Satellite L30 - 11 d is not completely turned off

As the title says, when I select 'Shut Down' in the start menu under Vista, the system says it stops, but w/lan stays on and if you press the eject button, the dvd opens.
Also the battery will drain overnight, so it's obviously not turn off completely.

Any ideas anyone?

Hello

Chose the option of closure or sleep?
Please note that the default option is set in the standby mode. This might be the reason why the laptop didn't t stop correctly.

Check again!

You have the apparent corruption of dbx files, but an easy solution.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  • ENVY 15-k008ne Notebook PC: my laptop does not completely turn off

    Hello

When I have shutdown/Hibernate / standby my laptop, it will turn off completely.

All programs will be closed (when stop or restart) and I think that OS will also close. But the laptop will not turn off. Power LIGHT and fan will stay on.

And when I try to Hibernate, everything is ok, but I have the same problem.

Whenever I have to turn it off by holding the power button, otherwise the battery will be discharged.

After manual turn off, when I turn it on again, everything works correctly:

-If hibernation: OS will continue to last situation.

-If stop: OS works normally without error or warning.

After sleep, OS works from the beginning. Because the data stored in RAM and will be deleted after power off.

Perhaps a portable automatic perevent equipment turned off. All the drivers are up to date.

Is there a parameter/software to check and fix my problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close the open windows and restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download the driver directly from Intel IMEI on the following link, unzip the and run the installer.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/26127/Intel-management-engine-consumer-driver-for-Intel-nu...

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

When the machine rebooted, re - activate the quick start and restart the computer once more - let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Hello

Try disabling the startup of Windows 10 hybrid - you can do the following.

Click on the button Save the settings, and then close windows open and stop the laptop by right clicking on the icon in Start Menu, select (Admin) command prompt and click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

Type (or copy and paste) the following command (including spaces) and click Enter.

    Shutdown /s /t 0

Start the laptop and let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if it is now shut down properly in the Start Menu.

If this has fixed the problem, it may be useful by turning the quick start back on - sometimes simply remove and re-create the file will solve the problem.

  • Satellite L30: The sound does not work on XP Sp2

Hi, sorry but I cannot well English.

I have a problem. I do not have CD with drivers, but I download from the toshiba site.

Yesterday, I reinstal windows, then I install all the drivers and I have a problem with the audio drivers.
In Device Manager is all good, his system is activated, drivers of instalation, I have no problem. But sound does not work.

    You have any ideas?

    Hello

If the sound does not appear on your laptop, you must first check the volume control on the side of the laptop. Turn it up to the max level.
Then check the sound devices and audio in the control panel if any controller is disabled or turned to the lower floor.

Additional connect headphones and check if you can hear something.

By the way: have you installed the correct drivers? On the Toshiba page, you will find two different sets of portable Satellite L30

    > I was updating my BIOS on toshiba website and while he was installing the battery has been disconnected and when I turned on my computer laptop back I got was a black screen, the fans would start and thecd rom would turn

I m afraid the BIOS update has no procedure and therefore the ROM chip has not updated as it should. This is the reason why the laptop can not start correctly.

I think that it of necessary to reflash the ROM BIOS module Once again, but this can be done only using a procedure of BIOS of crisis.
As far as I know this can be done only through ASP because there is no traditional BIOS version by download.

  • Satellite Pro L650: Windows could not complete the installation on the new HARD drive

At the present time, I have a 500 GB HARD drive installed. As soon as I got it, I did a recovery on 3 DVD media.

I just tried to replace the HARD drive with a 1 to one. All copied OK and after dvd 3 that I was told to release the dvd. I did this and the computer turns off. I turned it on and it started to (don't remember the exact words used) set the drivers.

However I have now received the message that "Windows cannot complete installation" and telling me to reinstall. I did it, but after the steps above have repeated the same message appears.

    Pls help.

I don't see why my computer should be limited to a 500 GB HARD drive.

    Thank you

    Hello

The computer is NOT limited to 500 GB HARD drive
You can use more big 500 GB hard drives. You have confirmed that the laptop supports 1 TB HARD drive and the system recognizes the 1 TB HARD drive.

The problem could be the use of the recovery diskette. Why?
Because the recovery disk creates the same partitions that were available on the 500 GB HARD drive. This could create problems of system due to the large size of HARD drive.

    Solutions?
Well, I think that you could install the system by using the clean installation of Microsoft Windows disk.
Missing other drivers or tools can be downloaded from Toshiba page.

