  • Satellite A30: Does not recognize USB devices.

My computer does not recognize any devices when connected to the USB Port on my Satellite A30. After downloading SP2, I was able to install the printer, but I can't use it because there is no printer icon in the toolbar. If I want to print something I get the window of the printer, select printing, then it goes to the author of the Image of MS Office. Basically, I can't use my printer or any other device connected to a USB port.

However, it was working perfectly fine when I had the home edition of XP but I can not reinstall this one because there is something wrong with the recovery disk that's why I had to install XP Pro.
Also, I used to get a sound, letting me know that a device has been connected. I get more or the icon in the toolbar.

Is that what I could do to fix this please? Is it possible to get another disc of recovery somehow? Obviously, it's something to do with XP Pro software, but I don't know what to do.
    Could you please help me?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you get a window of the printer you need to select the right printer. If printing goes to MS Office Image writer so the right printer is not selected.

On the new installation: If you install the operating system from the original Windows CD you must install the necessary drivers and QFE patches all in the right order.

  • Re: My Satellite L350 does not recognize USB key

I have a Toshiba Satellite L350-235. It suddenly stopped recognizing my usb key that I use every day. Normally, he would say "new hardware found" and allow me to click on the F drive, now I get nothing!

    Can someone advise me?

I guess that the USB ports are working properly if you connect another device; something like USB mouse. Right?

In my opinion, you should test the USB in USB ports.
You can also try to remove the USB controllers and hubs from the Device Manager list.
After restarting of new laptop, (ports) USB controllers must be recognized, and then you could connect and test the USB again.

In the event that the USB is not recognized by one of the available USB ports, try to connect to another USB key.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi europacific,.

    > I get a pop up usb malfunction
This popup you get exactly? You can post a screenshot of this message? This would be useful.

Sorry, but what to say on this subject? Some clarification would be useful, and no one knows what operating system you have.

If you have some problems with the webcam I would try to update the driver for the webcam. You can download it from the official website of Toshiba.

  • Qosmio F30 does not recognize USB devices

My new Qosmio F30 does not recognize USB devices. Displays Device Manager USB ENHANCED CONTROLLER and ROOT HUB works fine, but the machine still wants to install each device but cannot. BIOS version seems to be V1.30. I tried the devices on other machines, and they work fine.
Is there something that I missed?

    Hello

Before your shot the beautiful F30 can you please say what OS you are using?
Did you use the OS from the Toshiba restore CD?
On this CD, all drivers must be preinstalled and you don t need to install no matter what chipsets or anything like that.

  • Satellite L50 - B suddenly does not recognize USB devices

Suddenly my laptop does not recognize any USB.

The USB key or external hard drive works on other computers, but not on my laptop.
    Only cards SD-are recognized.

I tried to remove the usb portals on the Control Panel, but after I restarted my computer all returned.
One reappear with a caveat that it does not work, but when I search a new program to run it, it can not be found. After removing it, it comes back with the same caveat.

I also tried to download the new discs (chip set utility) but who doesn't either.
I don't know what else to do.

Can someone help me if I can access my USB-products once again on my laptop?

    Hello

What about the USB mouse? You can use the USB mouse connected to one of the USB ports?

Have you changed the system or you have installed new OS on this laptop?
    I m asking because the L50 - B Satellite supports USB 2.0 as well USB 3.0 ports

In the case where you have installed the new OS (Win 7?) on this laptop, the USB 3.0 ports would require additional USB 3.0 driver

However, in case that you are always using the OS preinstalled Toshiba, I recommend you to reset the initial setup and test the USB ports once more.

  • My Satellite phone does not recognize the external hard drive

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. I connected an external hard drive (brand is seagate) that still works on my previous laptop (Dell), but the system does not overlay the external hard drive. It does not recognize there is an 'external Hard Drive FreeAgent' but when the AutoPlay window appears & I choose "Open folder to view files" it gives me the following message is displayed:

    "G / is not accessible.
    Access is denied. "

I called the manufacturer of the external hard drive (Seagate) & they told me that it is a windows problem.

can someone help me? ... Thank you

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have exactly?
Do you use an original preinstalled operating system?
    Are you using USB ports?
Have you noticed the same problem using all available ports?

