  • Satellite L505 - 10K - recovery disk contains only Windows 7 32-bit

    Hello, I have a question.

I bought a Satellite L505 - 10 k a month ago. It came with Windows 7 x 64, 3 partitions (I don't know why, 3? seriously?). I tried to install Linux, delete the last partition, called 'Data' and I screw them completely. I used the recovery DVDs to bring the phone to default settings and I discovered the system recover is Windows 7 x 32.

No idea why the systems are different?

It's just a minor issue, I guess, the only bad thing is that the x 32 system recognizes not the 4 GB of RAM. I use now only 3 GB of RAM.

    Hi Cabo_Nobbdy,

I think you should check your user manual and the specificaitions of your laptop first before starting a question. I founded the following information:
    + Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery) and Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit (Toshiba-Recovery DVD) +.

This means that the recovery for Windows 7 64-bit disk, you need to create by * you *!
The DVD that came with your laptop recovery contains only 32-bit Windows 7, and normally, you can create the recovery disk using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. I put t understand why you didn't do it because after the first start, you get this message:
    + Important INFORMATION +.

+ your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair.
+ your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly.

But now it s too late for that and you have to order a new Toshiba recovery disc yourself:

  • Can I go through Satellite Pro 4300 with disk HARD mk8032GAX?

Hello and thanks in advance. The question is: can I upgrade the hdd by default in satellite pro 4300 with mk8032GAX model?

    (Sorry for my English)

    Concerning

The question is whether the laptop and the BIOS is able to manage the size of the HARD drive.
The mk8032GAX is a 80 GB, 2.5 HARD disk at 5400 RPM and 8 MB cache.

I discovered that this laptop supports these drives:
    5,59 GB Toshiba MK6414MAP, Toshiba MK6411MAT
    11.2 GB Toshiba MK1214GAP
    16.9 GB Toshiba MK1814GAV

Perhaps also a 30 GB might be compatible, but to be 100% sure, a test is necessary.

  • Satellite L505-141 - recovery disk contains Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello

I bought my computer in the year around March last. I had with laptop computer operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Lately I think the format of my laptop using the recovery CD that I have receviced with the laptop. I don't know why, but the recovery CD Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit! Why its not 64-bit and 32-bit?

The laptop comes with 6 GB of Ram and Core i5 and I won't enjoy my laptop with 32-bit operating system. Is this normal? I was suppose to get the 32-bit operating system (really wired if you a laptop with 6 GB of memory). This really makes me feel angry. I feel that I have been cheated.

If ts the company I bought the laptop in and not the fault of Toshiba, I ask and investigation or something like that since they really make a bad name for you guys.

Please answer me as soon as possible.

    Andrei Braunstein.

    Hello

Before you wrote things that are not correct, please first check the specs on the Web from Toshiba site and take a look at your * user manual *!

The laptop comes with a recovery disk which is Windows 7 32 bit, so everything is ok with this disc and you got the right pair.

The interesting point is that the recovery disc for Windows 7 64-bit, you must create yourself such as mentioned in * user manual *! You can create this disk preinstalled use Toshiba recovery media creator. You need blank DVDs to create discs and that s all. After that do what you can to restore the preinstalled Windows 7 64 bit every time when you want to.

Now it s too late to do that, but you can order a recovery disc here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

I can understand you he would do better to use Windows 64 bit on a laptop with 6 GB of RAM but don t forget some old don t on 64-bit applications and 32 bit necessary. In addition I m wondering you n t saw a message that reminds you to create the recovery disk. This message that you get after you first start your computer:

I have this Toshiba satellite L505-s5990 with windows 7 32-bit and intel core 2duo t6500 and I think that I cheated, well I don think, I was mistaken, because when I buy first told me it has ddr3 ram and there no, also told me that I could add more RAM, because it might be expandable up to 8 GB of ram, because there just 3 when I bought and which I have now doubt, well, you might wonder why I do not do something like back or something like that, well the reason is that, at the point where I noticed that it was already too late (warranty and return policy) had expired already, I didn't know anything this either on the computers, of course, so now I'm stuck with it and I guess all I can do is upgraded to what I want if possible lol! Wow.  All this without breathing a lot and you do not use Google? * smile * you should really get in GOOGLE.

    You have this laptop:
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/retail-product.jsp?poid=452314

You can easily get up to 8 GB of memory MATERIAL:
    http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/satellite+L505+series/satellite+L505-S5990-upgrades.html

Beyond that - well - what EDITION of Windows 7 do you have?  You have given version (Windows 7) and architecture (32-bit) but not editing (home edition Premium, etc.)

In the end - it won't matter much if Windows 7 32-bit came pre-installed.  Despite the ability of the machine to have 8 GB memory installed and the material see - the 32-bit version of Windows 7 you have is not going to use it somehow.  Somewhere between 3 and 4 GB is the most he'll see/use/give you access to.  It is the nature of the beast.

