  Satellite U500-186 my wife is so slow to boot and load anything. It works on Win 7 Home and is standard as purchased spec.

  It takes about 2-3 minutes just to boot and load of Live Mail.

  Run AVG anti virus and not much else. Used only for surfing and electronic mail.

  I have a Satellite L300, who treated me well - but more 2 months ago really slow and freezes quite often. I have anti virus, spybot etc and come up with nothing.

  Last night I tried to reformat the system by pressing 0 did not work so tried with F8 which I would like to make a longer scan but no reformatting. I am now very happy that I failed to do the reformat because I bought windows 7 after the initial purchase of the laptop.

• Satellite M30-704 slow start and IDE #2 0203 failure message after replace it

  two problems:
  first after replacing the cd/dvd drive, my computer does not start now automatically and displays a "IDE #2 0203 failure" message. I can start then it but all of that takes time?

  I just did a clean install from the recovery disk hoping this may cure the problem of him take 10 minutes so that it starts on the desktop, but it always takes some time.   Quad is right, there is nothing you can do to improve the memory shared for graphics card. Everything will be controlled automatically. Just make sure that you have the maximum capacity of RAM installed, then you will have more video memory.

  Satellite L series is not designed for games. It s great for office, Internet, videos, photos, etc. but not the best laptop for games. As a result, the graphics card is not powerful enough.
  A series of satellite is better, but the Qosmio series is ideal for games. :)
