Satellite C665 - noise adaptor

Hello

I bought this Toshiba Satellite C665 JB HiFi Australia about 2-3 weeks ago. Today, I suddenly heard some strange noise from the adapter. I don't really know how to describe the sound, but I did registered using my cell phone.

The noise lasted about 30 minutes. Now it stopped, but I'm a little worried - if it is safe to use this adapter or not.
Is it quite normal for Toshiba adapters?

Should I take to Toshiba and ask someone to check? You guys will be charge me a service charge for this?
And I don't know who I should contact in ANZ.
PS. I can download it check if necessary, the mp4 file is roughly 132 K.

Thank you
Soph

Hello Soph

Unfortunately I can't give you a few precious answer but I never heard noises on my cards.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

In the worst case, they can order the new AC adapter and replace it.

  • No sound from speakers on the Satellite C665 running Windows 7

    Hello

Today, I was running my Toshiba Satellite C665 (Windows 7 OS). I left my computer when I needed to get away there for an hour, and when I got home, my screen was showing the 'blue screen of death '. I restarted my laptop, to see that no sound would come out of my speakers.

I can still get sound with headphones. I have restarted my computer 3 times and tried to set up my speakers through Control Panel. My computer is not on mute and is not my Media Player.

    Thanks for your help!

This problem with BSOD is quite strange.

Click with the right button of the mouse on the symbol of the speakers in the taskbar and open devices reading option.
    Pregnant option is listed here?

Click with the right button of the mouse over it and make sure that it is set as the default device.

    Any change?

  • "Load driver" error when installing Win7 on Satellite C665

My hard drive in my laptop died on me, so I'm a new hard drive (Solid State) and installed Windows 7 top on my Toshiba (Satellite C665 model PSC55A)

I don't seem to be the only ones to encounter this error: "A required CD/DVD drive driver is missing. If you have a flash drive driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB, please insert it now. "However, everyone seems to get for different reasons and I have tried several things.

The first manifests itself: use the disk I got with the laptop. I moved homes since I bought the laptop. Looked through all the boxes in the House and and I think it can be lost in oblivion.
The next most obvious: load the drivers of Toshiba support. Tried that. Does not work. Don't know why, but I downloaded the drivers from Toshiba, extract them, put them on a USB key. Seen in "Install Windows" in a list of all the drivers. I try to install each one, it passes through all. The end of it still does not work.
Next: download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool. I read that this would work, so I tried it, and it didn't.
I also read BIOS, 'Disable AHCI mode for your drive in the BIOS OF THE system controller', I'm not the greatest, so I can't have gotten this right step, but the only time where I found the AHCI in the BIOS I couldn't change to IDE or ATA as suggested, I could just change it to "compatibility".

Thank you for your help, I hope I don't sound too desperate.

    > I found AHCI in the BIOS, I couldn't change it to IDE or ATA as was suggested, I could just change it to "compatibility".

It's a good... you can switch the SATA AHCI mode or in compatibility mode.
In AHCI mode laptop requires the SATA driver to see the SSD or HARD disk drive. In compatible mode HDD/SSD drive should be visible during installation of the system, but the HDD/SSD drive would operate in IDE mode means the player HDD/SSD would be slower.

But if I understand the detachment, ve you had problems with CD/DVD player. Is this correct?

It was really strange because installing Windows doesn t need drivers ODD (optical disc) the configuration of the installation contains common CD/DVD player that controls the disk drive.

I read in other forums that this problem could be related to faulty Windows installation disc. It would be interesting to know if you can use another drive to install the system

I also found this MS knowledge base article:
["Required the reader driver CD/DVD is missing" or "needs a driver your computer media is missing" appears when you install Windows | http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2755139]

    The reasons can be:
The installation DVD is removed during the installation process.
A bad quality DVD has been used to create the installation DVD.
The speed at which the installation DVD is burnt was too fast.
The DVD drive cannot read media.
    The ISO file is corrupted.

  • Satellite C665-p5010 - no sound

I have Toshiba Satellite c665-p5010, after installing the Audio driver, I can't hear the sound...

The Audio driver is not installed correctly... .and I can't uninstall the Realtek Audio driver which is installed...

