Satellite L50-B-27N - upgrade to the reader of the SDS

Hello
I got SATELLITE L50-B-27N and I want to add drive hard ssd, is possible to add to the 1 TB 5400 RPM that comes with the laptop or I have to replace the ssd instead of the 1 TB drive?

I plan to do the same thing with my L50t-A-145 and would just buy a caddy of the Bay for optical drive on eBay. Your laptop has optical drive (DVD or Bklu-ray)? If so, it should be easy to remove - one of the screws on the bottom of your laptop will be used to set the optical drive in place. If you can work what screws it is and remove it, the optical drive should just slide out. You can then measure the thickness is (probably ~ 9mm) and then order an appropriate caddy. You can either put your SSD or the stock laptop 1 TB HARD drive in the caddy and bingo your laptop has 2 hard drives.

Hope that helps,

3g

  • Satellite L50 - A-1 DG - with the new SSD HARD drive replacement

    Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG

I would put my SSD in the PC and install win7 on it. But it does not work.

I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

I tried to replace the SSD hard drive. Then the pc cannot start up. And I can't get into the bios or adjustment.

    Someone knows what's the problem?

    > I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

This does not work with all models of laptops.
As far as I know that the laptop must support Slim Select Bay and the BIOS should also support this hardware option. But in your case, it doesn t.

One possible solution is the use of SOLID-STATE drive instead of the HARD disk.

You said that you are not able to access the BIOS after these updates.
Well, before you do this (a SSD drive connection) you should access the BIOS and must disable secure boot and must set the start mode MSC mode.

    The comments appreciated.

  • Satellite A-C55-1N1 - upgrade of the network cards

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1N1 running Windows 8.1 and want to update the NETWORK Ethernet card both cards Wi - Fi, with the upgrade of the most important Ethernet card.

Current card Ethernet installed (by Device Manager) is Qualcomm Atheros AR8172/8176/8178 PCE - E Controller Fast Ethernet (NDIS 6 h 30). I would like to move to GigaBit Ethernet.

I don't want to disassemble the laptop to determine the size of the current map before obtaining beforehand a replacement (to avoid repeated disassembly). Can someone please help with the details of the existing card (for example what size/connections) and what other cards would be compatible to use to reach GigaBit speeds, if indeed this is possible?

Map current WiFi installed (by Device Manager) is Qualcomm's Atheros AR956x wireless network adapter. I would like to be able to also connect at 5 GHz...

As with the Ethernet card, I would get a compatible card before dismantling and would ask the same questions. I also understand that I would need 2 or 3 internal antennas to reach faster speeds of the WiFi. Can someone advise please on existing maps, maps of appropriate replacement and on the issue of the antennas.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Due to specific design material update on laptops is very limited and supported. Support is upgrade RAM or HARD disk. It's nothing more than that.
You can find a list of compatible RAM memory modules to upgrade. HDD or SSD upgrade is not problematic and, on most portable models, it can be done by the owner of the laptop.

All the other hardware upgrades are not supported. I do not understand that you want to use the material with the best specification but that should help you with this?
    > Can someone please help with the details of the existing card (for example what size/connections) and what other cards would be compatible to use to reach GigaBit speeds, if this is indeed possible?
These info, you can get the laptop to the manufacturer or an authorized only, partner, but they will tell you the same thing I have already written.

My advice to you: do not disassemble the laptop on your own. In a first time the valid warranty and secondly, you can damage something.

At the end one, may be stupid, the question: what is the problem actually? Is your machine so slow or what? I mean in particular the LAN connection. It must be OK.

  • IDE #1 ERROR Satellite A40-151 - no upgrade of the dvd/cd player

    Hello
Yesterday, I was using my A40-151, as I do every day, and I noticed that I don't have a dvd player on my computer anymore. I opened the drive and put a cd inside. The player makes all the usual noise and then stopped, but there was still not a dvd drive on my computer icon.

I rebooted and noticed that the IDE #1 Error message appears at the top right of the screen on power upward. eventually the laptop just starts as normal, and all operations seem normal (touch wood!).

I have not upgraded / removed the drive. In fact I've never opened the laptop once and it was a year ago to upgrade the RAM.

