Satellite L305D - cannot HARD - Vista disk partition

I have a new PC laptop toshiba Satellite L305D which I'm unable to partition.
It works under windows vista.

I released the hard drive up to 74 GB of capacity of 120 GB.
Recently, I used utility partition paragon that signals the related files and is so unable to make the partition.
The narrowing of Vista utility does not display again whatever it is, it appears as 0.

Hello

What kind of partitions you now exactly?

Perhaps you can post a screenshot of the Vista disk management utility because I m a bit confused now. You wrote about 74 GB of free space and Vista doesn't show anything

I hope this can help you a bit:

  • Satellite A200 - cannot use Vista after the recovery of the product

Hello. I hope someone can help me with the following... This week I had various issues with which follows my laptop a Vista update that system restore did not fix, so I decided to go for a full recovery of product (which I have a complete backup of all my files).

So far I have used the product recovery on my laptop in the 3 ways I can see (and more than once): without changing the settings, change the settings and maximize the partition, change settings and select advance / expertise.

Whenever I was able to complete the initialization of windows, create a new user account, etc. Once the Office has been set up, I get a small window with a progress bar and when it's over, I click on the button 'restart '...

After the reboot, I get the black screen that says Microsoft Corporation with the green progress bar, but he's there for what feels like 'too long '. After a while, I get a black screen with a cursor, then a blue screen for a crash dump.

If I use F8 and boot mode safe, the system stops the CplIR.sys file, although the hard disk activity seems to be continuing. I turn off after 10 minutes.

If I use F8 and then select Repair computer... This is what is happening with each option
-Restore the full windows operating system: after clicking on OK nothing happens.
-Diagnostics of memory: there is no problem with memory
-DOS prompt: I run CHKDSK and there is no problem with the hard drive
-Restart: there is no errors, even if the word diagnosis 'impossible' when he sees, there is no system restore points

Then on reboot I get the black screen with cursor followed by the crashdump OR if I managed to log in and access my desktop, I get the crash dump, as soon as I try to do something (like open Control Panel).

Following the instructions found elsewhere, I have tried this after removing the battery, then changing power management options immediately after the initialization of windows (ie. before clicking on the restart button). No change.

I even ignored the button restart! But still get a crash dump, when I try to do something.

Any ideas? I've got past (ie. wasted) so a lot of time on this and don't understand what may be wrong after formatting the windows drive image and reloading...

    Hello

It's very interesting story. I got several notebooks several times but I never noticed anything like that.
I must say that what you did right and you think appropriately. If I were you I would try exactly the same steps to make it work somehow.
I do not know which issues you had before, but I imagine that here it's just the problems of software and not important for the operation of the equipment.

It's really hard to say what can be the problem. What you can try, is somewhere to get facilities Microsoft Vista disk and install naked Vista to see if the same thing will happen again.
Anyway, the fact is that images of recovery are tested and adapted for each laptop model and if the material is OK there no reason for this kind of behavior.

Try again with the new installation using Microsoft facilities drive and let us know exactly what is happening.

  • Satellite L300 - cannot install Vista - HARD drive not detected

My laptop model is Satellite L300. Model No.: PSLB0E-06U01HAR.

I am facing problem with Windows Vista Home Basic.
In the middle of the instalation, it does not detect the hard drive.
Its shows me the error that is your hard drive erased or not connected the power cable.

But I installed the operating system like UBUNTU successfully opened.

Let me know how to solve this problem.

    Thank you

Did you include the SATA driver?
If this is not the case, this could be the reason why the HARD drive is not detected.

However, you can disable the AHCI in the BIOS and it could spend in compatible mode. In this case the SATA driver is not important

  • Satellite L350 - cannot install Vista and how can I backup my data?

    Hi all

I have a Satellite L350 and recently I installed Vista Home Premium in another language (the OEM Vista was in English) in the hope I could activate it with the OEM key, but I did not.

When I tried to re - install the Vista OEM of WinRE I realized I can't access it, and then I got a "brilliant" idea that will format the C partition with Acronis Disk Director he could boot to WinRE. There can be no.

Fortunately, I have burned before recovery disks. The only problem is that the whole HARD disc recovery disc formats and I have data on the second partition that I would like to recover.

I tried to install Vista retail again to save the data of the second partition (Yes, I'm a fool, I did not before) but it stops after the first reboot. I get a black screen with an underscore will blink.

I really need that data, please help!

    Hello!

I can tell you why you can t install a version of Vista with product key. It's pretty easy because the button on the lower side on the laptop belongs to the preinstalled OEM version and t can be used by a commercial version.

However, I think the best way to back up your data would be that you put the HARD drive in an external HARD drive enclosure, and then you can back up your data on another PC or laptop.
These cases of disc HARD external are cheap but very useful.

  • Satellite L350D - cannot install Vista

    Hello

I just bought a L350D. I followed the instructions for the computer to the top and running for the first time, but vista is not installed.

The Setup utility appears, asking what language I want to and when English is selected, displays a screen saying
"select the item you want" with "English (windows vista)" has put in evidence and in a panel separated under "current recovery disk is 119 GB."

