Statellite M100 does not recognize USB storage devices or SD card

I had problems with my laptop Toshiba Satellite M100 series read don't not Sandisk SD card in the camera to my son - is a 2 GB card and what I read online, maybe that is the problem BUT the laptop is also not reading any of my devices USB "stick". When I insert the SD card or a USB 'stick' he asks me to install the driver software that is simply stupid. I tried to connect the camera via a usb cable too and it does not recognize the device and still once, claims the driver software device.

I looked on the toshiba site and have installed all updates that I thought may be justified, I'm also trying to run Windows update (at least every 2nd week anyway so it shouldn't be a problem). I am running Vista Home Edition (32 bit). The USB ports have certainly worked in the past, I don't really want to resort to execution of recovery discs if I have as I don't want to lose all the stuff I've stored.

Question of the SD Card/USB seems to be a common one, but I can't find a specific patch to this topic or any other tech site, any suggestions?

See you soon

In your case, I would do two things.

First: Check if a new BIOS is available. Search on the Toshiba site and do an update.

Second: Reinstall the laptop with the recovery discs. I know that you will lose all the data, but you can save it to s DVD or external HARD drive.

  • Media Player 12 does not recognize removable media (drive letters, sd cards, compact flash, usb, android phones drives) as a synchronized device. Running under 7 64-bit.

Tried and tried to make it work. According to announcements of Microsoft on removable media, you can synchronize however every time I try to get Media Player 12 to sync it search devices and just empty. I have connected devices and they have drive letters in Windows Explorer. I even clicked on the link 'open as a portable device' in Windows Explorer and then went back to media player and it doesn't. I can open whatever music is on the device in the file menu in media player. In mp 11 I could synchronize throughout the day with my removable devices. I just thought they had disabled this feature until I read that you're supposed to be able to do. I connected my Samsung Captivate as memory mass and tried as well, but obviously missed. I plugged as an MTP device and in Windows Explorer, the Autoplay option is "Sync digital media files to this device using Windows Media Player". So I think this will be a safe work, I try several times, restart the computer and the phone. Recognized again in Windows Explorer, everything seems like there should be no driver issue, but Media Player still does not recognize my camera! Help!

Update: I left a removable USB enclosure to connect for three years and a half hours. I've forgotten about it with media player running, came back and noticed, it was listed as a device in media player. So it looks like you could synchronize this right? FAKE! I dragged music to synchronize with it and the sync button is grayed. A lot of space on the device. Well, what about MP now recognizes the drive, I'll unplug the unit and then plug it back in and maybe will correct some glitch MP knows. Wrong again! New MP can't find the device! I thought that software/computers were supposed to get faster not taking 3.5 hours to connect a device and then maybe someday in the future, you can synchronize your device. But at this point don't still no luck. I just thought that Microsoft has decided to get rid of the features within the MP to synchronize removable devices because I could never get this far until reading last night it is supposed to work with key cards, usb sd and removable media. After having no luck in getting MP to reconnect to my USB stick, I erased the cache device thinking that would help, but no, he didn't.

Another update: when I connect my phone as a MTP device, AutoPlay rises and there is an option to synchronize with Windows Media Player. When I click on this option, MP opens and then said: "searching for devices" and never find the "SGH-I897" (Samsung Captivate). Anyway if I go up as mass storage or the DPW Windows device sees and I can move the files, but cannot get the Media Player to find it or recognize it! It should be simple enough for where Windows Media Player should be.

It worked for me, once put into automatic I clicked on the Start button and the rebooted enumerator. I restarted WMP and there was my flash drive in the synchronization domain.

    Thank you!!

  • Satellite A30: Does not recognize USB devices.

My computer does not recognize any devices when connected to the USB Port on my Satellite A30. After downloading SP2, I was able to install the printer, but I can't use it because there is no printer icon in the toolbar. If I want to print something I get the window of the printer, select printing, then it goes to the author of the Image of MS Office. Basically, I can't use my printer or any other device connected to a USB port.

However, it was working perfectly fine when I had the home edition of XP but I can not reinstall this one because there is something wrong with the recovery disk that's why I had to install XP Pro.
Also, I used to get a sound, letting me know that a device has been connected. I get more or the icon in the toolbar.

Is that what I could do to fix this please? Is it possible to get another disc of recovery somehow? Obviously, it's something to do with XP Pro software, but I don't know what to do.
    Could you please help me?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you get a window of the printer you need to select the right printer. If printing goes to MS Office Image writer so the right printer is not selected.

On the new installation: If you install the operating system from the original Windows CD you must install the necessary drivers and QFE patches all in the right order.

  • Satellite L50 - B suddenly does not recognize USB devices

Suddenly my laptop does not recognize any USB.

The USB key or external hard drive works on other computers, but not on my laptop.
    Only cards SD-are recognized.