Also - if it came pre-installed you can just use your product key, download Windows 7 64 bits _ and install - because the OEM for Windows 7 licenses does not work like that.  You bought Windows 7 32-bit OEM and that's all you get.  Sales in the RETAIL of WIndows 7 license would have given you the ability to change as often as you wish between 32-bit and 64-bit.

Where did put you?  Well in my digging around, I'm fairly certain that you pretty much exactly what I linked to the first.  Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit, 3 GB memory, processor 2.1 GHz dual core...  You can probably do a little now - virtualization might need to turn on a few things in the BIOS to really enjoy it - but it would work probably right now.  Take the free VirtualBox there and install the OS you want ot - but you probably will have to be rare on how much memory you give virtual machine (1, maybe 1.5 GB at max.)

If you are looking to improve more...  You will probably need to invest in:

-Windows 7 Professional or edition full 64-bit
-the 8 GB memory referenced above
-a larger and faster disk hard

After that - well, it's a laptop.  Reality of what you can do starting to settle in.  The above improvements would cost you somewhere (from) about 350 USD.  Your Dual Core processor will probably hinder things - how - investment as a whole better system would be wiser.

  • Satellite L505-141 - Purchas of recovery disk

    Hi guys,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505-141 (Ser: 3A027302K), but unfortunately he had a problem and my broken hard drive.
I have change the drive hard and after that, I realized that I have my restore disk as well.

I found that I can order the CD by (https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/) but this site is to ship it in Europe and at the moment I'm living in Australia. In the billing details, I can't choose the Australia.

So, my question is if it is possible I can upload an image (by buying of course)?
If not, how I can put in place a delivery address in Australia?

    Thanks in advance

    > So my question is if it is possible I can upload an image (by buying of course)?
Now, to my knowledge it of not possible to download the recovery image

    > If not how I can put in place a delivery address in Australia?
I think the delivery in regions other than Europe isn't possible and I think that the European disc of recovery for laptops models cannot be operated outside of Europe.

  • Satellite L505-10z - Win 7 tools are not compatible with Win 8

My laptop is Satellite L505-10z. I installed Windows 8 Pro and I noticed that many drivers (especially PVAT) I downloaded at Toshiba support site Web (which are originally for Windows 7) doesn't work do not! When Toshiba released drivers for Windows 8? My model will be included in the driver updates?

    Thank you

    > downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba support (which are originally for Windows 7) works not!

Win 7 tools and utilities are made for Win 7 and Win No 8

    > When Toshiba released drivers for Windows 8? My model will be included in the driver updates?
I think you should ask Toshiba. It is a user community.
But I think that Toshiba would begin with driver support if Win 8 would be OFFICIALLY available on the market.

  • Satellite L505 - it come with disc of Windows 7 64 bit or 32 bit?

I had a computer Satellite L505 with * preinstalled * version Windows 7 64-bit and a 32-bit product recovery disc. I didn't create a backup of a 64-bit version and reinstalled the system since the provided 32-bit recovery disc erase my HD. However, I would like to reinstall the verision of 64-bit Windows 7. I know I can order a backup media on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/ but it says not version (64-bit or 32-bit) wich are mailed directly to me.

If I check the description of the model on the Toshiba page, it says that it comes with the 64-bit version and includes the 32-bit recovery disc. This description still leaves me a question what backup media I'd get Toshiba. I have to be sure that I get the 64-bit WIndows 7 until I have order a.

I'd appreciate a confimation. Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

I think everything is ok and there is no open question. The description on the Toshiba site says it all: the laptop comes with the 64-bit Windows 7 version, which means that this version is preinstalled on your computer. Additional, you get a version 32-bit on a recovery disc and that s all!

So you didn't burn the 64-bit recovery disc, which means you must order a new one from Toshiba. I guess you will get versions then 32-bit and 64-bit.

Could be the cable? or it is not possible?

    Help!

    Thank you!

    This isn t possible.
You can use an external and an internal display.

If you want to use 2 external monitors at the same time, you must use a device extra something like Dynadock

    Hello

If the laptop can not be recovered using the recovery disc, then it feels the hardware problem.
Are you sure that your recovery disc is OK?
Have you tried to install the OS using another installation disc?

Perhaps it would be useful to check if the problem could be related to defective recovery disk, but if the BSOD (blue screen of death) appeared before the installation of the OS, I would say that the problem can be caused by an internal hardware malfunction

It would be necessary to check the modules of RAM and HARD drive.
HARD drive can be verified by using the diagnostic software from disk as Drive Fitness Test (freeware)

RAM could be checked with a tool like memtest, but you need a system to market, then in this case, you can not check the RAM using a software that I recommend to remove a module and test the laptop using a module in each slot
