Satellite L750D - Toshiba downgraded the BIOS with an 'update '?

I just bought my L750D Satellite a few weeks ago and was motivated by additives of Toshiba to update my BIOS. When I did, he said the current version is 1.50 and it has been 'upgraded' to 1.40.

Is this mean Toshiba downgraded my BIOS?

If so, should I find a 1.50 download link and re - install this version?

Thanks for your help.

Hello

    Please help me.

I bought a brand new toshiba Satellite A200 series laptop with vista home premimum inside.

For some reason, I'm not a fan of big vista.
So I lowered my XP OS and as I was looking for pilots and all this for XP I saw an update of the Bios for my laptop it's 5.20 which was for XP. Although for Vista its 2.40 as per mentioned on the Web site.

    Now where my problems began.
I downloaded this v5.20 bios and updated.
Soon the problems began as laptop is overheated, it freezes and sometimes refuse to give performance.

As I was unable to find all my drivers for XP I switched to Vista using my recovery DVDs. But the problem remains the same with Vista too, so finally, I took my laptop to a Toshiba Service Center.

They have said that it is a motherboard problem so they fixed, but they have not set the Bios.
I still v5.20 on my machine.

I tried to go down to v2.40 but it always shows an error.

Can someone help me pls... I am able to boot with a USB but I don't have a version of DOS of Bios v2.40.

Please if anyone can provide me with my version of the bios.
I'll be grateful to her for ever.

    Here are my system specs.

    Date 2009-01-26 03:04:19

    [Information on PC]
    Model name Satellite A200
    Part number PSAFCL-01M00P

Not even this when I buyed the laptop he showed me 749 something like a shared graphics memory now it shows only about 399.

I know that it is simply because of this update of the Bios.
Now I am not yet able to play good games.
This machine is almost useless for me now.

No help from you people will get.

I put t know why you want to downgrade the BIOS.
Have you read the information on the site of Toshiba for BIOS version 5.20? I created this:
    > Support Windows XP and Vista OS

So I think that you should not downgrade the BIOS. The most recent BIOS 5.20 is for Windows XP and Vista.
You can find this information on Toshiba Asia because you have the model of Asia (not Europe):
    http://www.PC.Toshiba-Asia.com =>
Update BIOS version 5.20 Satellite A200 (for the PSAF0-* & PSAFC *-* ONLY)

The Toshiba Service Center did a good job with the latest BIOS.

  • What is a cheapest Toshiba laptop with PXE in the Bios with the XP support

I am a reseller of Toshiba.
A client asked me this question, and I was hoping someone here could help me answer:

    > What is the cheapest Toshiba laptop which has PXE in the bios with XPP?

Customer is downgraded to XPP, looking for a low cost which will always start LAN laptop. Good that now they buy the L300 and indicated they are not PXE bios. Any ideas to what series of portable Tosh they must migrate?

    Thank you
    -Alan

    Hello

PXE means that you might be able to boot from a local network.
AFAIK all laptop Toshiba supports this option.

But most laptops are pre-installed with Win Vista and delivered with Win Vista.
Some professional laptops come with a second disc that allows to downgrade the laptop to Win XP.
But these professional laptops are not cheap.

    Thank you, Daniel

    Hello!

Flashing the BIOS with an equal or older version is not possible. Therefore, you must go to an authorized service provider.
Technicians can relfash with a same or older version.

If you don't know where is the nearest ASP you should look on the Toshiba site. There you can search for it.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAE6) - I want to downgrade the BIOS

Hello and sorry for my bad English (I'm french nobody's perfect ^^)

I want to downgrade BIOS because since I install 2.6 on Vista 64, I have a lot of freeze (PC freeze 30 seconds each about 5 minutes). After updating the BIOS, I don't have this problem.

So if you know where I can download version 2.5 or 2.4 BIOS, you save me the life.

Thank you very much and excuse my English again.

    Hello

    > After update BIOS, I don't have this problem.
And why you want to downgrade the BIOS?
Sorry, but it's a little confusing.

Anyway, a BIOS upgrade peut t be done. As far as I know that this can only be done from an authorized service provider.
Contact the nearest, explain the situation and technicians will help you.

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Tecra S11 - boring CPU

I have a BIOS that is "solve" the problem of high pitched noise high on the i5 CPU.
But I have the latest version of the BIOS and since then I can not downgrade to the older BIOS which allows to "solve" the problem.

    * My question is how do I get the BIOS? *
Because I send my Toshiba to RMA more because they will not fix it!

My Tecra S11 went to RMA 2 × and 2 different authorized Toshiba service approximately 1 month partner. None of them repaired my laptop! More annoying is that the Hungarian services are absolute useless! I have a 2 year problem, with the high pitched noise high CPU.

They have not replaced the defective processor, they replaced the motherboard! for no reason. OMG!
Be very careful when you buy PC Toshiba laptop in Hungary and is not due to lack of the Toshiba but authorized service partners!

    Please, Toshiba do something!

