Satellite L550 - square black on the desktop icons after upgrading to Windows 7
Hi people.
Don't know if Windows 7 has simplified our PC as Microsoft would have us believe. I spent the last two days trying to understand why my L550 has suddenly square black on my desktop icons.
What happens after the installation of Microsoft, application of a software patch updates for a HP deskjet 5150 printer. To be honest, I'm more sure when this nuisance hits me.
Resolution true color (32 bit) upward in color (16 bit) downgrade rid my icons of black squares. Should I therefore settle for a lower resolution when my laptop can do better? Any workaround yet?
Thank you
Hey, Mambo,
What exactly are you installing if you visit the Windows Update page? Maybe you install a different display driver that isn't compatible with the graphics card.
Check this box!
Also, make sure that the new display on the site of Toshiba driver is installed.
Is the software patch for your printer that is compatible with Windows 7?

Hi stab them.
I think that I n the new good t for you: restore factory settings without Toshiba recovery disc isn t possible in your case! :(
First of all I think it's normal to s no recovery disk is delivered with the laptop as you will need to create them yourself using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That is why it s recommended using high quality as Verbatim DVD-R media.
I think that the only option to recover to factory settings is to order a new Toshiba recovery disc.

How to remove the desktop icon after you have uninstalled program.
I uninstalled a program and then tried to put the icon on the desktop to the trash. I get an error message that says that the program cannot be found and try again. How can I get rid of the icon?
Hello
Reboot and see if the icon is still there. If so, try the following:
Go to control panel/Folder Options, view tab, set the options so that you can see the hidden files and folders and show protected operating system files. You should now be able to see a desktop desktop.ini file. Delete and restart. See if that helps.

After pressing ALT + CTRL + delete > taskmanager > run > Desktop Explorer icons is displayed... .i tried many time to solve this problem of the customer service, but they are unable to solve this problem. Please please help
It is not possible for me to every time the format of the system
kindly, please give solution.
My system is connected to the network with 3 PCs and all are licensed copy.
Hello
Welcome to the Forums Community Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.
According to the description, you get an error message "FAILED CONNECTION USER INIT" after installing Windows updates.
From my research, this problem occurs if the Userinit key in the Windows registry has been changed. For example, this problem may occur if the Userinit key has a value, but no binary data.
I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.
Method 1:
Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: Check the value and binary Userinit registry data
Important: The following instructions contain the steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information, view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Back up the registry
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registrya. start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.
b. click continue.
c. Locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
d. in the right pane, right-click Userinit, and then click change.
e. in the value data box, type hard disk:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe, and then click OK.
Note: The placeholder of the hard drive refers to the drive on which Windows Vista is installed.
f. close the registry editor.
g. restart the computer.
Method 2:
Restore the system to an earlier point before installing this application.
System Restore can return your files system to a point in time before you noticed a problem, without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files. If the system restore does not resolve the problem, you can undo the restore operation and choose a different restore point.

Move the desktop icons after the release of the games
First of all, I would like to say that I read this question and answer: http://goo.gl/MkSVA but I think I have a scenario different some - which may require a different response.
When I'm in a game and I want to leave a moment, I press Ctrl + ESC to get to my office. on most games, this doesn't cause any problems. On some games, when I'm on the desktop my icons have been moved. Running the game I play on the correct resolution. My resolution is 1366 x 768, and I have a second monitor which is 1024 x 768. I think that the second screen resolution may be the cause of the problem.I am running Windows 7 64 bit. When I unplug my second monitor, I can see the icons on my desktop get smaller so I know that the monitor is something the resolution of my laptop screen. Please help me solve this problem! What you need is a decent multi-screen utility... so much better than struggling with simple tools... There are trial versions...

BlackBerry smartphones can not find the BBM icon after upgrade on Torch 9850
Hi all
I did an upgrade to my flashlight this morning by a message to upgrade the BBM this morning and everything looked like, it went well and I rebooted the unit and NOT of BBM ICON...
Can someone help me?
I tried to display, etc., and I'm not.
I tried to download it but it says that it is on my device.
Thanks for any help
Sorry, I misread it, because the missing icon AppWorld was rumored for many, and I jumped in with this solution too quickly.
This,
- your options > device > Application, highlight and then delete BBMessenger.
- Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
- The, after reboot, your browser for BlackBerry, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download/install again.
Once again, my apologies for this initial misunderstanding.

Satellite L500-13D: all programs & settings are gone after upgrade to Windows 7
Hello.
My laptop is Satellite L500-13D
I've upgraded to WINT in VISTA using official TSB upgrade disk.
It seems that something was wrong. Win7 installed properly, but unfortunately all installed programs and settings are gone.
I see also that when the upgrade $directories on C: and E partitions have been created; programs and older files are there.A few questions:
1. is there a way to return return programs?
2. how to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
3. download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?Hi mate
Have you read the manual that came with the laptop and Windows 7 upgrade disc?
After an upgrade to Windows 7 you need additional disk with the upgrade tools that came with the Windows 7 upgrade disk.
> 2. How to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
This is not possible because the recovery disk must be created at first running the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba.> 3. Download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?
If I know that cannot be downloaded. -
Features of the printer lost after upgrading to Windows 8
I use a HP Deskjet 2060 K110 AIO.
After you have installed Windows 8 Windows 7, the "Pages to print" option (print odd and even pages) and 'HP Real Life Technologies' are missing, even after I installed the driver for http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4157...
I tried to install the driver on the CD it came with, it won't install.
This feature is deliberately deleted or did I miss something?
Hello
These features make accessible to the general public through the driver supplied with the HP full feature software, by your description I guess you have mistakenly added the In-OS driver included in Windows 8.
Follow the steps below, which should add a feature to the printer:
1. download and run the latest version of the full software features below:
2. once the installation dialog box appears, click CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open the Task Manager
3. right click on the process of HP - DQEX5.exe, and then select the location of the open file.
4. right click on the address bar and select copy address as text.
5. open the control panel and then go to devices and printers, the HP Deskjet Ink Adv 2060 icon right click and select printer properties.
6 open the Advanced tab, click new driver.
7. click on Next, click the disk button, paste the address of the software by clicking CTRL + V and click OK.
8. finish the wizard, and then click OK to confirm the changes. your pritner driver now understand one of these options:
