Satellite L40-A993 - what is the Toshiba BIOS password?

Yesterday, I left my laptop in mode 'sleep' after work. When I started today morning, he prayed for the password. I never set a password for BIOS and never changed no settings. Currently, its not booting.

Just after ignition, screen opens with "Enter password".
I tried to check online, but I got no idea. Can anyone suggest how to fix it?

Hello Abreu

AFAIK the system settings like BIOS password cannot be addressed only and configuration of the password must be entered twice (password confirmation).
Has anyone access your machine?

I'm afraid that someone put the password on your computer without your knowledge.

  • Satellite A50 543 - what is the correct BIOS?

    Hello

My friend has a portable Satellite and the internal CD drive is broken and its Windows had a virus and was showing strange behavior I want to install XP to clean. Does not support BIOS current ver 1.2 boot from USB CD-ROM drives. In the support section, I found a worm 1.4 BIOS that says in the description "adds this Bios Update expands the functionality of your system.", not very useful.

The bios file is called bios - 20070808112012.zip for model Satellite: A50, model runs no.:PSA50E.

I know this is probably a redundant question, but just to be sure I can be sure it's the correct BIOS that I am not too familiar with Toshiba naming scheme.

    damole

    Hey damole,.

If you don't find this BIOS on Toshiba website for your model laptop is the correct version. I mean why Toshiba has release a bad BIOS doesn t work?

But I searched a bit using Google and I think that it of not possible to boot from USB also with the new version of the BIOS. This is possible on the new laptops and Satellite A50 is old enough, so I think that in this case, you need to replace the CD/DVD drive. Maybe you can get a second hand one from eBay that is cheap.

But if you install XP from a Microsoft disc, a CD/DVD drive isn't necessary. Copy the folder integer i386 to the HARD disk and start the WINNT.exe file.

  • What is the correct bios for my Satellite A100? Is PSAA9E = PSAA9?

    Hello
I want to do a BIOS update. But if I go to the Toshiba driversite: http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_bios.jsp and choose portable--> Satellite--> a series are listed:

    A100 (PSAA2)
    A100 (PSAA8)
    A100 (PSAA9)
    A100 (PSAAN)
    A100 (PSAAR)

At the undersite of my laptop is printed: PSAA9E. Is this the same as PSAA9?

    Hi mate,

Don t worry and download the PSAA9 bios toshiba cuts the last digits of the model number as the last digit probably the region or the country described. I don't know, but what I know is definitely PSAA9E than PSAA9.

  • Toshiba Satellite M60-154: what is the best way for a long service life of a battery?

    Hello Toshiba-users,

I bought the "Toshiba Satellite M60-154" but I want to use most of the time on the AC adapter.

I read the manual, but they say nothing about the battery life for people like me who will use the computer power adapter laptop most of the time.

I would like to know if:

    (1) it is best put the battery inside when I use the laptop on the power adapter for a long time (they say this is not good for the life of the battery when it is fully charged and when he is still in charge...)

    (2) it is best to take the battery when when I use the laptop on the power adapter for a long time and check the battery every week for example to see whether or not it is still loaded (they say it's good for the life of the battery when the battery is fresh off once a week)

Indeed, what should I do to make sure that the battery will have a long life, knowing that I always use the laptop on the power adapter instead.

    Thanks for the tips

    Hello

your info is just. Only put the battery in the laptop, if you want to load or work without mains, to make sure that your battery has a long service life relative.

    Hello

You simply take a look in the manual of the user that was preinstalled on your laptop.
On my laptop, the operating manual has been preloaded with too, and I could find all the necessary information concerning the upgrade of RAM.

The manual says you can use PC2-5300 modules if the A300 would support the RS690M/PM965/GM965 chipsets. But if the laptop is equipped with Intel GL960 chipset, so you can only use the PC2-4200 modules.

Using the Intel GL960 chipset you can extend the RAM to 2 GB (2 x 1 GB RAM)

  • Satellite A55-S1065 - after removing the battery, BIOS ask me password

So, something happened yesterday, and it seems to me that it is very strange.
I have a portable Satellite A55-S1065. And while I was with power point, the
computer crashes. In the midst of my confusion, I decided to delete
the battery just to make him stop.

So I did it and plugged it again
and I tried to turn on the computer. Now, the bios ask me a password,
but I've no idea what password it is that. Can someone help me solve this problem?
IM really desperate to find a solution to this since this computer contain
    many of my works.

    Thank you very much.

    > After removing the battery, BIOS ask me password
I know it may seem silly now, but I never heard of something like that. I use laptop for a long time and I had the experience with many others and strange question, but something like that, never.

Problem is that we are dealing here in the public forum and BIOS password is a very sensitive area and very important security feature, so we can not write here about some illegal ways how you can remove the BIOS password.

If there is no way to start your laptop, I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
    I'm sorry. :(

  • Satellite L850D - 12 p - the rider on the own BIOS password

    Hi all.

I was given a laptop by a parent and I would use it but for the moment can not.

To be honest, the reason that this has been given to me was that there is a password that they have forgotten and even mentioned that the laptop is mine, but I have to have the password removed the bios boot somehow.

I've seen many mentions of the B500 rider in Google but I can not find these on this laptop. No, unless they are hidden pretty well.

There are at least under the removable cover only, memory, CMOS battery and HARD drive.

I had the battery, HDD, RAM and portable removed and left alone for a week. This resulted in nothing.

Is - this laptop has a clear CMOS jumper at all? Anyone know what is her name?

    Laptop model is by Satellite L850D - 12 p.

    Thank you very much.

    Albert

    Hi Albert

Please don't get me wrong, but we cannot start such things on the public forum of Toshiba.
BIOS password is very important security feature. As far as I know Toshiba uses several techniques for BIOS password removal. One that is used on your computer does not for me so I can't help you with this.

Point is that many users protect machines clean and backed up data with this password. When we are discussing here on this subject and maybe offer detailed how do to remove the BIOS password each laptop stolen could be unlocked.

BIOS password removal just contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite L40 - need driver for the modem on high definition audio bus device

    Hey there!

I have a little problem with my Satellite L40-143 (Modell Nr.: PSL40E-04E00LGR).
I changed from Windows Vista to Windows XP Professional and found that all need drivers, except a "device on high definition audio bus modem.
The drivers I found on the Toshiba page don't work anymore.

I would be very grateful for all the good ideas.

    Thank you ^ ^

    Sayo

Laughing out loud. Hey Buddy what s the problem
You have no sound on your laptop or you cannot burn a CD with your CD/DVD drive?

The fact is that DON T need all the drivers for the CD/DVD drive. The operating system uses Microsoft own driver!
If you want to burn media, you must install a burning like Nero for example software!

    Good bye