    Hello

Why do you think that CPU must be replaced?
I guess that the technicians ran some diagnostic tests which can detect defective parts, I guess the CPU was not affected, but the real question was the motherboard (because it was replaced).

However, what s your problem exactly?
Why you want to downgrade the BIOS?

  • Maybe it's to rewrite the BIOS with crisis recovery mode?

    Hey everybody,

my laptop 'freezes' during BIOS 'PHOENIX' updated 2 years ago.
SERVICE told to change the motherboard, the price as new pc, so I bought new laptop.

I keep looking at the toshiba forum always, so I read a lot of information on the MODE of RECOVERY from CRISIS.
so I tried to check my laptop died after 2 years.

My satellite M100 starts in crisis recovery mode Fn + B.
my laptop starts up to CRISIS MODE, but do not read the USB STICK
I did the flash with the CRISDISK 1.0.0.4 USB key program, but I'm not sure I did it way right!

    My question is:
is it really possible to REWRITE the bios with crisis recovery mode, where I can read more information on how to do it.

    I want back my M100 :)))

    Hey,.

As Akuma writes that you should try a USB FDD instead a USB key. Key USB is supported only on new models of laptops, but as far as I know USB FDD will be always supported.

In any case, just for your information: you should know what you're doing. It is a delicate and risky procedure and in the worst cases you might destroy the whole ROM module but if you already have a new laptop I think that it s a problem for you. ;)

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Portege Z30 - B?

    Hi all

I updated the BIOS on my laptop Z30-B-119, and it is much worse than the original BIOS, so I want to downgrade it.
There is no way to save the original BIOS during the update and the previous BIOS is not available on the site.

Someone has the original BIOS and knows how to extract?

Maybe someone knows how to contact Toshiba technical team directly? (Don't see what they have implemented in new BIOS, I have no hope they read on this forum or user opinions).

If you're wondering why I want to downgrade and what's wrong with him, see below for an explanation.

I was convinced that the new BIOS might resolve the problem with the fan, which works well too early, but it turned out they made much worse! The fan will now light at 42 °. Seized 50 °, which was already a Toshiba engineers stupid choice, provided that the side of the CPU temperature is 105 °, so that they could keep the laptop quiet at least until 60 °, especially as many people's complaint of the fan in this model. Instead, Toshiba has done the opposite and lowered the temperature even more.

How foolish choice their engineers do, I will never buy another Toshiba and will not recommend anyone buy their products. But since I have already made the mistake one bought a Toshiba laptop, I hope that I will be able to downgrade the BIOS or contact them to request an update.

Let me know if you know how to do it.

I want to update the bios on a Satellite M60
the problem is that I can't access either on my hard drive it still reboot

So, first I want to try to update my Bios but as I can't work with windos XP I need to do it with a Dos command.

is there any solution for this?

    Thank you very much

and why you want to update the BIOS?

Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should work well and should start the Windows operating system.
This means that the problem with your laptop is unrelated to the old version of the BIOS.

Have you tried to check the HARD drive or to reinstall Win XP?

  • Tecra A10 - cannot change the settings of the BIOS with supervisor password enabled

    Hello
I activated a supervisor for 1.50 acpi BIOS password.

Since then, I am not able to change the settings (for example etc. - the right of the screen of the BIOS boot order does no more).
I access the bios with pressing ESC on the boot process, then F1 when prompted "" check system, then press [F1] key. Problem is that I don't ask the supervisor password.
There should be a prompt for the supervisor password, but it's not. So I am not able to connect as a supervisor.
I know I can manually change the boot sequence by pressing F12 during startup, but this strict solve my problem.

Have you tried to update the BIOS? On the Toshiba site, I can find a newer version that you have right now. Check it!

Before setting a supervisor password load default settings in the BIOS and then you can set the password and try again. Maybe it works.

Hi, I just bought a laptop from HP 15 f024-wm.  It runs 8.1 64-bit Windows. Intel Pentium 3520 N.   The problem I have is that I've recently updated my bios to f.13 and now my keyboard skips letters. Everything was going well until I did this upgrade of bios, how can I downgrade to the original version? I tried the key windows + B thing and she does not see a black screen while my caps lock key blinks twice.  It drives me crazy... If anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

    Hi @vincentd1215 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I understand you want to restore the default values of the BIOS. You can restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings or rollback. Restore default BIOS is necessary, if it does not give you the possibility of restoration.

Hope this is what you need.

    Thank you.

  • E531 update the Bios with WIndows 10 installed?

Is it possible to update the BIOS with 10 Windows installed on E531?

    I don't see W7, W8, and XP

Yet once, have solved this problem, I thought I would share with others who may have the same or similar issues.

I was able to update the BIOS on my Windows 10 install with upgrade download BIOS in Windows 8. Simply install as you normally would, and be patient for the machine to install. Installation BIOS itself is a little funky; I saw the screen go completely white for a while without message about progress or anything like that. But ultimately it ends and works well.