  • DVD/CD-RW COMBO in Satellite L30-114 player does not close

    Hello!

I have some problems with my carpet * a reader of DVD/CD-RW COMBO in Satellite L30-114. It will not simply close easily, I have to use a lot of strength to shut up and try several times before I do it.

These readers are as bad as I think? Also DVD playback compatibility is lack and the car slows down to MUCH what reading dvd recorded and original :/ there is no problem with CD, but with the DVD.

What should do? is it possible to fix this closure with screwdriver and 5 minutes or should I give it back to the point of repair? I ask this cause of self-repair Ive to go to 300 km to have the Service more close to authorized Toshiba (I live in Poland.

    Greetings,
    Peter.

Why this readers must be bad? Perhaps you n your car on the right t-handle way and now you have the problem. I put t know about the position for which you are a pressure when you want to close, but do it enough in the middle. On this way the pressure is evenly distributed on both sides.

If the drive must be exchanged this doesn t mean you have to go there personally. I'm sure that you can send your laptop to them as in all other countries.

Sorry, but the problem with DVD play is not understandable for me. You can watch original DVD movies or not? Maybe a little better description of the problem will help you.

  • Satellite L30 PSL33E - wifi is not working after installing XP

Satellite L30 PSL33E downgraded from Vista to XP. Everything works apart from the Wifi. Device Manager displays Atheros ar5005g card with yellow exclamation point.

I tried the driver from this site, but windows does not load the driver as it is not signed.
I try to reload the driver and the laptop freezes.

I'm probably something wrong. If advice... soon

    Hello

First you need to update the Win XP to the last State.
Very important are the SP2 and al MS patches and fixes after the release of SP2.

The European Toshiba WLan driver page provides a new Atheros WLan driver which is compatible with the Windows operating system. XP and Vista.
    Check this box:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

First remove (uninstall) installed WLan driver and then install the new driver Atheros WLan downloaded.

    See you soon

  • Satellite L30 - 11 d is not recognizing the full RAM

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L30 - 11 d, as shown in the subject. I had the laptop for a year before, I decided to move the ram to 2 GB. In 2008, I bought a RAM 1 GB DDR2 5300 AENEON chip and another microphone technology DDR2 5300 s 1 GB RAM chip.

These two circuits are compatible with my laptop. These two circuits work in the two slots of RAM and CPU - Z can confirm that there is 2 GB of memory in my laptop. However, Vista was unable to register for 2 GB, instead it sees only 896 MB of RAM. After a few months of frustration, I decided to downgrade to Windows XP Professional to see if she could remedy the situation and allow my life become a little more smooth. However, the same question is still involved.

Literally 10 minutes ago, I confirmed that these two circuits operate in the two slots of RAM and CPU - Z can confirm that there is 2 GB of Ram in my laptop. BIOS, graphics and all other drivers I can enter on the Toshiba site has been installed and it's really just leaving me completely stumped. If someone has any ideas as to what could be the problem, it would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time,

    Ash.

    It's very strange
Also the shape of most recent BIOS, from Toshiba Web site is installed did you say?

Have you tried to use two modules of the same production? I think it is the reason for this. Notepad starts with the two modules, ok, but I think that must be the reason for this. In your case I would test it with two modules of the same production.

In addition, the video RAM is shared with the RAM. Then don t forget you can use 2 GB only for main memory.

Sorry, but at the moment I can say s.

  • Satellite L30: audio sound does not work - WinXP SP2

    Hello

I just bought a new laptop (Satellite L30 PSL33E-02S01LBT). He had installed Windows Vista, but it was horribly slow.

I installed Windows XP SP2 on it's updates. I installed all the drivers from toshiba site I could find for my model.
Everything works fine except the sound. I tried to install the drivers found on the toshiba Web site, but it fails with this error:
'No pilot only is supported in the suite of drivers' (AKA FRENCH: 'no driver no is supported in this suite of drivers').

In my list of equipment I have this with a "?":
(?) Audio device on High Definition Bus Audio

I tried to install the Realtek drivers with 5.10.0.5273 version.
    Found the driver here: http://www.mbnet.fi/ajuriapaja/info.asp?AID=10015&TID=10431&OS=10
This driver has been installed successfully, but the sound still doesn't work.

So, I removed this driver and found my "Audio on Bus High Definition Audio device"...

What could I do? Is this computer model toshiba laptop has problems with XP and the sound?

    Thanks for the help...
