Satellite L50 - B - same as BIOS ROM error update

I tried to download the update to the BIOS, but there was an error to say how much the size of BIOS or the version is identical to the ROM what - does that mean and can I update anyway?

With the help of satellites L50 - B.

BIOS version is installed on your machine? I just want to check the version of the BIOS update on the Toshiba download page.

By the way: what is the reason for the update? Is there a problem you're trying to fix with BIOS update?
My advice to you is: don't change anything, if not necessary.

  • Satellite L50 - A - version of BIOS and SSD

    Hello world!

I have a question to put to you.

I would buy an SSD (250 GB) and replace the original HARD drive that gives me a lot of problems in terms of percentage usage and if it slows down the laptop.

In the Internet I found a lot of questions on my laptop (Satellite L50 series - L50-A-1CU) and SSD, particularly for the version of BIOS that could not properly recognize the SSD.

Does anyone has installed an SSD on this laptop? What version of BIOS is necessary for correct installation? I have the BIOS version 1.90.

    Thank you very much

After the computer restarts, I noticed that it takes a long time to turn on.
I have tryied to uninstall and reinstall these drivers, but with no result, the only result is that the pc at the moment does not at all.
There is no way to reset the pc, because the windows BIOS is not shown.
It only flashes the led 'NUM LOCK' and nothing else, there is no answer for every keypressed on the keyboard.

How can I make it work again? If not, how can I save the data from my HARD drive?

    Thanks to advice.

Looks like the BIOS corruption, were you by changing the BIOS settings when shooting problems? Did you uninstall the drivers of your firmware? You may need to flash to your laptop with a file of crysis recovery. And sometimes, there is no guarantee of operation. You can try a BIOS reset first, remove your dough and unplug the unit, hold down the power button for a minute without letting go of taken, then plug the device with the battery and turn it on. Is anything being displayed on the screen? You can repeat this process but hold the Fn + ESC key before you plug in the power cable and turn it on then still hold Fn + ESC. What are the results?

If it does not, then you need to find the BIOS for the online of the file system and then your flash system, need a BIOS compatible with a version equal or superior to your.

  • Satellite L50-A-160 does not start after the Bios Update

Hi, first of all, this is first post.

    I have 2 satellite L50-A-160 with bios 1.1

Problem: seems to go to sleep after a few minutes, even working on them (even with both)

So, I found an updated version 1.9, downloaded and running on one of the laptops. the biosupdate tool found matching the BIOS and a race.
In the middle of flashing, he fell asleep. turned on and not start. What can I do? Recovery options? I guess the same thing will happen with the other too...

What is the problem with these computers?

Besides; very poor battery, always shows 0% available and not charging...
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Best regards
    -always in the hope.
    GT

Have you tried to change in Power Options?

See screenshot and try to change the ones I marked (it can refresh the settings, just change the values) and see if this solves the problem.

and for the other laptop with no boot, a laptop sleep by updating the bios will surely mess it.

what I don't understand is why your sleep laptop BIOS update, as far as I know the sleep settings is active then on windows (since this is controlled by windows)
He does not sleep while in the BIOS you leave 1 year, sleep settings active only after loading windows.

have you tried to check the time of processor for your laptop? Maybe its overheating causing auto-off

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 7 does not start

A month or 2 ago, I had the same problem. I feel that I can go anywhere with my problem so here is my last hope.

So first of all, there is a moment that I was using my laptop Toshiba L50 - has - 1 7 during the evening. I put on the mode 'sleep', lay on the ground and go to sleep. The next morning, I decided to use my laptop again, but it wouldn't start. The single LED light that worked was that it was the battery being fed or whatever. Done quite some research and I wanted to disconnect the battery of my laptop but I discovered that the battery is supposed to stay connected. Instead, there is a switch force or something. I just have to go in there with a needle, click and hold the button for 30 - seconds-ish and it would be identical to unload my PC or something else.

I tried, but nothing happ-ERA and I contacted the online store where I ordered it to help. They have not really give any useful information and I was getting enough. They do not have help me to think about the problem, they just kept saying that I had to return it. I asked how long it would take and if I lose files. They said there is a chance of losing files and it would take more than 3 weeks. I can't really lose my cell phone for more than 5 days! It's quite a disaster because I need every day my laptop.

In the morning, after that I decided to retry the stop switch to force thingy. I held the Start button and after a 10 - ish seconds there once again. All current progress was saved, and it was as if nothing had happ-ERA since then. I still had on the browsers and file op - en. Quite a miracle and a lot of luck involved. I don't like not how, but this worked so I stopped looking for answers. A day later, the same thing happ-ERA again. But this time, I just closed and ERP - ERA my laptop. This triggered somehow it of sleepmode and it worked again. So that's what I kept the past month. Some days, that I had to reboot my pc for updates but then I just clicked restart instead of shutdown down.

