Satellite L50D-B-131 - several problems: touchpad, keyboard, internet

Hi all!

I've had my laptop for a while, but I never really had time to take care of the problems accompanying.

Since I'm away, all the way in July, my touchpad doesn't work properly.
As simple as that. It would work for a few seconds at the start, then it would just get stuck in scroll mode.

My keyboard sometimes just stops working after a long while of using my laptop.

When my laptop turns off after that I'm away from keyboard, then back on, the screen is black.
Whenever I need to shut it down, and yet it in standby mode, and then reopen it so that screen to display everything.

I have no idea why, also, but all three of my Explorers are very bugs. Chrome, Mozilla and IE.
My videos just stop at random, to recharge and refresh with much less good quality.
They like to close no reason too. When I'm browsing a simple page like Facebook, I have framerate problems, I can't scroll correctly because when I do, I find myself skipping sections because it is this stroller.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

Guess what?
It is hard to believe that all these questions would be related to a general problem.

For example internet explore described making sounds to me like a slow internet connection. Internet browsers are probably not able to load all the video data (probably in HD resolution) and, therefore, the video starts to play using lower resolution.

The touchpad supports some additional features that can be configured in the settings of the MOMENTUM. (Control Panel-> mouse-> momentum settings on the last tab)
If you n t use all the features of the touchpad, I recommend you to disable the options in the configuration menu momentum.

Some sound issues too as the system should be locked for a short time.
Why? I m not quite made sure that, but maybe some application, run in the background and lock the system for awhile.

I m wondering if you already tried to retrieve the laptop back to factory settings.
If not; Give it a try. Your comments would be appreciated.

I have a problem with the original wireless card because it is of poor quality and I decided to replace it with a better. I bought an intel 7265ngw BN. After having mounted the laptop detects the bluetooth and it works fine, but the wireless part does not work and gives me error device cannot start. (Code 10). who can tell me whether or not this wireless card is compatible with my laptop? Thanks in advance

  • Satellite A500-18R - several problems

    Hello everyone.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A500-18R (Windows 7 64 - bits) in January. During the first half of the year do not use it too, but in these last 3-4 months that I have experience several problems. I would like to know if anyone has experienced the same thing and also can help me:

    # When I turn off wifi antenna of the switch on the front of the laptop and afert I turn on again, if I'm trying to find a wireless network Windows tells me that the wireless feature is not active (I have to go to the control panel to reset the device)
    # When I play music from Windows Media Player, Winamp, Traktor... music sounds like 'idle '. I even tried plugging my (ESI U46 XL) external USB sound card, and the result is the same...
    # The laptop battery is consumed even turns off. I had many laptops and it never happened...
    # When I try to burn a blank CD, most of the time it does not recognize the drive as empty. I know that this is not a strange event, but I tested with many brands and acknowledged only very few (I think is not normal)
    # A another problem with DVD/CD player is that does not recognize me some original CD. The last problem I've had with a driver CD for my (unrecognized) external sound card.

My laptop is still on warranty, but I would like to know if anyone has experienced some of that delivers or if the drivers update can fix.

Thank you very much and sorry for my English is not very good.

    Hi Fran

Please tell us if this Win7 is your own installation, or you guessed it with your laptop?

    I'll try to provide answers:
    # When you switch WLAN on, always check if the WLAN led is enabled. You can leave the WLAN switch on position and turn the WLAN MODULE by using the FN + F8 key combination
    # This phenomenon is not known to me, but what you can try is to check for his newest driver.
    # It is normal that, on the stack of the night, loses the ability a bit. If you leave for a longer period it can lose up to 25% of its capacity. No reason to panic.
    # I put t know what burning software do you use and what you do exactly. It is not easy to say what the problem is here.
    # some CDs is pretty General and statement not very good basis for the discussion. Which CD? Music CD, software CD? It may be that they are of poor quality and may not be readable. It is not possible to provide a precise answer to this.

If you have a friend with very good PC knowledge to put your laptop in front of him and he let see what happens exactly.

