Satellite L650 - won't record discs

Hello

I got my Satellite L650 for about 6 weeks with no problems and now the first time I try to burn a cd it does not work. I've tried several programs, but all seem to give me a similar error.
I captured the data from the main program I use IMGBurn.
I tried to remove this device from Device Manager and deleting the upperfilters in registry.

Any suggestions?

The device information: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/641/capture2sb.jpg/
IMGBurn error: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/833/capturefgy.jpg/

Thanks in advance.

Hi fridgeyeti,

Why you have installed different burning software? Usually a single program is sufficient and that the previous user wrote at the end, nothing works if you install programs so much. It of also advisable to install a single antivirus only and not more.

In your case I remove all burning software and install the latest version of your favorite program, but before installing it, run Ccleaner which s a freeware cleaning tool.

Also remove the upper and lower filters in the registry as described here:

  • Satellite L650 won't drive/USB boot

    Hi all

Currently, I am trying to upgrade my Windows 7 32bits Satellite L650 PSK1JA-0ED017 for windows 7 64 bit.

I created a bootable USB device and borrowed a friend installation disc, and both do the same thing. When I try to boot from them, I see the Toshiba page, then "Windows is loading files ' with a bar grey that fills, and then it goes to the page"Starting Windows"for about 2 seconds before restarting.

I saw some posts of the forum in which people with Satellites from Windows 8 for Windows 7 will need to disable UEFI to make this work, however my BIOS got no option to disable startup secure or activating / deactivating UEFI/CSM. I updated the BIOS to the most recent update (Insyde 2.40) but that made no difference.

I can always start the computer normally using my HARD drive, however the whole point of this exercise was to leave with more RAM and an SSD, which is currently sitting useless on my desk.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

The Satellite L650 contains no UEFI and secure in the BIOS startup option because this laptop from t a Windows 8 isn't. It not was not pre-installed with Win 8 and, therefore, these special
Win 8 options in the BIOS are not available.

I think that there is a problem with the USB bootable device. Maybe you made a mistake when creating the boot device.

On the other hand, it could also be a problem with the lack of SATA driver. In some cases of Win 7 Setup does not recognize the HARD drive and this requires a SATA driver

  • Satellite L650: Impossible to record with Audacity or free sound recording software

I have a L650 and I can't save anything with Audacity or free recorder it only shows the Conexant microphone and line (WsAudio_DeviceS (1,2,3,4 and 5))

If I record only from the Microphone Conexant CX20671 Sm

I went into Control Panel and tried to update the drivers etc I am running Win 7 32 bit

    Hello

Hmm, I think that's not possible because of the audio chip Conexant.
As far as I know it supports stereo-in.
I have a u400 with Conexant audio chip too and I can't record music using tool no. 23.
But my other laptop A210 is favorable because it s equipped with the Realtek sound card.

By the way; to be 100% sure that this is not available, you can check the Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab. Here, you must right click and should mark the option; view hidden devices, see the disabled devices.

  • Disk failure hard satellite L650-12N - replaced with SSD - how to recover?

My HARD drive has failed, so I bought a 256 GB SSD Crucial CT256MX100SSD1. I installed it in the laptop and went to use the recovery CD. It's the bit score correctly as far as I can tell, but to cut a long story short, I think that the recovery disk is missing a few vital pieces of information (read below - I may be wrong).

So, how do for Satellite L650-12N new recovery discs?

    Thank you

After the partition, it then says "copy files of database recovery.
    some random jargon

Then he said: «unpack the OS and system/WinRE»
    Set of RECO...
    It says "copy F:\ZZImg\11353XSP.swm to V:\HDDRecovery\SWImg 1/10
    1 file (s) copied.
    Copy of the CRC files
    1 file (s) copied.

at this stage it says ' insert the next recovery media (containing the F:\ZZImg\11353XSP6.swm file)!
but the backup I did only has one drive.

Hmm, for me, it seems that some image packages are missing.
According to your message, the recovery image must contain 10 packs, but the first recovery disc provides only 5 packages.
Should be so 2nd drive providing other packages to complete the recovery procedure.

I m wondering if you already used the recovery disc (CD) in the past.
Are you sure that this recovery disc has been done correctly 100%?

From my point of few recovery disk is defective and to recover the laptop, you need a good way to return to work.

    Hello

What HARD drive is visible in the BIOS?
HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS? You will need to check the first page of the BIOS.
Usually, you should see the HARD drive and the HARD drive name.
If disk HARD isn t in the list, then probably it of defective and must be replaced.

