Satellite L300: How to restore Vista

Hello

I have a Toshiba L300-180 with Vista Home Basic. For some reason I can't access my windows. So I want to make a recovery. Wehn I turn on the computer and press F8 and choose repair only
Watch no repair options normal startup options or mode of economy at all. How is it possible and how can I recover a work entirely of windows?

Hello

The L300 supports a HARD drive recovery option.
You need to start Notepad and then press F8 and choose the option called repair your computer

This should start the recovery.
If something will go wrong during the recovery or recovery hang himself, then press the ESC key to break the procedure and choose repair to follow with the installation.

Usually, this should help. If this isn't the case, then I guess there is something wrong with the recovery partition.
In this case, you will need to order the DVD of restoration of Toshiba.

To do this, see this page:

    I have a new a200.
After a few fews on Vista I installed Windows xp.
Now, I put the Vista (without xp) from the recovery partition.

    How can I do this?

    Michael

You n t need to install the Vista partition but the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Just put it in the CD/DVD drive and boot from this CD.

Notepad starts from the CD and the recovery CD will format the HARD drive!
The entire procedure will take about 10 minutes. Then the laptop will be set back to factory settings.

  • Satellite L300: How to change the language of Vista

    Hi all

I'm no expert, but my daughter bought a Satellite L300 in Germany with Vista Home Premium preinstalled in German!

It is possible (and easy) to change it in English.

    Thanks in advance

Well, it might be possible to change that, but it's not easy!

First if you want to change the language of the OS, you need to download a Pack of MUI (MUI) on the Microsoft Web site.

Unfortunately these Multilingual User Interface Pack is only supported by Vista Enterprise and Ultimate for Vista. So if you use the Home Premium version you will have to upgrade to Vista Ultimate and then to install the MUI or you will buy an English copy of Vista.

  • Satellite L300 freezes with Windows Vista

I use the Satellite L300 laptop with Windows Vista.
Once the connection is freezing, so I used to do Toshiba HDD recovery and formatted and installed with its recovery tools.

Now its connect with normal mode.
The problem is that if I use multitask or open a window or whatever it is the laptop is hanging (freeze).
Again, I have to forcely, I need to start with safe mode and normal mode then again once I get the same problem.

Can someone tell me the solution?

    > The problem is that if I use multitask or open a window or whatever it is the laptop is hanging (freeze).
Maybe some of your applications cause this problem

I think you should check what software could cause what I mean it of not impossible that a 3rd party applications that runs in the background would be the cause of your troubles

Of course, it could also be related to a hardware malfunction. It looks a bit like a RAM problem, but just a personal suggestion.

  • How can satellite L300-19U - I reinstall Vista without having to work the DVD player?

    Hello

I have a big problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300-19U.

1 month ago I installed Windows XP on it and it is now my DVD-ROM is broken, he did not read some CD DVD so I can't use my Vista recovery DVD reinstall Vista. Someone at - it had the same problem?

I heard there is a partition (hiden) where recovery is on it. I'm looking for this partition. And if I find it, I can boot directly from the partition to restore Vista? If not, is there another chance to get it back?

Please help me to reinstall the Vista recovery partition!

    Hello!

The hidden partition you want to say is a feature of Windows Vista, but you can restore t Vista with this partition. The point is that the partition is also deleted because you have installed Windows XP on it.

Restore Vista without recovery disc is possible if Vista is still installed on it. You can go into the advanced boot menu, and then select Repair my computer. Then you can choose the Toshiba HDD recovery option. This is a feature that restores Vista from the second partition.
But like I said is possible with Vista installed.

Just a question: why you n t to a service provider allowed? If your laptop is still under warranty, you should get a new CD/DVD drive for free. Normally it should take only a few days and then you're able to reinstall Vista! :)

Did you check the manual of your laptop?
You will find all the information about to reinstall your laptop or you get back to factory settings. Also you can find here a large number of discussions on this subject so you should only use the search function.

But if you have Vista on your laptop computer you can restore the factory settings if you use HARD drive recovery or you create the recovery disk. For HARD drive recovery works you should only go into the advanced boot menu by pressing F8, select Repair my computer and follow the instructions on the screen.
With drive recovery it s similar: just boot from the floppy disk and follow the instructions on the screen.

In addition, you should this information since the recall of recovery:

  • Satellite L300 - need to Win Vista product key

I have a Satellite L300. OS recently broke down and recovery CD does not work.
I got another CD of instalation windows vista but windows at the back of the laptop dispelled the label, and I can't read the code.

I can provide the invoice product or information of the laptop required for security reasons.

How can I return the product key?

    Thank you

Product key placed in the lower corner of your laptop is useless for you. Why?
This product key is for the original version of recovery that you have with your machine and cannot be used for activation if you install Windows by using the original Microsoft facilities.

  • Satellite L300 - how to save on the E: drive?

    Hello

My sister seems to have problems with his hard drive, he said that it is almost full (vista drive (c :))) a message keeps coming up)
I was wondering just how she can start using the E: drive. Is it possible to change the settings on the computer so that everything is saved on disk E
I don't know much about computers but would really help

It is Toshiba Satellite L300 and Windows Vista 32 bit

    Thanks maz

    Hey Buddy,

You can use drive E all the time... ;-)

The point is that most programs will be installed on the C drive, so you should choose drive E, if you want to install.

In my opinion the best option is if you save all important files and private on second drive E. I mean these files like photos, videos, music, documents, etc. He just copy and post it on the E drive, everything that s! :)

  • Re: Satellite A300 - how to restore the original condition?

    Hello

My computer freezes for a second or 2 from time to time and Toshiba support told me it might be a software problem. I don't think, because he began the day I bought the laptop and the display driver keeps on the work stoppage, but because I said that if it's a software problem.
I would have to pay for it, I want to try everything before sending it for repair. This is why I would like to restore my Satellite in its original state as he was just at the moment where I bought it.