I "googled" the problem, but I'm still no wiser despite a few threads on various reading forums.

I'd appreciate any help that my thesis is due soon and I need my car!

    See you soon

    Hello

This error usually appears because of the evil master /slave on the STRANGE settings.
But in this case, the BIOS would not recognize the drive and it is not possible to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM.
So maybe the problem is related to another question.

I found this thread: seems to be useful for you

  • CPU Temperatur on Satellite L50-B-27N

    Hello

I just bought a Toshiba L50 B 27N Notebook. Installed Windows 8.1, all drivers of Toshiba page.

I would also like to play games with it, but when you play a game, after a few seconds, the framerate drops for a few seconds, then they increase again, then unmold and so forth.

I noticed that in the same cycle of the CPU load increases, decreases and so on, but only for max 80%, while the CPU frequency is lowered.

HWInfo said, that in this case the CPU temperature increases to 103 dregree. I think the system with this temperature slows down. If someone can confirm this?

If so, what is a 'feature' by design, which means I can't use the laptop in Direct 3D mode?

    Thank you and best regards

Start a game, all parts laptop as CPU/GPU are stressed are fully utilized.
This increases the dissipation of heat and of course the temperature.

Also the settings of the game have great influence on the performance of the laptop.
Launch a game using high graphic details would slow down the system because the CPU and the GPU needs to manage the large amount of graphic details.

Well, your question is related to the temperature of the CPU.
I think you should check the cooling mode in Windows power settings.
In the advanced power settings, you can change the mode of cooling so the % for max and min CPU performance.

I recommend you degrade the performance of the processor %; That is to say 90-95%.
I guess it would decrease the temperature of the CPU too.

  • Satellite L50-A-103: cannot use the Nvidia GPU as default after Win 8.1 upgrade

My Toshiba L50-A-103 has two graphics cards, an Intel(r) HD Graphics 4000 and Nvidia GeForce GT M 740.

In my workplace, I use an external SyncMaster 2032BW monitor with a resolution of 1680 x 1080.
I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows and I can't use the card nvidia as a default value.

Now detects only Intel processors with up to 1366 x 768.
Is there a solution to this problem?

    Hello

Update you all Win 8.1 drivers and utilities that have been released for this model on the page of the Toshiba UE driver?

After the update of the system Win 8.1 you must update the drivers in the correct order.
The installation instruction is also available on the Toshiba driver page!

  • Satellite L50-B-date/time in the BIOS resets without battery

    Hello friends :-)

I just bought new laptop Toshiba Satellite L-50-B (Skullcandy). After a few days, I read on the internet if I want to save my battery I have to just take off and works on current alternative. I did it. My battery is fixed by two screws. When my battery is removed, I noticed a problem, my time of BIOS is reset whenever I turn off the laptop. When I put the battery, time is not set to zero.
I have difficult, maybe it was a CMOS battery? What do you think? I open it and I couldn't find the CMOS battery?

Another question, why the battery is fixed by two screws? I wondered, maybe she is not intended to be deattached?

    Hello
did you get anywhere with this? I have the same problem.

  • Satellite A40: Question about upgrade from the DVD UJ-850

    Hello

I have a satellite A40, I recently installed a new motherboard to. Everything now works perfectly, and I plan to change the CDRW/DVD drive to a dvd burner.

The current player is a panasonic-UJDA750. I intend to replace it with a UJ-850 for the dvd burner. Could someone please advise whether it is a good drive to go to any other suggestion and if I need different drivers for the drive to work or is it just a straight swap out.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

Before you buy a slim drive you must be sure that this drive is compatible with the Satellite A40.
There is a big difference between external drives for desktop PCs and laptops.
The master/slave/c-salt settings on slim drives are fixed and cannot be changed.

If you buy a slim with wrong settings drive, the BIOS does not recognize the drive and you'll get an error IDE #1.

I recommend that you contact the service provider allowed in your country and ask guys for compatible DVD burner for you A40.

