  This is not a defect, Toshiba image that sits on the recovery disc for an old series laptop is based on Win 98 again Win XP is on the disc! So don t worry it s Win XP!

  I m not very well why you can not recover the laptop, but there are two options; HARD drive failure is so the laptop has been slower or the recovery disk is faulty (maybe a few scratches, etc.)

  In case you, it would be desirable to test the laptop with other bootable disks (MS Win XP or Linux) to check if the HARD drive is ok

  does anyone have a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of RAM installed? I'm one of these laptops for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software. Toshiba says that it only supports 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) of RAM but Intel says techdocs this Notebpook (i855GM) chipset will support 2 GB RAM Max.

  The other question is, is the CPUupgradeable? The laptop has more no guarantee and I am an experienced user and I see no problem to install a new processor in a laptop.

  standard: 256 MB
  maximum extension: 1 024 MB
  technology: DDR RAM

  So, I don't think that it can support up to 2 Gb

  I L10 - 117 with celeron M 370, my fan works for about 2 minutes and stop after only 2-5 minutes, it starts again at full speed. It only works at full speed (made a lot of noise) or stop, I noticed that my friends toshiba satellite fan (also celeronM) works at different speeds, such as laptops with centrino.

  There have not been any changes to the fonts used (or available for use) in Messages.

  However, it is possible to turn on more options.

  In system preferences > accessibility > display

  Here select the option 'reduce transparency.

  This allows to be accessible in other fonts Messages > Preferences > general Section.

  If it isn't AND the blade of font size can be used but makes no difference (especially if you leave the app and it does not keep) then you will have lost write permissions for the .plist which controls it.

  You available RAM is 256 MB, and that the BIOS reserves a small portion for the graphics card. The normal distribution is 64 MB for that you will 192Mo of left RAM for use by the operating system. 64 MB is quite normal for the use of graphics (and is small enough to some modern games). You may be able to reduce the amount (say, at 32 MB) in your BIOS (check allocation UMA).

  Slow loading may indicate that your HARD drive is a grooming needs. I recommend running Disk Cleanup on your Start menu, followed by Disk Defragmenter also in the menu START. This will ensure that you schedule the files and folders are properly located and organized for use.

  Increasing your RAM probably will not help your slow loading problem, although it will improve the performance of games and utilities of great resources by reducing the use of the swap file.

  Unfortunately, it is unclear to me. Where did you find!

  But you might check some short key like FN + F2 or to disable and enable the FN + F9 touchpad

  You must go to an ASP and request a quote for an original Toshiba fan. The fan is not a common design, so it would be difficult to find a compatible generic.
