Satellite L500D PSLK0A: battery drains approximately 25-30% fully charged

Hey everybody,

I recently bought a Toshiba L500D-PSLK0A and I wonder why the battery drains approximately 25 to 30% after being charged completely.
I charge, plug once its 100% done then closed it down and place it in his laptop bag, then the next morning I turn it on and the battery isn't 100% more.

I rang Toshiba technology support and they said that I should probably try and download the new version of the BIOS.
Where can I find this update of the BIOS? I have trouble finding.

If someone could help, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hey

All updates for your laptop, you can get on the Toshiba site:
http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au/

In addition, you must disable these features in the BIOS if they available on your laptop:
-Wake on LAN
-Wake on keyboard
Sleep - USB & Charge

I hope I could help a bit! :)

It s noting unusual that the battery will lose power if the laptop does not work.
The same thing happens on my old A50.

  • Re: New battery does not work on Satellite L500D PSLK0A

    Hello

    Thanks for helping everyone.

Hope that my problem is simple. I L500D - part PSLK0A-00U009 had this old battery PA3534U-1BAS, which seem to be dead. Bought new battery Toshiba PA3534U-1BRS, which is supposed to be compatible.

Started on mains supply computer laptop, laptop found battery and reported 100% complete.
Computers laptops shutdown and AC pulls out. Dead. Laptop unable to connect with the energy of the battery.
Started new AC and while the laptop computer on I pulled out AC - it was cut. System allows me to change to 'balanced' to 'eco' so I guess the battery is seen.

    Incorrect battery?

    Hello

I think that this problem is related to the new battery.
It s really strange, the system reports a load of 100% battery, even if the battery is connected to the first time usually new batteries are empty and must be loaded for the first time.

So, in my opinion, it's matter of battery.

  • Satellite Pro A210: Battery drains fast access

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro A210 news from Jan. The battery seems if discharge very quickly during normal use so I´d be interested if someone could let me know what kind of life you get from your.

More problematic is that when the left in hibernation it drains the battery in about 36 hours, once again I´d be interested in your experiences.

It seems to load normally so I wonder if the pc is attractive more current than it should. I spotted a wire on the basis of knowledge of Toshiba which mentioned Wake on Lan, causing similar problems recommend have disabled in bios, I checked and it is turned off.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Andy

    Hello

generally, the battery should last about 2 hours (surfing, writing, etc.). I mean it depends of many factors such as:

    1 powersaving settings
    2. applications from running
    3 execution of application
    4. connected devices (such as USB - HDD, etc...)

regarding the Hibernate: this is normal. What did YOU expect?
It would also be great if you could tell me how long your machine usually in battery mode works... would be really useful ;)

    See you soon

  • Satellite P750 - unusual battery drain so that disabled

    Hi all

Last week, I acquired a Satellite P750 - 02L and have noticed a little problem

I have not used my laptop for a good 4 days, for which he was leaving it unplugged (as I was still pulling around with me in my purse). However, I can confirm that the computer was not sleep nor hiberating, and no light façade have been turned on/flashing. Also, I can confirm that I turned off "Wake on lan" in THE system BIOS

And when initially, I unplugged the laptop, the battery light was white-ish color, yet during the 4 days, the laptop has a dead battery,

    any ideas?

    Hey Buddy,

It is normal that battery loses power during the night, up to 5% is possible only depending on me. So it s not unusual or a bug:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ9C012L0001R01.htm

Next to Wake up on LAN you must also turn off Wake on keyboard, USB Sleep & Charge up and sleep music if your computer supports these options in the BIOS. If so try to disable all the.

In addition you must recharge the battery 5 - 10 times it reached full capacity.

  • Satellite L500D PSLK0A does not start after the Bios Update

I've had trouble with an "(ne répond pas) error ' while I was on IE8, so I looked up a few forums that all suggested I go to the manufacturers website and update the drivers for my computer."

So I logged on the site of Toshiba Australia, put in all my details model numbers and a list of updates came.
    Great, I thought.

1 was an upgrade of the Bios, so I clicked on the link and let the machine do its thing.
Now I can't start my machine.

How can I fix it? Can I downgrade my bios to what it was?

    Thank you

    Hello

If your laptop isn't the answer (I mean you won't see anything on the screen) then this means that your updates to the BIOS in the wrong way.
This means the module ROM BIOS was flashed note correctly.

In this case, you will need professional help to an ASP in your country.

    Good luck

  • Motorcycle battery drain 360 while on the charging cradle

Everyone knows the same? Since the last update, I was unable to load my bike 360 while it is on the cradle. Some days, I'll come home with about 35% battery life left, but in the morning, I find that it actually drains. I woke up with battery having dropped to 1%. While watching on the cradle, I actually saw the percentage decline.

It's only later on that I realized it is empty because it is still connected to my phone (which never used to happen). If I disconnect the phone from the watch, that it charges on the cradle normally.

I really don't want to have to manually disconnect my phone the watch every night, and then reconnect it back every morning.

Sorry for the late update. I thought that I would say that I found the which has been the cause: a renegade app ironically designed to track the bike 360 battery statistics. I noticed that after that the app has been updated, the question no longer appears. The device is always hot sometimes when we recharge but will still charge.

    Thank you, everyone, for help!