  • Satellite L650-12 q - Toshiba HDD Recovery does not

    Toshiba Satellite L650-12 q
    Windows 7 64 bit

I am looking to re - install Windows using the Toshiba HDD Recovery software on my hard drive to restore the computer to factory settings.
I followed the procedure to do this in the System Recovery Options, but received the following message is displayed:

"The recovery of the operating system is impossible!
Not found the HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive. There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer. »

    More details:
Before you do the above, I supported the system and the files and folders using AOMEI Backupper. I then made the mistake of the merger of C: D: and E: partitions, E: contained HDDR files.

After having tried the recovery above and receive the above message, I reinstalled the file system I had saved on an external hard drive, which resulted in a copy of the drive C: and E: drive with HDDR files.
Unfortunately, when I tried to recover the operating system, the same message appeared.

Then I tried to use a system restore disc, I had created a few weeks ago, but concluded that, for some reason that CD is empty.

The good news is that the computer still works - slowly - and HDDR files seem to be still there, but for some reason, inaccessible.

What are my options? I want to go back to initial factory settings so that I can go back and re-install the programs and files that I want to. (I backed up all my files and have records of installation for programs).

If the worst comes to the worst and I have to buy a Windows 7 disc (if that's even possible - I don't want Windows 8), it would be possible to install on this computer and it would give me a clean install, without any of the garbage which is currently cluttering up my computer?

Thank you for reading, and I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.

In your case, the situation is clear: HARD drive recovery facility does not work?
If you want to have the laptop with the settings you have an option only: for recovery image installation you must use the installation of recovery disc.

If I understand right you don t, entitled?
But you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Cannot perform factory reset to Satellite L650

    Hi team, support

Hope you will be well :)
I have some problems and hope that you will help me solve them. Here is the description of my problem:
I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 - 17R laptop computer I want to reset to the factory settings. I used the following instructions to do that (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm), but when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain 'Repair your computer' or "??" or something like that. The first entry in this list is 'Safe Mode', second is 'Safe Mode with Networking' and so on. Also, I tried the other method described in many places in the internet, which is to press 0 and the whole power button when you turn on the laptop. In this case again, he starts to do things as described in the instructions (example here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5dEOm1EJBw): it beeps, then when I let go of the 0 key, it prints "starting Windows" and shows the Windows logo, after that it goes to market as always and no other dialog boxes appear.

    Issues related to the:
Is there another way to do the factory reset?
I have doubts that the "Toshiba HDD recovery" tool of my laptop is corrupted, so is it possible to download this tool on the internet, on dvd disc and install from there? If so, then can you please give me a link of this tool for my model?

    Best regards
    Mihran grabbed.

Hello Mihran and welcome in the Toshiba forum

    Let's see what's not there.
First some general info. Each new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled with original recovery image. This image is also saved on the HARD disk on a separate partition. With the factory settings repair my computer option will appear in the advanced start-up (F8 at startup) and HARD drive recovery option can be made as described in Toshiba document you posted in your first assignment. If nothing is changed, this option will be there and you will be able to do the installation of HARD drive recovery again ad again.
    > when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain "repair your computer".
This occurs if you have installed the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc. After having this option to fix my computer will disappear, and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > Is there another way to do the factory reset?
Yes. You must use the disk for the installation of the OS restore DVD. After that it all will be the same. Repair my computer option will be available again and you won't be havce factory again.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Re: Satellite L650/0E8 - clean install with Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello.

I recently bought a [Toshiba L650/0E8 laptop | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/notebooks/satellite/l650/psk1ja-0e8017] and accidentally installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7.

I saved an image of "recovery" from my computer in 4 DVD-R using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. I need to use Adobe Master Collection CS5, but this requires the 64-bit edition to use first Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5. I've put together by reading some articles on the net that I have to do a 'clean' install, but as I've always had a technician set up my computer and have never used a Toshiba laptop before, I'm unaware on how to backup all my files, programs, drivers, etc. before reinstall Windows 7 to a 64-bit version.

-What do these recovery DVD? Is there anywhere I can download the software/drivers for the 64-bit version Toshiba? I apologize if these questions sound really stupid. Honestly, I'm rather confused as to what to do.

    Hey,.

First of all I have to say it s even though you created the Toshiba recovery disc as mentioned in the user manual. :)
Some other users here forget it because they don t read their user's manual.

Anyway, with this record, you can restore the pre-installed Windows version (Windows 7 64 bit) with all the drivers and tools. That means you n t need additional drivers and Toshiba, all tools will be installed automatically. You get out of adjustment of the rear housing.