When I click then a window appears with 'check' hddi needles, then "needles hddi not found" and then "error could not move v:\_img\07261xsp.swm to v:\hddrecovery\swimg.

He then says "press any key" and then does nothing.

It seems to me that I should put out a record, but I was not provided with all discs. It also seems that vista is there but it is not.

Any ideas or help would be very appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Hello!

To be honest I think that it s a hardware problem because the problem started the first time.

I don't know m but it could be a problem with the HARD drive. You can check this with Drive Fitness Test. It of freeware and quite easy to use. Download the image, burn on a CD and then boot from it.
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT

If the HARD disk is defective, you must bring it back to the computer store and ask for a replacement. It is a warranty case.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite A350 - cannot activate Vista

    Hello world

I have a problem and hope someone can help me.

After two years I had to reinstall my computer laptop satellite with windows vista. Here's the problem that the productkey is not readable. So I used a little program (productkey86.exe) out of the registry. So far so good. So I installed vista with this productkey but now my computer is telling me that I need to activate. When I try to activate microsoft says: impossible to activate the product.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

Hope to hear from you soon...

    THX

    Edwin

    Hey,.

The problem is that the key on the lower side is an OEM license key and doesn t work with normal Vista installation diskettes. So that s the problem why you can t activate your Vista installation.

You wrote that you have a Vista installation disc. Why you n t use the key that belongs to this disc? This would work ;)

tried to restore in safe mode. Computer won't allow it. Had a msg of error there as well as saying something was missing to the point description of the computer and I need to get properly so that the cd works on the computer. Hello

Why are you trying to restore safe mode factory settings? As far as I know you have to start from the Toshiba drive to restore the factory settings. This is why boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen.

Otherwise, you can try to install Windows from a disc of Microsoft. Maybe your recovery disc is noisy and t can be read correctly. After you install Windows on a Microsoft disc, you can download all the drivers and tools on the Toshiba site. :)

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P200D - cannot install Vista SP1

I tried times serval update to Service Pack 1 of Vista. After that time of serval downloads, laptop installs Service Pack 1. After that serval hours windows update gives an answer that update is not possible with a message that is not explained by Windows.

What is the problem with the update?

    Hello

If you cannot update the SP1 then your Vista is confused upward or SP1 is already installed.

How have you tried to update the SP1? Have you downloaded it from the MS page made one then you perform the update or have you used the Windows Update option in the Panel?

In your case, I recommend to check first if SP1 is installed.
If it was not installed, then rub the BONE using the free CCLeaner tool.

If you want to update the SP1 version, and then try again.

If that does not help then retrieve the operating system using the Toshiba drive and then try to upgrade Vista to the last State.

    Good bye

  • IKEA kitchenplanner 3D does not start at the Satellite L305D

Toshiba Satellite L305D-105, with Vista, all installed updates, browser, IE9.

When you install the kitchenplanner 3D of IKEA, the computer responds with a response DEP (data execution protection) and close the browser.

After the exclusion of the DEP control IE9, nothing has changed, browser close to execution.

Tried another browser, Firefox and Chrome, were also blocked.

It seems that control material for DEP in the Toshiba is too strong.

Any ideas to restore control of the DEP to the laptop.

    Jaap Boot,

    Zeist, Netherlands.

    Hey,.

I put t think that it s a related problem of Toshiba, especially if everything else works correctly and only the plane of IKEA Kitchen not.

You must contact the IKEA online technical support so it s a known issue. Perhaps there is a newer version or update is necessary. Don t get me wrong, but in this case you need assistance to IKEA because they know everything about their own products.

  • Satellite L305D S5895: Win 7 cannot find the HARD drive or cannot format the HARD drive on a clean install

I have laptop Satellite L305D S5895 of the customer. It was delivered to me by the customer who tried to install Windows XP Pro, Vista and none would install.
He said he tried all the CD that he had finally dropped on it and delivered it to me installation.

When I got the score have been removed, so I tried to install Win 7 and when I do a custom install, I get an error indicating that the hard drive can not be formatted on disk 0 or it will give an error that no hard drives have been found.

I have reset the bios default and no matter what I do, it won't format or find the hard drive. I was going to upgrade the bios, but the only way I found to upgrade the bios is once windows is installed.

Everyone has ideas about this laptop so I can get a system installed. I checked the bios and there is no parameters for a sata, raid or IDE disk drive, so it seems that this version cannot be changed.

Thanks for anyone who can help you.

    Hello

First of all it is an American notebook series.
    [Satellite L305D-S5895 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2144776& rpn = PSLC0U & modelFilter = L305D-S5895 & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 1073768663]

The laptop supports a processor AMD and ATI chipset.
This means that the drivers SATA is part of the ATI graphics card driver.

You must include the first SATA driver in order to install the Windows operating system.
You could add the SATA driver for the Windows disk using software like nLite / vLite

  • Satellite Pro U400 VISTA disk management has 6 primary partitions

    Hi all!

I have a strange effect on my Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro U400 (but it seems not to be specific to this one that I saw the same symptoms elsewhere, at the same time):

I had the laptop with a 320 GB drive with recovery-(invisible / "Configuration EISA", 1,46 Go) system (C:, ~ 150 GB) and data (E:, ~ 150 GB) volumes. It's the usual structure of Toshiba,

    pre-installed OS was Vista professional.