  • Statellite M100 does not recognize USB storage devices or SD card

I had problems with my laptop Toshiba Satellite M100 series read don't not Sandisk SD card in the camera to my son - is a 2 GB card and what I read online, maybe that is the problem BUT the laptop is also not reading any of my devices USB "stick". When I insert the SD card or a USB 'stick' he asks me to install the driver software that is simply stupid. I tried to connect the camera via a usb cable too and it does not recognize the device and still once, claims the driver software device.

I looked on the toshiba site and have installed all updates that I thought may be justified, I'm also trying to run Windows update (at least every 2nd week anyway so it shouldn't be a problem). I am running Vista Home Edition (32 bit). The USB ports have certainly worked in the past, I don't really want to resort to execution of recovery discs if I have as I don't want to lose all the stuff I've stored.

Question of the SD Card/USB seems to be a common one, but I can't find a specific patch to this topic or any other tech site, any suggestions?

    See you soon

In your case, I would do two things.

First: Check if a new BIOS is available. Search on the Toshiba site and do an update.

Second: Reinstall the laptop with the recovery discs. I know that you will lose all the data, but you can save it to s DVD or external HARD drive.

  • Satellite A100 does not recognize the new CD/DVD drive

I bought a new CD/DVD drive for my A-100 of Toshiba Satellite age of four year old went crazy and wouldn't work.

Unfortunately, I bought a DVD of Toshiba Portege A100 / reader Combo CD - RW that is not exactly what I had before the jump that it will still work.

Unfortunately, I'm surprised because it does not recognize the CD/DVD drive at all: /...
It seems to work, and the light blinks I think that it is not broken.

I just plugged it because that's the way I was told to do.
I need to download the drivers to operate?
It will work on my laptop, or is it a "most recent" CD player that will not work with my laptop?

    I'd appreciate any help. THX

The BIOS does not recognize this new CURIOUS because the player seems not to be fully compatible.
I think there bad master/slave/c-salt settings

As you know these settings can be changed on the external CD/DVD drive for desktop switching jumper. But it is not possible for computers portable CD/DVD players.

You can solve it only purchase a new compatible disc.

Usually the ASP in your country could help you buy this disc of these guys here
However, you can consult the user manual if there are a few details on the compatible sides.
My user manual provides this information.

  • Satellite L750 does not recognize an external microphone

My laptop does not recognize any external audio input device plugged into the mic port.

I have a Satellite L750 running Windows 7 with the Conexant HD Audio Smart.

I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal mic.

When I go into the sound properties, under the recording tab, it is only the internal mic. There is no option for an external mic.

I tried updating the driver for sound card, remove the card driver sound and re - install, check all the properties under sound properties, but there is no option for the external microphone.

I tried Googling the problem but nobody seems to have a viable solution.

Please can someone help me get the laptop to recognize an external mic.

    > I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal microphone

Start a test: take an external microphone, connect it to the laptop and use a Windows 7 Audio Recorder utility (can be found in all programs-> Accessories) to record an audio sample.

    Is this possible?

I think that the microphone that appears in the control-> audio-> recording tab panel is the external microphone jack.
You can also click right in the recording tab and must mark the options: show disconnected devices and devices to see the disabled.

  • WMP11 does not recognize USB drives

I have 2 laptops, the two Vista running. Both have WMP 11. We recognize USB drives in WMP11 and allows playlist to copy to them. The other laptop recognize USB drives (I have a variety of brands and sizes) in Win Explorer, will play the music of their share in WMP11 but will not recognize USB keys for use with copy of the lists of reading or synchronization. Sync, refresh devices does not help. Same result if USB is directly connect to the laptop or connected via USB multi hub. USB key works perfectly in all other respects, but WMP11 is unable to locate one of them.