On this virtual path is not so easy to give accurate answers.

  • Satellite A500 / big problem with keyboard

Hello everyone, first sorry for my English, I'm French!

Anyway, since 2 days now my Satellite A500 has a big keyboard problem and I don't know how to fix it. I used it as usually, just cleaned each week arriving at work with a simple cloth and after starting my computer, when I started typing, I realized that the keyboard has disappeared as a "madman".

Some keys are reversed, others like the space bar just doesn't work anymore, capslock button now unlock with the key has and another example, when I press D writes 'CD' and other stuff like that. It is simply impossible to type correctly. I'm running on Windows 7, I have the first test to look for any kinf of viruses, vain, so I formatted my hard drive, reinstalled Windows 7, then after I did the update to the Bios and now everything is clear and clean, but the keyboard problem is still there.

The fact is that I have this laptop since August 2009 and my warranty no longer applies, so before I should send my computer to any computer repair store I want to know if it's really a problem of keyboard/equipment which can be fixed, "softwarely" or if there is always some kind of alternative for me.

Thanks to all for your future responses.

    Hello

    Crazy keyboard?
Hmm. Don t think that it s software or related bios looks more keyboard problem.
You can try to plug an external USB keyboard to check if the problem would be also available
If it s not available using the external USB keyboard, then it s internal problem of keyboard and the part needs to be replaced.

Keyboard replacement is not difficult. The keyboard is secured by two or three screws that are hidden under the cover of thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons.
Remove the plastic cover, remove the screws, lift the keyboard, disconnect the cable (notice, two tiny locks on the connector needs to be moved).
Then, you would be able to remove the cable of the flat keyboard which is connected to the mobo.

But if you have no experience, then you this replacement must be done by laptop computer technician.

    Welcome them

  • Problem with keyboard on the Satellite C850-F0202.

    Hello

I need urgent assistance on the keyboard of my C850-F0202.
Without warning, the keyboard went without object.

The only bit which seem to be affected are the shortcut keys for brightness(f2-f3), toggle (f12) wireless as well as those of the volume(f9-f10). In addition, the 'NUM LOCK' light during the restart.

I made several suggestions and recommendations-system restore, uninstall the keyboard driver and reboot system, etc--all without success.
In one of the occasions where I tried the system restore, I got an error message: critics of the process is dead.
All attempts to "System Restore" ended without success.

I am amazed, bar this problem keyboard, everything seems to work very well; start is smooth, no fuss.
I'm at my wits end, I need more positive assistance.

    Please help, thanks!

NB: Operating system: windows pro 8.1.

    Hello

My personal opinion, you should check if this problem could be related to problem internal keyboard or keyboard controller.
Connect the external USB keyboard and check if it will not work correctly.

In case the connected USB keyboard will work not correctly, the problem is must be linked to the internal keyboard failure. To solve the problem, you must replace the internal keyboard.

  • Problem starting on Satellite L50D-B - 14 p

    Hello.

    I have a satellite L50D-B - 14 p who is only 7 months and 3rd repair.
The question this time is lights up when I press power button, the fan in the ceiling kicking is on, blocking numbers light is on but nothing else.

I tried several times but the result is the same.
I called the support line which has pushed me the power button / stop for 30 seconds, but still nothing.

Does anyone have an ideas as curries trying to say it is a software and is not covered.

    Hello

You may need to remove the AC adapter and the battery. Press in and hold the power button long 30-40 sec. Repeat 4 or 5 times in the line.
In the case where the laptop will power not yet, contact the authorized Toshiba maintainer for verification of material Diagnostics.

If the unit is under warranty, it should be to fix hardware issues for free.

  • Problem with keyboard on Satellite L500-128

    Hi all

I'm having some problems with the keyboard on my Satellite L500-128 - essentially; 8, 9, i, o, k, l and comma and period keys do not work.

All other keys are working perfectly fine (I use an external keyboard if people wonder!)

I'm technically minded but I was wondering if its worth disassemble the laptop and have one eye or if someone has had this problem with this laptop before - or if someone has any ideas with what he could fix.

