Satellite L650D-11th - no camera on 8.1 Windows 64 bit

Hello
I have a problem on a laptop to friends about the web camera. 64-bit Windows 8.1 do not recognize this (USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE). I am aware that there is no driver even though I tried to install the utility, toshiba camera win7 64 bit compatibility mode, but as expected, it did not help. Maybe it's dead but would try anything.

So my question is, what is the chipset of the web camera? I need to find a similar 64-bit driver and change it to force the loading of windows. Or could someone tell me where to download a suitable (with file *.inf) driver?

Satellite L650D-11 (PSK1SE)

Thank you!

Hello

Satellite L650D-11F was equipped with the Toshiba 0.3 M Pixcel camera (MID-380)

But usually the Windows 8.1 needs no special webcam drivers. The system uses the Microsoft own driver in order to get recognized webcam.

In any case, is this laptop series isn t Win 8.1 supports. :(
This means that pilots Win 8.1 were not released for this model of laptop and doubt that you found find a Win 8.1 for this device driver.

But I searched on Google for the USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE and discovered that the problem could be linked to the drivers of USB ports. The fact is that the webcam is connected to a USB controller.
I recommend you to uninstall all the USB ports in Device Manager.
Then let windows find and install default drivers for USB ports.

Note: the chipset driver is essential to get the controllers USB works fine.

There are different reasons for this.
Someone wrote that the ZoneAlarm firewall could block the wireless network adapter.
In this case, I would recommend removing the system Zonealarm.

Another said that he could solve this problem by unplugging or resetting the router.

Also try to disable the wireless card in Device Manager.

I called the support in milan... but a fool told me that the only way is to format and reinstall everything... it is simply too stupid just to a webcam, can't believe the company is toshiba things so badly...

    Please help me...

At first, I must say that I ve ri when I read it work on your support contact guys.
This is standard advice, but he is the reason for this.
You must understand that Toshiba notebook was shipped with the tested recovery image (OS preinstalled) and each hardware component should work properly.

When you remove anything the system and make your own operating system configuration, it may happen that something is wrong and you will have the problem.

What you can do now is to reinstall the driver for the webcam in the hope that everything will work again. So what you need to do is to remove the preinstalled version, restart your computer and install the latest version.

At this point, check the Device Manager please and tell us if the cam is recognized and registered correctly.

I guess you think that everything is easy and with a few clicks everything can be repaired, but sometimes, if nothing helps, you must reinstall OS for all components operate properly. Clean, clean installation driver preinstalled and registry clean, everything should work well.

If you are not sure of what it is don't move anything in the system. Some components can be used for other applications.

    > I have reset hard randomly wihout battery powered, with battery without power and without battery without power. After many attempts it suddenly starts normally and works fine afterwards. It is since the last days of thre appening. whenever I have stop, I have to do

I'm afraid there's something wrong with the motherboard or the part connected to the mobo as RAM modules m.
If you have not checked the RAM modules in the past, I'd recommend this as faulty RAM could affect the functionality of the laptop. In addition the RAM modules are not very expensive, so it s worth to check the following items.

But please don t understand me wrong. I put t say there is a problem with the RAM. I said, this could be the troublemaker. So please don't be disappointed if this workaround solution would not help.

Where can I find drivers for 32-bit, for

    L650D - 12 P

    DK

    Hello

It seems that only the Win 7 64 bit drivers are available for Satellite L650D - 12 p PSK1SE series at the moment that maybe Toshiba will come out the 32-bit driver in the near future let's hope

But if you want, you can install the Toshiba tools and utilities that are released for other series like Satellite L550D. Tools such as VAP, ReelTime, Touch Pad Driver or BT stack can be downloaded from other series, because these aren't portable model relating to the software.

Of course, you should pay attention to the display driver, WLan or LAN drivers, it depends on the chip.
WLAN drivers can be downloaded here:

  • Satellite L650D-101 - cannot insert the cards correctly

I just bought a Satellite L650D-101 and have tried to use the SD card reader multi/on the right side of the laptop, but I can't seem to put a card inside. Its just an inch from 1/2 open space and I can see no way to correctly insert cards.
    How do you do that?

I try to put a card in and it won't "connect" with anything and then its too far in a little loose and it gets stuck and I have to remove it with treezers. User manual says just put in it, but the slot seems too big/deep for any card. Am I missing a piece for the laptop or something?