I tried to remove the usb portals on the Control Panel, but after I restarted my computer all returned.
One reappear with a caveat that it does not work, but when I search a new program to run it, it can not be found. After removing it, it comes back with the same caveat.

I also tried to download the new discs (chip set utility) but who doesn't either.
I don't know what else to do.

Can someone help me if I can access my USB-products once again on my laptop?

    Hello

What about the USB mouse? You can use the USB mouse connected to one of the USB ports?

Have you changed the system or you have installed new OS on this laptop?
    I m asking because the L50 - B Satellite supports USB 2.0 as well USB 3.0 ports

In the case where you have installed the new OS (Win 7?) on this laptop, the USB 3.0 ports would require additional USB 3.0 driver

However, in case that you are always using the OS preinstalled Toshiba, I recommend you to reset the initial setup and test the USB ports once more.

  • WMP11 does not recognize USB drives

I have 2 laptops, the two Vista running. Both have WMP 11. We recognize USB drives in WMP11 and allows playlist to copy to them. The other laptop recognize USB drives (I have a variety of brands and sizes) in Win Explorer, will play the music of their share in WMP11 but will not recognize USB keys for use with copy of the lists of reading or synchronization. Sync, refresh devices does not help. Same result if USB is directly connect to the laptop or connected via USB multi hub. USB key works perfectly in all other respects, but WMP11 is unable to locate one of them.

    Hi MarcGG,

  • Windows does not recognize iPhone/iPod devices

I tried to add music to a new iTunes library to my iPhone on my pc when I accidentally pressed the notification "do not trust this computer."

I tried following the advice in this thread (removed the pilot): I accidentally hit "Do not trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust him again even when I restart everything. Now what?

And now my computer does not recognize my iPod or my iPhone when I plug it into the USB ports. They don't even charge. I know with certainty that the problem comes from my pc because when I plugged them both in another pc, Lesmanteaux both able to connect to the computer/iTunes. I tried restarting both devices, tried resetting the location and privacy, by restarting the computer, even performed a system recovery.

When I go to "Devices and printers", the two devices are listed under Unspecified, Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, unknown category, troubleshooting needs (I tried that as well, when I do that it is said that all driver software is up-to-date)

Driver status: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

All my software is up to date (iPhone, iPod Nano, Itunes 12.1. (2. 27 64-bit)

Please help me, I've got a flight tomorrow and all I wanted was to upload music.

Have you tried using different USB ports? Try and see if it triggers the question "confidence." You can also give your iPod a restart is forced. Press the sleep and home for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver Apple, let go and let it reboot, then try again.

If this does not work you can try something a bit more drastic. That's a lot of time, but not horrible. I had to do a few times with my devices and my computer.

Try this, go to your control panel, add/remove programs.

Remove iTunes (you won't lose any content not the program, I've done a few times), Mobile Apple, Apple Application Support device driver.

For good measure, you can restart your computer just to remove the cobwebs.

Then come out and redownload iTunes and reinstall it.

Plug your iPod in and drivers must be reinstalled.

All of your old info should be there. I've never lost anything. Essentially to remove iTunes and drivers have to reinstall fees, which can remove the obstacle 'I don't trust you. "

  • Windows XP does not recognize the iPhone - device not recognized error

I am running Windows XP (SP2 I believe) and whenever I plug in my iPhone I get the error not recognized USB device. If iTunes does not recognize it and I can't sync. My guess is that I'm missing or have an updated driver, but I don't know how to install. If it makes a difference, I am using a brand new MacBook Pro and Windows XP via Parallels Desktop. I don't think it's the question, though, as I used to be able to sync with my Manager (ACT!) contacts via Outlook. It seems to be simply a function of Windows is not able to identify the iPhone via USB. A simple solution would be appreciated, but I'll take complicated if that's all that's available.

    Hello abogadopeter,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

This question has been a known issue that seems by Parallels. I did some research and read through some of the threads for workarounds. He doesn't seem to be a conclusive solution, but works to some extent. You can take a look at http://forum.parallels.com/search.php and simply search for ipod and look through some of these institutions.

  • Why my mac does not recognize my hard drive or SD cards?

I got a new Macbook Air last month. Since I had so much problems with it - mostly because if you plug in anything whatever in the SD card slot or USB drives, it does not recognize them. I own a mac before, as well as PC laptop dell, so I am aware of the problems when formatting the discs everywhere, but even when I plugged a new passport hard drive, the computer couldn't find. Similarly, you may not find all the SD cards when I tried to use the SD card.

What is going with this? I am a photographer living, so I need constant access to these two. This new model has some new method for transfer of files from the external hard drive etc.?

Close, then connect the mac to a power adapter, disconnect all external devices.

    reset the SMC

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

reset all external then pulls even deleted

Once you open a session reconnect the external hard drive

If the drive is connected with a hub of party 3rd do not use it and connect the drive directly to the mac

Connect the external hard drive and open Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility disk utility

The drive appears in the list of external devices?