I tried to do a reset of the laptop (battery and pressing power button) I reinstalled the operating system, but the keyboard still has problems in the BIOS too.

    Hello

In my opinion and as suggested by Liam, it looks like a simple keyboard malfunction and to solve this problem, the keyboard needs to be replaced.

The Toshiba service in your country partner could replace the defective
Otherwise, you could try to replace it yourself, but if you are a beginner and if you have no experience, ask a support technician.

  • Pavilion: Pavilion x 360 problems of keyboard and screen

    I'm the unhappy owner of a x 360 Pavilion, prod. lol M9G20EA #UUW.

    Big questions:

    1. About half of the time the screen is upside down when I opened the PC. Sometimes closing and by reopening bypasses the screen. Sometimes a reboot is required.
    2. The hardware keyboard and the touchpad randomly is disabled. A full restart is necessary for reactivation.

The machine is working. The service company argues that were without material errors, and restored the operating system to windows 8 - who has not solved the problems.

I see in this forum a lot has similar problems with this model. I've tried every suggestion I could find here. Onfortunately it did not help.

Just for the follow-up of this: HP transferred my "case" in Danish support, who contacted me by phone and loved very much for help me.
I send a few drivers for display, chipset and touchpad, with instructions to install them in a specific order.
Unfortunately, it has not solved the problem.
I was then absent for various during some time and when I went back to using the machine again, there was an update of display driver of app HP Support Assistant unfortunately the autoinstall has failed, but I managed to find the same product on the HP website driver download and install manually from there. I also found a newer version of the chipset driver, which I also installed.
Installation of the required drivers, a lot of tinkering, including the assistance of a third party (provided by HP) to completely remove the old display driver, several restarts in safe mode, etc.
At the time of writing these I have had no problems on keyboard for a while - hoping he disappeared completely. The problem with the screen being upside is still there, but to a much lesser degree. In addition, the orientation sensor seems more sensitive, while just shaking the screen backwards a little wil if he turns in the correct position.
If this will continue to be the situation, I can live with that.
But still: (almost) all that work to make a product works as advertised should not be necessary. It should work out of the box or at least with a quick access, automated driver update.
When I saw a great add to the airport the other day, promising that HP will "continue to reinvent", I couldn't help wishing that they would take a break, in order to ensure that they have already invented is currently working as expected ;-)

  • Low Wi - Fi signal to the new Satellite-L50D-B - 14 p

Recently I bought laptop Toshiba Satellite L50D-B - 14 p and the wifi signal is very very low.

It's always around 2 to 5 bars and maintains signal lossing completely several times per hour.

So I select disconnect and reconnect again.
My previous Toshiba laptop was in the same place in the House and were always five bars and laptop Fujitsu Siemens of my husband is 0.5 m and has also five bars all the time. So there can be no question of router.

The laptop came with the latest drivers. However I have wifi drivers uninstalled and reinstalled one on the site, released in mid-2014. And still the same problem.

I checked for power management and power options all wireless adapter power saving mode is set to "maximum performance".

I have 8.1 Windows which is preinstalled.

    What should I do?
    How to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    > I checked for power management and power options all wireless adapter power saving mode is set to "maximum performance".

Did you put the maximum performance of WiFi in the power station you use?
Y at - it another using the battery power and power supply?

In addition I recommend you to go to the Device Manager? WiFi card? Properties? Advanced tab.
Here you can see the different possibilities such as change the Wlan standard, but also WiFi channels.

Please don't be mad at me but different Wlan modules support different standards and sometimes it can happen that the router Wlan and Wlan module/card don t work properly because of Wlan channels and settings (WPA/WPA2 AES, TKIP) encryption standards.

Last but not least, there could be a problem with the WLan antenna... of course it would be a worst case and this must be checked by an authorized service provider.