Thanks for any help or suggestion!

    Hi Sophiedb,

What are the cards you are trying to insert?
And you can post a picture of this card reader do you mean?

As far as I know Satellite L650D-101 support the following cards:

When I check the generic system card realtek controller is disabled.

    What can I do?
    Thank you for your help

    Hello

I recommend you remove the hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager.
Expand the domain controller USB (in Device Manager), choose the USB devices - root - hub USB enhanced host controller, and press DELETE. This must be done for all devices listed there.

Satellite L650D-103 was equipped with an AMD chipset.
The chipset driver is part of the ATI display driver and that's why I recommend you to reinstall the ATI display driver again.

Finally, restart the laptop and test the functionality of USB port.

  • Satellite L650D battery does not charge

    Hello.

My laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L650D PSK1SE.

Recently I have updated my BIOS to v1.80, because there was a problem with the installation of Linux, which is solved in v1.80. Then, I met another problem - my laptop could not hibernate.

This problem suddenly disapperared after a few months, but then battery stopped charging.
When I plug my laptop, Windows 7 says "plugged in, not of charge, percentage: number.

Sorry, I can't write exactly what message because for me, it's in Russian. But it's something like that. Ubuntu says that the battery is OK and the charge, but in fact, it is not.

It starts to load when I deattach my battery and attach it back physically.

Toshiba PC Health Monitor says my battery is OK. Also I noticed that Eco Utility DOES NOT WORK when this question appears.

This happens usually when I use a cell phone for a few days while it is in hibernation.

    That's all.
Sorry for the bad English. Looking forward for your help.

    Hello

I can't imagine that this problem could be linked to the new BIOS
    But try this:

-access the BIOS and set it to the default value (press F9 to get default and save changes by pressing F10)
-close the laptop and unplug the battery adapter and ac
-Press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.
-connect the battery and ac adapter and turn on the device
-check if the battery can be charged.

  • Satellite L650D - need drivers for Win server 2008

    Laptop model: Satellite L650D-PSK1SA-03E014

before that I installed win7 32 bit OS.

Now I want to change to 64-bit, but he says still no startup disk after the completion of copy and restart.
I use the recovery disk that I burned after that I bought and used the System Restore Wizard.

So I decide to install win Server 2008 r2 64-bit, installation is successful, but some hardware drivers can be find and install from the Web site.
(I use win7 64-bit drivers, I read online, a guy said that it works on his laptop, but do not know why it does not work for me.)

should I take the laptop to the support center and ask them to install the drivers for me?
I'm not sure that this service is covered by the warranty or not.

Or I can ask them to install win7 64 bit OS for me?

Does anyone have the link to the drivers for win Server 2008 r2 64-bit?
    Thank you very much!

As much as I know Win server 2008 is not supported by Toshiba, so you will not be able to find the drivers for it. Toshiba offers support for OS preinstalled only and possibly an upgrade if your laptop model is supported for the new OS.
Warranty has nothing to with Win server 2008 so I think that guys will not be helpful for you. What they can do is to check if the original recovery image can be installed or not. If this is not the case, there may be a hardware problem.

Someone at - it an idea?

    Greetings,

    Hello

And have you connected an external USB device as says the error message? If Yes, remove all USB devices and try to restart your laptop.

If you can t start in safe mode, your operating system is confusing upward and the only option to get rid of it is to reinstall Windows.

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? If yes go to the start menu Windows by pressing the F8 button where you can select the safe mode, etc. and choose Advanced repair my computer option. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and factory settings are restored. Also see this article on HARD drive recovery:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

If disk HARD recovery doesn't work, you need an original Toshiba recovery disc. If you didn t create this drive just order a new one here:

  • Can I create a hotspot on my Satellite L300-11th?

    Hello!

I have already installed the drivers for my wireless card (laptop is Satellite L300-11th) and I can connect to any access points.
But I have question: can I create an access point on my laptop. If so tell me please how I can do it.

    Kind regards
    Andrey.

As far as I know that's not possible.

If you want to throw a ranger superior of the router, you can use a Repeater. It receives a signal and retransmits it at a higher level or higher power.

And if you want to connect between laptops without router you can assign access to the ad hoc network in the advanced settings WLAN.