As I plan to install Linux in addition, I have done as a result of preparations:

    Recovery disc Vista created 1.).
2.) C: shrunk to ~ 100 GB using Vista disk management tool.
3.) E: shrunk to Go ~ 98 using Vista disk management tool.
It is suggested that 4.) E: directly behind C: using Parted Magic CD.

Finally I got a 97 GB of free space at the end of the disc, and everything worked well away. Creating an additional on the free area, Vista disk management, resulted in an extended partition created by Vista. This extended partition contained the extra volume as well as the free space remaining behind.

To prepare for installing Linux, I've finally created three logical Volumes inside the extended partition with Vista disk management tool.
After that, I had the following structure of the partition on the disk (indicated by the Vista Disk Manager):

    invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
    E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data

~ 97 GB extended partition, containing:
2 GB unformatted (planned for Linux swap)
20 GB unformatted (planned for Linux root "/")
21 GB unformatted (planned for Linux "/ home")
    Empty remaining 54 GB space

    More on Vista worked properly!

Recently, I installed OpenSuse 11.1 using the volumes placed within extended partitions (user-specific configuration). The Installation worked correctly. Logical volumes have been formatted to

2 GB of swap (swap Linux, / dev/sda5)
    20 GB ext3 (Linux root ' / ' on/dev/sda6)
    21 GB unformatted (Linux "/ home" on/dev/sda6)

during the installation of Linux. Linux and Vista up and running with their scores. If I look at the hard drive with Linux' partitioning tool, I see three main partitions + range, as expected. The scope contains the Linux partitions + empty disk space.

    HOWEVER:
    ========

If I look at the hard drive with the Vista disk management tool now, I get the following image:

    invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
    E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data
2 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
20 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
21 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
    Empty remaining 54 GB space

    This means:
VISTA DISK MANAGMENT ME PRESENT 6 PRIMARY PARTITIONS WITHOUT ANY COMPLAIN
Although a hard drive on the PC architecture usually only supports maximum 4 primary partitions.

    Issues related to the:

Have you ever seen a similar behavior?

Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?

Or is it a bug in formatting under Linux?

Is there a solution for this problem?

At present, the two BONES work very well. However, the disk will be get permanently damaged as soon as I try to create more partitions in the empty space left?

Sincere greetings and thanks for your comments.

    Girard

    > Have you ever see similar behavior?
    NO.

    > Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?
I doubt that it is a bug, I think you forgot something.

As far as I know you can create 4 partitions on the HARD drive and this is the reason why you have the ability to create an extended partition.
An extended partition can be divided into several logical drives.

That is why it s wise to create a primary partition for Windows OS for example and an extended partition, which can decompose the in logical drives (partitions) different.

However, I put t see a problem if everything works properly

  • Satellite P300 - question about HARD Disk Partition

    Hello.

I just bought a P300-1 Satellite has very nice portable 8. Everything has been restored to the original state. The thing is, I'm sure someone has resized the partition of HARD drive on the disk "D". It has a 160 GB hard drive, but the "D" drive is showing only 54 GB. I would like to reduce the size to give me maximum space on the 'C' drive but worried that it might affect the "HDD Recovery" folder that exists on this subject.

Any help asap would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you very much

Create recovery DVDs using Toshiba Recovery creator tool. After doing this, you can do with disk partitions you want.
One day, if you want to reinstall Vista and have the factory settings, you can use this created DVD facilities.

Please note: before installation of Vista drive HARD whole lance and ancient structure of the partitions is deleted. Data back up are required.

Please write a little more. I don't think that the service can't do anything.

  • Satellite L305D-S593 - disk read error

My Toshiba Satellite L305D-S593 suddenly stopped. At first I thought he had a little more heated or something, but when I tried to turn back on it gave me a message saying disk-read error press ctrl alt del to restart. I did several times in the same direction. While I tried to reinstall windows, I got lucky if she showed to the installation screen once it did, I followed the instructions for installation clean (I had to do it once before, but for different reasons).

Once he brought me to the menu had to select a partition to install on I said to do it on the main HDD after some loading and that time, he said that it was impossible to complete the formatting required. So I Redid the process and I noticed the music said it had 288 GB of available memory, but before that, I had only about 40. To remedy this, I clicked on the format button and it says that it cannot complete the action because the disk is about to fail.

PS My processor is 64-bit AMD Turion dual core mobile, with 4 GB of RAM

    Hey,.

In my opinion, it has something to do with the HARD drive itself, I guess that it s a bad sector so Windows Setup can format t HARD drive properly. I mean before you tried to reinstall Windows, the system could not start due to a disc read error. This means that the files on the HARD disk are confused because of bad sectors

You can install Windows Toshiba Recovery disk?

If it doesn t work too, I'll try to replace the HARD drive. Usually, it is not complicated and can be done in 5 minutes.
In addition, you can check the HARD disk for errors with diagnostic tools special as Drive Fitness Test. Google a bit for such tools, they are freeware, so it s no problem to find. ;)