Can you please tell me the right Audio driver for my laptop... I had installed Xp SP2 on my laptop.

    Hello

    > Audio driver is not installed properly... .and I can't uninstall the Realtek Audio driver which is installed...

What card his cell phone does support?
Check in the Device Manager in audio, video, and game controllers

    Is there a yellow exclamation?
Did you check if the sound is not muted?

I googled a bit, an it seems that the laptop belongs to the Asian series of Toshiba.
    I found the drivers here:
    http://www.Toshiba-India.com/laptop/DriversDetails.aspx?product=notebook%20Computer&se ries = Satellite & model = C665 & cat = Sound & os = 0

It seems that various models support different sound chips so its important to know what sound chip this laptop supports.

Moreover if just the audio driver has been installed, then the Device Manager may not contain no yellow exclamation or unknown devices.

By the way: you can uninstall the audio driver in Device Manager

  • Satellite C665 is damaged, will not start

My internet and satellite C665 has been corrupted after download. The hard drive is ok because it works in my other Toshiba Satellite. The other Toshiba satellite hard drive now works an ok. But when I put the original back hard drive, he goes to the Toshiba page and you got to the bios.

I found out, after having tried everything, that I change the Advanced Start affecting fast it starts the next time. But after that, I have to go into the bios every time and change it back to normal changes, this return to fast and save and exit. Sometimes, it connects directly or to turn it off and it starts when I turn it on again. Very annoying.
Also, it will start up fine if I do a restart or hibernation. Although this morning he gave me a shock because doing nothing for a while when I left it on hibernate during the night.

Impossible to Flash the bios because it doesn't allow me to update and says that he does not update because I have the same version.
does not start on USB or DVD.

    I'm going crazy!

Stand by. More important is to make data backup. I hope that you copied all important data and make backup.

Now, when the data is backed up put disk HARD starts back, your laptop, enter the BIOS and set it to default settings. After this verification, if the HDD is recognized correctly.
To be honest I don't know what the problem is there but, in my view, the next step should be to test with factory settings so please use the recovery disk, if you have one and reinstall Windows recovery image and test mobile with its own OS preinstalled.

  • Satellite P500 - noise varies and is too quiet

    Hello again,

I had some problems with speakers this time.
Since there are Harmon/Kardon speakers installed in the computer, the sound itself is fine.
    However, it is not.

Sound is too quiet, even if I listen to music on the max volume.
As well, I noticed the sound fluctuates all the time and there are crackling noises.
All audio drivers are up to date, but they did not help.

Could you please tell, what's the problem? Thank you!

Perhaps what is its volume in the drive that you use low upgraded? Select this check box.

Friend of mine has bought Satellite P500 last month. We have installed OS, created recovery discs and tested sound using Skype, Winamp, Windows Media Player and watch blu - ray discs.
With the sound, everything seems to be OK.

  • Satellite A665 - noise CPU?

    Hello

Since the end of February, I have a new Satelitte A665 13V. Years before I owned a satellite A200 and I liked it. Also it Hat a very noisy fan and so on, but it was OK. With my A665, I have a big problem: there is a very high frequency to the left under the keyboard noise. It is the CPU fan?
It drives me crazy during labour for more than a half hour with my laptop and I need it to work!

What can I do against this noise? I have Windows 7 and 1.9 BIOS updated.

    Hi Little_Alfred,

Normally, no piece of hardware expect the CPU drive HARD because of the noise but it of difficult to tell which part is the cause. We can only speculate on this behavior, but not hear it it of not possible to say if it s normal or not.

You should get in touch with an authorized service provider. Your laptop is a month old, so if this would be a hardware malfunction guys can fix it under warranty. It is free for you.

Guys can give you an official response on this behavior if it of normal or not.

  • Satellite U300 - noise problems

Just got a U300. Beautiful machine, but it's impossible to use in a silent room:

    (1) CPU fan turns on and off all the time; It is calibrated to vary with the temperature of the CPU in a really annoying way: nothing in to 51 degrees, then half speed up to 53 or two, then full blast. Thus, on how high-performance fan continues to go and turn off all few seconds if you do a normal work. So far, the only solution I found is to create a power mode that sets the State of the max processor at 8% and a minimal State to 0%, while the CPU always gets strangled if temperature rises and does never really hot. Of course, this is not satisfactory.

