
    : Warranty 03/2013

    > I tried the system restore, but that did not help

What exactly do you mean by restoring the system?

Have you used the Toshiba Recovery DVD or Toshiba HDD Recovery procedure to restore the laptop to factory settings?
In the case where you don't who has not tried, I recommend doing that!

The fact is that this recovery procedure should solve the problems of system/software and in my opinion, it looks more like a software like a hardware problem.

  • Satellite C660 - no access Internet - yellow exclamation point appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite c660 and there serious internet problems.
When I turn it on, it says that I don't have access to the internet but when I try to use it, a yellow exclamation point will appear then down down on the wifi icon.

If I click on the internet icon and it says im connected to the internet, but I have no internet access.
I'm really confused as to what to do. Internet days might work for a while and then all of a sudden the exclamation point appears there and I can't get working again.

If anyone has any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix Tournay would be GREAT. as for now I can't use the internet wireless on my laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think there could be a problem with your WLan router.
I recommend to reset the router and try again

If this is not enough, clear all settings of encryption like encryption, password encryption, mac address filtering, etc. and try to connect again to open WLan.
But this just for testing purposes

If the connection would be functions, you must configure the router once more.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - keyboard and touchpad are not working

    Satellite C660 - 28H

    Win7 64 bit

Kaskpersky antivirus deleted the file 'system32/driver/cekbfilter.sys' for reason of keylogger (Kaspersky Support says error of file anti-virus, Kaspersky is not virus or virused), and after I restarted OS I find keyboard and touchpad not working do not at all.

Also I already asked to [US Toshiba Forum | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Keyboards-Touchpads/satellite-c660-cekbfilter-sys-deleted-and-no-keyboard/td-p/364673] and he has been Advisor to ask here also

I can't use Windows recovery (have no recovery point) and I don't want full recovery of factory default - there are many flexible and personal data stored.

So here how to get the drivers? As I have already said to US Toshiba Forum - I already tried to delete the driver of pad touch and installation of synaptic official site and I haven't changed anything.

I also think that antivirus can remove not only the file, but some patches to remove the pilot "wrone.

Eh, it's very stupid situation now. I never had such problems, but it will be interesting to find solution to this.

Have you tried to connect a mouse outside, just to see if this can work? I want to say that it is much easier to use Windows with the mouse and choose different options.

If it works, try to open the Device Manager and properties for the keyboard. You will find the option to update the driver. Check if you can find some update driver. The keyboard uses the standard Microsoft so f driver, you may be in line that some drivers are.

Of course the best solution and easiest for you is recovery facility. If you don t want to do this try to find right drivers using this driver update option.

One last thing: If you have a lot if important saved on the HARD disk you can remove your laptop and plug it into the other PC / laptop as external device and make a backup. After doing this you can install the recovery image and the problem is solved.

  • Satellite C660 - what is VEN_8086 & DEV_3B56?

    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_3B56 & SUBSYS_FD3C1179 & REV_05\3 & 115 83659 & 0 & D8

    What is it?

    Hey,.

Vendor 8086 code means that it s Intel hardware but 3B 56 device ID is not known to me, I've looked here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

It probably has something to do with Intel chipset or display driver

  • Satellite C660-1CN - touchpad do not start with Windows

    Hello
    I have problem with Toshiba Satellite C660 - 1CN PSC0QE.

Touchpad do not start with Windows 7 Home Premium.
All the drivers are up to date.
    BIOS - lastest.

After logon, I need to click on * double * "FN + F9" and after it is OK until the next reboot.

    I tried:
several drivers of Synaptics - no change.
    Reinstall Windows - no change.
Mini Windows XP Hiren - no work.
    Default BIOS - no change

After that I installed 'toshiba value added package' I can't turn on the touch pad at all.

To be honest, I never heard the show. According to specification for laptop, your laptop came with Win7 home premium 64-bit. With factory settings touchpad should be activated after the OS has started.
I can read you have reinstalled Windows. Have you reinstalled with the original recovery image and tested with factory settings?
