Satellite L500 - black dots on screen

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 - 1UU I bought 4 months back... started to notice black points remaining black around different parts of the screen about 7 of them... they are fixed performances on the whole light especially on white background... told me that they are defective pixels and I make my LCD replaced... Who is covered by the warranty?

Is there a minimum number of defective pixels until they replace the screen?

Hmm generally this should not happen sometimes the laptop could hang somewhere in the standby or hibernation and the mentioned workaround solution might be an option to wake up the unit

  • Satellite L500-13F (PSLJ0E) - wrong screen resolution

I have a problem with resolution in my new laptop Satellite.

This model has monitor 15.6 "and resolution 1366 x 768. In my book since the resolution is 1280 x 800, which means that on my screen, I see a black box on the right side, and I can't see the bottom of the screen. There is no possibility to change the resolution in the graphics options (all available modes are for a 4:3 display and are lower 1280 x 800) - which is strange - the refreshing rate monitor is 58Hz (?).

More strange is that from time to time (for 3 weeks, it happens twice) after the opening of my laptop, the resolution is correct (1366 x 768, 60 Hz and availble are all the other modes), but after the reboot, the resolution is wrong once again - even when starting.

I tried to Flash the BIOS, install new drivers, but the problem remains.

Prayer for all the advice (and sorry for my English)

    Hello

As you say the laptop supports the 15.6 screen "(HD) with 16:9 aspect ratio and native resolution should be 1366 x 768."

I have no idea why your resolution change but eventually it s just a graphics driver issue

  • Satellite L500 verticle lines on screen

There is something seriously wrong with my laptop. I bought this toshiba L500 satellite for my sister a few months ago, and this problem happened since it was purchased. I never discovered the problem until I recently got the laptop for myself. Initially I thought it was something to do with the battery (recently the battery warning came up saying that I needed to replace. He has since disappeared).

For some reason, the screen randomly between wobbly then turn into colored vertical lines. It happens at random intervals so I can't say when it will happen then and it is not serious what I'm doing on the laptop, it is and the only way I can get rid of it is to force the reboot.

The thing I want to know is if it's a major problem or something that can easily be fixed? Warranty will cover it or should I start saving for a new?

    > The thing I want to know is if it's a major problem or something that can easily be fixed?
This could be a serious hardware problem.
Have you noticed the same vein on the external monitor.
If so, these lines could be linked to a faulty graphics chip.
In this case the motherboard must be replaced.

    > Warranty will cover it or should I start saving for a new?
Well, if the warranty is valid, then the laptop must be fixed free of charge.
Generally, the standard warranty is valid 12 months from the date of purchase of long

By the way; Toshiba ASP (authorized service provider) in your country should be able to solve this problem.

  • Satellite L500-1XD - why my screen flashes after fashion watches?

    Hello

After the start from standby mode, the screen is fine for 3 or 4 minutes, and then I notice a fast blink. This becomes worse and worse until I got then to restart the laptop, or put into hibernation and power up again. I tried to gently move the screen to see if the connection is loose, but the screen just keeps blinking like before. The flashing is random, it's like watching the CPU flash light but its my going fullscreen. It seems to happen after the mode 'sleep', it happens every time, but I would say more than 50 percent.

This happened to someone else? I wonder what I should do next, or the contact person. I've only had the laptop in July!

Thank you very much in advance for any advice you can offer.
    Anna

    Hello Anna

Have you noticed this behavior from the first day?
You know, sometimes some Microsoft updates can have a negative influence on the standard functions. For a few months, I noticed a strange situation on my laptop satellite. After sleep, I get a stupid error and mouse is dead. I don't have it in the past.

What you can try is to install the new OS by using the HDD recovery procedure and to test the feature with the factory settings. I am sure that with its own OS preinstalled, everything will be OK. If the problem persists perhaps you should contact the closest service Toshiba.

    Hello

First to solve this problem, you must disassemble the laptop.
I put t know exactly the procedure step by step for the L500 series but this procedure isn't very easy disassembly and you could damage other parts.

    Back to the question.
It seems that the graphics card is OK and the problem is with lighting.
Satellite L500 was equipped with a FL inverter Board and LCD joint (no backlight).
The FL inverter controls the level of backlight screen s and I think that in your case, this part is defective.
To resolve this problem, he needed to remove and replace the s FL inverter.

    Hello

I have a Satellite L500-1XL, when I turn it on the fan and lights and the hard drive light blinks several times then nothing, he's not going to the Toshiba screen remains black screen, tried ext monitor but still nothing.

The fan always runs very quietly and the hard drive is running in, I put the hard drive in an another L500 and it is very good and can be accessed without problem, it has only 1 stick of 2 GB of RAM DDR3 and the other L500 I is DDR2 so I can't try to change the RAM. Hi gazzdowzell,

If your laptop doesn t boot it seems to be a hardware bad working it could be everything, motherboard, BIOS, CPU, etc and it is difficult to say what exactly is the problem.

First of all, I would like to try this:

If it doesn t work, please contact a service provider authorized in your country. If your laptop is under warranty, repairs are free.
In addition if you remove the RAM and the beep of t n for laptop, it seems to be another problem. If you have removed the RAM module would be defective, the computer would have a beep.

  • Satellite L500 - flicker and black screen turns green

Toshiba Satellite L500-screen color problem; White and black green turn turn pink. When the laptop is turned on after a while, the screen back to normal, but just for a second. Then he turns his back to the Green and Pink for black and white color again. The display also flashes.

    Anyone, please help me.

    Hello

Theoretically the two parties may be affected: Notebok display or graphic card itself.

Way simpler to check that connects to an external monitor. If the external monitor is ok, the graphics card is affected. Otherwise, the screen of the laptop must be exchanged.

Is your laptop still under warranty?

  • Satellite L500 starts, allows me to connect, and then the screen goes black

I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite L500.

As I am a student in high school, it was a huge and very expensive purchase for me.
I previously had a Toshiba that served me extremely well, so I was ready to buy a new one, but now I have a problem with it.
I have a L5000 with operating system Windows 7 Professional.

Notepad starts end, showing the Welcome screen and allowing me to enter my password, but once the password is accepted, and disappears from the Welcome screen, I find myself with a black screen showing only my mouse pointer.

If I enter CTRL + ALT + DELETE, the Task Manager becomes visible, but I don't see nothing else UNLESS I select 'explorer' under the processes tab and end process, then re-run the Explorer - then only the home screen becomes visible.

It's a new laptop - Needless to say I don't want to have to do this every time I turn it on. I should try to restore factory default?
I'm usually very proficient with computers, but I don't have enough faith to tinker with it.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Korosuhito,
It sounds like an infection or a misconfiguration.

You can try to start in safe mode and search for services that run maybe you can find the "bad guy".

or (the fastest) is to restore the factory settings
Make sure the bios is on the 'default' as well

I think that you have no personal data on this machine in order to recovery is the most simple and quick way!

It looks like serious problems with the related material to the mobo (vga). You can access Bios at startup, or the display is just dark? External monitor is connected to the laptop?
