Satellite L40 laptop does not turn on

After spending some time on the internet last night I turned off the laptop and he left that night.

When I came back to it the next morning it wouldn't start, if you press the switch, the led on the front of the laptop to power green lights and stays on and the CD player starts but nothing else works.

I removed the battery and tried to run just the laptop on sector and also tried from the laptop's battery but it makes no difference

Hello Mark

It sounds bad, and I'm afraid that there is not much you can do. Remove the battery and leave the laptop during the night. Try starting again on AC power only. If still nothing happens, you should contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer.

Let them control the electronic power supply. Satellite L40 is not that old, and I think the warranty is still valid. Isn t it?

    • Reconnected the battery and the adapter.

PS: I have no warranty for my laptop.

    Thank you

    Kirti.

Check that the LED on the adapter lights before plugging the end of the book.  If this is not the case, replace the card.

Try without the battery - if it will then light up, the battery is bad.

Unplug, remove the battery, press power for 30 seconds and remove and reinstall the bars of memory.  Try again.

If it lights with a good map and without the battery, replace the motherboard.

    Hello

I am facing a problem for the last few days on my Satellite PRO U - 300 (31st PSU)...

The machine does not turn off and the power light stays on (blue LED) even after you have disabled. In fact, happened 3 - 4 times when I start the computer normally by pressing the power button / stop, it does not start and I noticed that the indicator was not extinguished even after + shut down +. Like any it is blocked! I have to finally, remove and reinsert the battery to start the laptop.

Some details of my pc are as under:

Can someone help me solve this problem. Is it possible that during the uninstallation of programs, any perticular driver file is also deleted?
    Thank you

    Hello

I don't know that you understand the indicator of power, but to me it sounds like AC Power LED and this LED is always on when the laptop is connected to the power supply.

Power on / off LED is probably what you mean (the other starting on the left).
Anyway, you turn off your laptop using a standard on the Start button?
Are you sure you want to use the Hibernate mode.

Believe me, the entire description here is pretty confusing to me. It may be that the laptop is turned OFF but power light is still on.

Have you installed something 4 days ago? Or deleted some important application?
Sorry, but it is not easy to say with certainty what the problem is here.

    Hello

On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

  • V3 - 571G problem cable, laptop does not turn on

    Hey everybody,

A few months ago, as the battery, the loading of the laptop has stopped, and the laptop was not any more recognized battery icon (like the battery is not connected) so I had to use the laptop plugged in all the time but not biggie.

But last week the laptop does not work at all. Even plugged in, there are no more than 5 seconds. I opened it and noticed a problem on the cable connecting the charger to the motherboard. On the cable is cut (the black one).

I took a few pictures on the cable said:http://imgur.com/a/9n2F7

Is - this cable easily repleacable?

The last 2 pictures are on a piece, I am just curious to know. What is this piece?

  • Satellite A300D - 14 P: laptop does not turn on

The sleep of the command was made for windows. After that the PC won't turn on at all. After his button starts to light, drive HARD and CDROM by pushing the power button, turn, but the screen remains black, the CPU fan turns after a few minutes, BIOS and operating system do not start the process. After pressing the power again, the PC is turn off immediately. Formed the impression that the computer is still asleep.
Can you suggest what kind of problem, this could be?

P.S. In the forum, I find this suggestion:
    ' 1. unplug the laptop.
    2. remove the battery
    3. hold the power button for 20 seconds (do this drains any excess power fron the unit)
    4. put battery back in
    5. plug in laptop
    6. try to market"

I try but the computer still does not work :(

    Hello

    I found another workaround solution;
Remove the AC adapter and battery
Leave the laptop disconnected for long periods. I guess you should wait a few hours.
Then reconnect the battery and ac adapter.
Then try to turn on the device

  • Satellite L40-139 does not start

    ? 19/02/2014 18:41 - edited? 19/02/2014-18:45

Hello, I have a problem with the SATELLITE L40-139

the thing is when I press the power button / stop, hard drive led will begin to Flash, CD-ROM led is lit and the screen is black. I noticed that advise in the CD-ROM makes a sound ICT in the same way the hdd led flashes (when it flashes I hear a tick form CD, yes I unfolded any computer laptop).