    Hi MarcGG,

    ·        At the devices detected before?

    ·        Do you remember the last changes before the show?

    1. check if the sync settings are correct. To do this, follow these steps.

    a. open Windows Media Player.

    b. click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device and then click Advanced Options.

    c. the Properties dialog box for your device is displayed. Tab sync, box start sync when device connects checkbox.

    d. restart the media player.

    2. Add a device to sync in Windows Media Player.

    a. start Windows Media Player and connect your portable device into a USB port on your computer. A box of "Windows Media Player ‑‑ Device Setup" appears, showing that he recognized the device and provides an opportunity for you to name your device.

    (b) read how the player will sync your device, which is directly under where you type the name of the device. If storage of the device is more than 4 gigabytes, for example, and your library on Windows Media Player fits on this device, the player chooses automatic.

    c. selection of automatic syncing means that your device will reflect all your Windows Media Player library and it will do so that whenever it is connected. Click on "Finish".

    d. to synchronize only some of your library when the player chose automatic, you can choose what will sync when you open Windows Media Player. Click on the portable device in the right pane and drag the items you want to synchronize with this device.

    e. selection of a manual synchronization indicates that the player has detected that the portable device has no place for your entire library. Click on "Finish". Open Windows Media Player, select the portable device in the right pane and drag the items you want to synchronize with this device.

  • Satellite L300D will not recognize USB drive, except if the WIFI is disabled

I have a venerable L300D Satellite under Vista SP2. I also have a Fujitsu 40 GB SATA HDD of my old laptop in a USB2.0 caddy, with double USB plugs to require more current.

I can sign in successfully caddy USB to my laptop Windows 7 via a simple USB port on a USB 2.0 so I know it works.

On the Satellite L300D, it implements the Generic USB drive in Device Manager, but does not record the 2 disk partitions in the storage of files in Windows Explorer. In fact when you try and expand the COMPUTER in the Explorer it times out.

I noticed that the WLAN (Realtek TL8187B) is on the same USB 2.0 controller, so I disabled it. It turned off my wireless, but immediately the Windows Explorer was shot in life and I could access partitions (D:, and G :) may even run the check disk (no failures) and Defrag. As soon as I turn ON the WLAN driver disc fails to register.

I've updated the Realtek drivers on the Toshiba web site but I want a solution that allows me to use the disc AND the WIFI network at the same time.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hello Colin

Have you started using your laptop with the original version of Vista that you got with your laptop?

I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now but I've never noticed this issue although I use external hard drives and USB keys quite often.
Since when did you notice this kind of behavior? To be honest, I can't imagine that this problem persists since the day where we as original recovery image is tested and something like that should not happen. Maybe some updates may be responsible for this.

Trying to remove driver WLAN, reinstall the chipset driver and reinstall WLAN driver. After doing this test he has once again please and send feedback.

  • BIOS on Satellite L350 does not recognize devices

    Hello

I have a Satalite L350 breaking in windows after about 1 min of loading. I thought that maybe the hard drive was defective, so I tried to run a program I called PC test 6. I then discovered that the cd player would not read. I then tried a CD USB player and again it would not start a disc. After resetting the BIOS to default settings, I discovered that the BIOS is not recognizing any device other than the hard drive. I took the hard drive and tested with PC Check via another PC and HD spent.

Now I want to reinstall windows, but the CD player does not start. I guess that the problem comes my BIOS maybe flashing (InsydeH20 version 1.5) it would work? But... no device USB and CD: S

Any ideas that I can please?

    Hello

I don t think that the BIOS is the problem.
The BIOS recognized HARD drive correctly. Right?
Well, I think that the CD/DVD drive is faulty if the BIOS cannot recognize what
Furthermore the L350 BIOS does not support startup from the CD/DVD USB drive.
    It is not possible

If you want to install the recovery disk operating system, then you need to replace the internal CD/DVD drive because it appears to be defective

Of course, it's my personal choice and just a suggestion