    (2) the hard drive making noises clicking constant (no noise search). I had this before with another laptop, and it's because of the head of parking (car parks the head immediately when it is idle, to save energy). With the other laptop, it was possible to change a setting in the bios for hard drive, disable this special energy saving feature. I was not able to do this with the U300.

Someone has a solution or does anyone know how to communicate with the engineers from toshiba? Problem 1 is easily fixed with an upgrade of the bios setting fan behavior, problem 2 with an update of the bios hard drive, so it shouldn't take much effort I suppose.

Thank you very much in advance for any help / comments etc!

    Hello Skymaster

Satellite U300 is known to me because we have this laptop in our office. It is really nice for laptop and can be taken anywhere. What about these two problems described in your ad?

Cooling fan is perhaps often turned on but, in my view, it is acceptable. Maybe I see it a little different because we use them in our office and it's not so quiet. In any case, I use two laptops from Toshiba for the moment. One with Windows XP Home edition and Vista. I got two of them to work pretty quiet using level lowest for cooling and method using balanced in Vista power management and reducing CPU utilization. On two laptops I na? poor performance of notice and I don't understand why this is not good for you. Of course, I don't know what you're doing with your laptop, but I use it for Office application and I am satisfied.

On HARD drive, I can't write a lot because we na? t notice some serious problem. I don't think the BIOS update can change anything.

I don't understand why you want to communicate with the engineers. They can say, this is just to thank you for your report. I don't see any sense with it. What you need to do is to contact the nearest authorized service provider. Talk with them, explain the situation. They have Toshibaa? diagnostic tools and let s check the HARD drive or motherboard even.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite C50D - noise cracaling

    Hi all

My C50D Satellite began to make a cracking sound at startup on the right side. the warranty will expire unsure as to if I should send it back. Actually, there was very little use because I could not with windows 8.1 after all, it was made for a phone not a laptop

On this path virtual, it is not easy to say what may be wrong here, but this noise could be produced by the HARD drive. If the warranty is still valid contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Maybe the HARD drive needs to be replaced.

  • Can I use another laptop with Satellite L550-129 adaptor?

    Hello

    My Satellite L550-129 card is broken. (dc 19 V ~4.7 (A).

    Can I use an adapter of a mini laptop Toshiba NB500-135? (dc 19 V ~ 1.58 A)

It is therefore the same Volt but a lower amp, can I damage something?

    Greetings,

    Bart

    Hello

Volt value must be the same! It is very important to avoid than anything.
In your case, the same value of Volt AC to other support adapter, so you won't damage anything other THAN the value of the intensity is very low and I guess that the adapter does not provide enough power for L550 notebook. For example: recharge the battery would take much more time.

However, I think you could check it simply as mentioned; you won't damage anything.

  • Satellite C665 - unsigned drivers Win 7?

Have a c665 (Win 7 64-bit) that does not recognize the WLAN drivers or graphics, saying the signatures cannot be verified.

They WILL work if I select "Disable driver signature enforcement" in the F8 (start) menu.
they do not work if I disable permanently the application signature.

I even did a full reset, and the problem is still there.

    Someone else encountered this?
Download the drivers from the site Toshiba isn't help, get the same result.

I am not owner of this laptop model but I did also read about similar problems, running on other drivers of Toshiba laptops.

But the fact is that the drivers that are installed / packed in Toshiba image are tested and should work correctly.
Also the page of the Toshiba UE driver drivers should work without serious problems.

I'm not sure that the drivers, but Microsoft provides the good explanation how to install Packages of Non-WHQL-class pilots
    https://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/lib... (v = vs. 85) .aspx

On the other hand, the driver packages that are digitally signed by WHQL, may be distributed by the Windows Update program. So, you will get the updates during Windows updates.
But is generally not all drivers are signed by MS and I guess it's a case here...

    > I not encountered this problem on head phone and never touched the sound card drivers

To me, it looks like a speaker (one or both) would start failures
If the crackling noise is not using headphones while this question must relate to speakers

Also the fact that this question no did not appear in the past would mean that it could be a problem of speaker

Maybe you should contact the ASP in your country in order to agree on a verification of the material (speaker) and replacement.
