  Problem:
  When I start a program (for example. Sonos controller) on my laptop my mouse pointer stops working. It does not happen with all programs! When I go into Device Manager, my synaptic touchpad and my hid mouse is working also. When I press ctrl - alt - del, the pointer can move again, but when I come back it stops again. I have a work around is not a solution

  When I disconnect my windows account and log in again, it will solve the problem. When I start a program again the pointer will freeze up again.
  I did a complete system of virusscan and a pre start virusscan and my laptop is virus-free.
  I uninstalled the mouse and in drivers reinstalled synaptics them but that has not worked. I added a new account windows but that did not work.
  By pressing the keycombo FN + F9 has no effect.
  I am somehow at the end of my ideas...

  For example, work the touchpad with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, etc.) or navigation in internet by using IE or Chrome?

  My guess is that the pre-installed 3rd application part could affect the functionality of the touchpad.

They are similar to those of others. OK yesterday my little boys spilled my Mtn dew on my keyboard, where is my space bar. My space bar is stiff so ive been told I can jump off keys & clean under it but looked that up & read you can possibably break if you put a lot of pressure. I can't afford to break it because I don't have any other insurance when I bought in July so I did the 1 year warranty for whats wrong cannot be the way I took it my fault or I have to pay to hget fixed it. Can I jump the SPACEBAR off? & If so, what are the chances of breaking? If I can pop off is their a certain direction, I need to pull up?

  This happens if the room is dark for the camera.

  Touch screen don't need any special driver of Toshiba.
  The driver is already part of Windows 8 / 8.1
  That is why I don't think there is a software problem, but of course, I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc just to check if this procedure would allow the touchscreen feature once more.
