Satellite L510 shows white screen with a cursor frozen only

{color: #000000} After turning on my Toshiba Satellite L510 the splash screen displays an image, then the pass empty with a cursor frozen in the upper left corner.
I am currently using Windows 7, but the computer will not load in front of the start screen.

I tried to reboot using the F8, safe mode key, but no response from the computer.
I tried to restart using the "F2", but no response from the computer.
I tried to reboot with F12, but no response from the computer.
I tried to use tips from Toshiba Support page, but no response from the computer.
I also tried Ubuntu to start loading system, but there is no response from the computer.

Because there is some personal information on the hard drive that has not been saved, I hesitate to do a system restore in the fear of losing all my data.

Someone had similar problems recently?
Anyone has a good solution to retrieve my personal files and restore the computer to a good working order?
Thank you in advance.

Kind regards
Beautiful {color}

Hey Buddy,

I think that you can't do anything more. In my opinion, you did everything write and now it s time for professional help because it seems to be a malfunction of equipment that should be checked to a service center.

You should contact the guy and ask for help. I think that everything can be clarified with them.

In addition, you can access data from another PC. You only need an external HARD drive enclosure that creates an external HARD drive.
And maybe you can keep the HARD drive at home if the service center don t need.

    Please help with this.

    Hello

According to your message, the screen of the laptop BIOS is visible and also the Windows screen.
I think that it s not a hardware problem but a software problem.
Maybe your operating system is confusing until you think about using the Toshiba Recovery disk and to restore the system?
I mean you already tried the passage without danger and she didn't so in my opinion, the next step should be the new installation of the OS

  • White screen with a cursor after V2V Windows 2008 R2

    Hi all

I just did a cold V2V of a Windows 2008 R2. Migration completed successfully. However, when I tried to start the machine in the new infrastructure, it shows a blank screen with a blinking cursor.

I tried the bootrec /fixmbr and /fixboot and also tried bootrec/Rebuild.

    Former environment - Esx 3.5

    New environment - ESXi 5.1

Before V2V the machine was to have a SCSI LSI logic, and while V2V, I used the option to preserve the same.

Could you please say what could be the reason and the solution as well.

    See you soon,.

    Muthu.

Thank you all for your replies,

Installed vcenter converter locally and launched the V2V. the new machine came with success.

Tried to load the recovery disk
Tried to boot the laptop directly from the disc
Tried to remove the battery, but made no difference

When I get the white screen with the cursor, I tried a few things mentioned.
Ctrl + alt + delete to get the Task Manager, but nothing.
Pushin' Win + R to open the Run dialog box, but it does not work.
Click on SHIFT 5 times quickly to get ticky key opened to get to the Control Panel, but it did not work for me.

Next step i think I can reinstall the memory but don't really want to start taking it to bits.

I also have a large amount of data I really want out of the hard drive. any suggestions?

Any help or suggestions much appreciated

    Hello

To be honest, for me it looks like a Windows problem. Maybe something messed with the registry and Windows can start t more

I think that you must restore windows recovery disk Toshiba you wrote that you have tried to load the restore disc but what happened after that? Can start the installation of recovery? If so, you should do this.

Backup, you can do if you buy an external HARD drive enclosure. Remove the HARD drive and install in the case of HARD drive. Now you can connect to another computer.

  • Satellite L300D starts in a white screen with the mouse cursor

    Hello

Asked by my friends to help them solve their L300D. Their son had him and they are not sure of what he did, but now when it loads in VIsta, all they get is a black screen with a cursor of mouse in the middle. The slider looks as if it was a less than normal display resolution.

I thought that this would be easily fixed by running a restore, but it did the same thing when I load restore (via the holding company 0 at startup) and even the copy of Windows 7, I tried to install as well.

I think it might be a hardware problem, but before bringing them to contact Toshiba Service for warranty repair, I thought I could post it here and see if anyone has suggestions on what it could be.

    Hello

Hey good buddy, if the same question is displayed if you load the function of food and also with Windows 7 I think that it s a hardware problem.
You can try to load the BIOS default settings maybe it works.

To be honest, I think the best way is, you contact the nearest authorized service provider. Technicians can check the mobile and Exchange material, if there is a hardware problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A200 - white screen with 3 beeps

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A200 was recently gives me a white screen with 3 beeps at every start. I took it to my friend for repair and they told me that I had to take the battery out and put it so that it starts. It worked for him, but not me. I called technical support and told me it was a hardware problem with the memory or the motherboard.

Anyone have the same problem and know what to do? I wouldn't mind not check memory myself I don't know where to start...

    Thank you

    Hi hpthinker,

I think the support that you called is right and it s a hardware problem. Perhaps with memory or the motherboard

The best way to fix this would be new modules of RAM because they can be easily replaced in a few minutes and are not expensive nowadays.
Just so buy new modules of RAM in your local computer store, or ask your authorized service provider for this problem. They can offer you new RAM modules and you can test it again.