Now, today I had to go and he gave me a typical firewall error when in the game so I decided to shut it down (for the first time since I had these problems). I come back home and I have the same problem again... Now I have even more scared that it won't start because it is now completely off and no "standby mode". I tried o-p-e-n-i-n-g my laptop once again, by using the switch to stop, but it did not help to get started.

    Hi Sil22

I'm scared of m that this awakening / power on the subject indicate that there is a serious problem with the material.
As you mentioned in your post, force to shut down the unit should help to stop/Reset of the laptop where it is hung.

But as I understand the question, the laptop has been turned on properly and probably in this case this switch would not be very.
I m not very good if you will be able to solve this problem without the help of additional service.
In the worst case I recommend you contact Toshiba ASP (authorized in your country service provider) in order to check the laptop for possible hardware malfunction.
All FSA available worldwide could be found here: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

    But you issue:
Even if you have already tried the force stop switch I recommend checking of workaround steps once more:
Disconnect the power adapter and use a an object from sliding into the hole to support the force stop switch. Please hold switch 10 sec long.
Then you must also press on and press and hold the power for 30 seconds about

After that, connect the AC adapter and check if the power light is on.
If it s ON, then it means that the power supply is provided correctly to the laptop.
Now press power button again to power the unit in place.

If it works, well, then I recommend you update the BIOS of your laptop.
The latest version of the BIOS can be downloaded here:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
    Choose the Satellite L50 PSKK6E
Also Windows system should be updated to the latest state!

Where workaround is not helpful, I recommend using ASP.

  • DV7-1125ef: BIOS/insydeflash error. HP GIVES NO ROM 2 FILE THE RETURN

Hi, there is a previous post called

BIOS/insydeflash error. HP GIVES NO ROM FILE

I have the same problem. My Bios version is F.12. Trying to update with the files of available bios (F.2C and F.2D) gives an error message: no ROM file in this directory. The solution given in the previous post is to install all previous BIOS uptades one by one.

    My problems are:

    1. numeric keypad on my keyboard refuse to work

    2. the computer does not start with linux fedora 22 internal SATA. It starts with Win7. She agrees to boot with linux on an external usb drive or a key.

So, if anyone has these bios uptades F.12 pitting F.2C or could tell me where to download, it would really help!

    Thanks for reading

Sparkles1 thank you for your very quick response. I finally got links to all previous versions of Bios on the internet. This bios is a bit special. You must install all versions one by one in order until the last of them available. HP site only gives access to the last 2 (F.2C and F.2D). In my case, I just couldn't go to F.2C F.12. It is does not work and ends with an error message. Now it's done and my problems are solved. I mark the thread as solved. Thx again.

  • BIOS rom checksum error does not start

    Compaq

    will not boot at all

When I turn it on it automatically goes to a black screen that says:

    Award Bios BootBlock v1.0

Copyright (c) 2000, price Software Inc.

    BIOS Rom checksum error

keyboard err or no keyboard present

    IDE ATAPI device detection...

Found CDROM tries to boot from the pass it...

can anyone tell if this can be fixed if it can and you know I would appreciate it a lot

Oh and I got a windows vista disc to see if it downloads it, but just on the same screen

The "boot block" needs to load the rest of the BIOS of a memory chip. Since it doesn't, either the battery on the motherboard (a piece the size of a $0.25 coin silver) has failed, either the content of the memory chip cannot be read.

Replacing the battery is fairly easy.
First of all, notice the writing on the top of the battery.
You will need to put the new battery into the socket,
with similar writing facing face up into the socket.
Look on the edge of this battery to a small 'finger' which holds the battery in its socket. Push this "finger" of the Center, and the battery must be able to be raised.
Remove the accumulator at any computer store and get a replacement.
Insert it, and then try again.

If the problem persists, then either he must:
    * Replace the motherboard
    * replace this chip memory (which can be soldered on the motherboard at all times).
    * replace the computer, taking the disc drive of the old computer and its connection as a 'slave' the drive in the new computer.
    * take your computer to an expert technician.

The attempt to boot from the CDROM is a process "emergency", to use when you have a specially created CD disc that contains a copy of the software to load into the memory of the BIOS chip. It is not a 'normal' start (to load the Vista disc).

  • Satellite L50-B-16V - Starcraft 2 performance decreased after update BIOS?

    Hello

I played Starcraft 2 for awhile on my Satellite L50-B-16V using average settings quite fluently, however, now the computer's performance has worsened considerably. Framerate decreases with the increase of number of units in the game, in the end that I get framerate as images 1 / 3 sec, even low settings.

The only thing that has changed since the game worked fine, was updated to BIOS to version 2.0. Could it be the cause of the problem? And if so, is it a safe way to downgrade the BIOS to 1.9?

    Thank you.
    Karel

    Hello

The BIOS update should not affect the performance of the game.
But after the BIOS update you should definitely take the default settings of the BIOS (by pressing F9 in BIOS). Then save the changes and exit the BIOS.