  • Satellite L500D - high all the time CPU usage

    Hi guys,.

help a friend with a laptop, the thing was really slow had vista on it, so formatted and installed win7 x 64. It's a toshiba satellite l500d-pslk0a-00r009. Dual core 2.2 ghz. 4 GB RAM. (did a new install not updated)

Even on an installation of vanilla, just running windows only update is trolling the heck out of him. CPU is sitting at 100%, but looking at the process that they all sit at zero. I can't see what process is the cause.

Web browser opening is really offbeat it will freeze and say does not then come back after some time.

temperatures are good (50deg C). Power profile is very good. Even turned off all the animations. always the same question.

RAM usage is less than 20%.

There is certainly a problem with the CPU, I ran the windows performance index, all rated in the Middle 4 except the CPU that qualified 2.0!

I've updated all the drivers etc. What else can I try and do to solve the problem of cpu?

    Hello

Try this: go into Device Manager and expand the entry processor and remove all entries from the CPU. Reboot the laptop.
After that the windows system should recognize the entries deleted once more.

After that I recommend you to check if the CPU performance.

  • Re: Satellite L500D - boot problem after BIOS update

I downloaded the new version of BIOS (v1.4) official Toshiba site to update my computer Satellite L500D (PSLK0A - 00U009). But after the update, Windows 7 cannot start, Windows logo appears for a while then it restarts automatically. Windows then goes into repair mode. I followed the instructions on the screen to fix. But it does not work.
When I reinstalled Windows, the computer worked fine until Windows Update told me to restart the computer. The computer dies again.

I think that this version of BIOS has a problem. I wonder if there is a way to downgrade the BIOS to the earlier version. I found some instructions on the net to use the Phoenix recovery disk, but I have no file disk and BIOS.
    Please Please HELP, very appreciate.

    TKS

Try to install the OS to help original Toshiba recovery image. After disabling automatic Microsoft updates to install. When you get the message about controlled initially available updates and install important updates only.

Check it once more to see if the same thing will happen again. Display the results.

  • fully charged iphone 5 c goes down, low battery will appear

My two year iphone, 5 c (version 5.3) keeps crashing and showing the screen low battery even if it is fully charged. Then it becomes unresponsive until the phone is plugged into the charger. It will load once connected, but any application that I use it will crash once I have unplug the unit. I can't even recalibrate the battery because it will crash at 90%, 77% etc before I can completely drain the battery. It has been like this for more than a week. Quite annoying when it happens during important calls.

I deleted the apps I used in each accident. I made a simple reboot and a forced restart. I even reset all settings and none of it worked. Today, I downloaded the 9.3.1 update ios hoping he can solve this problem, but no luck. Is it a hardware problem or software? My phone is out of warranty, so I would really any help that might prevent me from having to go to the apple store.

You can try the recovery mode. If your problem is software partner, who will most likely fix it. If not, try again, but set your phone as new. If the recovery mode does not solve your problem, you can try the DFU mode. If none of them work for you, it is probably a hardware problem.

  • the power cable must be plugged or removed after fully charging the battery?

Is there a problem with do not remove the power cable, after that the battery is fully charged on the Alien ware M17XR4?. In other words do fine even if the power cable is not disconnected once the battery is fully charged on the M17XR4?. Advice needed please.

Most of the Lithium batteries are 'Smart Batteries' these days. It is a smart charging circuit.

These means that they can detect when they are fully charged and continues to load (for some reason, so they do not over heat or explode).

You can see in Windows that battery knows when she is fully charged (and cargo stops).

However, I still like to bike (or run on battery... up to 30% or more) at least twice a month.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 H 2-1 hour battery drains

    Hello

    I bought a new Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 H 2 2-3 weeks. Sound obtained by T5440 Core3Duo, 2 GB of RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600GT 256 dedicated (up to 1025 with turbomemory).
I am aware that I got a fairly good CPU and GPU and they cost power.

But is this normal when POWER safe mode on my battery drains completely in a little more than 1 hour?

    Elwin

    Hello

Battery working time depends on the use of the laptop!
But as far as I know the A200 runs approximately 1.15 hours on battery

In addition, the laptop came with a standard battery.
If you need more power, you should buy a stronger battery with 6000mAh or higher.

  • Satellite L500D - what type of housing is under the battery?

I found a place (I think it's the memory) under the battery in my satellite L500D. What type of housing is it? (It looks like a MicroSD card, but sign says: this is the crack of WIS - I searched but I did find what this means)

It works in my laptop, or is it for other models?

    Hello

Memory locations are placed near the Bay of dough.
But the slots are not placed under the battery.
It would be interesting to see the location on the image.

As far as I know that the laptop does not support 3G so I n t think that there is a slot for a card 3G.

Of course, the laptop supports a Bridge Media slot that handles the card SD, SDHC Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard, but this machine in under is placed on the in front of the laptop.

  • Satellite battery drain click Mini L9W - B

    Hi all

Since the 1.70 BIOS update I noticed a couple battery draining.
I left the unit with the lid closed for 12 hours and the battery charge has dropped from 20% to 3% only.
I also noticed the two batteries give max 5-6 hours compared to what has been 10 to 12.

If anyone else has noticed this?

    Thank you

I left the unit with the lid closed for 12 hours

Cover does not mean that the unit is turned off completely.
If you turn the power off, you will need to perform a full stop as described in this paper to Toshiba.
