Satellite L670 - Media Player can't read DVDs

I got this Satellite L670 for a few weeks and this is the first time I tried to play the DVD on it. I get messages saying "media player cannot play the dvd because not possible to activate the analog copy on the output display protection." Try to install a driver available for your video card.
What should I do about it?

I bought this for playing DVDs on the run which is very annoying. It burns very well on dvd.

Hi nigel63,

Have you tried another player rather Windows Media Player? I have good experience with VLC media player as it can play most audio and video files. He the freeware tool and really great, I can't recommend it:
http://www.videolan.org/VLC/

In addition the message looks like you want to play a copy of the DVD. Have you tested with different original DVD?

Have just implemented a L300 and everything was going well until I decided to try a prerecorded DVD. All I get is a message that reads... Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because no compatible decoder is not installed on your computer. I do have it connected to the internet if that makes a difference.

Can someone explain what it means all and what to do. All new at this game!

    Hello

I think that you need to install a pack of codecs for Windows media player play DVD. I have good experiences with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Use Google to find, it contains the essential codecs for Windows Media Player.

But let me give you a piece of advice: try to play DVDs with another room. I always use the VLC media player because it can play audio and video files more. In addition he s freeware and in my opinion more quickly as media player.
    Check it!

  • Windows media player is anyway to get media player to recognize a zip file? I get the error message the media player can't read file - unrecognized codec?

I'm on windows 7 latest model home of wmp - i have checked no update is available at this time

Zip is a file format compressed - it can contain several files and folders inside. Windows Media Player will be able to play a Zip file. However, you can unzip the file (unzip) so that you can see its contents. If there is any right one media file, you will be able to read them.

To unzip, right-click on the file and select extract all.

  • Re: Satellite C660-125 DVD player can't read DVD

    Hi guys

I have a C660-125 and its developed a problem with the DVD player. It can read CDs and burn fine CD, but it won't read or burn DVDs at all.

I used a laser cleaner, I also googled firmware but can't find anything for her.

Any ideas what is wrong with it?

    The model is TS-L633

    > I used a laser cleaner, I also googled firmware but can't find anything for her.

I cleaned my alcohol BIZARRE or cotton tip laser lens and it worked like a charm. In your case worth a try too.

In addition if an ODD firmware would be available, then you should find it on the European driver Toshiba page.
I checked, but did not find a firmware for TS-L633 means that this firmware update is not necessary.

But I found this Toshiba document:
_ODD firmware update to solve problems with the Toshiba creator_ recovery CD
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9C02RP0000R01.htm

But beware: the document contains files different firmware for TS-L633 on different sides. If your ODD is not on the list, don t try update firmware for your ODD would harm to the use of the firmware is not compatible!

  • Satellite U300 - DVD player can't read DVD

I got my U300 for about a year and a half, and now the DVD player has stopped working properly.

I can play DVDs without problem, but I am unable to read CDs or disks of software. When I double click on DVD - RW on my computer, a message appears telling me to insert a disk in drive D, when it is already there!

Anyone know what is the problem and how can I solve this problem? Any help is very appreciated! Thank you!

    Hello

You can try the steps to follow

-Try to remove upper and lower filters. If you n t know how, read this Microsoft KB article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

-Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD, and then restart the laptop. After the reboot of the CD/DVD drive will be recognized again. Maybe it works.

-Perhaps there is dust on the lens. You should try to clean the lens of the CD/DVD drive.

In the worst cases, the CD/DVD drive must be replaced :(

    Good bye