  • Satellite L50D-C - marketing questions

I've had my Toshiba Satellite L50D-C since October 19, 2015 and almost day 1, I had problems turning on the laptop in standby mode. I press the power button and the led lights as the num snaps and caps lock lights up. The power light stays on as the num snaps but the light caps lock turns off, then I wait and wait and nothing happens. I found that if I hold down the button for a few seconds, the laptop turns off and then I am able to restart.

I asked questions about the place of purchase and they told me that I have to remove the battery and press the Start button at least 10 seconds, effectively discharging the power as in a flash said me and then I should find the computer laptop mode voltage standby.

I did and it works very well for a few days then the same problems of returns, again, the '' solution '' and there I go again.

While this solves my problem, for a few days, I find it very strange that it is a necessary step should be taken. My husband also has a Toshiba Satellite, although a year or more so than mine, and he has never had this problem.

Is this normal? .. Can it be solved?... under warranty? .. What should I do? .

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

    Lainie

    Hello

I have exactly the same problem, but also find that even after changing my power settings the laptop will cut itself in hibernation/sleep after a period of inactivity. I have to then press the power button, nothing happens except the power light is on, then I have to press the power button for about 5 seconds and then turn it back on again... It's such a pain... I hope someone can help answer these questions on how to fix soon :-(

  • Satellite L50D-C-18J - two modules of RAM but single track only

    Hi all

A few days ago I got the Toshiba Satellite L50D-C-18J with A10 - 8700P AMD processor.

Factory 1 with 8 GB (DDR3L 1600 MHz) memory module are installed. According to various tools (AIDA64, HWInfo64, CPU - Z), the memory will operate at 668 MHz, that is to say 1333 MHz mode.

The free memory slot I have with another 8 GB DDR3L held at 1600 MHz (with the same memory timings, but other manufacturers). The Bank will continue to operate only in single channel mode and not in dual channel mode. The A10 CPU should support.

I have installed the latest version of the BIOS.

We have an idea of how I have the dual-channel mode and can set the frequency of the memory? In the BIOS, there is unfortunately almost no parameter or someone has the same laptop model and with it dual-channel mode is running?

    Thanks and greetings

    Mario

Hello. Another manufacturer is not a problem.
    You should check the following:
    (1) make sure that the two RAM modules operating at 1.35v. Search the Internet, what should be the supply voltage of the RAM you have installed. If this does not work at 1.35v then that's the problem.
    (2) whether these RAM modules supports ECC. If one of your RAM supports ECC and the other is not, that's the problem.

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 17 c. After upgrading the BIOS to the latest version, some of the regional Polish characters do not work.
I'm not sure that just a rootcause is update BIOS, is also possible that other software using the same key combination.

    The keys that work well with alt together: 'e '. « o », « a », « l », « n », « s »
    Key that * does not work * with alt: 'z', 'x', 'c '.

Anyone could help with this problem?

    Thank you very much!

I've read about this problem of keyboard and it seems that this is caused by the BIOS.
Wait for the new update of the BIOS. Keep an eye on the Toshiba Service Station update messages.
Where new BIOS would be available, you should receive an update message.

    Hello

    I recently bought a laptop Satellite L50D-B-12W.

The laptop comes from Italy and im from Spain, but the stock windows installed from the factory was in English.
I change windows stocks for a Spanish 8.1 for Windows Pro 64-bit and the problem starts here.

This medication works well, except the built-in graphics card.
The laptop tells me what the model is AMD APU A6-6310 with graphic AMD Radeon R4 card.

Initially I download graphics drivers web support AMD APU.
I installed and recognizes the cpu but not the graphics card (remaining with the VGA in Windows standard) for videos HD plays with cuts and slowly.

Then I download the autopilots downloand shape AMD and the program downloads the APU A6 drivers but the problem is the same.

I try with Windows 7 64 bit also, but I can't seem to recognize the integrated graphics card.

    Please, can someone help me?
What are the correct drivers I need to download?

    Hello

The Satellite L50D-B-12W was not equipped with a dedicated (external) graphics chip
The L50D-B-12W Satellite was equipped with rolande A6-6310 AMD processor supporting internal graphic unit Radeon R4. This GPU is just a part of the AMD CPUS.