So basically I have 2 questions:

1 - does anyone have any idea why it keeps freezing on me? And what I should try to do to fix it?
    2. can someone tell me how to restore the laptop to its original state?

    Thank you very much Dina

    Hello

To determine if it of a software problem or not, you need to restore the factory setting and if it doesn't work you can go to an authorized service provider. They can repair the laptop for you.

The factory settings can be restored with the Toshiba recovery disc. I guess that your laptop has been delivered with Windows Vista, if you have options to restore factory settings: the Toshiba disk recovery or HARD drive recovery service.

HARD drive recovery function formats the first partition of your laptop and install Vista again with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. It is an image that is stored on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDRecovery.
If you go into the advanced with F8 boot menu after you start the computer, you can start this feature of Toshiba. And then select Repair my computer and some Windows files will be loaded. Then, you can choose the function to drive HARD Toshiba Recovery and follow the instructions on the screen.

The Toshiba Recovery disk, you must create first, or have you done this yet? Normally, you get a reminder of recovery message after the first start of the laptop that you must burn this disc. Therefore, you must the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and the image in the folder in HARD drive recovery will be burned on the disc. Then you have a startup disk that can restore the factory settings and HARD whole disc formats then back up your data first!
The recovery disk is necessary if you have a new HDD or Windows start doesn t. Otherwise, you can use HARD drive recovery.

I hope I could help a bit and now you understand how to restore the factory settings.
If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300 - can't reinstall Vista using the recovery disk

My daughters Satellite L300 gave problems that seem to be hard disk errors.
I installed a new hard drive and tried to reinstall vista from the recovery of the product CD.
Partitions are created successfully and then I get an error "C:\program files\adobe\acrobat restoration...". several times followed by etc

    "image restoration of error."

"The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."

"Imagex error not to VISTA F:\06235XSP.svm Index 2 odd c:\!

    "Press a key to continue."

    And thye ned.

    All ideas

    Hello

Hmm, looks like the laptop cannot restore the operating system from the recovery image
To be honest I'm not very well why this error pops up but eventually it s m related to the new HARD drive installation.

Perhaps, you can format the HARD drive again using a clean Microsoft Windows CD (Win XP, etc.).
Boot from the CD of Win and format the HARD drive.
Then go to the recovery disk, boot from the recovery disc and try reinstalling the operating system

    Maybe it would work

  • Satellite L300 Windows 7 to Vista with Toshiba Recovery CD

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 Series (2008 model) cell, which was originally Vista but I installed Windows 7 Professional on this topic. I would now like to go back to Vista.

I noticed that the "Windows.old" folder created on the c: / drive appears to be missing a lot of files and could have been modified since the date of that its creation. I think it would be too risky to use it to recover back to Vista.

So my question is can I use my original Toshiba Recovery DVD set to return to Vista? I want to do a full factory reset to restore my system when it was purchased with Vista.

If the recovery DVDs is not an option and was the only is by using the Windows.old folder, if it is missing important files so she could leave my corrupt system? I don't know there is a way to get back to Vista by restoring factory somehow.

    Comments and reactions to urgent!

    Thanks in advance.

    > So my question is can I use my original Toshiba Recovery DVD set to return to Vista?
Without a doubt. Only using original recovery disks you will have factory settings again.

  • Satellite L300: How to record the sound from a video without sound

OK, yes the title of the topic is not entirely clear. Here's my situation: I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 with Vista; Realtek HD Audio Manager is installed. I would like to record the sound of a video file using Goldwave (a sound editing program); but I don't want to have to listen to the sound, while it's recording.

On Windows XP, you used to be able to record the sound of the stereo mix, but put the speakers on mute and it would record again. Now I find that I have to turn my speakers in order to record anything on my computer. (Yes, I fiddled with all mute buttons, insured that all reading and recording devices are working and front volumes. My current solution is to plug my headphones on my laptop and to reactivate the sound from the speakers to register... and not put the headphones in my ears)

I have now spent in the last 4 hours looking for a solution, and I must say it's especially ridiculous. I used Vista before and I've heard rumors of how many people hate, but honestly, how is it that now the audio capabilities seem to be reduced?

Does anyone have a solution of how to record sound with the speakers on mute?

    Hello

I also recorded the audio of a video file using another software called 32. and Win XP
I also used the stereo mix, but to be honest I have never muted the speakers while recording.
To be honest I n don't know if it's possible, but if you want to test, you can try the Realtek HD audio Manager in the access panel and set the speakers to cut on the first tab called speaker.
But as I said, I've never tested and that's why I m not very good if it will work.

  • Satellite A80: How to restore the audio and video codecs?

How to restore the audio and video codecs that are installed by default on my Satellite A80 with XP Home edition?
I removed the safe mode, due to a problem with the Pinnacle Codec installed by Pinnacle Studio 10.
Now, I need to put the video standard in audio codecs.
I already downloaded the Microsoft Mediaplayer codec package and video sound new fr in Media Player.
Unfortunately I have always its program to diagnose Toshiba during the test of its Midi and Wave.
System Restore came with the message that the restoration was not possible because no changes had been made.

    Hello world.

I would like to know how can use bluetooth and how to install it on my:
    Satellite L300-204 SYSTEM UNIT
    model No.: PSLB8E - 06100ES4

It is necessary to transfer pictures from my samsung mobile phone

    TKS a lot.
    Kind regards.

    Hello

This model of laptop doesn't support BT (bluetooth).
There is no BT module and so you will not be able to activate and to connect a mobile phone using the BT connection.

The fastest solution would be if external use BT USB dongle.
    This dongle is not expensive!