But if you use the Toshiba Recovery disk it will wipe the entire HARD drive, then you will need to make a backup of all your important files that you should always after installing Windows.
This is why I would recommend an external HARD drive. They offer a lot of space to save all your data and with some models, you also backup software, but you can also use the built-in Windows backup tool, it s also nice and works well.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! ;)

  • Satellite L650-1 - second recovery disk can not be read correctly

    Help!

I tried to get out of box state my Toshiba Satellite L650-1. The 1st recovery disk works but when I put my 2nd recovery disc my drive won t read the.
I tried to insert my 2nd recovery disk into another laptop and it reads it.

    All the solutions for this?

    > I tried to insert my 2nd recovery disk into another laptop and it reads.
How to understand this? If you put in another computer and check the contents in Windows Explorer, maybe it's readable, but this disc is for use of facilities.

    You created those discs?
Do you use them for the first time?

Normally, when you start installation of recovery first disc is copied and when the copy is complete, you will see message to the second recovery disk in the optical disc drive. Put the second and confirm by clicking OK.

What happens when you do this?

  • Re: Satellite L650/07C-boot-loop after memory upgrade

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C - PSK1JA-07C017.
To get a little more life out of it, I've updated yesterday with a SSD and 8 GB memory.

The SSDS works perfectly and I have installed OS and all the drivers and software.
However, the memory causes a boot loops. I returned to the standard 2 x 2 GB memory at the moment.

With the new memory installed, the computer startup-loops. When you try to start Windows, the computer will appear at the stage of loading Windows (the boot animation) and then restarts.
I tried to start with the recovery discs, and it arrives at the stage of loading of Windows Setup, and then restarts.
She will continue trying to start, then by restarting (then repeat), until I turn it off.

    The memory I installed is Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 (2 x 4 GB):
    http://www.Corsair.com/cmso8gx3m2a1333c9.html

For me, it looks like the same specifications that the modules of memory Kingston 4 GB listed on the Toshiba site as being compatible with my laptop:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/Accessories/memory/KTT-S3B/4G/accessories

I found the specs of memory recommended here:
    http://www.LASystems.be/PDF/Kingston/246787/KTT-S3B4G.PDF

If I go into the BIOS, I see that the memory is detected as 8192KB. The Toshiba site says that this laptop is expandable to 8 GB.

    Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another step I need to perform when upgrading their memory?
I don't know why it won't boot with the new memory modules in that I put.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I assume you have the Australian model is not easy to find info on the hardware upgrade. What I can say is that model European uses DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules and 4 GB of RAM compatible a part PA3677U-1M4G number.

It must be exact model described by microcens.
I recommend you use the tested and compatible memory modules.

Toshiba disc creator recovery using you create the recovery disk/disks that contains the recovery image. It's a kind of footprint of the preinstalled operating system.
With other words: this recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba tools/utilities and some additional software.

When you use it for the installation of the OS you'll have once again out of the box state.

  • Re: Satellite L650 PSK1JA: cannot read 2nd life due to the old GPU driver

    Hello

I have a windows 7, Toshiba Satellite L650 PSK1JA 0K 4017, ATI mobility Radeon HD5650 video card and I m unable to use second life (everything in the universe is a pink color) and its unusable because I need a display driver updated

I tried the AMD site and am unable to install their drivers as they say that they are not compatible and I need to get my driver from the manufacturer (toshiba)

Problem is that the Toshiba display driver is very outdated 15/03/2010
When will they ever update this particular driver and if not what anyone know a work around for this problem.

Why is the old driver. ?? If I can fix t this problem I'm going to buy a new laptop and it certainly won't be a Toshiba again. Useless, if they update their drivers.

    > When will they ever update this particular driver and if not what anyone know a work around for this problem.
I put t when drivers will be updated, but there is a workaround to install the driver AMD/ATI on Toshiba laptop. You must do so via Device Manager.

First you need to download the driver and need to save it somewhere on the HARD drive (IE desktop). Unzip the package. Then, go to the Device Manager, choose the graphics card and choose Update driver. Now, we must choose the 2nd install option that allows you to point to the downloaded folder and choose the location where the driver must be installed.
Then point to the driver folder saved on the desktop and the system should pick up the files automatically.

    Welcome them

No matter what help get beyond this problem before I bin batch would be much appreciated!

You said you use the SSD drive.
I guess it could be the reason why the recovery is not working properly.

Formats and create new partitions on the HDD/SSD drive recovery.
Sometimes, it would be possible that partitions can not be created properly because of different HDD / sizes SSD.

It would be interesting to know if you can complete the installation by using the old HDD.