I can only say that I have connected my PC HARD drive and it's working., good fan is not working too, but I think it will start, after some time (as he always did)

Notebook crash circumstances are now saying: that a year ago, he fell from 1 inch (such height ;]) I saw that the ribbon cable connecting the touchpad to the mohterboard was broken and my diidn can't start computer, I thought that there's a problem, but I forgot and left the laptop for more than 9 months (with hard disassebled and battery and cd-rom drive) and then I decided to try to turn it on.
And viola! It works it boots etc.

After a month of being happy, I'm drunk I couldn't sit on the Chair and I decided to sleep with my laptop on the bed, I lied right down and put the laptop on my belly and it crashed (screen freezes) so I decided to reboot, but it does not start.

Here is a video with what I get when turning the power on it: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC0pGBBVwJk] (not Fortunately my phone fell in the mud and shifts when I record videos)

Some people suggest I should connect an external display to see if theres no picture but the result is always the same. (Screen not even fuels not on)

Maybe someone could help me fix without sending it to the customer service.

    See you soon.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. Of course, you can try to do some tests and try to make some conclusions which may be wrong. After his last stop somewhere I think that there is big problem with graphics card. Of course I can't say it for sure.

Diagnosis just exact mainboard can offer answers. I m afraid mainboard is dead and must be exchanged.

  • Satellite L40 - 10U - does not start

    Hello

My Satellite L40 - 10U won't boot to the top. I turn it on, fan, DVD-ROM, battery LED works. Hard drive LED flashes only once (if I'm lucky). The screen is blank, in the light of the Sun, I noticed it darkenes lit, but no other activity (I tried external, still nothing). I also tried the trick with removing the battery push the power button, and plug the charger, etc but still nothing.

Now, I noticed that when I remove the Rams (or try connecting only once in time) it still does exactly the same thing, so I want to make sure if it is a problem with the Rams dead? Is there a way to check the Rams without connecting to another obstacle not tariff (I did not)?

    > my Satellite L40 - 10U won't boot to the top. I turn it on, fan, DVD-ROM, battery LED works. Hard drive LED flashes only once (if I'm lucky). The screen is blank, in the light of the Sun, I noticed it darkenes lit, but no other activity...
And what happens at this point? Laptop will stay on or get OFF automatically?

  • Satellite L450d-113 does not turn on

    Hello

I wonder if someone can help me.

All turns on my Toshiba Satellite L450d-113.
I tried to take out the battery and hold the power button / stop for a while but nothing seem to work.

I have some very important things about this University and I really need help.
When I plug in the charger the power light blinks for a while then nothing.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you...

First of all, of all the good news:
Your University stuff on the HARD drive does not seem to be affected because I think that HARD drive is not a malfunction. So you can remove the laptop HARD drive form and could connect to another computer using an external USB 2.5 HDD caddy.
In this case, you will have access to personal data.

Now back to the problem laptop.
It looks like a malfunction of the physical environment and I guess parts like motherboard, CPU modules or RAM can prevent the unit of power.

RAM modules can be replaced very easily, but I put t know if the RAM is really the troublemaker.
Maybe you can visit some of downtown specialist for laptop to check the modules.

  • Satellite L40 - 17U does not illuminate

    Hello world!

    I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L40 - 17U.
It lights without a battery. Laptop works for several minutes with the battery, then turns off. Can it work without the battery? If it is possible, then, what can be the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

If there is no problem with electronic power supply each notebook can operate with power current only (removed battery).
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. We don t know anything about this machine.
Sine when did you notice this problem?
Machine can also have problems if the BIOS is damaged.

    Who knows what's wrong there.