In addition, you must check the AMD/ATI settings in the ATI Control Center.
As I m not wrong no you can increase the performance of the GPU but of course, it would increase GPU s heat dissipation and temperature s notebook would be upward.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 1DV Win8.1 - Windows Update error 0 x 80070057

    Hello

Toshilba Satellite L50-B-1DV my son has not run successfully a Windows Update since last October - I only discovered this yesterday.

When I had a look at the updates and pretty nearly any type of troubleshooting, I try, fails with the error message "0 x 80070057. I have rooted online but can not see any patches, obvious.

We would prefer to solve ourselves, but that machine is that six months our next step is to take it back to John Lewis for repair - which would be a shame because he uses his laptop everyday.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    Mark

    Hello

You mentioned the error 0 x 80070057 during installation of the update.
This error occur due to several reasons and that's why it s not easy to say why this happens exactly. But the most common cause can be the missconfigured or damaged registry system reserved partition.

    My recommendation for the workaround:
Try to repair the system and the registry using CCLeaner. You can use this freeware software for cleaning the registry and to remove the garabage system.

If this is not enough, try to repair the operating system using the own options of the system.
The "automatic repair" option tries automatically to diagnose and resolve problems that may cause Windows 8 not at the beginning or have different behavior of evil.
Auto repair starts automatically when Windows cannot start properly. If it finds problems, it will automatically try to fix it, but it can also be started manually.

Access to the auto repair located on Windows 8 start screen. Now "Advanced" in the search box. When the search results display, click on the category of "settings".

Now, click on the "advanced boot options" option and you will see the screen "General PC settings. Look for the option "Advanced startup". Click the restart and Windows 8 will restart your computer to directly access the advanced boot menu.

Click the "Troubleshooting", then on the button 'Advanced Options '. Click on the option "automatic repair". Your computer will now reboot and Windows is preparing the auto repair. When it's done, you log on to an administrator account.

Click on the "Continue" button to continue the auto repair. Automatic repair will now start and attempt to diagnose the problem with your computer.

During the process of auto repair, your computer may restart. It is a normal behavior. Once completed the automatic repair process, he will let know you if she has been able to repair anything. If this isn't the case, you will see a prompt asking you if you want to stop or use other tools.

If your computer is still unable to start, you need to click on the 'Advanced Options' button, then select "Troubleshooting" and finally "Advanced Options." For an auto repair failed, please try the built-in windows 'System restore' using the recovery media or the option "Reset".

  • Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 - new SSD is not recognized in the BIOS settings

    Hello

    I just bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 2-8 and I also bought Samsung SSD 850 evo 250 GB.
When I try to install the SSD drive rather my drive HARD, the BIOS show 'none' in the category of SSD/HDD (BIOS not recognize the SSD).

    Please help me.
    My bios version is: 2.00
someone told me that I have to downgrade my version of BIOS to 1.2V and then the BIOS recognize the SSD drive, so perhaps someone here can send me a download link for version 1.2 of my model L50 - B - 2-8.
    Thank you

someone told me that I have to downgrade my version of BIOS to 1.2V

And who? I mean you are sure that this person was right?
From my point of view of the few there is no reason why beginning version BIOS should recognize the SSD and the latest version of the BIOS is not...

But BIOS v1.2 for series Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 PSKTQE there is no v2.0 (at this time) is the latest version and previous versions of BIOS are not available for this series.

Also, I guess you must slimply check different SSD drive... it might be possible that the other SSD drive would be recognized correctly.

By the way: I am owner of Evo 850 SSD drive and as I remember, I had to update the firmware of the SSD drive to use it correctly in my other laptop (not the Toshiba device)

  • Caps lock error & keyboard - Satellite L50-A-1F2

    Hello world!

Can someone help me solve these problems with the SHIFT key?

    * 1st problem: *.
The led on the key caps in my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-1F2 is always on.

    * 2nd problem: *.
I did some tests using MS Word:
When caps lock shift is not active, I can write without problem.
When shift caps lock is enabled, I have problems with some keys (all in the same "column"): 3, D, E, C.
    When I press on:
    3: I get the symbol ' - '.
D: the cursor moves to the line below
E: I get the symbols TM; Sometimes it activates Intel graphics deal
C: the cursor moves to the beginning of the first line.

Thank you in advance for help you!

Usually the CAPS LOCK key can be turned on and off by pressing the same button once more.
If this isn't possible, I'm afraid that this could be a hardware problem m.

But new Toshiba notebook s supports the special feature called the special function mode key.
This mode allows you to use the FN keys without pressing the FN key extra.

I put t know if this mode may affect the functionality of the CAPS LOCK, but its worth a check.

However, I would recommend you to connect external keyboard and check if the same problems of CAPS LOCK would appear. In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem of LOCKING of UPPER is related to malfunction internal keyboard.