As a reader of DVD-R/RW compatible, you can use the Toshiba SD-R6112 or drive Pioneer G8CC0001L810 drive.
I also found some readers of DVD-Multi (CD-R/RW DVD-RAM/R/RW) compatible:
    Panasonic G8CC00019810
    TEAC G8CC00013810

Sorry for the strange number, but I guess these are the numbers of Toshiba.
Try google. You may find a full name.

  • Satellite C660 - how to upgrade with the webcam internal?

    Hello!

I just bought a satellite C660, however it did come with a webcam or a microphone, I need now.

I note the slot above the screen that should accommodate a web cam - it is relatively easy to buy something to get into that and install it myself (I'm not very technical and is not a good range of tools)?

Or, is it a reliable add-on camera / mic combination should I get?

The camera lens is especially Skype videoconferencing. Might be interesting to make the recognition of faces too, but not absolutely necessary.

    Thank you!
    Chris

    Hello

There are different models on the market with a different hardware configuration.
Your laptop was released would accuse this cam.

You can't pass this laptop with the internal webcam.

I recommend that you buy a simple USB webcam, which can be connected to the USB port if necessary.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L50 - A - unable to detect the remote device on BT

    Hello

I have a C50-A-1E9 Satellite, I bought with Windows 8.1 and it downgraded to Windows 7 change HARD for one SSD drive.

    Everything works fine except Bluetooth.
I have an Atheros AR956x wireless network card.

Already reinstalled battery bluetooth several times, also with the installation of Package before Bluetooth filter driver (here I do not know if the installation worked, because I do not receive a "Installation complete" message, but no error message no more).

The Bluetooth Manager, and everything seems fine.
Just that I can't find other devices when I try to add new connections (tried several of them - speakers bose, galaxy S2) and devices do not see my computer.

It seems that my computer think Bluetooth works, but in fact it doesn't.

You have ideas, what's not here? Thank you in advance!

I don't have experience with this machine, but by the use of BT is important the BT module is successfully activated. To do this, as far as I know, you use the FN key combination.
    Issues related to the:
You can use the FN keys in general?
When you press the FN key you find at the top of your screen flash cards?
You can use FN + F12 key combination?

  • Satellite A60: Question about upgrade from the CD - RW drive

I have a laptop A60 sitting with a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. I want to upgrade to a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. I understand that I have the choice between UJDA 750 and the SD-R2512. Someone can offer a preference and I need firmware / drivers for these to work?
Is it simply a matter of just replacing the unit?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I assume that the best idea is to have the DVD burner. In this case, there is possibility to burn CDs and DVDs all formats. I found the info A60 also comes with super-multi drive (TEAC DV-W24E) and this should be also compatible with your A60.

For the feature, the firmware is not relevant as the compatibility of the player.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 6: restore the preinstalled recovery Partition

    Hi all.

I changed the partition of my HARD drive, now the preistalled Partion Recovery is no longer available.
I understand that in this way, that the partition table has been altered and if the recovery Partition is not found to restore the factory settings or create a recovery disk.

However, the recovery partition is still on the HARD drive and its contents seems to be correct.

Is there a way to make the partition available recovery yet?
(For the moment, I can use the Lalonde by starting a 'live cd')

    Thanks in advance.

    > Is there a way to make the partition available recovery yet?
If I understand the recovery partition is still available, but the problem is that the installation of recovery tool can't find it more. Recovery partition is visible only in the event that this laptop has the factory settings and initially defined partition structure.

Unfortunately now you can start recovery image installation.
Did you create a recovery media according to the instructions described in the user s manuals document?

  • Satellite L50-A01Q: where to find the latest Intel graphics driver

I brought a Blu - Ray external drive and tested to see if I could play blurays but the Intel graphics driver is outdated.

I downloaded the new driver from Intel, but he could not install.
He said I had to download the driver of my manufacturer.

But the new driver is not available from Toshiba?
There, because I can not play blurays.

    > I downloaded the new driver from Intel, but he could not install.
    > He said I had to download the driver of my manufacturer.

Of course, you can install the Intel driver downloaded from Intel page.
You must download the zip package where only files are placed in the record of the driver.
Then you have to unpack this package, then go to Device Manager and update the driver by using the Advanced installation procedure. This will allow you to point to the folder of the Intel driver you have unpacked (desktop?)

    This procedure worked for me
