  My son laptop - Toshiba Satellite L300 is a failure at startup.

  He gets a BSOD.

  I tried F8 and then all of the options presented here to try to get either a command prompts in windows safe mode or orders, but it fails every time.

  So the laptop can not auto repair or allow access to the hard drive.

  It came with Vista pre-installed window so don't know how to make further progress.

  The BSOD message is one that says that I could have a virus or an I/O problem and suggest running CHKDSK /F which of course, I can't do.

  Please let know us what I can do next.

  Hi, recently Ive instaled linux ubuntu as the OS second after preinstaled vista (my laptop: Toshiba Satellite L300-13R PSLB0E-02H00SEN), but as I can't find the drivers for wifi as the topic title says. Anyone know how and where to find them?

  Name of the wifi on vista driver is Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802. 11b / g 54Mbps USB 2.0

  I have a Satellite L300. A month ago, I bought and install an upgrade to Windows 7 (I had Vista). Last night, my laptop was working fine and this morning when I opened it I got this error:

  BOOTMGR is corrupt. the system cannot start.

  I did some research and tried to boot from the recovery disc. Laptop computer the disc I get the windows is looding files screen and then a company Microsoft is displayed with a bar above it and then I get a blue screen that says:

  PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED vista

  Now what can I do to reformat my computer and reinstall if I can't load the recovery disc!

  I tried to put my DVD of Vista I have for my other PC, but I have another error black screen...

  Can someone tell me what I can do now?

  Is it because I have a recovery CD for Windows Vista and not 7?

  Okay, so I read several post here and the only thing I can't think is the hard drive... but it had already changed a few months ago by Toshiba... now my laptop is not less guarantee more with Toshiba, but I have an extended warranty with my VISA...   IM new here and my name is Jodie. My husband and I bought new computers laptop a few weeks ago, Satellite L300.

  On my husband a wireless just stopped working, the switch is on but no lights appear. I tried FN and F8 says the Wireless does not work. I checked in the device under netwrok Manager cards to see if he said the same thing as mine and the wireless adapter is missing? It's the Atheros AR5007EG wireless Netwrok adapter.

  Can anyone help? Cannot believe what has happened and they are only 2 weeks :(

  Have you tried to update the driver for wireless network? On the Toshiba WLAN portal, you can find the most recent version that should work on your laptop:

  Recovery disc creator can t be downloaded. It s only preinstalled on your laptop and included in the Toshiba recovery disc so that you could burn this disc again.

  But I m wondering are you sure you used the Toshiba Recovery disk? This disc contains normally after using this application.

  I have a L300 ve won t open upward, I tried doing auto repair, but he gets to half way through and it freezes everything. I tried the re-boot s disk but I ve had no joy.
  Now I've taken to a computer repair shop who said that the hard drive is faulty.

  If you were not able to install the OS by using the original Toshiba Recovery DVD, it is possible that the HARD drive is faulty.

  What happens if you press F8 immediately after the laptop has been power up?
  You can see the Advanced Boot Menu?

  If so, then try option called last known good configuration.

  I have a rather old L300 series which I'll put up like a computer diagnostic car dedicated. It does not attempt to start up, at all. I changed the RAM (2 GB) and hard drive (XP system) both with new components. The original, Vista hard drive, is in rude health.

  My Toshiba Satellite L300 series shot tools. I changed disk cards and hard memory, put new components in both cases. Thinking that maybe the BIOS battery, I put the machine in charge. Nothing.

  When I turn on, the led lights green power as does the charging light when it is connected, then the fan starts. It is not "beep" to indicate the beginning of the start, nor does the HDD LED light. The battery is old, but still has enough power for 30 minutes running. On battery? Similarly.

  I did the standard things here, any ideas as to what I can do? I'm talented mechnically but computers are a book closed for me.