By the way: If you have two RAM modules, test it with a module only.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Starting Error: my BB shows a white screen with 3 lines of text. Help me please.

    Hello guys,.

I bought a Blackberry "BOLD" from a few months ago and I've been to update facilities when my laptop turns off accidentally. Since then, when I turn on my blackberry, it does not show the normal screen. It shows a white screen with the following text:

BlackBerry 4.0.0.183, platform Options, Registered Messages. and when I click on Options, I get this error message

Error starting net net_rim_bb_options_app:Module 'net_rim_bb_spellcheck' not found.

What should I do? I really need my phone back. :-( Help, please! Thank you for your suggestion.

I tried: pull battery, uninstall the Desktop Manager and the soft reset and it still does not work. :'-(

    Sandy.

Ahhh... particular case then. What you need to do is to get the operating system that you want to:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

And then use the JL_Cmdr utility to destroy what is on your device:

    http://forums.CrackBerry.com/F3/how-wipe-JL_Cmder-53502/

And then you should be able to reinstall your operating system.

Good luck... and this can be very difficult... Be very patient with you as well as your devices...

  • white screen with lines

I came here because I believe that it is a combination of several mistakes, I don't know.

When I start the computer in Standard Win2k3, it gives me a white screen with Vibrio black vertical lines across on the screen, with a few horizontal. After some tests, I want to pretend it works, you press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and connected and surprisingly, the computer works - I can see the icon and the load of desk top of the page to the top, BUT the white screen is still there, the bars into brackets upward the desktop icons and the resolution is so low that I only see a small part. Moreover that apparently all workstations had been 'forced' layer on layer on the screen, as I see multiple cursors on the screen all at the same time movement and rhythm (when I move the mouse).

The next thing that I checked, is since I have installed WinXP, but as if by magic will not work some of my programs (this is why I use it), and the screen has worked very well and very well (with almost nothing, runnable).

Well, can not compare the two BONES, I also started Win2k3 in safe mode, safe mode with blah, all three cases of Safe Mode gives me good screen and access my programs no internet as safte mode blocks.

I want my internet back AND my good old Win2k3. If anyone can help. It should not be a video card problem because (1) I have integrated a video card AND (2) it works well under XP

It could be a corrupted RAM, even if dxdiag shows all the available RAM, I have hope that there is a way to check WITHOUT removing them from the socket.

It might even be a mistake of an operating system, that I don't know how to make sure that, if I can reinstall after the top in Mode safe

It could be another thing and combinations of these. (Probably the 2 above, in my view, have no idea how can ensure me that)

  • Satellite Pro C660 - black screen and a cursor flashing during startup

When my laptop start, after it shows the press f2 or f12 and then from windows, it goes to a black screen with the cursor blink.

The lights are on at the front, but there is no activity on the hard disk, such as the indicator light does not blink.

    Need help. Thank you.

I think that your HARD drive is dead.
You need to replace the HARD drive with a new 2.5 SATA HDD.
Replace the HARD drive and install the OS by using Toshiba recovery disc.
I hope you ve created one in the past

  • Satellite A85-s107 - white screen at startup by using the power of the battery

Satellite A85-s107 white screen at startup by using the power of the battery

When I boot A85-s107 in battery power, it is get booted up in the background, but my screen is empty.
After that if I connect it to AC power and switch deactivation/activation of the laptop power button, the screen comes back to life.

There is no problem when I start upward when it is connected to an electrical outlet.
Battery is fully charged and computer will work off the battery voltage if I remove AC after boootup

    Any suggestions?

    PS:

also note that when I remove AC and then reconnect I start the computer on two occasions that it does not start the 1st time?

Don t need to recharge the battery if the AC adapter is plugged ;)
Try the tips posted by Alex otherwise it of a hardware problem, in my view, there seems to be something wrong with the motherboard...
In this case, only the replacement could help and it could be a costly affair

  • Apple TV 4 show white screen apps after failure

Hi, have you had the same problem with apple tv 4?

At each time after a power outage, when I try to open third-party applications on apple tv 4, it only shows white screen. Built-in apps work fine.

I tried the reset. It worked. BUT! It is a thing of your time to reset it and reinstall the apps one by one, especially those that require

    to connect to the app.

Try force smoking each app instead of reinstalling them.

Press the button icon TV twice and drag upward on all running applications and then restart them.

  • black screen with no cursor or available bios

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, which seems to agree, but has a black screen with no cursor.  The fan runs for a few seconds and flashing lights show near the top right the keyboad and cap lock button.  I pulled the hard drive and tested ok and tried to move the memory with no luck.  I also tried the trick to reset by turning off the power switch for a minute.  I searched this forum and anywhere on the internet that I could find, and all I could gather was that it is not uncommon, but no one seemed to have an answer.   The cmos battery cause this?  I always have one battery to verify, but it's a different style and I have to order a.  This computer is about two years old and with Vista.

Never mind! Looks like you got.
